Cognosante Awarded Veterans Health Administration High Reliability Organization Support BPA

VA has established a Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) Blanket Purchasing Agreement (BPA) with Cognosante to provide advisory and assistance services (A&AS) to the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) to facilitate its transformation into a high reliability organization (HRO). Under the BPA, Cognosante and its teaming partners will work with VHA to conduct facilitated assessments of VA Medical Centers and develop and execute customized implementation plans to facilitate the establishment of HRO principles throughout. The team will also provide coaching, training, sustainment plans, and other support services. The BPA carries a total estimated value of $98 million.

Cognosante is committed to delivering solutions that optimize the quality of healthcare to our nation’s Veterans. “We are proud to support the VHA – the largest integrated healthcare system in the country – in its mission to provide Veterans with critical healthcare services in the most safe and reliable environments possible,” says James Gordon, President of Cognosante.

Cognosante has partnered with several prominent organizations: Safe and Reliable Healthcare, the Institute for Safe Medication Practice, and Intermountain Healthcare, to support this effort. The entire project team includes, in addition to the aforementioned, Pharos Group, Inc., TechWerks LLC, Ipsos, Health Care Management Solutions, LLC., and Jeff Wright Consulting. “We are bringing a deep bench of seasoned experts who understand the complexity of healthcare delivery, at a leadership level, an organizational level, and at the front lines. This unique expertise positions us well to support the VHA in its high reliability journey,” said Steve Schliesman, General Manager of Cognosante’s Military and Veterans Health Business Unit.

VHA is currently pursuing enterprise-wide high reliability organization transformation as part of a large-scale modernization effort. High Reliability Healthcare Organizations are committed to pursuing an environment of zero preventable harm. The requirements to achieve high reliability in healthcare can be summarized into three broad domains: leadership, process, and culture. Cognosante is currently supporting several modernization efforts at VA, including the development of a community care referral and authorization system, and electronic health record development.

“The results of his work will show the potential for the technology to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the work done at the pre-clinical phase of radiopharmaceutical drug discovery.”

One Million Solutions in Health presents Dr. Stephen Adler, PhD, discussing “New Dose Calibrator for Radioactive Tracers in Biodistribution Studies that Can Increase Accuracy 10-Fold ” from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in a webinar.

This One Million Solutions in Health webinar introduced a ground-breaking new dose calibrator for radioactive tracers in biodistribution studies that has the potential to advance the technology to a new level of sensitivity, accuracy and range for small radiation doses.

A micro-dose calibrator is designed to improve radiation dose measurements used in pre-clinical in-vivo and ex-vivo radiopharmaceutical drug development studies.

Using the patented concept of a segmented well counter, the radiation measurement upper limits hindering the use of a standard single crystal well counter have been eliminated.

The current research into this new technology will be presented by Dr. Adler who has built a fully operational 8 crystal segment micro-dose calibrator to test his invention.

The results of his work will show the potential for the technology to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the work done at the pre-clinical phase of radiopharmaceutical drug discovery.

New Report Details Hospice Industry Outlook for 2020, an Aging Media Network Publication

News Image

Based on our regular conversations with hospice professionals, it was no surprise to learn from the survey response that staffing challenges and revenue cycle management are going to be the most critical areas for hospice operations in the year ahead.

Hospice News, an Aging Media Network publication, is pleased to announce the results of its first-ever outlook survey on the state of the hospice market.

Conducted in collaboration with Dallas-based Homecare Homebase, the survey gathers the opinions of more than 300 industry professionals including owners, executive leadership, managers and staff, polled about their hospice care industry outlook for 2020.

The report on the survey results includes highlights on where industry stakeholders foresee challenges in the year ahead, which non-home settings they see as most ripe for hospice service growth, their preparation for the upcoming Medicare Advantage hospice carve-in, where they see referral growth potential, and more.

In summary, respondents indicated:

  • Staffing is the greatest challenge to the hospice industry in 2020
  • Hospice providers see a big opportunity for growth in assisted living settings, as well as nursing facility settings in the year ahead
  • Industry participants see electronic health and medical records offering hospice providers their best ROI opportunity in terms of technology investments

“Based on our regular conversations with hospice professionals, it was no surprise to learn from the survey response that staffing challenges and revenue cycle management are going to be the most critical areas for hospice operations in the year ahead. It was interesting to see the vast growth potential that respondents are seeing both in terms of alternative hospice settings and new referral partnerships,” said Hospice News Editor Jim Parker

The full survey results are available here.

