MultiTech Introduces First CBRS Industrial IoT Devices for OnGo Networks

Since joining the Alliance, MultiTech has been an active advocate for CBRS and OnGo. The eCell Ethernet to OnGo bridge device is hitting the market just in time to support initial commercial deployments, just approved by the FCC.

Multi-Tech Systems, Inc., a leading global manufacturer in Industrial IoT communication devices, today announced the availability of a new, FCC Part 15 and 96 authorized cellular to Ethernet CBRS bridge, supporting initial commercial deployments of OnGo CBRS networks, as well as an industrial CBRS router sampling today to qualified customers. These devices are to be the first of a broader portfolio of private LTE devices supporting CBRS and other dedicated LTE bands around the globe in a choice of form factors that respond to the exploding demand for robust asset connectivity within industrial and enterprise applications.

The MultiConnect® eCell and MultiConnect® rCell 600 are the first of their kind that are designed to connect a wide range of new and legacy assets to dedicated, mission-critical Private LTE and Neutral Host public access CBRS networks, in collaboration with the CBRS Alliance. They leverage the FCC open mid-band spectrum between 3.55-3.7 GHz that will be commercially launched on September 18th at a CBRS Alliance OnGo launch event in Washington, D.C.

“Private LTE networks enable enhanced mobility, security and quality of service (QoS) for any connected device, including PCs, tablets and handhelds as well as industrial IoT devices,” said Joel Lindholm, vice president, CBRS LTE Business for Commscope. “With their extensive history of enabling industrial connections, extensive cellular expertise and experience supporting private IoT networks, collaborating with MultiTech enables the Ruckus CBRS LTE portfolio to support compelling new use cases that only private LTE networks can effectively address.”

As a CBRS Alliance member, MultiTech is among the first to develop products that conform with the OnGo specifications, addressing dedicated and Private LTE networks that provide secure connectivity to the newly available CBRS mid-band spectrum.

“Since joining the Alliance, MultiTech has been an active advocate for CBRS and OnGo,” said Alan Ewing, Executive Director of the CBRS Alliance. “The eCell Ethernet to OnGo bridge device is hitting the market just in time to support initial commercial deployments, just approved by the FCC.”

The MultiConnect eCell cellular to Ethernet bridge enables plug-and-play CBRS connectivity for existing smart assets as primary connectivity or as a failover, should wired connections become compromised. Its rugged aluminum chassis protects the eCell from harsh industrial environments, while DeviceHQ® secure lifecycle management, provides IT with the tools needed to monitor and manage asset performance remotely. Samples have been shipping since May and are already in use by many CBRS Alliance members.

Applications leveraging the MultiConnect eCell include:

  • JMA XRAN virtual baseband enabling CBRS OnGo for video, internal communications and digital displays at major venues and CBRS trial sites.
  • Geoverse Private LTE, monitoring commercial building entrances in real-time.
  • Commscope working with its customers to connect vital sign monitor carts in hospitals as they roll from room to room with superior reliability and secure CBRS connectivity.
  • Syniverse Innovation Lab, using video surveillance to monitor its smart IoT-based parking lot.

“Liberalization of mid-band spectrum policy in the US and abroad has made way for a paradigm shift in the way cellular networks are deployed: from thousands of wireless operators to millions of sites with their own cellular network, including sports venues, airports, malls, hotels, mines, manufacturing facility and enterprise office spaces,” said Daniel Quant, VP Strategic Development of MultiTech. “Ours are among the first hardened IoT devices that offer securely managed after-market Private LTE and CBRS connectivity to a broad range of assets to accelerate industrial enterprise digital transformation today.”

The eCell CBRS Ethernet bridge is certified with the Athonet Connectivity Platform to rapidly, securely and reliably connect any Ethernet device to an OnGo network. It is also compliant to Ericsson Industry Connect, and is validated with the JMA XRAN virtual RAN solution for both CBRS and licensed bands – making it easy to install, setup and enable any edge device from IoT to high resolution video in a matter of minutes.

For customers requiring enhanced routing functionality, the MultiConnect rCell 600 Series industrial router is IPv6 capable and is equipped with: four 10/100/1000 Ethernet interfaces; RS232/RS485; USB, and GPIO interfaces, plus a Wi-Fi access point. It features robust, configurable security to protect critical data, secure routing to optimize network efficiency, and built-in native Modbus serial RTU communications for remote SCADA telemetry.

