Marked by premium ingredients and a nod to time-tested recipes, Bonduelle Fresh Picked™ Gourmet Entrée Salads elevate an otherwise ordinary chef’s salad into a Spanish Inspired Chef Salad with Smoked Ham, or a side salad into an Apple Walnut Baby Greens Salad with Quinoa.

“The extension of the Bonduelle brand with the new Bonduelle Fresh Picked™ Gourmet Entrée Salads was the perfect opportunity to take what we’re known for – fresh, convenient salads on-the-go – and take it up a notch to appeal to a consumer looking for something beyond the familiar,” said Bonduelle Fresh Americas Vice President of Marketing, Priscila Stanton. “We wanted to challenge the status quo of prepared salads to bring a bit of indulgence to our recipes with premium ingredients you won’t find in other ready-to-eat salads, such as Manzanilla Spanish green olives, shaved aged parmesan or crispy cornbread crumble.”

Each Bonduelle Fresh Picked™ Gourmet Entrée Salad comes ready-to-eat (and customizable) with flavorful toppings separated for optimum freshness, crunch and taste with a bed of fresh greens, such as baby greens, romaine or arugula. Dressings such as apple cider vinaigrette and creamy avocado make for an irresistible combination.

Additionally, the square bowl features the Fresh Air Seal™ process, which extends the shelf life of the salads without preservatives, so they stay fresher longer, allowing health-conscious shoppers the confidence to stock up for the week in just one grocery trip.

Fresh Picked Gourmet Entrée Salads are now available in the produce aisle of Albertsons, Safeway, Vons and Pavilions stores on the West Coast with plans to expand distribution nationally. The salads are available in five varieties:

  • Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken Strips
  • Spanish Inspired Chef Salad with Smoked Ham
  • Sonora Inspired Salad with Seasoned Grilled Chicken
  • Steak & Bleu Chopped Salad
  • Apple Walnut Baby Greens Salad with Quinoa

Eden Health Launches Telehealth Program Across Five States

Through the use of telehealth, we will be able to deliver a wide range of diagnostic, therapeutic, and care management services as well as services to support family caregivers…

Eden Health has partnered with Health Recovery Solutions (HRS), a nationwide telehealth provider, to bring telehealth and remote patient monitoring services to high-risk patients at ten home health and hospice branches across five states: Washington, Idaho, Nevada, California, and Arizona.

Since August 2019, Eden Health has offered 24/7 patient monitoring and targeted support to COPD and CHF patients with an increased risk of rehospitalization and to patients who would benefit from daily monitoring and clinical support. In addition, telehealth services leveraging video conferencing and medication tracking are available to hospice patients in rural communities, creating an additional touchpoint between clinician and patient.

“The care of our patients with frailty, chronic diseases, or significant disabilities who live in our communities continues to be a major challenge for both us as a home health agency, as well as our large health systems and our patients’ family caregivers,” said Jamie Brown, VP of Home Services at Eden Health. “Through the use of telehealth, we will be able to deliver a wide range of diagnostic, therapeutic, and care management services as well as services to support family caregivers, such as communication tools with clinicians – services that otherwise would be delivered in a healthcare setting or through in-person home visits.”

Eden Health, in tandem with their home health and hospice telehealth programs, has also established a private pay program to extend care to patients outside of home care, assisting in the continued care and disease management.

To engage patients in their care, Eden utilizes the HRS platform, which provides patients with medication reminders, educational videos and quizzes, daily symptom surveys, and seven Bluetooth peripheral devices to record daily vitals. To provide caregivers with peace of mind and ensure patients are receiving care when they need it most, all patient data is uploaded in real-time to the clinician’s dashboard. This allows clinicians to monitor patients continuously, communicate with patients, and stage clinical interventions via text messaging, phone, and video conferencing platforms.

Kristina Wood, Divisional Manager of Clinical Operations at Eden Health, commented on the additional patient support telehealth provides: “telehealth allows us to identify changes in a patients’ condition early so that we can provide prompt interventions that keep the patient where they want to be. It also enables the opportunity for our clinicians to connect face-to-face with a patient and/or their caregiver at a moment’s notice, supporting them and reducing their anxiety.”

