ChronWell, a technology-enabled injury management program for the workers’ compensation industry, today announced the addition of industry expert Melinda Hayes to its Advisory team. Hayes brings over 37 years of experience in medical cost containment and nurse case management.

Red Thread Coffee Co. Relaunches with a New CEO, New Look and New Distribution Strategy, But Same Charitable Mission

https://www.prweb.com/

Red Thread Coffee Co. announces rebrand with new leadership, logo, website and social media platforms.

“We are partnering with retailers that believe in supporting their local communities and that attract consumers who are looking for natural, organic and better-for-you products,” shares Kelly Reilly, CEO of Red Thread Coffee Co.

Red Thread Coffee Co., the women-founded and women run company that makes the only cold brew where the entire line is certified organic, Fair Trade, and single origin, with no sugar or additives, is poised and ready to expand its distribution with a new look and new leadership. Under the direction of new CEO Kelly Reilly, an industry veteran with more than 20 years of experience in key roles at beverage giant Ocean Spray, Red Thread launched a new logo, new label, new website and new social media platforms while getting laser focused on broader distribution.

“We are partnering with retailers that believe in supporting their local communities and that attract consumers who are looking for natural, organic and better-for-you products,” shares Reilly.

In August, Red Thread expanded its distribution into The Fresh Market, a natural grocer operating over 160 stores in 22 states, stretching from the East Coast to Oklahoma. The Fresh Market selected Red Thread’s cold brew as part of a comprehensive overhaul of its beverages, beating out hundreds of brands and varieties. In deciding what products to accept, The Fresh Market solicited advice from more than 300 of its team members, holding taste tests that took more than two weeks to complete.

Despite all of the brand changes, Red Thread’s core philanthropic mission remains the same: two cents from every bottle sold is donated to local charities, such as God’s Love We Deliver, a New York based organization fighting hunger.

About Red Thread Coffee Co.

Red Thread Coffee Co., a women-run company, is on a mission to make an impact, one delicious cold brew at a time. The only cold brew that is organic, Fair Trade and single origin with no sugar or additives, Red Thread was created in the seaside town of Sag Harbor, NY by three women who wanted to make a difference and help others do the same. With a promise to give 2 cents for every bottle sold to local communities, Red Thread Coffee Co. lives up to the ancient legend that each of us is connected at birth by an invisible red thread to every person we are destined to help in this lifetime. Red Thread is available at Whole Foods, Stop & Shop, and The Fresh Market to name a few. To learn more, visit http://www.redthreadcoffee.com.

Noitom’s Motion Capture and Tracking Technology On Display in Divergent VR Film Experience at China’s New Lionsgate Entertainment World Theme Park

News Image

Noitom supplied all the motion capture and tracking technology to the Divergent experience at Lionsgate Entertainment World VR theme park in China.

Fans of the Divergent film franchise can now experience the excitement of the movies in VR at the Lionsgate Entertainment World theme park which opened its doors this summer in Zhuhai, China on July 31.

The Dauntless Fear Simulator —based on one of the societal factions featured in the Divergent books and films’ plot—lets players tackle their darkest fears through a series of daunting challenges during the 15 minute-long, heart-thumping experience that includes a high-altitude challenge, maze, and outdoor adventure. The game’s virtual world set up is replicated exactly as it is in the Divergent films.

Created with Noitom’s proprietary Project Alice technology, Dauntless Fear Simulator features a highly accurate optical-inertial hybrid tracking system. Visitors to the experience are given controls, VR goggles, computer backpacks, and motion capture sensors as they traverse the various challenges inside the game. The open-world concept means that they can repeat the experience and get different outcomes, just like the simulator featured in Divergent. With over 1,600 square feet of space, multiple players can interact with each other as well as with textured surfaces, virtual screens, and objects inside the experience.

Noitom began planning the Divergent Dauntless with Lionsgate Entertainment World in November of 2017 including with R&D, installation, tests, and operations.

Lionsgate Entertainment World features indoor themed rides and virtual reality experiences inspired by the Hollywood studio’s movie franchises including The Hunger Games, The Twilight Saga, and Now You See Me.

Lionsgate Entertainment World was designed by Thinkwell Group, a global design and production agency. In collaboration with Thinkwell Group and Framestore which created the immersive virtual reality environment, Noitom applied its motion capture and tracking technology to make the Divergent Dauntless Fear Simulator possible. The experience is operated by Australian media and entertainment company, Village Road Show.

SIDS Awareness Month Tree Planting Project

News Image

We hope that by raising awareness [of SUID], we can help parents understand the risks associated with these tragedies.

