Cognosante Awarded New Community Care Referrals and Authorizations (CCR&A) Contract

Cognosante has been awarded a contract to continue providing development and support services for the Department of Veterans Affairs Community Care Referrals and Authorizations program. The new task order will allow Cognosante to continue its implementation of the VA’s Health Share Referral Manager (HSRM), an enterprise-wide system used by community care staff to generate referrals and authorizations for Veterans receiving care in the community. The award carries a total estimated value of $149 million. It includes one base year with two option years.

This contract award reflects Cognosante’s strategic focus on delivering solutions that optimize the quality of healthcare to the Veteran community. “By streamlining and standardizing community referrals, the VA is poised to transform the quality of care for our nation’s Veterans. Cognosante is proud to partner with the VA on the next phase of this initiative,” says James Gordon, President of Cognosante.

This latest award also builds on Cognosante’s expertise in promoting interoperability with community care providers. “As an Amazon Web Services Network Partner, Cognosante is uniquely positioned to help the VA enhance its ability to share health data in a secure way,” said Steve Schliesman, General Manager of Cognosante’s Military and Veterans Health Business Unit.

HSRM is an integral component of the community care information technology (IT) architecture that allows Veterans to receive care from community providers. It will allow the VA to transition from a largely manual referral process to a standardized solution that will improve the timeliness of referrals, reduce administrative burden, and facilitate communication between facility community care staff and community providers. “Foundational to our Veterans receiving reliable community care, referrals and authorizations are the first steps toward the VA’s vision of a fully integrated commercial health environment,” said Schliesman. “Cognosante is honored to continue its service in support of this critical capability.”

SWAGTRON’s NG3 Electric Skateboard Keeps Cruising After Kids Kick Off

best kids electric skateboard

SWAGTRON’s NG3 electric skateboard for kids features “kick to cruise” technology.

Our goal with the NG3 was to create an electric skateboard that offered kids the chance to experience the thrill of riding an e-board, but in a way that was a natural transition from traditional skateboards.

SWAGTRON®, the leader in affordable light electric vehicles, today introduces the all-new Swagskate NG3, a compact electric skateboard built just for kids. The mini e-board features “kick to cruise” technology aka Endless Mode, allowing young riders to experience the thrill of riding a board boosted by an electric motor without the need for a remote. Once the rider kicks off, the motor takes over and smart sensors in the board maintain speed automatically.

The NG3 is capable of speeds up to 9.3 mph, but only maintains whatever speed the rider achieves by kicking (think: cruise control), making it an intuitive way for young riders to progress from riding a traditional skateboard to an electric one. The motor disengages once any deceleration or resistance is detected allowing riders to slow and stop the same as a traditional board. Powered by a 100-watt motor, the NG3 can support riders up to 150 pounds and go up to 6 miles per charge.

“Our goal with the NG3 was to create an electric skateboard that offered kids the chance to experience the thrill of riding an e-board, but in a way that was a natural transition from traditional skateboards,” says CMO Jason Wakefield. “And of course, to make it available at a price that parents would approve of.”

The Swagskate NG3 is compact; at only 19.6 inches long it fits easily in a backpack. And weighing in at only 7.7 pounds, it’s easy to carry, too. The lightweight deck features a futuristic shape and the griptape is emblazoned with the iconic lion logo. An LED taillight doubles as a color-coded systems indicator. A multicolor display shows during standby, while green means charged and ready to ride and red indicates braking. The LED also helps keep riders visible in low-light conditions.

The Swagskate NG3 kids electric skateboard retails for $160 and is available now at Swagtron.com, Amazon and select retailers for an introductory price of only $129.99.

Innovecture, LLC is proud to announce its membership with the Financial Data Exchange, LLC (FDX)

innovecture ceo

Shreyas Kamat, CEO of Innovecture

Innovecture aims to contribute its leading industry research to FDX and support their mission to create a common standard for the entire financial industry.

The decision to join FDX is led by Innovecture’s current involvement in creating and deploying standards-based core banking API’s for its customers. This involvement is driven by the company’s top architects and engineers who are researching multiple global standards and are creating a comprehensive API catalogue for which they are filling the current gaps within the existing data models, API specifications, and security models. Innovecture aims to contribute its leading industry research and thought leadership to FDX and support their mission to create a common standard for the entire financial industry.

In this digital economy it is the consumer who will benefit if all financial institutions could exchange data in a faster, cheaper, and more secure method. For example, current pain points and fears for consumers include;

1. having to log into multiple financial systems,

2. long customer service phone calls and waits,

3. money transfer delays that can last multiple working business days (especially overseas); and,

4. fear of falling victim to cyber-attacks.

These implications and worries will drastically improve, perhaps disappear completely, if the industry could successfully implement a global standard which is what Innovecture is here to help with.

Regarding the FDX API, Shreyas Kamat, CEO of Innovecture, stated, “We envision of helping our clients improve customer satisfaction and reduce total cost of ownership by building all of their digital banking applications portfolio such as internet banking, customer servicing, payments, marketing, and case management.”

“We believe in listening to all industry voices to build a standard that gives consumers and businesses the easiest, most secure access to their financial data,” said Don Cardinal, Managing Director of FDX. “We welcome Innovecture to FDX and look forward to their participation in the development and further evangelization of the FDX API standard.”

To establish and maintain a consumer-based, forward-thinking digital environment, Innovecture employees abide by four strategic core values areas as shown below.

INNOVECTURE CORE VALUES

Competency – “Be the Best at what you do.”

Commitment – “Commit 100% to your customer.”

Communication – “Be concise and transparent.”

Innovation – “Be innovative in everything you do.”

In conclusion, the overall goal of the partnership between Innovecture and FDX is clear – impactful global standardization. Consumers using the industry’s digital banking applications will get a jump start in their digital transformation journey by leveraging a standard, core banking API catalogue. This leap will also provide end consumers with a comprehensive and standardized data model in conjunction with API specification. “This will help customers reduce their time and costs,” continued Kamat, “to market and improve the interoperability with their own consumers and partners.”