The rCell 600 Series supports smart applications in the oil and gas, utility, and transportation industries. Samples are available today for select customers looking to enable their operations with OnGo network capabilities. Contact sales(at)multitech.com to request a sample.

Chairman of San Diego’s Largest Non-Profit Steps Down After 39 Years

“It’s really the natural evolution of any organization,” explains Kilmer, who will stay on as CEO. “And we’re all extremely excited about our new chair.”

TERI Inc., San Diego’s largest nonprofit serving adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families announced today that 39-year Chairman of the Board, Cheryl Kilmer has stepped down. Melinda Newsome will assume chair responsibilities immediately.

New leadership is a ‘natural evolution,’ says founder and CEO.

TERI Inc., San Diego’s largest nonprofit serving adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families announced today that 39-year Chairman of the Board, Cheryl Kilmer has stepped down. Kilmer founded TERI 39 years ago and has served as CEO and Chairman of the Board since that time.

“It’s really the natural evolution of any organization,” explains Kilmer, who will stay on as CEO. “And we’re all extremely excited about our new chair.”

Melinda Newsome will assume chair responsibilities immediately. She comes to TERI with an entire career of working with non-profit organizations, specializing in fundraising, grant writing and sustainability. Plus, she’s passionate about TERI and its mission.

“You know, I never expected to be working with TERI,” Newsome said. “But when I was called back in 2014 to help them with some development issues, I fell in love with them – their clients and their organization. I’m honored to use my skills to help ensure that TERI has a dynamic and sustainable future.”

Kilmer couldn’t be more pleased with her successor. “Melinda understands our culture, our love for our clients and our commitment to quality programs,” Kilmer said. “Plus her background is excellent. We are extremely grateful to have her.”

Laura White, who spent years as TERI’s development director, and who now sits on the board, is optimistic about the extra time the new leadership will afford Kilmer to work on completing TERI’s San Marcos-based Campus of Life. “Cheryl is really a unique woman,” White said. “She’s dedicated her entire life to serving the special needs community. I’m glad she will have more time to really focus in on completing the Campus with a new chairman in place.”

Work is currently under way for phase II of the campus which will include an 8,460-square-foot vocational center that will offer TERI’s special needs clients career training in floral arts, woodworking, food processing, culinary arts and sales. A 6-acre organic farm will offer client training in growing, harvesting, packaging, selling and delivering organic produce to local restaurants and farmers markets. The second phase will also provide 1,750 additional training and volunteer opportunities for TERI clients and the community.

Completing the campus, designed to serve as an international model, while maintaining TERI’s high standard of quality for it’s over 850 clients and their families is at the top of Kilmer’s list. “There’s never a day that goes by that I’m not extremely grateful for the opportunity I have to work with these special people,” said Kilmer, who was originally inspired to found TERI by a young girl she worked with named Yvette, who was living in deplorable conditions in an institution. “We owe our clients this new campus,” Kilmer added. “We have so many people depending on it. Recent studies show that 1 in five people now have a disability. We really do owe them this.”

Dermatologist-Created Skin Care Line, Skin Resource.MD, Adds Post-Procedure Treatment Kits to Product Line

https://www.prweb.com/

With the collaboration of our nursing staff we were pleased to discover that our everyday treatments given in the clinical setting could reach a much wider customer base outside of San Diego, and add to the healing process of people in their own homes

Skin Resource.MD, a line of skin-care products created by board-certified dermatologists and based out of San Diego, California, launched two new kits to its line, designed to provide rapid healing and relief to patients who have had laser, PDT (photo-dynamic therapy, or blue light), and/or cryosurgery treatments. The products were created by practicing dermatologists and assembled into kits by practicing nurses in the Grossmont Dermatology Medical Clinic in San Diego.

Skin Resource.MD products are regularly used after each procedure at Grossmont Dermatology Medical Clinic, and the medical team combined additional newly-formulated products into take-home kits that provide comfort and help with patients’ healing. Utilizing this practical and successful post-treatment care in clinic prompted the company’s founders to provide the kits online for broad availability for all who have similar cosmetic or skin cancer-treatment procedures.