Patients have several avenues by which to enroll in Eden Health’s telehealth program. Eligible patients are referred by the hospital, skilled nursing facility, or primary care physician upon referral to Eden’s Home Health agency. Additionally, Eden’s home care team will enroll high-risk patients following clinical evaluation.

Eden’s telehealth program is a patient-centered approach aimed at reducing rehospitalizations through improved communication, patient education, and disease self-management. Each patient enrolled in the telehealth program receives a care plan specific to their needs and condition(s), as well as around the clock monitoring and support from an RN-led triage team and visiting home health clinical team.

Travis Tomulty, Regional Care Transitions and Telehealth Manager at Eden Health, added, “Telehealth is a pivotal way to deliver innovative healthcare, simultaneously providing both clinical care and self-management of chronic diseases while promoting and supporting a patient’s maximum independence and ability to live safely at home.”

“We are thrilled to partner with Eden Health in their mission to take both patient care and telehealth to the next level,” said Jarrett Bauer, CEO of Health Recovery Solutions. “HRS is committed to increasing access to care for underserved regions and is excited to work with Eden as they provide countless patients and families with exceptional care in the comfort of their home.”

Concerto HealthAI Research Demonstrates that its Patient Reported Outcomes System Effectively Bridges the Communication Gap between Patients and their Clinical Team

News Image

Concerto HealthAI, the leading Real-World Data and AI Enterprise Technology company for precision oncology, announced today that it will present research findings which show how utilizing an electronic Patient Reported Outcomes (ePRO) system can be a highly effective and superior way for oncology practices to identify unmet needs of patients and link them to resources for developing Advance Directives (ADs), which are a guide to patients’ wishes for medical decisions during end-of-life care. The data will be presented during a poster presentation at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2019 Supportive Care in Oncology Symposium being held October 25-26 in San Francisco, California.

ASCO recommends that healthcare providers encourage early advance care planning with their patients. However, many cancer patients do not have advance directives, such as a living will or a durable power of attorney. A potential reason for low rates is inadequate communication between the provider and patient. The value of having advance directives is to allow patients to make decisions about their health and quality of life known in the event they are unable to express them.

Researchers used the Patient Care Monitor™ (PCM), Concerto HealthAI’s proprietary, web-based ePRO system that links PRO data to electronic medical record data in real-time, to survey patients as part of routine clinical care at an initial visit to a community-based oncology practice.

“Utilizing patient reported outcomes has become a practical tool to assess the impact of treatment on patient quality of life and understand the factors that can improve communication between providers and patients,” said Joanne Buzaglo, PhD and Executive Director of PRO Solutions at Concerto HealthAI. “This study demonstrates that using an ePRO system can be a non-threatening way to identify potential questions patients have and provide them with useful information about developing advance directives.”

Overall, of the 4,573 patients that completed the PCM survey including the advance directives module, one quarter (26%) reported having an advance directive at the time of the initial visit to the oncology clinic, specifically 10% indicated having a Living Will and 6% a durable power of attorney. The remaining three-fourths (75%) indicated either not having an advance directive (64%) or not knowing if they had an advance directive (10%). Patients with advance directives were more likely to be older (M=68 v. 56 years) and White (79% v. 21% Black). Of the patients without advance directives, 11% requested more information on them and were more likely to be older (M-59 v. 55 years), female (66% v. 34%), Black (55% v. 45% White) and non-married/non-partnered (55% v. 45%).

“The majority of patients do not have ADs at the time of an initial visit to a community-based oncology practice,” said Jeff Elton, CEO of Concerto HealthAI. “This systematic and advanced approach to capturing data can address the gap in provider-patient communication in order to create the best possible care and end-of-life plan together.”

Details of the presentation are below. The full abstract can be accessed on the ASCO 2019 Supportive Care in Oncology Symposium website.

