Air Transport Services Group Partners With OurHealth, Reopens Its Onsite Primary Care Clinic for Employees

OurHealth MyClinic

OurHealth MyClinic locations are found in popular retail and business centers. There are four MyClinic locations in the Greater Cincinnati area.

We believe that taking care of our employees is the right thing to do and leads to better productivity and efficiency—so it’s a win-win all around.

Through a partnership with Indianapolis-based OurHealth, Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) has reopened an onsite primary care clinic at their Wilmington Air Park facility. Nearly 1,000 employees and their family members will have access to the renovated health center as well as four other locations throughout the Greater Cincinnati area.

Named OurHealth @ Wilmington Air Park, the onsite clinic begins operations today and will provide comprehensive primary and immediate care medical services to covered ATSG employees and their families.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing this important benefit back,” said Joe Hete, Chief Executive Officer at ATSG. “We’ve experienced first-hand the impact that accessible, convenient and high-quality care has on people’s well being and overall quality of life. We believe that taking care of our employees is the right thing to do and lowers their out of pocket healthcare cost—so it’s a win-win all around.”

OurHealth entered the Cincinnati market in early 2019 with the launch of its industry-leading system of near-site primary care clinics, called the MyClinic network, which includes locations in Springdale, Kings Mills, Green Township and at Fourth and Main Streets in downtown Cincinnati. In addition to their onsite clinic at Wilmington Air Park, covered ATSG employees and their families will have access to all four Cincinnati MyClinic locations.

ATSG is the latest addition to OurHealth’s growing presence in Southwest Ohio. Last month OurHealth announced a partnership with Delhi Township, Ohio. Other Cincinnati area clients include First Financial Bank, Rumpke and Hamilton County, Ohio.

“We’re excited to be partnering with ATSG to provide care for their employees and their families,” said Ben Evans, OurHealth Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder. “We’re confident they’ll love the experience, and we can’t wait to build relationships that will have a lasting impact on their health, and of course their bottom line.”

Employers are attracted to OurHealth’s model for three key reasons — improved access to care for their employees and their dependents, independence from any hospital system or network allowing for unbiased referrals and robust reporting capabilities that allow business owners to easily understand their return on investment.

OurHealth clients enjoy an average savings of 17 percent on health plan costs through better management of chronic conditions, ER avoidance and reduced lab and drug costs. The company is on a mission to save employers $1 billion in healthcare costs, and to date has saved its clients more than $180 million. In 2019 alone OurHealth produced a total of $39 million in employer savings.

The company takes a patient-focused approach to care, including waiting room times of less than five minutes, appointments that average 20 to 40 minutes and a patient satisfaction score of 98 percent. OurHealth clients include a wide range of employers of all sizes and industries, including Anthem, Harris Teeter, CNO Financial Group and the Indianapolis Airport Authority.

Expert Biomimetic Dentist Dr. Matt Nejad Expands his Education and Training with More Offerings Across the United States in 2020, Re brands as The Nejad Institute

News Image

I am excited to respond to the increased demand for my biomimetic training by offering more courses across the U.S. for 2020. Rebranding to The Nejad Institute is the next step in my vision for providing the highest caliber training, says Nejad.

Fresh from his sold-out Fall 2019 biomimetic dentistry classes in London and Beverly Hills, Dr. Matt Nejad, leading expert and educator in cosmetic and biomimetic dentistry, is expanding his education and training offerings with a rebrand as The Nejad Institute with a new website at http://www.nejadinstitute.com.

Dentists from around the world attend Dr. Nejad’s sold-out classes to learn how to treat damaged, broken and decayed teeth and return them to their original strength, function, esthetics and biomechanical properties. His students gain advanced clinical and practice skills that provide them with an invaluable competitive advantage.

“I am excited to respond to the increased demand for my biomimetic training by offering more courses across the U.S. for 2020. Rebranding to The Nejad Institute is the next step in my vision for providing the highest caliber training and establishing a research-based educational institute for advanced study. Attendees will learn how the biomimetic approach greatly reduces complications caused by traditional dental techniques, and how to save teeth from additional treatments and more invasive options,” says Nejad. “The biomimetic approach is the future of dentistry, and more clinicians want to provide their patients with this highest level of dentistry. I’m honored to be able to teach it and help advance the quality of dental care.”

