Tel Aviv to Host 2020 Global Wellness Summit

News Image

Set against the backdrop of this city’s ancient history is a thriving start-up culture of innovators and entrepreneurs who are at the epicenter of creating positive disruption through the intersection of healthcare, wellness and technology.

The Global Wellness Summit (GWS), the foremost gathering of international leaders in the $4.5 trillion global wellness economy, closed its 2019 conference by announcing that next year’s event will take place in Tel Aviv, Israel, a city bursting with historical and spiritual significance and bustling with innovations that intersect wellness, healthcare and technology. The dates for the 14th annual conference will be November 10–13, 2020. Registration for the 2020 Global Wellness Summit is now open; details can be found here.

A consortium of companies—both inside and outside of Tel Aviv—will serve as host sponsors for next year’s event. The first companies to sign on include Welltech1, a wellness innovation hub and microfund in Tel Aviv; Comtecgroup, an international event production company specializing in medical/scientific conferences; and Geneva-based L.RAPHAEL and R.RAPHAEL in Israel, a well-known luxury beauty brand and technological innovator in anti-ageing skin care.

In making the announcement, Susie Ellis, GWS chair and CEO, told delegates, “We’re thrilled to announce that the Summit will take place in this extraordinary location—one with deep spiritual significance and also firm roots in wellness, including its proximity to the Dead Sea, one of the earliest known wellness destinations.”

Nancy Davis, GWS chief creative officer and executive director, added, “Set against the backdrop of this city’s ancient history is a thriving start-up culture of innovators and entrepreneurs who are at the epicenter of creating positive disruption through the intersection of healthcare, wellness and technology.”

Davis noted that Israel, which is home to the highest concentration of start-ups after Silicon Valley and is known for its cutting-edge technology, is often referred to as “The Start-up Nation.” With this backdrop, the GWS announced plans for the 2020 Summit to include an Innovation Pavilion, which will give delegates the opportunity to meet with the many and varied start-ups working in the wellness industry in Tel Aviv and the wider world.

Welltech1’s co-founder Amir Alroy will play a key role in the Innovation Pavilion. Alroy said, “GWS delegates can expect a curated look at some of the very best wellness start-ups.”

“Israel is home to massive wellness and beauty innovations, and Israeli consumers are consistently among the earliest adopters of cutting-edge wellness-related products and services,” said Israeli-born Ronit Raphael, founder and president of Swiss-based L.RAPHAEL and R.RAPHAEL, which opened the world’s first-ever medical cosmetic center in Israel in 1986. “With a population that is expected to double over the next 30 years, Israel will no doubt lead future global wellness trends, making the country a perfect choice for next year’s Summit.”

The Global Wellness Summit is the world’s largest conference on the business of wellness and is an invitation-only event. Registration is now open, and first-time delegates should apply to attend as soon as possible.

https://www.prweb.com/

The Smart EMS Solution

“We are excited to partner with the Public Safety Network to leverage P3’s communications engineering expertise to bring an innovative and comprehensive approach to connectivity for the EMS community,” – Marc Althoff.

Created by former FirstNet senior executives and P3 Group North America engineers, Allerio is a smart mobile connectivity company that is taking emergency medical services (EMS) and telemedicine to the next level with next generation connectivity solutions built with meeting the needs of responders in mind. The start-up is dedicated to bringing the best technology for first responders to meet the current and future needs of the global public safety community.

Allerio is a joint venture between the Public Safety Network, LLC (PSN) and P3 North America Inc. (P3 NA) and was founded in 2019. Allerio is headquartered in Duluth, Minnesota with satellite offices spanning the U.S., including production facilities in Madison Heights, Michigan. The co-founders of PSN, TJ Kennedy, former President of the FirstNet Authority, and Jason Karp, former Chief Counsel of the FirstNet Authority, founded PSN to help bring to market the best technology and communications solutions to meet the mission critical needs of public safety. P3 NA is a subsidiary of P3 Group GmbH (P3 Group), which is a world-renowned engineering firm with significant success in the communications, automotive and aviation sectors. Kennedy and Karp are part of the Allerio senior executive team and serve on the Allerio board of directors, along with Dr. Samit Ghosh, the President and CEO of P3 NA, and Marc Peter Althoff, Managing Director of P3 Group.

“We are excited to partner with the Public Safety Network to leverage P3’s communications engineering expertise to bring an innovative and comprehensive approach to connectivity for the EMS community,” noted Marc Althoff.