Abstract Number and Title: #5, “Capturing patient advance directives status in a community oncology practice using an electronic patient-reported outcomes (ePRO) system”

Poster Board Number: B2

Session Information: Poster Session A

Session Date and Time: Friday, October 25, 11:45 AM – 1:15 PM; then again from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM PDT

L.E. Wiesenauer’s newly released “Combat PTSD Seeking Jesus” is a poignant healing journey for veterans, their families, and the Christian community

News Image

“Combat PTSD Seeking Jesus”: a beautiful tool that will guide one in coping with PTSD after traumatic phases and renewing their life through God’s strength and power as they go over these pages of mind-clearing messages of healing. “Combat PTSD Seeking Jesus” is the creation of published author L.E. Wiesenauer, a 20-year member of National Alliance on Mental Illness of Madison County as second vice president. He is diagnosed with combat-related PTSD as part of Operation Rolling Thunder’s killing of North Vietnamese civilians. He is also on the advisory board creating awareness regarding need for services for veterans and families experiencing PTSD. Since 2000, he has been writing poetry as therapy and consequences of combat, and transitioned from patient to advocate and poet.

Wiesenauer shares, “Combating PTSD not only affects the veteran as anxiety, depression, memory loss, and nightmares. There are problems with intimacy. It is very difficult for your spouse or significant other not to become very stressed at constantly being awakened by screams and, sometimes, physical abuse. Same as alcoholism, untreated PTSD will create dysfunctional generations.

“NAMI (national alliance on mental illness) provides evidence-based truth that veterans who nourish their faith will do 30–40 percent better at coping with their mental illness and preserving relationships. God has not abandoned you. Lester Sumrall’s favorite quote, ‘Feed your faith and starve your doubts,’ is still true for treating PTSD. I prayed for Jesus to heal my PTSD and found, through answered prayer, that Jesus forgave my terrible sin and healed my spirit.

“I became functional again, and just as Dixie became God’s social worker, I pray for my book Combat PTSD Seeking Jesus to become a path for veterans, their families, and all Christians to realize the healing prayer that God’s love provides. My hope also is congregations across America will acknowledge veterans and their families nourishing them with love and prayer.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, L.E. Wiesenauer’s new book is an inspiring read written for everyone, especially combat veterans and their family, that will allow them to renew their emotional strengths and abilities to be able to carry life again and achieve their goals.

Knotty Roller, the Most Versatile Way to Loosen Knots and Strengthen Muscles, Breaks $30,000 Mark on Kickstarter

News Image

With the Knotty Roller, anyone can take the cost and clutter out of muscle recovery. In short, the Knotty Roller is a single solution complete with six knot-blasting tools…all in one badass roller.

Knotty Roller, the affordable all-in-one muscle recovery system with six tools packed into one ingenious magnetic roller case, quickly broke its campaign goal– raising more than $30,000 on Kickstarter.

“We’re excited to see the response from the crowdfunding community, who’ll be the first to enjoy the ease of use and versatility of our product,” said Knotty Roller CEO and Creator Wesley Wilson, a long-time personal trainer in California who developed the product after suffering his own injury while running.

“During my recovery, I tried out all the different types of foam rollers and massage tools and realized there was a real need for a more versatile product on the market that could be used over the entire body, not require as many individual pieces and be affordable,” Wilson said.

Wilson says there are 200 different ways to use the Knotty Roller, which means there’s no knot that stands a chance.

“When all pieces are together, the Knotty Roller is a dense 24-inch foam roller,” he said. “Then, when you remove the top, it becomes a 24-inch half-dome…with these two taking care of all the big muscle groups.”

In addition, the Knotty Roller includes a massage stick, two different massage balls and a stretch strap. The stretch strap is also used as the knotty roller carrying strap.

Wilson notes that the use of foam rolling is becoming more popular among a wide range of exercise enthusiasts – from someone just hitting the gym a few times a week to professional athletes – for muscle recovery and to strengthen muscles, as well.

