Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program Announcement

https://www.prweb.com/

Unitek College is one of California’s reputable healthcare and nursing colleges. Taught by experienced professionals, Unitek programs teach the clinical technique and theory used in the field today.

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) pre-licensure program will provide graduates with a coveted degree in the healthcare industry.

In 2017, Unitek College added a seventh campus with the acquisition of Southern California Medical College in Bakersfield, California. The campus has grown immensely over the past two years. In September, Unitek received nursing-board approval to expand their BSN program to the Bakersfield community. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) pre-licensure program will provide graduates with a coveted degree in the healthcare industry.

Doors open for nurses equipped with a BSN degree. Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs) often pursue this degree to further their education and take the next step in their careers. While a bachelor’s degree isn’t a requirement for RNs, BSN-trained nurses generally receive higher salaries, management positions, and leadership roles. A BSN degree can make a significant difference in the life and career of a healthcare professional.

“Unitek chose Bakersfield because the city is located in San Joaquin Valley (SJV), and studies have shown that SJV is one of the fastest growing, poorest, and least healthy regions of California,” said Dr. Abdel Yosef, Chief Academic Officer at Unitek Learning. “Furthermore, 31.3% of RNs in San Joaquin Valley are above the age of 55, which is a contributing factor to workforce shortage projections published by the Healthforce Center at UC San Francisco.”

Now aspiring nurses in Bakersfield will have the opportunity to earn their BSN degree at Unitek. Not only will they gain invaluable skills, but they’ll benefit from the convenience of completing some of their required courses online. Other benefits include experienced instructors, NCLEX-RN test preparation services, and employment support. Through the BSN program, students will train to work in a variety of healthcare settings, such as: complex and critical care, acute care, long-term care, community health nursing, and home health.

“We are thrilled to offer the BSN program at our Bakersfield Campus,” said Janis Paulson, Chief Executive Officer at Unitek College. “This is a big step forward for Unitek as we continue to educate the next generation of nurses. In extending our reach, we hope to better the communities around us through the advancement of education and healthcare.”

Unitek College is one of California’s reputable healthcare and nursing colleges. Taught by experienced professionals, Unitek programs teach the clinical technique and theory used in the field today. Equipped with a multitude of sought-after skills, Unitek graduates are prepared to excel in many of the fastest-growing careers in healthcare and nursing.

California Casualty Announces 2019 Music and Arts Grant Recipients

www.calcasmusicartsgrant.com

California Casualty’s Music and Arts Grants

Students love to showcase their creativity, and helping educators keep music and arts in the forefront of every-day learning is absolutely the right thing for us to do.

One hundred and thirty nine public schools in 31 states will be receiving a $250 Music and Arts Grant from California Casualty. A total of $34,750 will provide materials, supplies, and instruments for art, music, and performance programs at the schools.

The grant is designed to foster creativity in schools, such as choir, band, dance, film, theater, computer arts and graphics, or any K-12 curriculum that employs art for learning.

Examples of how the $250 grants for 2019 will be used include:

  • Purchasing special adaptive instruments for the Special Education Center at Mark Twain School in Garden Grove, CA, that serves special needs and medically fragile students
  • Supplying watercolor sets for third grade students at Homer Davis Elementary School in Tucson, AZ
  • Providing recorders for each music class student at Marie Roberts-Caney Elementary School in Lost Creek, KY
  • Acquiring Diary of a Whimpy Kid books to foster the reading program at Garfield Elementary School in Yakama, WA
  • Supplementing various art supplies (that the instructor often purchases with her own funds) at the Classical Studies Magnet Academy in Bridgeport, CT
  • Buying an additional camera to allow more students to participate in the photography program at Filer High School in Filer, ID

The entire list of Music and Arts grantees is included below.

California Casualty has partnered with education associations since 1951 and understands the importance of music and arts education for children. Numerous studies have concluded that sharing a love of the arts enhances students’:

  • Brain development
  • Creativity
  • Classroom involvement

Music and art curriculum has also been shown to reduce disciplinary issues and dropout rates.

