Survey Reveals Truth Behind All-Time High Medical Sales Employee Satisfaction

News Image

This year, we found medical sales employee satisfaction is at a record-breaking high. – Karyn Mullins, president at MedReps.

A new survey by MedReps (http://www.medreps.com), a career site for medical sales representatives, revealed Syneos Health, Teleflex, and CONMED as the overall best medical sales companies to work for in 2020.

The 9th Annual Best Places to Work in Medical Sales survey polled over 1,200 professionals from the MedReps community to identify which medical sales companies are currently the most sought-after in the industry.

The survey results also identified the qualities and values most important to medical sales reps today, which led to them voting for their favorite company. In 2020, medical sales reps value work-life balance (83%), supportive and collaborative co-workers (53%), and trustworthy leaders (53%).

“This year, we found medical sales employee satisfaction is at a record-breaking high,” said Karyn Mullins, president at MedReps. “An incredible 90% of medical sales respondents say they’re satisfied with their jobs. We believe this jump is a result of employers focusing on various factors impacting employees, specifically a positive corporate culture through growth opportunities and the ability to make a difference in others’ lives.”

At Syneos Health, employees are developed with a purpose in mind. Leaders frequently show their teams the bigger picture to keep employees inspired and driving forward through challenging work.

“Syneos has a positive company culture allowing individuals to develop and thrive,” one Syneos Health employee explained. “The culture is driven and we’re consistently problem-solving to find ways to create value for our clients. To support this culture, leadership offers clear direction and maintains an honest and open relationship with employees.”

Teleflex also puts people at the center of all it does — one of the most notable commonalities between our winners.

“A key component of our culture is our core values and people are at the center of everything we do,” Mike Cummings, Vice President Human Resources, The Americas at Teleflex, shared. “This hasn’t been a one-year change; this has been a multi-year cultural transformation that people can see and feel.”

Growth opportunities are one of the top two reasons CONMED employees voted for their company. Lisa McCallister, the Talent Acquisition Manager at CONMED, says its leadership’s belief in growing both vertically up the ladder and horizontally to learn new skills impacts employees most.

“Our growth has allowed us to expand our sales force, which created new sales and sales leadership positions. We were able to promote many internal sales reps into those roles,” she explained. “We also believe in moving horizontally to learn and grow. Someone can switch from marketing to finance or HR to sales. When you perform and your strengths align, we always look to continue to grow you in many areas of the organization.”

Notable findings from the survey include:

  • 35% of respondents say the best part about their job is the ability to make a difference/impact.
  • Only 17% said positivity is an important leadership characteristic. Instead, they want them to be honest and trustworthy.
  • A mere 11% of respondents said they are in an active job search.
  • When asked, “What is the best part of your job?” 24% of respondents said “opportunity for growth.”

“Job satisfaction correlates with a low number of medical sales reps actively looking for new jobs, which is pleasantly unusual,” Mullins said. “However, to become a Best Place to Work in the eyes of your employees, it’s still critical to focus on and continually evolve the people-aspects of your organization.”

Loneliness and Social Isolation in the MA Population

Medicare Advantage goes well beyond traditional healthcare, incorporating innovative benefit design to improve the physical and mental health and well-being of America’s seniors while controlling costs,

RAM Technologies, Inc., the perennial leader in the development of enterprise software for Medicare Advantage and Special Needs health plans, is pleased to announce the availability of a new report as part of the “Sharing Knowledge to Improve Healthcare Administration” (SKIHA) program. This month, members of the SKIHA program (free registration) are granted complimentary access to the RAM report, Loneliness and Social Isolation in the MA Population.

Social determinants of health have received a great deal of attention in recent years, with the spotlight typically focused on transportation and access to healthy foods. There are other social determinants however; ones that are not so evident, but carry a heavy weight all the same, loneliness and social isolation. These quieter social determinants afflict all Americans – and Medicare beneficiaries in particular – driving up costs for isolated seniors at a rate similar to high blood pressure and arthritis.

As the number of seniors increases with the aging of Baby Boomers, so does the number of people suffering from loneliness and isolation. Addressing this problem is a critical component of improving physical and mental health and of utmost importance to Medicare Advantage health plans challenged with the difficult task of improving the quality of life for their members while reducing costs.

New models featuring increased innovation and flexibility are being introduced every day to combat these social determinants, and Medicare Advantage health plans are at the forefront of this initiative. This article takes a deeper look at the ways in which healthcare payers are identifying seniors in need and the steps they are taking to forge more connected – and healthier – families and communities. It’s No Spoiler to Say that Good Dental Habits in Youth can Lead to a Lifetime of Bright Smiles, says Dr. Bostani’s Advanced Dental

Dr. Payam Bostani’s Burbank office treats dental patients of all ages.

It’s not a spoiler to say that poor dental hygiene is a surefire path to very real tooth loss as children mature into adulthood and beyond.

A November 15 article on MSN reported on Frozen and The Good Place star Kristen Bell’s lighthearted threat to her children that their teeth would fall out should they reveal Frozen 2 spoilers at school before the movie’s release. The acclaimed young mother of two, noted for her wicked sense of humor, stands by the warning, claiming the children have as of yet not spoiled one of 2019’s most anticipated movies, avoiding a possible Disney lawsuit. Burbank-based dental center Dr. Bostani’s Advanced Dental says that, no matter what a parent might say, movie-star’s children do not actually have to worry about leaked storylines leading to missing teeth. On the other hand, it’s not a spoiler to say that poor dental hygiene is a surefire path to very real tooth loss as children mature into adulthood and beyond.