Dr. Nejad’s 2020 class schedule is as follows:

  • Miami, FL: May 1 and May 2-3
  • Manhattan, NY: May 29 and May 30-31
  • Irvine, CA: June 25-28
  • Chicago, IL: August 7, August 8-9
  • San Jose, CA: September 25, September 26-27
  • Irvine, CA: December 3-6

The Nejad Institute currently educates dentists from around the globe in biomimetic restorative dentistry and biomimetic esthetic dentistry. It will soon be adding occlusion and design training. Dr. Nejad is also incorporating mentorship programs and an annual symposium for dentists who have previously completed his training.

The Nejad Institute’s vision is to provide education, training and research in the biomimetic approach and prepare clinicians to confidently implement the knowledge and techniques in their practices. Biomimetic dentistry offers patients the tangible benefits of keeping their natural teeth as long as possible while avoiding unnecessary root canals and other invasive procedures. More and more patients are realizing the benefits of this approach and demand has, therefore, been increasing steadily.

Although some dental institutes have incorporated biomimetic dentistry, most clinicians in practice have had almost no exposure to the updated biomimetic science and techniques.

Dr. Nejad’s biomimetic approach shows how, through extremely strong adhesive bonds, teeth can be restored. He emphasizes preserving intact tooth structure and pulp vitality and creating adhesive restorations that mimic natural teeth in strength, function and biomechanical properties. This is in sharp contrast to traditional prosthodontic retention and stabilization form.

More about Dr. Nejad:

Dr. Matt Nejad is a renowned biomimetic dentist and speaker with an upscale practice in Beverly Hills, CA. His practice offers a full range of cosmetic and general dental care services. Dr. Nejad is well-known for providing superior cosmetic dental treatments and for his knowledge as a leading expert in biomimetic dentistry.

Dr. Matt Nejad graduated from the USC School of Dentistry, receiving recognition for earning the most clinical experience in prosthodontics, cosmetic and advanced reconstructive cases. He completed a comprehensive esthetic and biomimetic training program with Dr. Pascal Magne, a world leader in these fields. Dr. Nejad has been lecturing and teaching training courses in biomimetic dentistry since 2012.

AltMed Florida Opens its Newest MÜV™ Medical Cannabis Dispensary in Downtown Orlando Saturday, Jan. 4

AltMed Florida Dispensary Design

We’re excited that our new downtown location is near Amway Arena and Orlando’s Church Street Station entertainment district and that we’re part of the revitalization in the area.

AltMed Florida, one of the fastest growing Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers (MMTC) in Florida (source: OMMU), has announced the grand opening of its newest MÜV™ Medical Cannabis Dispensary at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020 at 101 S. Garland Ave., Suite 110 in Orlando.

We’re excited that our new downtown location is near Amway Arena and Orlando’s Church Street Station entertainment district and that we’re part of the revitalization in the area,” said AltMed Marketing Director Todd Beckwith. “In addition to serving patients coming into town to enjoy the nightlife and daily commuters, nearby residents can also enjoy this state-of-the-art MÜV Dispensary.”

The downtown location is the second AltMed Florida has opened in the Orlando area – previously opening a MÜV Medical Cannabis Dispensary last May at 1090 S. State Rd. 434 in Longwood, Florida – the company’s first to feature a drive-thru window.

The Orlando MÜV Dispensary will offer an extensive selection of award-winning products including flower, pre-rolls, a wide range of vaporizer pens, metered dose inhalers, topicals, oral sprays, patent-pending encapsulation formulations in its Tinctures, 72-Hour Transdermal patches and transdermal gels. MÜV is also recognized for having one of the widest selections of concentrates for patients needing macro-dosing options.

“Our dispensaries set the standard for quality products, service and overall patient experience at our current locations and we’re excited to offer our premium MÜV medical cannabis brand to even more people as we expand our presence across central Florida…especially along the Interstate 4 Corridor,” said AltMed Florida CEO John Tipton. “Our MÜV dispensaries are unlike anything in the state and we’re excited to invite licensed patients throughout Orange County and the surrounding areas to visit our newest state-of-the-art location in downtown Orlando.”