Unfortunately, many schools have reduced or eliminated music and arts education because of budget cuts. California Casualty hopes to fill the need with the Music and Arts Grant.

“Students love to showcase their creativity, and helping educators keep music and arts in the forefront of every-day learning is absolutely the right thing for us to do,” said California Casualty AVP Brian Goodman.

Public K-12 schools needing funding for an arts or performance program can apply for the 2020 Music and Arts Grant from California Casualty at http://www.calcasmusicartsgrant.com.

Founded in 1914, California Casualty provides the NEA Auto and Home Insurance Program. Come Visit Visikol at the College of American Pathologists at Booth #216

News Image

Beginning to offer digital pathology services a little over two years ago was the logical next step in offering best-in-class imaging and drug discovery services to our Clients

When a lot of researchers think of Visikol, they think of the companies tissue clearing reagents and kits that allow for the complete 3D characterization of tissues through the use of confocal and light sheet microscopy. However, over the last few years, Visikol has transitioned into an imaging, image analysis and advanced cell culture focused contract research organization and today offers 3D tissue imaging as a service as well as digital pathology and 3D cell culture assays.

“To support our 3D tissue imaging services and products, we had developed a large suite of image analysis tools for both 2D and 3D data sets and began to apply these tools to help our Clients with their traditional 2D slide-based samples in 2017. Beginning to offer digital pathology services a little over two years ago was the logical next step in offering best-in-class imaging and drug discovery services to our Clients,” described Visikol Chief Executive Officer Dr. Michael Johnson.

Visikol offers pathology services to its Clients that include traditional H&E and IHC tissue preparation, slide scanning, fluorescent immunolabeling and multiplex labeling as well as imaging. All of these services can leverage either Visikol’s 3Screen™ image analysis software suite and/or evaluation by a board-certified Pathologist. At CAP this year, Visikol will be specifically focusing its presentations and data on immuno-oncology digital pathology and multiplex imaging. Visikol has demonstrated the ability to acquire a tremendous amount of information from a single slide and to answer many complex questions such as quantifying immune cell infiltration kinetics as well as how different immune cell sub-types behave.

Due to the cost of immuno-oncology therapeutics and consequently patient/animal data and samples, it is crucial to extract as much information as is possible from a single piece of tissue in order to better inform a clinical trial or a drug discovery program. Visikol partners closely with its pharmaceutical Clients to understand their specific research questions in order to create a labeling and data analysis plan for every tissue. Once wet tissues, FFPE blocks or slides are transferred to Visikol, the team at Visikol leverages its validated antibodies and immunolabeling approaches to ensure the highest quality imaging data is obtained through either slide scanning or automated confocal microscopy. After Visikol has generated a library of imaging data or a Client has transferred their own imaging data to Visikol, the team works to create and validate a robust image analysis pipeline for distilling this data down into the Clients desired endpoints.

As a company in the digital pathology space, Visikol is very unique with its expertise in advanced image analysis and multiplex imaging, but also because it leads the field in clinical digital pathology solutions. While there are several companies pursuing applications of machine learning and digital pathology in the clinic to address pathology limitations, Visikol was actually one of the first to accomplish this task through its development of digital pathology machine learning software to support the development of Enzyvant Therapeutic’s RVT-802.

Therefore, if you are interested in discussing your digital pathology projects in more detail with the field’s leading experts, stop by Visikol booth #216 or check out our services on our website.