Dr. Bostani’s Advanced Dental says that parents would do well to teach proper dental hygiene habits to their young children as starting early helps to build lifelong habits that minimize the chances of developing adverse oral conditions such as gum disease or discolored teeth later in life. The dental center adds that parents who are unsure of what constitutes proper brushing and flossing techniques are encouraged to talk to their dentist, but the general rules include brushing teeth for approximately two minutes about 15 to 30 minutes after every meal. The center adds that flossing is also essential in cleaning out areas that are either difficult to reach or inaccessible to a toothbrush and rinsing with an alcohol-free mouthwash may also be a good idea.

The dental center notes that prevention is, of course, the goal, but even patients who diligently stick to their dental routine can still come down with various dental ailments. This is why regular dental exams and cleanings are an essential part of a good oral health regimen, says Dr. Bostani’s Advanced Dental. When bad things happen for any reason, however, the dental center says that Dr. Payam Bostani and his team are ready to offer the best in skilled and compassionate care at his Burbank office for patients of all ages.

The dental center explains that grown-up patients whose basic oral health may be sound but who are unhappy with the appearance of their teeth are also in luck, as advances in cosmetic dentistry and teeth whitening can transform a smile. In short, the center notes that whether patients are looking to treat an issue or avoid one, today’s dentists offer a range of options.

Xtalks Life Science Webinars

Despite pharma companies having access to several internal and external data sources, staff are still working in silos and are not aware of all the data available to them.

Data integration has been a pharma industry buzzword for the last few years. Despite pharma companies having access to several internal and external data sources, staff are still working in silos and are not aware of all the data available to them.

A typical trial feasibility analysis can take six weeks or more, and nearly one-third of qualified investigators may be overlooked. Innovations in data mapping and semantic linking are producing business intelligence tools that aggregate information on sponsors, sites, investigators, trials, publications and presentations, effectively breaking down these silos and helping clinical development teams operate more efficiently.

On Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 11am EST (4pm GMT/UK), join John Coritz, US Data Division Manager at Anju Software for a live session as he addresses the typical challenges of trial feasibility analyses through:

  •     Intelligent, robotic classification of sites, drugs, investigators, sponsors, etc.
  •     Objective scoring and ranking of investigators ranked academic and trial experience
  •     Data mining of clinically relevant scientific publications and presentations
  •     Insightful analytics with low user threshold
  •     Data-driven evidence to improve trial planning and site selection

Interim HealthCare Inc., a national franchisor of home care, hospice and healthcare staffing, is a silver winner of the 2019 Workforce: Optimas Awards. Selected for its multi-pronged approach to building a strong workforce, Interim HealthCare’s commitment to this initiative is first and foremost to help combat the nation’s caregiver shortage. DuPont launches all-round ingredient solutions for plant-based innovation

With our solutions, food companies can produce delicious and safe foods that are good for health and the planet today. The focus is on making even better use of resources, improving access to nutrition and exciting consumer taste buds.

DuPont Nutrition & Biosciences has built a new plant-based solutions portfolio to help food producers meet the growing demand for healthier, more sustainable foods and beverages that are meat and dairy-free. The portfolio – a comprehensive launch pad for new product development – will be presented at Food Ingredients Europe 2019, where a selection of innovative plant-based concepts will give visitors a taste of the potential.

The global sales growth forecast for the plant-based sector is huge. As more consumers choose a flexitarian, vegetarian or vegan diet, Euromonitor estimates the market total value at USD 23 billion with growth rate close to 9%.

Innovation beyond meat and dairy alternatives

Among millennials, the desire for healthy and sustainable food solutions is also moving the market beyond plant-based alternatives that mimic meat or dairy. The rise of fermented products is a prime example of that. Through the fermentation of numerous vegetable bases, manufacturers can create exciting new tastes and textures.

“Using our plant-based solutions, food manufacturers can redefine existing products or create entirely new categories that give consumers a wider range of choices. If the plant-based movement is to have a long-term impact on health and sustainability, we need to provide more options so consumers can quickly identify their personal preferences and speed up change in their purchasing habits,” says Sonia Huppert, Global Marketing Leader for Plant-Based Health at DuPont.

A comprehensive portfolio – ready to sample

The DuPont plant-based solutions comprise a comprehensive portfolio of plant proteins, cultures, probiotics, enzymes and stabilizing solutions that deliver all-round nutritional and functional benefits.

At Food Ingredients Europe, visitors to the DuPont stand will be inspired by a range of tasty plant-based samples developed by a chef: flammable tacos, favourite ‘fish’ soup, croque mon père, vegetable protein on a mushroom landscape, iced caffe latte, and a creamy dessert with granola. All exclusively made with animal-free ingredients.

The plant-based opportunities link with the DuPont platforms for digestive health and clean label solutions, which the stand will also highlight.

Solving tomorrow’s challenges today

“We all talk about the need to secure the global food supply for the future. With our solutions, food companies can produce delicious and safe foods that are good for health and the planet today. The focus is on making even better use of resources, improving access to nutrition and exciting consumer taste buds,” says Huppert, with reference to the DuPont ‘Invent a Better N:OW’ campaign.

► The DuPont team invite visitors to join their tasting sessions at Food Ingredients Europe on 3-5 December 2019 in Paris. The sessions will be held each day at 11.30am and 2pm on the DuPont stand, number 6C90.