Allerio executives came to understand even more the need for new and innovative communications solutions for EMS to assist with their lifesaving mission while at the FirstNet Authority, where the founders and other members of the FirstNet Authority consultation team engaged with first responders nationwide.

“As telemedicine has become more prevalent with the roll out of Emergency Triage, Treat and Transport (ET3) for out of hospital care being performed by EMS, the need for reliable, uninterrupted and secure, connectivity has become increasingly paramount. Allerio’s platform allows for that enhanced connectivity capability. Allerio’s ability to provide reliable patient data transmission gives EMS professionals the ability to quickly and accurately record and share crucial patient information, with a continued focus on the patient, instead of spending extra time doing manual data entry and recordkeeping,” said co-founder TJ Kennedy.

Allerio’s smart connectivity solutions for EMS agencies, healthcare professionals, and hospitals provide a reliable communication platform to facilitate the exchange of critical patient information and data from the field to the hospital. The Allerio “Mobile Hub” enables a seamless and automatic network transition to access the best available connectivity, whether in or out of a vehicle, patient home or other structure, ensuring patient data is delivered in real-time. Through an easy to use, one-button interface, Allerio gives EMS personnel an efficient and secure platform to connect devices and transmit rich data.

“Allerio is on the cusp of innovation, and we are truly excited about partnering with medical technology innovators to ensure public safety has the latest, most advanced lifesaving technologies at their fingertips,” added co-founder Jason Karp.

Empowering EMS with lifesaving technology is Allerio’s foundation. For all first responders who rely on broadband LTE networks to send patient data reliably to hospitals, Allerio will increase their capabilities and enable improved communications every day and during disasters to continually provide earlier medical interventions to help achieve improved patient outcomes.

AQYR Announces Participation in Viasat’s Government Terminal Modification Kit Program

“We are excited to be working with Viasat to provide an affordable, resilient communications capability to our DoD and international coalition partners,” said Carl D’Alessandro, president of AQYR Technologies, Inc.

AQYR Technologies, Inc., a New Hampshire based manufacturer of rugged, portable, tactical satellite communications (SATCOM) terminals, announced it will participate in Viasat’s government-focused terminal modification kit program, which will enable AQYR’s terminals to interoperate with Viasat’s current and next-generation high-capacity SATCOM networks, including hybrid, multi-network architectures. Hybrid, multi-network SATCOM architectures will allow military users to easily roam among commercial and purpose-built defense satellite networks.

Enabling interoperability between AQYR’s terminals and Viasat’s SATCOM networks provides assurance to U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and international coalition forces that their current inventory of SATCOM terminals will be able to access Viasat’s next-generation, high-capacity satellite networks by simple updates to existing terminals without the need to purchase new equipment.

“We welcome companies like AQYR, who have committed to join us in creating a path to simplify technology logistics and lower total cost of ownership in relation to defense SATCOM networks,” said Ken Peterman, president, Government Systems, Viasat. “Our terminal modification kit will help U.S. DoD and international military forces quickly implement an end-to-end hybrid architecture to support their diverse mission sets while using interoperable terminals on the best available SATCOM networks.”

Hybrid networks can maximize subscriber capabilities and resilience by providing simultaneous access to multiple networks. These networks may span multiple orbital regimes, operate over multiple frequency bands, provide independent terrestrial infrastructure and feature different network management and cyber defense capabilities, providing inherent diversity and removing single points of failure and/or attack. Due to load balancing, different service level agreements, network congestion, weather and other attributes, the user population of hybrid networks will be spread across multiple transport networks. This will make it difficult for an adversary to target their communications capabilities for collection, exploitation or denial.

For more information on hybrid networking, please visit Viasat’s website.

AQYR Technologies, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of Windmill International, Inc., provides innovative satellite communications products and solutions to a broad range of DoD, international defense, and enterprise customers. EMulate Therapeutics® Inks Distribution Agreement for India with Sayre Therapeutics

EMulate Therapeutics, Inc., a clinical-stage therapeutic device company developing non-invasive treatments for cancers and other serious diseases, announced it has entered into an exclusive agreement for the distribution of the company’s proprietary Voyager ulRFE® system for treatment of patients with selected brain cancer indications – both recurrent and newly diagnosed glioblastoma (GBM) and diffuse midline glioma (DMG), in India. The exclusive distributor is Sayre Therapeutics (Sayre), a Bangalore, India-based company that provides access to differentiated medical solutions to patients and clinicians in emerging markets by identifying high unmet needs across the healthcare continuum. Sayre Therapeutics is a specialty biotech dealing with innovative treatments, medical devices and diagnostics commercialization in South Asia. Sayre is backed by institutional investors and has a portfolio of oncology, interventional oncology and immunology drugs, drug delivery devices and diagnostics.