How to Stay Together Forever

There are ten key factors that play a role in relationship satisfaction, but having similar values and complementary differences, meeting emotional needs, and expressing appreciation are the most important.

Sexual compatibility is important to a relationship, but not as much as having congruous personalities and values.

Make it a point to count your blessings, remember why you love your partner, what you appreciate about him or her, and what he/she brings to your life – and then express it.

Many people mistakenly believe that Vatsyayana’s Kama Sutra focused exclusively on titillating, Cirque-de-Soleil-esque sex positions. However, he also provided guidance on how to find a partner, how to earn said partner’s trust, how to achieve emotional fulfillment, and whether reconnecting with an ex-lover is worth the effort. Even back in ancient times, it was understood that relationship happiness depended on a number of factors, not just a partner’s ability to pull off the Janakurpara position. Sensual satisfaction is most certainly a contributing factor – ranked 5th in a study conducted by Queendom.com – but it’s the intangibles that seem to matter more.

Analyzing data from 2,560 people who took the Relationship Satisfaction Test, Queendom researchers used multiple regression statistical methods to identify the relationship factors that most strongly differentiate happy couples from unhappy ones.

TOP 10 PREDICTORS OF RELATIONSHIP SATISFACTION

#1: Whether the differences between the partners – in terms of personality, skills, and social preferences – are viewed as complementary

#2: The degree to which each partner’s emotional needs are being fulfilled, which includes feeling loved, secure, accepted, supported, listened to, valued, and desired

#3: Having similar values

#4: The degree to which the partners express appreciation for each other

#5: How often the couple has sex, the quality of the sex, and whether the partners have the freedom to express their sexual desires and fantasies

#6: Having shared interests and activities

#7: Being able to talk freely and openly, and to share a contrasting opinion without being mocked, rejected, or yelled at

#8: The level of trust between the partners

#9: The degree of intellectual compatibility

#10: Being able to get along with a partner’s relatives

“Each of these factors plays an important role in relationship satisfaction. However, our statistical analyses revealed that the top four aspects had the strongest impact. Essentially, it’s in these areas where happy and unhappy couples differed the most,” explains Dr. Jerabek, president of PsychTests, the parent company of Queendom. “This means that if you and your partner are alike in terms of your values, are meeting each other’s emotional needs, are making it a point to appreciate one another, and are able to achieve balance in terms of your personality differences, then you’re already well on your way to a happy relationship. The rest of the factors are simply the icing on an already delicious cake. Of course, the conditions of each of these elements are entirely subjective. Some couples don’t need to talk very much in order to be happy, or to have sex three times a day – to each their own. What matters is what works for your relationship, and whether you are able to find balance. Opposites do attract, but when a couple is unable to bridge their differences, and are unwilling to meet each other halfway, that’s when problems start. The most important point here is that happy couples appreciate their differences, and are able to view them as complementary. They find the silver lining, instead of lamenting over how their partner lacks this or that. Couples who have been together for a long time have the advantage – and the experience – of knowing how to meet each other’s needs, but only if they are both willing to put in the effort. So our advice is, don’t just go through the motions this Valentine’s Day. Make it a point to count your blessings, remember why you love your partner, what you appreciate about him or her, and what he/she brings to your life – and then express it.”

Dr. Robert Glasgold Listed Among NJ Monthly Magazine’s “Select Plastic Surgeons”

Dr. Robert Glasgold of the Glasgold Group receives recognition of NJ Select Top Doctor 2020

The official New Jersey Select Top Doctor 2020 Badge

My goal in all procedures is to create great, natural-looking results. In rhinoplasty, this is dependent on changing a nose from a dominant facial feature to one where it complements the rest of the face.

The Glasgold Group, a Princeton plastic surgery center that has been serving patients since the 1960s, is proud to announce that Dr. Robert A. Glasgold was recently recognized as one of NJ Monthly Magazine’s “Select Plastic Surgeons” for 2020. The recognition was given for Dr. Glasgold’s excellence in rhinoplasty, which is known as one of the most challenging plastic surgeries to perform and master.