“Skin Resource.MD was founded on the principle that medically created skin-care products should be accessible and affordable to all,” said Paul B. Dean, founder and chief medical director of Skin Resource.MD. “With the collaboration of our nursing staff we were pleased to discover that our everyday treatments given in the clinical setting could reach a much wider customer base outside of San Diego, and add to the healing process of people in their own homes.”

The Post-Treatment Kits:

These products combined provide full relief post procedure. Together they reduce redness and itchiness, provide moisture and can help lessen the appearance of scarring. Includes: Total Facial Cleansing Gel (8.45 fl. oz), Hyaluronic Moisture Boost Serum (1.12 oz), and Oil Free Antioxidant Facial Moisturizer (6 fluid oz), for $56.00.

Dr. Dean started Skin Resource.MD more than 25 years ago in response to his patients’ needs for an affordable skincare line without irritants or fragrances. Skin Resource.MD prioritizes key ingredients that are beneficial and high in antioxidants, and none of the products are tested on animals.

Global Call Forwarding partners with Allergan to improve call center support in Asia

Allergan Partnership

Allergan and Global Call Forwarding Partnership

Allergan was able to significantly expand their global support coverage without seeing a drastic increase in operating costs.

Global Call Forwarding, a leading U.S. cloud communications provider, has announced its new partnership with Allergan to improve call center support in Asia using local DID phone numbers.

Allergan is a global pharmaceutical leader with commercial operations in more than 100 countries. It has a portfolio of leading brands that spans four key therapeutic areas: medical aesthetics, eye care, central nervous system, and gastroenterology.

Millions of people around the world rely on Allergan’s best-in-class products every day. Therefore, their ability to provide localized telephone support across international markets is crucial. However, Allergan’s telephone support operations are managed from centralized regional contact centers, which restricts their ability to provide local telephone support to their customers.

Their immediate requirement was to obtain local phone numbers in key markets, which forward the inbound calls to one of Allergan’s regional contact centers. Multinational companies in today’s hyper-connected digital economy are increasingly utilizing cloud contact center solutions like direct inward dial (DID) numbers to implement this solution.

According to the VP of Marketing and Sales at Global Call Forwarding, Bulent Erkaya, “Using direct inward dial numbers can be the most effective way to offer a local point of telephone contact in any foreign market. By integrating this solution, Allergan was able to significantly expand their global support coverage without seeing a drastic increase in operating costs. They activated DID numbers in many key markets, delivering much-needed telephone support and managing their operations from centralized contact centers.”

Companies with global sales and support operations are increasingly activating local phone numbers in countries where they need to offer telesupport. This makes it easier for international-based customers to contact these companies without paying for long-distance calls or dialing unfamiliar phone numbers.

Having a regional office in APAC for sales, support, and service delivery made Global Call Forwarding the ideal candidate for this partnership with Allergan.

In addition, Global Call Forwarding has the largest selection of local DID phone numbers in Asia. Their ability to provide phone numbers in unique, hard-to-get origination countries was also a major deciding factor.

By partnering with Global Call Forwarding, Allergan will increase worldwide access to customer support and improve call center reactivity while achieving significant cost savings.

This partnership will also strengthen the leading market position Global Call Forwarding holds, as it adds another major multinational corporation in the pharmaceutical sector to its clientele.

About Global Call Forwarding

Global Call Forwarding is owned and operated by United World Telecom, which has been serving companies with innovative telecommunications solutions since 1996. United World Telecom has rapidly expanded its global presence and service offerings in the last twenty-two years to offer international call forwarding, outbound calling, SMS forwarding, and call recording. Insurance Experts Explain How Drivers Can Select a Safe Car

News Image

“It is important for drivers to pick a safe car for driving. Not only a safe car will protect the lives of its occupants, but it will also help lower the insurance premiums”, said Russell Rabichev, Marketing Director of Internet Marketing Company.

Carinsuranceplan.org has launched a new blog post that explains how drivers can pick a safe car to drive and save car insurance money at the same time.

For more info and free quotes, visit https://carinsuranceplan.org/pick-safe-car/

When shopping for a new vehicle, one of the main concerns a policyholder can have is how safe is the car he is going to purchase? Choosing a safe car is important for drivers that want to keep their loved ones as safe as possible while they are on the road. Besides that, safe cars can help drivers pay less on their insurance policies.

