Master’s Entry Program in Nursing Announcement for Career Changers

https://www.prweb.com/

Unitek Learning is the parent company of several distinguished learning institutions: Unitek EMT, Unitek College, Eagle Gate College, and Provo College.

Career changers without a nursing background can enroll in this advanced program and prepare for RN licensure.

In early 2019, Unitek Learning acquired Eagle Gate College and Provo College in the state of Utah. All three campuses have grown as they continue to champion the Unitek Learning brand, mission, and commitment to student success. In October, Eagle Gate unveiled a new program for the Murray campus: The Master’s Entry Program in Nursing (MEPN). This degree program will provide graduates with a coveted degree in the healthcare industry.

Aspiring nurses can take their education to the next level with the MEPN program. In as little as 22 months, graduates receive a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree. Career changers without a nursing background can enroll in this advanced program and prepare for licensure. While a master’s degree isn’t a requirement for registered nurses (RNs), MSN-trained nurses typically have greater salaries, job opportunities, and leadership positions. A master’s degree is also required for most nurse educators and managers.

“Graduates who pass their licensing exam will be prepared to meet societal needs in a rapidly changing national and global healthcare arena,” said Todd Smith, Regional Director of Marketing at Eagle Gate College. “A graduate-level degree can make a significant difference in the life and career of a healthcare professional.”

Not only will students gain invaluable skills, but they’ll benefit from the convenience of completing some of their coursework online. Other benefits include various scholarship opportunities, NCLEX-RN test preparation services, and career placement. Eagle Gate even offers a tuition forgiveness program for prerequisite courses. Throughout the MEPN program, students will train to assume advanced clinical roles in hospitals, community health clinics, and state, federal, and global institutions.

“We are thrilled to offer the MEPN program at our Murray campus,” said Janis Paulson, Chief Executive Officer at Unitek Learning. “This is a big step forward for our Utah presence as we continue to educate the next generation of nurses. In extending our reach to career changers without a nursing background, we hope to reduce the nursing shortage in the U.S., better the communities around us, and advance the future of healthcare.”

Unitek Learning is the parent company of several distinguished learning institutions: Unitek EMT, Unitek College, Eagle Gate College, and Provo College. Taught by experienced professionals, Unitek programs teach the clinical technique and theory used in the field today. Equipped with a multitude of sought-after skills, graduates from these schools are prepared to excel in many of the fastest-growing careers in healthcare and nursing.

Jefferson Health and Quick’rCare Pioneer Decision Making for Immediate Care

“This is what people who feel bad need right now, right when they begin to feel sick,” said Stephen K. Klasko, MD, president of Thomas Jefferson University and CEO of Jefferson Health. “Working with Quick’rCare allows us to expand our commitment to healthcare with no address.”

“By collaborating with the stellar team at Jefferson Health, we now have the medical and operational expertise to support our efforts in the creation of a world-class patient experience,” says Alex Guastella, CEO of Quick’rCare.

Jefferson Health has developed innovative techniques throughout its health system to better support the residents of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Combined with Quick’rCare, Jefferson will immediately be able to give patients the ability to decide between getting care in an emergency room or urgent care center or making a reservation to avoid a wait. Next, the collaboration will design and deploy an interface to help decide the best type of visit based on the patient’s needs.

After validation of the new collaborated process, Jefferson Health will offer JeffConnect video visits as an alternative form of care through Quick’rCare. “The ability to provide our community with personalized care tailored to their specific medical needs, location and preferences while eliminating waiting time represents a wonderful patient-centered advance,” said Dr. Judd Hollander, Jefferson Health’s senior vice president of healthcare delivery innovation.

“This is what people who feel bad need right now, right when they begin to feel sick,” said Stephen K. Klasko, MD, president of Thomas Jefferson University and CEO of Jefferson Health. “Working with Quick’rCare allows us to expand our commitment to healthcare with no address.”

A key element of the new strategy is simplicity. This collaboration will use LEAN methodologies to enhance the patient experience and not confuse sick patients with hard-to-understand technology. “Technology can become extremely cumbersome to patients and providers. Quick’rCare has prided itself on staying simple to use and understand. After spending many months with the Jefferson team, our technology thinking aligns well,” says Raghu Dhulipala, CTO of Quick’rCare.

About Quick’rCare

In 2016, entrepreneurs Alex Guastella and Raghu Dhulipala joined forces to solve digital problems that sick patients face every day. Through much deliberation, Quick’rCare was created to be a guidance platform that will help the 145 million people who end up in the emergency room every year. Since its inception, Quick’rCare has helped over a million patients, added over 20 team members, and brought on great investors. Whether it is through the technology created or the volunteer hours served, the people behind Quick’rCare have a mantra of always doing good for others.

Weight Loss Surgery and a Bride Who Can Finally Wear Her Dream Wedding Dress Highlight Long Term Benefits, says Dr. Feiz & Associates

https://www.prweb.com/

Dreams can come true with a lot of work and, in some cases, with a little bit of surgical assistance.

While patients still have to work hard to change their lifestyles, without the constant hormonally-induced cravings for food, attaining and sustaining substantial weight loss becomes a great deal easier.

An October 21 article on Yahoo Lifestyle reported on a New York woman who was able to lose 185 pounds through weight loss surgery and who has been able to maintain that loss since 2005. The woman spoke about her past struggle with severe obesity, from experiencing knee pain when she walked to being too large to wear the dress she’d always hoped to wear on her wedding day. Fourteen years later and several dress sizes smaller, the article reports that she is finally able to wear a dream dress as she prepares to renew her vows with her husband. Los Angeles-based weight loss surgery specialists Dr. Feiz & Associates notes that bariatric surgery is making these kinds of stories a great deal more common.

Dr. Feiz & Associates comments that, for those struggling with obesity, losing the weight is very hard but that’s not the only problem. It’s keeping the weight off and maintaining the new weight that is typically even far more challenging. The clinic explains that, while it is sometimes possible to slim down naturally through diet, exercise and strong self-discipline, success is short-lived in the large majority of cases. The clinic says that the body is wired to fight anything it deems a potential threat, including substantial weight loss which it takes as a sign of imminent famine. So, production of the hormone responsible for the nagging feelings of hunger that make weight loss so difficult – already present in larger amounts in overweight and obese people – goes into overdrive. Plagued by ever-increasing cravings which feel exactly like hunger, the clinic says that it’s no wonder why the vast majority of people who attempt to defeat obesity on their own eventually backslide and regain all of the weight that they have worked so to get rid of – sometimes with a few extra pounds attached.

What a weight loss procedure such as a sleeve gastrectomy does is reduce the size of the stomach, says Dr. Feiz & Associates. By removing a significant portion of the stomach, individuals are discouraged from overeating as it becomes uncomfortable, decreasing their appetite – but that’s only part of the story. In the process of reducing the size of the stomach, production of the primary hormone associated with hunger, called ghrelin, is also reduced substantially. The clinic notes that patients still have to work hard to change their lifestyles but, without the constant hormonally-induced cravings for food, attaining and sustaining substantial weight loss becomes a great deal easier.

Interested readers who would like to know more about Dr. Feiz & Associates and weight loss offerings can call 310-855-8058 or visit the clinic’s website at https://www.drfeiz.com.