“The Knotty Roller also saves you a bundle, since the cost of each one of these premium tools on their own adds up really quick,” Wilson said. “With the Knotty Roller, anyone can take the cost and clutter out of muscle recovery. In short, the Knotty Roller is a single solution complete with six knot-blasting tools…all in one badass roller.”

smarTours

Today, smarTours, the leading provider of value-driven international travel experiences to bucket list destinations, announced the launch of the company’s Battlefields of WWI & WWII tour. The tour will visit locations of world-changing events across five European countries spanning both world wars. The airfare-included tour is truly unique because it visits locations from both world wars, as opposed to other battlefield tours that only visit locations specific to one war, particular battle or geographical area and don’t include airfare.

The 13-day tour visits historic locations across England, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany. History buffs will enjoy highlights such as London’s Imperial War Museum, Churchill War Room and Bunker, Normandy Beaches including Omaha Beach, Dunkirk shores, The Maginot Line, and Ypres (home to the biggest battlefields of WWI and WWII), among many other notable historical locations. Fittingly, this tour ends in Germany, where WWII ended and the Cold War began. A Berlin extension is available where travelers will tour notable locations across East and West Berlin as well as travel to the location of the Potsdam Conference.

Timed to Veterans Day, smarTours is offering a 5 percent discount for veterans and active military. The discount can be used on any departing Battlefields tour.

“One of the top reasons our travelers give for wanting to travel internationally is to learn about the history of the destination. Our Battlefields tour makes it accessible and affordable for any history buff to reach often remote locations on their travel bucket list,” says Kendra Guild, smarTours Director of Product & Operations. “We feel it’s important to offer a discount to veterans and active military, so they can learn more about the history of those who served our country before them.”

The starting price for the airfare included 13-day tour is $3,999 or just $309 a day. smarTours is offering five Battlefields departures that depart April-October 2020. Each tour includes first-class accommodations, ground transportation, English speaking guides, fees for activities and many meals. A 3-day Berlin extension tour is available for an additional $799.

Bieber’s Toothy Garter Removal is as Risky as it is Risqué, says A-Z Dental Care

https://www.prweb.com/

Will his toothy recklessness damage the world-famous Bieber grin?

While the intimate moment might have made for a memorable photo — using teeth for any other purpose than eating risks damaging them.

An October 10 article on People reports on the mildly risqué Instagram post by Justin Bieber in which he is seen removing his new bride’s garter with his teeth. The post confirmed the pop star’s recent marriage to Hailey Baldwin, destroying the dreams of millions of ardent “Beliebers” around the world. West Covina based dental office A-Z Dental Care, however, says that – while the intimate moment might have made for a memorable photo — using teeth for any other purpose than eating risks damaging them, even if the situation seems harmless.

The office explains that human teeth are specially designed to break down specific types of food. A-Z Dental Care says that molars, for example, are largely meant for grinding vegetables or roots, not biting into fabrics or other objects. When a person uses their teeth on an object, their risk for chipping or breaking a tooth gets exponentially higher, the office notes. Common habits such as biting one’s nails are a frequent cause of chipped teeth, the office adds. A-Z Dental Care says that while it is unlikely that a single event will actually destroy a person’s teeth, getting out of the habit of using teeth instead of scissors or a knife will limit the risk of chipping or breaking substantially.

Of course, A-Z Dental Care notes that even the most oral-health conscious person can still experience chipping or breaking, and when it happens its time to visit the dentist. The dental office says that chipped teeth have the potential to break further so it’s important to schedule an appointment with your dentist right away. If a chipped tooth ends up exposing the pulp of the tooth in even a minute amount, the patient’s risk for infection and costly restorative procedures skyrockets. Taking care of a chipped tooth sooner rather than later is always in a patient’s best interests, the office notes.

If a patient experiences a broken or missing tooth, however, the matter is much more urgent, says A-Z Dental Care. Broken teeth have a high risk of causing infection as food particles can get stuck inside of hard-to-reach crevasses, allowing infection-causing bacteria to flourish. The office also notes that missing teeth can lead to bone loss if unchecked for long periods of time, as there is nothing to stimulate bone tissue production in the gap. Getting dental implant as soon as possible can reduce the risk of bone loss and infection considerably while also restoring lost confidence in a patient’s smile and full functionality.

For more information on all of A-Z Dental Care’s services, readers can visit their website at https://www.atozdentalcare.com/ or by calling 626-314-6908.