The following tips can help drivers pick a safe car:

  • Check the crash test scores. Vehicles with good scores will better protect their occupants from injuries or even death. Policyholders should look for “Good” front moderate overlap, small overlap, side impact, and roof scores from the IIHS. IIHS tests evaluate two aspects of safety: crashworthiness – how well a vehicle protects its occupants in case of a crash, and crash avoidance and mitigation features – technology that can prevent a collision or lessen its severity.
  • Look for vehicles with side airbags. While frontal crashes are the most frequent type of collisions, side impacts are the second most common but are by far more likely to be fatal. Policyholders should buy cars that come with side head airbags besides every occupant seat and at a minimum, torso airbags besides the front passengers.
  • Analyze the car size and weight. Larger and heavier vehicles are safer than smaller ones. However, some big cars are prone to rollovers or other issues. Mid-sized sedans with high safety ratings are considered ideal choices.
  • Crash avoidance technologies. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 94 percent of fatal crashes are because a human being made an error or a poor choice. Crash avoidance technologies can sense what’s going around a vehicle and will either act in the place of the drivers or alert them. Ever improving technologies like advanced braking and warning systems can minimize injuries and damage from collisions.

Financial Poise™ Announces “Valuation in Corporate Transactions,” a New Webinar Series Premiering October 4th at 11:00 AM CST Through West LegalEdcenter™

News Image

This webinar explains how to best go about identifying and then retaining the right expert for any given situation.

About the Series: Valuation experts are commonly used by market participants to determine the price they are willing to pay or receive to transact a sale of a security, a business or a discrete asset. Valuations can be performed on assets such as equities, options, or business enterprises. They can also be performed on intangible assets such as patents and trademarks, or liabilities such as debt and contingent consideration. The concept of valuation permeates the business and legal world on a daily basis. Given the importance of valuation, it seems incongruous that two perfectly competent valuation professionals can conclude on significantly different values for the same subject interest. This webinar series addresses this and, more broadly, discusses how valuation experts go about their work.

About the Episode: Deal lawyers and business people alike often have to look to a valuation expert to assist in understanding value in various non-litigation settings. This may happen in connection with corporate spin-offs, shareholder buyouts, bulk assets sales, and a host of other contexts in which assets must be sold or valued without the benefit of being tested by the market. This webinar explains how to best go about identifying and then retaining the right expert for any given situation.

To learn more, click here.

The webinar will be available on-demand after its premiere. As with every Financial Poise Webinar, it will be an engaging and plain English conversation designed to entertain as it teaches.

About Financial Poise

Financial Poise has one mission: to provide reliable plain English business, financial and legal education to investors, private business owners and executives, and their respective trusted advisors. “By fully integrating into one organization, we enhance our functional strength and increase our capacity. Now, we can provide more communities with more comprehensive care across an expanded service area,” said SamaraCare’s President & CEO, Rev. Dr. Scott Mitchell.

On July 1, 2019, SamaraCare Counseling and Samaritan Counseling Center, joined forces to become one of Chicagoland’s largest providers of high-quality mental health services. Both organizations share a unified mission to offer options for secular and spiritually integrated care across diverse faith traditions.

The National Institute of Mental Health reports that nearly one in five U.S. adults live with a mental illness. This growing trend is why SamaraCare remains committed to its Mental Health Access Program (MHAP), which makes counseling services affordable and accessible. Through donations SamaraCare is able to provide reduced fees and subsidies for families and individuals in need of emotional and financial assistance. With more and more people requiring these vital services, MHAP continues to be a high priority initiative as the organization grows into new communities and an expanded service area.

This union also creates a sizable regional organization serving six counties that will realize administrative efficiencies and strengthen negotiating power with insurers. Another key advantage of the new larger organization will be its ability to attract and retain more highly qualified clinicians and staff. With a more impactful market presence, the organization will have significant financial opportunities that qualify it for increased funding and grant consideration.

The new organization will continue to serve children, adults, seniors, and families from Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, and Will counties. “By fully integrating into one organization, we enhance our functional strength and increase our capacity. Now, we can provide more communities with more comprehensive care across an expanded service area,” said SamaraCare’s President & CEO, Rev. Dr. Scott Mitchell.

About SamaraCare

Now serving six counties, SamaraCare has been an interfaith non -profit organization for nearly 50 years. It is uniquely qualified to offer spiritually integrated counseling services to those interested.