Rhinoplasty, also known as a “nose job,” is performed to reshape the nose for an improved appearance and/or enhanced breathing and function. Because the nose is the most prominent facial feature and affects a person’s facial balance, rhinoplasty must be carefully customized to suit each patient’s exact needs. It is extremely difficult to create a natural-looking result from rhinoplasty, but Dr. Robert Glasgold is known for his artistry and his ability to create a beautiful nose for each patient. He is fellowship-trained and specializes in this popular and versatile procedure.

During the rhinoplasty consultation process, Dr. Glasgold takes the time to get to know his patients and to truly understand their needs. He uses advanced imaging software to help them visualize the possible results of their rhinoplasty and ensures that all of their questions and concerns are addressed fully. This commitment to communication helps to ensure that Dr. Glasgold and his patients are on the same page and working toward the same goals.

Dr. Glasgold notes that there’s nothing more important than customizing the rhinoplasty procedure:

“My goal in all procedures is to create great, natural-looking results. In rhinoplasty, this is dependent on changing a nose from a dominant facial feature to one where it complements the rest of the face. Patients frequently note that after surgery their favorite features, be it their eyes, mouth or cheekbones, now shine through.”

The acclaimed Glasgold Group plastic surgery center in Princeton, NJ, is run by Robert Glasgold, MD, FACS, and his brother, Mark Glasgold, MD, FACS, who also made the NJ Monthly Magazine’s list of top plastic surgeons in 2019. The practice was founded and run by their father, Dr. Alvin Glasgold, for decades and continues to flourish due to the brothers’ commitment to surgical excellence and unparalleled patient care.

At the Glasgold Group, patients can choose from a variety of facial surgeries and procedures, including rhinoplasty, facelift, eyelid surgery, browlift, injectable treatments, and much more. Drs. Robert and Mark Glasgold enjoy helping their patients achieve positive change and lead to more confident lives.

First Dedicated CBD Store In Illinois Relaunches as 180 Pure at Deer Park Town Center

180 Pure Products

We invest in our products and customer experience because we know that our consumers invest in us

The first dedicated CBD store in Illinois is relaunching as 180 Pure with a large amount of fanfare and national recognition. While this exciting rebrand will bring together a brick and mortar location with the hugely successful eCommerce store, the focus will be on continuing to deliver the same supreme quality products they have been known for. The product line will continue with an array of affordable THC-free CBD products including tinctures, soft gels, gummies, along with the critically acclaimed salves that the brand has built a solid consumer reputation nationally with.

The official launch of 180 Pure takes place during a special Celebration Weekend on Friday, February 7 – Sunday, February 9 at 20530 N. Rand Rd Ste 340, Deer Park, IL 60010. As a special offering for the surrounding community, the store will offer 40% off 180 Pure products throughout the weekend, along with daily giveaways and other wonderful surprises and in-store activities. On Celebration Sunday, February 9, the store will offer a special gift with purchase.

“When we first opened, the general consumer was not familiar with CBD and we saw an immediate opportunity to educate consumers on its benefit.” says Sandra McFarland, owner of 180 Pure. “Today with CBD becoming a part of mainstream culture and more open dialogue happening, I find that a large segment still doesn’t understand what it really is or how it works. And they certainly don’t understand how the vast number of CBD products out there are different.”

The 180 Pure values and mission remain the same. 180 Pure is founded on the principle that consumer education and understanding is critical to success. “We are obsessed with quality in every regard”, explains McFarland. “Whether it is with the formulations and ingredients, the manufacturing, the transparency by which we do business, or just the service we provide, our goal is a well-informed consumer that walks away with a solution that betters their quality of life. We invest in our products and customer experience because we know that our consumers invest in us”. McFarland, an Illinois native, believes in being present with her customers and values the benefit that being proactive in her local community has garnered the brand. The brand loyalty and surge in sales has been an added benefit.

Living up to its core mission of prioritizing consumer education and comfort levels, 180 Pure is hosting a free CBD seminar featuring local licensed pharmacist, Sean Gale on Sunday, February 9th at 2:00pm. As part of the seminar, Gale will include a Q&A session to answer any individual questions visitors have about CBD and its benefits.

“The biggest obstacle for today’s consumer in the CBD world is finding a product you can trust,” says Gale. “With thousands of wanna-be imposters flooding the market, it’s easy to be overwhelmed with the choices. I always recommend my patients check out 180 Pure.”