About Visikol

Visikol is a CRO focused on advanced drug discovery that is leading the fields of bio-imaging, bioinformatics and image analysis. We conduct end-to-end drug discovery services that include both 2D and 3D in vitro models and assays, 3D whole mount tissue imaging, digital pathology and custom drug discovery projects. Visikol offers a portfolio of drug discovery services ranging from 2D and 3D cell culture model and assay development to in vitro screening, animal tissue histology and automated image processing. The focus of these services is to transform tissues into images and ultimately into quantitative data sets that can be mined for actionable insights that help our Clients make more informed decisions during the drug discovery process. Additionally, Visikol manufactures and sells a suite of tissue clearing reagents and 3D immuno-labeling kits. These products allow researchers to easily and rapidly image whole tissues and 3D cell culture models in 3D instead of traditional 2D sectioning. The Wall Street Technology Association (WSTA) to Hold a Seminar on “Digital Transformation and the Customer Experience (CX)” in NYC

https://www.prweb.com/

Networking at Past WSTA Seminar

The Wall Street Technology Association (WSTA®), a not-for-profit organization that provides financial technology and business professionals a forum to learn from and connect with each other will hold a Seminar on “Digital Transformation and the Customer Experience (CX)” followed by a discussion on “Culture in the Workplace” for financial technology and business professionals on September 19, 2019 in New York City. Sponsors at this event include: Premier Speaking Sponsor: Atos; Luncheon Speaking Sponsor: NTT DATA; Speaking Sponsors: Broadcom, Imperva, Kofax, Moxtra and OutSystems.

The “Culture in the Workplace” discussion will be led by WSTA President James Kostulias, Managing Director, Retail Client Experience, TD Ameritrade.

For more information, please visit: https://www.wsta.org/events/event/digital-transformation-the-customer-experience/

Seminar Description:

Digital Customer Experience (DCX) has become the watchword of next-generation customer interaction. On the customer-facing side, technologies such as social platforms, chatbots, human-machine interfaces like Alexa and Siri, and virtual reality (VR)/augmented reality (AR) are dramatically changing how financial services firms interact with customers (whether individuals or businesses). On the back technologies like AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics are providing financial executives with unprecedented insight into customer desires and behavior.

In sum, these technologies have the potential to radically transform financial services firms. They can spawn new lines of business, new products and new partner channels.

But these technologies have also heightened expectations from the digital ecosystem, and Wall Street firms need to dial up the pace of change to meet these expectations. These include protecting data while making it available to authorized users; storing, retrieving, and analyzing the data, and delivering the insights via a range of user experiences.

This seminar is designed to share visions and experiences on leading-edge methods to handle obstacles and accelerate this journey.

Culture in the Workplace Discussion:

In today’s environment, the war for talent has become even more challenging. Financial firms are facing steep competition from the technology industry, FinTech startups, and other industries. In addition, the workforce now consists of multiple generations and Diversity and Inclusion is a key focus. How does a company’s culture influence the ability to attract and retain the best and brightest? Can culture make a difference on how effectively teams perform? Do we need to adjust our cultures as our workforce becomes more diverse? How do firms use their culture to differentiate against potential competitors? How do emerging/maturing technologies and your office space play into your culture? This discussion will tackle these questions.

About the Wall Street Technology Association (http://www.wsta.org)

The WSTA facilitates educational and networking events where members meet and exchange ideas and best practices that assist them in effectively capitalizing on technology advances in areas such as Cybersecurity, Analytics, Emerging Technologies, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Data Management, Cloud, Blockchain, Digital, Architecture, Workplace, etc. and dealing with financial industry business challenges. Founded in 1967, the WSTA is a not-for-profit association with a long history of evolving to meet the needs of its members.

Bright was looking for a product that could meet the clients’ strict requirements for esthetics, function, and quality. We found that the HyperSound speaker met the requirement in full.

HyperSound® makes its way to the prestigious National Museum in Olso, Norway due to the recent collaboration of two outstanding companies. Videotel Digital and Bright Group have joined together to bring HyperSound® HSS 300 to what will be the largest cultural center in the Nordic region. Set to open in 2020, the revolutionary product will provide the venue with an extremely focused audio technology that will quite literally point sound. “For our upcoming installation for the prestigious new National Museum in Oslo, Norway, Bright was looking for a product that could meet the clients’ strict requirements for esthetics, function, and quality.