Like AltMed Florida’s 11 other locations (Apollo Beach, Clearwater, Fort Myers, Gainesville, Jacksonville/San Marco, Jacksonville Beach, Lakeland, Longwood, Sarasota, Tampa and Wellington/West Palm), the new downtown Orlando MÜV Dispensary stands out from others because it’s designed as a premium experience. Think Apple store, with a modern, open-concept design and expert staff with extensive training.

During the grand opening, all licensed Florida medical cannabis patients will receive 25 percent off their entire first purchase and the first 100 patients will receive a MÜV SWAG bag with their purchase. Patients can also order online at MÜVFL.com for express pickup or delivery.

The MÜV brand already has a wide following in other legal medical cannabis markets, including Arizona, where it has won five Best of Arizona medical cannabis awards. MÜV products are sold exclusively in Florida at MÜV dispensaries because, unlike other states, Florida does not allow wholesale of product between license holders – only products that license holders make themselves can be sold in their dispensaries.

For more information about the new ADA-compliant MÜV Medical Cannabis Dispensary in downtown Orlando, including hours and available MÜV products, visit MÜVFL.com.

AltMed Florida is on pace to open 40 MÜV Medical Cannabis Dispensaries across the state, all supplied by its 200,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art cultivation facility. Liberty IT Solutions Awarded $35M Data Migration and Syndication Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) Support Services Task Order

Liberty IT Solutions, LLC (Liberty), which specializes in Health Information Technology, has been awarded a five-year (12-month Base Period plus four 12-month Option Periods) Task Order to support Data Migration (DM) and Data Syndication (DS) for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program.

With the imminent deployment of the Cerner EHR to replace the Veterans Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA), VA’s Cerner users (e.g. doctors, nurses, administrators, or other support staff) require a complete set of clinical, administrative, and financial data from across the VA Enterprise. Liberty’s support of continuous data migration from legacy VistA domains to the shared Cerner platform will enable clinical decision support, health registries, and many other key initiatives. Additionally, many VA programs and systems (e.g. Community Care, Suicide Prevention, clinical research and quality groups, etc.) will depend on data captured through VA’s Cerner implementation sites. Liberty’s delivery of Data Syndication services will enable a complete record of data residing within VA systems in support of VA programs and objectives.

Liberty CEO, Bill Greene says of the win: “Data migration and syndication is an important aspect of VA’s EHRM modernization effort, and Liberty is excited to improve DM and DS over the next five years as we deliver the safe and accurate transmission and maintenance of VA data.”

Liberty and partner Leidos, Inc. will maintain and improve VA system architectures, support new data sources originating outside of VA, and establish new solutions to achieve VA’s data consolidation objectives.

After a Diagnosis of Premature Menopause at Age 26, Couple Turns to National Leader in Donor Egg Treatment to Help Them Build Their Family

Jordan and Josh of Uniontown, PA conceive with Shady Grove Fertility’s Donor Egg program.

Through an egg donor, an individual or couple at SGF can select a fully medically, genetically, and psychologically prescreened egg donor who best suits their family and is ready to cycle and donate, without the wait.

Jordan and Josh of Uniontown, PA, knew it wouldn’t be easy to start a family of their own. At the young age of 26, Jordan was diagnosed with premature ovarian failure (POF), also known as primary ovarian insufficiency (POI)—a condition in which ovulation and menses end before the age of 40. Women who develop this have a severely diminished or depleted egg supply in their ovaries.

“Prior to my diagnosis, it was always my biggest dream to have children,” says Jordan. “When I initially learned I would need an egg donor, I was absolutely devastated. Years went by and I saw various doctors, but none of them seemed inclined to help me or give me any hope. After I married my husband, Josh, we got more serious about starting a family, and decided to go straight to the best. We sought out treatment with Dr. Jason Bromer at Shady Grove Fertility.”

“SGF offers truly compassionate, personalized care. We understand the intimate nature of fertility treatment and try to exhibit compassion and empathy at every turn. When it comes to premature ovarian failure, donor egg treatment is the only effective infertility treatment,” said Jason Bromer, M.D., who sees patients in SGF’s Frederick and Hagerstown, MD, locations.