Chris Rivera, EMulate Therapeutics President and Chief Executive Officer, made the announcement stating, “This agreement with Sayre is EMulate’s second agreement with a highly-regarded international firm, the first being with Teijin Pharma Limited in Japan. Sayre is a natural fit for distributing the Voyager system as they focus on orphan therapeutics, especially cancer, as well as their current detailing of brain cancer doctors to promote products to treat GBM and DMG.”

“We are very excited about this agreement for Voyager and Hӕlo™ distribution with Sayre,” stated Michael Mischke-Reeds, Senior Vice President of Business Development for EMulate Therapeutics. “The agreement continues EMulate’s business plan for wide-spread international distribution of the Voyager and Hӕlo system with the potential to treat a number of forms of cancers and other serious diseases in children and adults.”

Ravindranath Kunjithai, Vice President and Head, Medical & Regulatory affairs at Sayre Therapeutics mentioned that “GBM is an aggressive and common malignant tumor, affecting 5000 to 7000 patients in India, with poor prognosis and limited treatment options. Since 2003 until now there have been only two FDA approvals, pointing to the unmet therapeutic need in this field. The Voyager ulRFE system is a novel concept that has shown good results in the clinical trials for GBM. Emulate has developed this ulRFE technology into a non-invasive and easy to use device in home/office surroundings, that will have far reaching positive outcomes on the Indian GBM patients.”

“Voyager is in alignment with our philosophy of launching first-in-class products that improve survival and quality of life of Indian patients,” stated Shukrit Chimote, Chief Executive Officer at Sayre Therapeutics. “Sayre Therapeutics is excited to strengthen its neuro-oncology portfolio with the addition of Voyager and Hӕlo to the existing targeted drug-delivery options, such as carmustine wafers This further reinforces our commitment to the burgeoning home healthcare market for life threatening diseases. EMulate received ISO 13485:2016, a prerequisite for a CE Mark, in May of this year; as well as receiving MDSAP (Medical Device Single Audit Program) certification in July, which is pertinent to registration in other geographies. An application for a CE Mark in the European Union was announced in August.

About EMulate Therapeutics

Headquartered in Seattle, EMulate Therapeutics is a clinical-stage therapeutic device company. EMulate has invented and patented a groundbreaking technology that utilizes precisely targeted ultra-low radio frequency energy (ulRFE®) to specifically regulate metabolic pathways on the molecular and genetic levels – without chemicals, radiation or drugs – delivered via a simple-to-use non-sterile, non-invasive, non-thermal, non-ionizing investigational device. The company’s goal is to transform disease treatment on a global scale with ulRFE, which can potentially be applied to a wide range of medical conditions as well as to veterinary medicine and non-medical applications. EMulate’s initial focus is on the treatment of patients with brain cancer, who are not well served by conventional standard of care therapies, which often result in poor outcomes and devastating side effects. Pre-clinical work is focused on exploring new applications in oncology. In addition, EMulate’s Voyager system for adults with GBM is an investigational medical device in clinical development.

For this partnership, Dropsuite and 1&1 IONOS created a seamless 1&1 IONOS-branded customer experience, so that email archiving could be easily added to existing 1&1 IONOS customer accounts or bundled with 1&1 IONOS products in the checkout. Dropsuite is deployed on a private cloud, operated by 1&1 IONOS, meaning all data and applications are hosted in 1&1 IONOS data centers.

“It’s essential that businesses archive their documents and emails. That’s why our customers need a simple and reliable platform to help store their emails safely in compliance with all legal requirements,” says Achim Weiss, CEO of 1&1 IONOS. “By partnering with Dropsuite, we now offer a professional and secure email archiving tool that automatically stores business correspondence, allowing our customers to concentrate on the continued success of their business.”

“We are excited 1&1 IONOS partnered with Dropsuite,” said Ridley Ruth, COO of Dropsuite. “Providing data archiving and compliance solutions that are scalable, searchable, legally defensible, and able to pass audits or legal queries with relative ease is what we’re all about. Now 1&1 IONOS customers will be able to safeguard and manage their email communication obligations with ease.”
