With the new generation of boards, noax Technologies AG has significantly enhanced the performance of industrial PCs. This further development of the board resulted in a threefold increase in performance. Much has changed with the new generation of boards, both externally and internally. Outwardly, noax is now relying on a uniform and modern design concept. Each device now also offers the option of choosing between the multi-touch (PCAP) and analog-resistive touch variants.

Inside, the size of the board has decreased significantly. The smaller board means that even more ideal heat management can be guaranteed. Another innovation made possible by reducing the size of the board is the new 18 ‘‘ full HD industrial PCs. This means that noax can now offer two device sizes with full HD resolution in its product portfolio.

Along with the function keys, the new generation also offers numerous interfaces such as USB, PCI, PCI Express, RS232 and many more. This large number of connection options ensures great flexibility.

In addition to the specially developed 3-stage heat management, which prevents the industrial PC from overheating, noax continues to rely on the nSMART software. The nSMART software, which is also developed in-house, is used to configure and monitor the settings on the industrial PC.

​​Ubiik, Monogoto and Sequans demonstrate end-to-end Smart Metering solutions on private, standalone LTE-M networks


Ubiik, the leading industrial IoT solutions provider specialized in Advanced Metering Infrastructure, has partnered with Monogoto and Sequans Communications to demonstrate an End-to-End Smart Electricity Metering solution that runs on Ubiik’s private, standalone LTE-M network.

Ubiik’s private LTE-M network leverages Ubiik’s recently announced Hermes LTE-M/NB-IOT Small Cell with integrated SDR-based Release 15 Radio Access Network, securely connected to Monogoto’s cloud-native Core Network via an IPsec VPN tunnel. On the UE side, Ubiik has incorporated its in-house metering application stack for both ANSI and IEC (DLMS/COSEM) electricity meters along with Sequans’ Monarch GM02S module and Monogoto’s SIM cards. The LTE-M network can be operating in 1.4MHz, 3MHz and 5MHz bandwidth in bands 3 and 8.

As the largest AMI vendor in Taiwan, Ubiik has previously announced its selection of Sequans’ Monarch GM02S module in support of its LTE-M connectivity solution for Taiwan’s largest IoT project, Taiwan Power Company’s AMI which would in total deploy 6Mn electricity in the coming years since its launch in 2018. The demonstrated UE, in a form factor of electricity meter communication device, are already integrated in both ANSI and IEC Meters and communicate over Websocket Secure connections with Ubiik’s fully-integrated Head-End System and Energy Management Platform seamlessly.

Space Codesign Systems obtains ESA/NAVISP funding to support the design of a new generation of spaceborne GNSS receiver


Space Codesign Systems (http://www.spacecodesign.com), a leading provider of an end-to-end automated solution, from high-level application specification to physical board compilation, has announced receipt of funding from the European Space Agency (ESA) Navigation Innovation and Support Programme (NAVISP) Element 2, made possible thanks to the Canadian Space Agency’s participation in the NAVISP. In this project, Space Codesign Systems will use this funding to support the design of a spaceborne global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receiver based on mixed criticalities partitioning and targeting System-on-Chip (SoC) field programmable gate arrays (FPGA).

In the world of avionic systems, transition from federated avionics architectures to integrated modular avionics (IMA) is observed. IMA architectures provide a shared computing platform, communications, and I/O resource pool that is partitioned by multiple tasks of differing design assurance criticalities. A similar transition is currently occurring in the world of satellite systems.

“The main objective of the project is to add features to explore different architectures and hardware/software partitions for spaceborne GNSS receivers, such as GPS and Galileo, operating in both low Earth orbits (LEOs) and high Earth orbits (HEOs)”, says Dr. Guy Bois, founder & VP Business Development.

SpaceStudio, a development environment for designers that eases the design flow of advanced algorithms, must be able to reuse intellectual property (IP) from existing platforms while being independent of the targeted SoC implementation. “SpaceStudio will target the NanoXplore NG-Ultra SoC for HEOs with longer lifespans with the intent of being portable on other space-suitable FPGAs”, says Hubert Guerard, CEO of Space Codesign Systems.

Another important objective of the project is the support of XtratuM Next Generation (XNG) hypervisor for mixed-criticality systems in the virtual platform offered by SpaceStudio, where multiple tasks with different criticality and certification assurance levels are integrated using a shared computing platform similar to IMA.

TeselaGen Secures Contract from BioMADE to Accelerate US Biomanufacturing with Advanced Informatics and Artificial Intelligence


Collaboration between organizations is often challenged by data being stored in varied proprietary formats. TeselaGen is working to address this challenge for technical data for fermentation processes.

TeselaGen Biotechnology announced today a two-year contract with BioMADE, the Department of Defense-sponsored bioindustrial Manufacturing Innovation Institute, to improve the informatics infrastructure around fermentation-based biomanufacturing. As part of this collaboration, TeselaGen will develop novel technologies that standardize data exchange, connect disparate software systems, and establish secure protocols to facilitate collaboration on AI-enabled projects.

The technologies will be developed and validated in collaboration with MicroByre, and the Advanced Biofuels and Bioproducts Process Development Unit(ABPDU) of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in a real-world fermentation process for producing succinic acid from a waste biomass feedstock through commercial scale-up. BioMADE’s 100 member organizations will also gain access to TeselaGen’s technology.

Several critical innovations or practices are being developed. An open-source data exchange standard, based on current best practices, will be developed to enable the easy exchange of fermentation process data independent of specific software platforms. The project will also demonstrate scalable API-driven interoperability based on an open source tooling foundation, fully in the end-users’ control and providing connectivity between fermentations systems’ digital backbones and other API-driven systems, such as machine learning-based optimization algorithms. Additionally, the collaborators will explore technologies for secure collaborative data analytics and machine learning that protects contributors’ intellectual property. This project builds on a current collaboration between the ABPDU and TeselaGen to improve data coordination in fermentation operations.