Donor egg treatment is intended for women who are unable to use their own eggs for conception but can still carry a child. Through an egg donor, an individual or couple at SGF can select a fully medically, genetically, and psychologically prescreened egg donor who best suits their family and is ready to cycle and donate, without the wait. While SGF’s donor registry de-identifies the donors, the donor registry provides prospective recipients (the intended parents) with a wealth of information about the donor, including, in many cases, adult photos.

SGF is one of only a few centers in the nation that selects and prescreens its own egg donors prior to making them available on their donor registry. Much more commonly, fertility centers rely on an agency to select donors, which adds significant costs, passed on to the intended parents. “While neither recipients nor donors are given any identifying information about one another, at SGF the recipients are given a wealth of information about the donor, such as medical and family history, education, physical characteristics, in order to aid in the selection process,” says Michele Purcell, MHA, RN, Director, Specialty Programs at SGF.

Once Dr. Bromer explained the donor egg process, Jordan and Josh said they felt encouraged to move forward with their treatment plan and the support of the SGF team. They were thrilled to find out that their first cycle was a success.

“I sobbed with happiness; I could barely believe it. We had our miracle baby girl, and plan on using another of our three remaining embryos to give her a sibling in the future. She is the light of our lives, our greatest gift from God, and our reason for existing,” said Jordan.

Jordan reflected on her experience and how having a child via donor egg treatment was the best decision she has ever made.

“If I could go back in time years earlier, hopeless and beside myself with sadness, I would tell myself that there’s nothing to be sad about because the greatest joy you’ve ever known is just ahead. I would tell myself to hang in there and have faith. I would never trade our story for another. Our little girl is perfect in every way, and I am SO happy that we had this beautiful chapter in our lives. I am grateful every single day, and never take it for granted,” adds Jordan.

Thousands of SGF patients have become parents thanks to the generosity of egg donors, whom are compensated generously by SGF for their time, effort, and commitment, not for their actual oocytes/eggs. SGF compensates its donors at various points throughout the prescreening and donation process.

“As I was contemplating donating my eggs, friends and family reminded me to never underestimate the impact that I could have on someone else’s life. Funny, as now, I feel like my life has also been forever changed. By giving something so precious away to someone in need, I felt immeasurable, indescribable joy in return,” adds one former SGF egg donor.

Under SGF’s stringent screening requirements, any woman between the ages of 21-32 who meets certain criteria and has knowledge of her family history may be considered for egg donation. A short online application with a prompt reply identifies if a candidate is pre-qualified to become an egg donor at SGF. Once pre-qualified, all egg donor candidates must complete a comprehensive personal and family medical history questionnaire. “We take our screening process very seriously and are intentionally selective in order to try and protect the health of the baby and the intended mother,” adds Purcell.

SGF, a pioneer in offering an IVF treatment financial guarantee for donor egg, makes treatment affordable through their exclusive Shared Donor Egg Program and Shared Risk 100% Refund Program for Donor Egg Treatment. With an IVF treatment guarantee, participants take home a baby or receive a 100% refund. Combined, these two programs offer patients up to six donor egg cycles for one flat amount at a 40% savings. SGF’s Donor Egg Program provides patients with a highly effective treatment to overcome infertility, with a 60% clinical pregnancy rate per embryo transfer.

To learn more about SGF’s Donor Egg Treatment Program, information seekers and/or current SGF patients may attend a free patient seminar in SGF’s newest Manhattan, NY office on Thursday, January 23, 2020. Dr. Anate Brauer, board certified reproductive endocrinologist, will provide an in-depth look into donor egg treatment at SGF. Attendees can ask questions one-on-one with Dr. Brauer following the seminar, and all attendees will be entered into a raffle to win $1,000 off their donor egg treatment cycle.

To learn more or schedule a new patient consult, contact the SGF New Patient Center at 1-888-761-1967 or complete a brief online form.