Join Owlet and foundations across the nation as we pay tribute to the precious little ones who have passed away prematurely of Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID). Called the Nursery of Hope project, parents, families and friends are invited to plant a “Legacy Tree” in remembrance of infants who died suddenly. The project will serve as an opportunity to raise awareness of SUID and stand as a tribute to the beautiful babies impacted.

According to the Centers of Disease Control (CDC), nearly 3,500 babies die each year for causes unknown. These deaths include Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), accidental suffocation and other unknown causes occurring in infants under one year of age.

“SUID has been plaguing the world for decades, yet we still don’t understand it,” said Kurt Workman CEO of Owlet Baby Care. “We hope that by raising awareness, we can help parents understand the risks associated with these tragedies, but also provide a memoriam to the little ones whose lives were cut short by these unknown circumstances.”

Anyone who has been impacted by SUID is invited to participate. Here’s how:

  • Plant any type of tree*
  • Take a picture of the tree which includes a photo of a baby lost to SUID
  • Share the picture on social media with the hashtag #nurseryofhope

*If you are unable to purchase a tree due to financial constraints, we suggest asking a local nursery for a donation. Owlet may also reimburse tree purchases up to $50 (limitations may apply).

Those who would like to join our effort are encouraged to follow the Instagram account @nurseryofhope. All photos tagged with #nurseryofhope will be displayed along with a story of each family affected.

For more information about this project and/or SUID, go to http://www.nurseryofhope.com. The Nursery of Hope would like to remind parents that the best way to prevent SUID is to follow the ABC’s of Safe Sleep — Alone, on their Back and in a Crib.

About Nursery of Hope

Nursery of Hope is a collaboration of corporations, nonprofit entities, parents, families and friends impacted by SUID. We seek to bring awareness, educate parents on the risks involved, and provide a means to memorialize those precious lives taken too soon from SUID. For more information about how you can get involved, go to http://www.nurseryofhope.com.

HazardHub Announces Property Fire Score – the first ever tool to measure the fire severity risk of an individual property

News Image

“We’ve examined thousands of fires and hundreds of variables to determine that fire damage of a property is impacted by three powerful factors…” – Brady Foust, Chief Scientist, HazardHub

HazardHub, the nation’s fastest-growing supplier of geospatial risk data, is excited to announce the release Property Fire Score (PFS), the first system ever to measure the risk of fire for an individual property.

Brady Foust, Chief Scientist of HazardHub says, “We’ve spent the last 18 months diving into the factors that impact the severity of fires at a specific property. We’ve examined thousands of fires and hundreds of variables to determine that fire damage of a property is impacted by three powerful factors – drive time to the nearest station, the type of responding station and the presence of accessible water. PFS is the first tool to measure risk at the property level. No more ‘one size fits all’ area-level measurements.”

Property Fire Score leverages the power of two databases unique to HazardHub – a national Fire Station Database of over 55,000 stations and HydrantHub, the largest collection of fire hydrants in the country. For areas without hydrants, HazardHub accesses their high-resolution perennial water database. When combined with road network analysis, PFS delivers an expected loss percent and loss amount for any property in the US.

Property Fire Score recognizes one key factor that competing systems completely miss – speed to the fire is a critical factor in extinguishing that fire. PFS is the only system that uses drive time network analysis as a key component of a fire risk score. Modern, open-air construction and newer, more flammable materials make speed to the fire more critical than ever. This true for both homes and businesses, as cavernous openings create faster, hotter fires.

Comparisons of PFS to areas that are considered by competing systems show that these single-score areas can have 3X the difference in risk from one property to another.

Bob Frady, CEO of HazardHub adds, “For too long people have been told that if their fire department improves their score, their insurance rates may go down. The problem is, in far too many cases that is simply not true. We think current fire department grading systems are terrific for making sure firefighters are trained but seem to have only a marginal impact on insurance rates. PFS is the first fire model that combines tens of thousands of house fires with station location and makeup data, network drive time analysis and available water to determine the loss from fire for a specific property location.”

Property Fire Score is available immediately via the HazardHub API. For any existing HazardHub customer with a full API license, PFS is absolutely free.

About HazardHub

HazardHub is your insurance policy against property risk.

Air. Fire. Water. Earth. Man-Made. HazardHub is the only third-generation provider of property-level hazard risk databases spanning the most dangerous perils in the continental United States. HazardHub translates huge amounts of geospatial digital data into easy to understand answers, providing easy to comprehend risk scorecards that are used to make real-world decisions. Our team of scientists provides comprehensive, and innovative, national coverage for risks that destroy and damage property.