100 YEARS OF YOGA IN THE WEST — Self-Realization Fellowship Celebrates Centennial Anniversary — Founded in 1920 by Paramahansa Yogananda

What Paramahansa Yogananda brought to the West,” says SRF President Brother Chidananda, “is perhaps one of the greatest gifts to humankind – India’s ancient science of Yoga, the science of knowing the Self.”

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the arrival in the West of Paramahansa Yogananda – regarded as the father of Yoga in the West, whose best-selling classic, Autobiography of a Yogi, continues to be the definitive introduction to yoga meditation for millions of seekers around the globe.

The year also marks the centennial anniversary of Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF), the international society he founded to disseminate his yoga meditation teachings and to foster bonds of cultural and spiritual understanding between East and West.

“What Paramahansa Yogananda brought to the West,” says SRF President Brother Chidananda, “is perhaps one of the greatest gifts to humankind – India’s ancient science of Yoga, the science of knowing the Self, of realizing and experiencing who we truly are, divine souls with unlimited potential.”

A number of commemorative events are being planned in more than 600 venues worldwide for this milestone anniversary, including: a livestreamed inaugural ceremony on January 5 (the birth anniversary of Yogananda); special Centennial Open Houses featuring guided meditations and kirtans (devotional chanting) in mid-January; International Day of Yoga events in June, public lecture programs on the teachings of Yogananda presented by SRF monastics, scheduled for the spring and fall; a centennial-themed World Convocation in July, and a Centennial Commemoration Weekend in September to mark the actual date of Sri Yogananda’s arrival in America on September 19, 1920. Details of the events can be found at https://yogananda.org/srfcentennial.

Background of Paramahansa Yogananda’s Work in the West

Paramahansa Yogananda arrived in America from his native India on September 19, 1920 to serve as India’s delegate to an International Congress of Religious Liberals convening in Boston. His maiden speech, on the science of religion, would later be described by the Congress organizers as “forcible” and “impressive.” His subsequent talks on the universality of religion and the efficacy of yoga meditation would receive media coverage in all the major newspapers in the U.S. and draw thousands of seekers who filled the nation’s largest auditoriums to capacity to hear him speak.

He founded Self-Realization Fellowship the same year as his arrival to introduce to people of all races, cultures, and creeds the ancient science and philosophy of Yoga, that through practice of universally applicable methods of meditation they might realize and express more fully in their lives the true divinity of the human spirit.

During his more than 30 years in the U.S., Yogananda made America his adopted home and sought to bring unity to the world through his focus on the science and universality of religion, and to teach the 5,000-year tradition of yoga philosophy and its techniques of meditation. His pioneering efforts – including his numerous lectures, writings and the many temples and centers he established – have profoundly contributed to the ever-increasing interest in yoga and meditation today, with more than 36 million practitioners of yoga in the U.S. and 18 million people who regularly meditate.

His internationally acclaimed life story, Autobiography of a Yogi, remains one of the most widely regarded spiritual classics, influencing a diverse range of luminaries, from Nobel Laureate Thomas Mann to opera star Amelita Galli-Curci to Beatle George Harrison to Apple Founder Steve Jobs (who left instructions for all those attending his memorial service to be gifted with a copy of Yogananda’s book). Among the many other works by Paramahansa Yogananda are the highly acclaimed commentaries on the Bhagavad Gita, God Talks With Arjuna, and the four Gospels, The Second Coming of Christ: The Resurrection of the Christ Within You; and the three-volume series of Collected Talks and Essays on Realizing God in Daily Life.

From its humble beginnings in Boston, SRF, along with its sister organization Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (which Yogananda founded three years earlier in 1917), has grown over the course of its 100-year history to include more than 800 temples, ashrams, retreats, and meditation centers in more than 60 countries around the globe.

Today, the society, under the direction of its president, Brother Chidananda, publishes Yogananda’s writings, lectures, and informal talks (including the Self-Realization Fellowship Lessons), Self-Realization magazine, and other publications related to his teachings; conducts worldwide lecture tours, retreats, and youth programs; and oversees the SRF Worldwide Prayer Circle, whose members around the world pray for the well-being of individuals and world peace. An annual World Convocation is held each summer in Los Angeles, attracting upwards of 4,000 participants each year. In addition, SRF/YSS annually contributes to many local, national, and international charitable causes.

The Government of India has paid tribute to the life and work of Paramahansa Yogananda on three occasions, most recently in October of 2019 when it issued a special commemorative coin to commemorate Yogananda’s 125th birth anniversary, https://yogananda.org/blog/indias-finance-minister-releases-coin-commemorating-paramahansa-yogananda.

Lifecycle Biotechnologies Completes Full Integration of Chata Biosystems and VI Plastics

News Image

By operating under one company, we will simplify partner ordering and logistics without compromising the superior quality of our products and manufacturing processes.

With the integration, the company will continue to provide custom and semi-custom aqueous reagents, chemicals, and medias, as well as medical grade plastic products to the world’s leading pharmaceutical, medical device, biologics, diagnostics, cellular agriculture, and cell- and tissue-based product manufacturers.

“We are excited to bring even more advantages and convenience to our partners and supply chain,” said Cody Yarborough, CEO for Lifecycle Biotechnologies. “By operating under one company, we will simplify partner ordering and logistics without compromising the superior quality of our products and manufacturing processes.”

Lifecycle’s integration efforts will provide partners with more and enhanced product offerings under a unified marketing message. It will also align the way Lifecycle operates internally around its four major market divisions; Biopharmaceuticals, Cellular Agriculture, Industrial, and Regenerative Medicine. As these divisions continue to evolve, Lifecycle will be positioned at the forefront with its innovative products and industry relevant subject matter experts. The integration will also provide a higher and more intimate level of service across the organization to its partner base.

This is a natural evolution for the company since all brands will now be fully integrated. Following is a listing of the major changes that are part of this integration:

New legal name for Chata Biosystems and VI Plastics

Both Chata Biosystems and VI Plastics have officially changed their names to Lifecycle Biotechnologies, LP. This is a change in name and not a change in ownership. The products, the staff, and the facilities will remain the same.

Supplier qualification/requalification process

The name change may require that Lifecycle is set up as a new vendors. Lifecycle will do all it possibly can to support this activity. Lifecycle’s Quality Department personnel are available to provide information or to help in completing the supplier qualification paperwork.

ISO certificates

Lifecycle’s current ISO9001 and ISO13485 certificates already reflect Lifecycle Biotechnologies. Copies of these certificates can be download from their website at ISO9001 and ISO13485.

Packaging and documents

Chata Biosystems and VI Plastics will be utilizing the Lifecycle Biotechnologies name on all Packaging, COAs, SDSs, Quotes, Invoices, Packing Lists and all other documents. All documentation will show the Lifecycle Biotechnologies name and logo. It is possible during this transition that partners may see a Chata or VI Plastics logo on something, but by the end of Q1 2020 this should no longer occur.

Remit to address

As part of this integration Lifecycle is streamlining all accounting correspondence through their Fort Worth, Texas facility. Lifecycle will also be updating their banking information to align with the integration. This pertains to their partners remitting payment against invoices, or their vendors issuing invoices. The address to use for all accounting correspondence is:

Lifecycle Biotechnologies

Attn: Accounting

425 Houston Street, Suite 550

Fort Worth, TX 76102

Contact Lifecycle by e-mail at info@lifecyclebio.com, call them at 817.840.7855, or chat with them at http://www.lifecyclebio.com for help, further information, or for details pertaining to banking accounts and wire transfers.

Lifecycle understand that these types of changes are often a little burdensome; and asks for patience as they move closer to combining all of our services within one Lifecycle to give their partners seamless access to all of their products. As they prepare for the next decade with a vision for the future, Lifecycle Biotechnologies looks forward to continued excellence and expansion.

Based in Ft. Worth, TX, Lifecycle Biotechnologies has served the life science industry for over 40 years. Lifecycle’s products are the beginning of the lifecycle of the lifesaving and life-enhancing medical products used globally today. As a leading life sciences tools and service supplier, Lifecycle fully understands the critical role its products play in many of the world’s leading pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biologics, diagnostics, cellular agriculture, cell- and tissue-based products, and many other medical products. While Lifecycle’s products aren’t used to diagnose, treat, or cure patients, without their contribution, none of this would be possible.
