Ntiva Wins CRN Triple Crown Award 2020

Ntiva, Inc., a leading provider of managed IT, cloud hosting, cyber security, unified communications and strategic consulting services, announced that CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, has recognized Ntiva as a 2020 Triple Crowd Award winner.

CRN Triple Crown Award winners are among the largest IT solution providers in North America from a revenue standpoint on the Solution Provider 500 list, while ranking as one of the fastest-growing organizations in the channel with recognition on the Fast Growth 150 list, and have received the highest-level certifications from leading vendors on the Tech Elite 250 list. While it is an impressive accomplishment for a solution provider to earn a spot on any of these elite lists, being named to all three in the same year is a great honor that should receive special acknowledgement and celebration.

“We are incredibly honored to be a Triple Crown Award Winner for the third year in a row,” said Steven Freidkin, CEO of Ntiva. “This year has been a challenging one for many IT Solution Providers, and so we’re especially proud of our ability to continue to thrive and grow. Our hard working team and dedicated partners have been truly exceptional, providing around the clock support to our loyal clients throughout a very difficult period. It’s a fantastic acknowledgement of Ntiva’s hard work and dedication to be recognized yet again as one of the top growth companies in the channel.”

For the seventh year, the Triple Crown Award recognizes solution providers that hold themselves to the highest standard in the IT channel. It is awarded to the top solution providers in North America based on revenue, growth, and technical expertise.

“Triple Crown Award winners have attained the ultimate achievement — the trifecta — they are among the top solution providers in North America by revenue, have seen more substantial growth than many of their peers over the past year, and continue to establish and build upon the technical skills that help them provide customers with the highest level of service in the IT channel,” said Blaine Raddon, CEO of The Channel Company. “We are honored to award these solution providers the Triple Crown Award for their expertise and exceptional contributions to the channel, and we are excited to see where they go from here.”

This year’s Triple Crown Award winners will be featured in the October issue of CRN Magazine — they can also be found online at http://www.crn.com/triplecrown.

City of Brampton installs Christie LED video wall system

Aatel Communications, Inc., the new video wall

Aatel Communications, Inc., the new video wall

Cam Wright, Operations Manager AV-communications, Aatel, says, “It’s the wall behind the mayor, it’s really the focus of the room. The City chose the wall because it’s a bright screen, that offers viewing from all angles.”

The City of Brampton’s council chambers underwent a major upgrade this Spring with the addition of a 140-inch Christie CorePlus LED video wall. Installed by systems integrator Aatel Communications, Inc., the new video wall was part of a larger upgrade to council chambers that included PTZ cameras and chairman/delegate microphones.

Located northwest of Toronto, the City of Brampton is Canada’s ninth largest city and the second fastest growing city, with a population of 650,000. The busy chambers, which previously had a four-by-three configuration of rear projection cubes installed, found the cubes to be difficult to read and not visible to the entire chamber.

Aatel Communications, located in Hamilton, Ontario, installed a 140-inch Christie CorePlus 1.4mm LED video wall. Cam Wright, Operations Manager AV-communications, Aatel, says, “It’s the wall behind the mayor, it’s really the focus of the room. The City chose the wall because it’s a bright screen, that offers viewing from all angles.”

After considering other options, Christie CorePlus LED met the requirements of both the City and Aatel. “We went with Christie because they had a competitive price, and the specs on the wall met what we were looking for, including a finer pixel pitch, less power consumption and a sharp image,” says Wright.

Christie CorePlus is designed with a focus on affordability and flexibility. With complete front or rear access, CorePlus is easy to install and service and compatible with Christie’s ADA-compliant direct-mount system, which allows the video wall to be directly installed onto appropriate surfaces, eliminating the need for a costly mounting frame.

The video wall, which is eight feet off the ground, is now visible to the chamber. It’s used for every meeting, showing content including presentations, documents and images. “It looks great, and we’re pleased with the end result,” says Wright.

Christie solutions illuminate natural beauty of cave in China

“As the country’s first multimedia show to be executed in a natural cave environment, we have spared no effort to ensure that it delivers a highly memorable experience for visitors,” said Zhenfeng Xu, general manager, Hehao Technology.

Christie® laser projection and content management solutions play a significant role in illuminating the interiors of a karst cave to deliver a spectacular multimedia show that accentuates the beauty of this natural cavern, located within the Taiji Cave scenic area in Xuancheng City, Anhui province.

Titled “Hutian Fantasyland”, it is China’s first multimedia show in a natural cave featuring intelligently executed projection and audio technology that offers visitors a highly immersive and entertaining experience that’s aligned with the historical and cultural attributes of this renowned scenic area. The fascinating projections are accomplished by Christie’s partner Shanghai Hehao Technology in collaboration with Summit Splendid Studio, using 14 Christie DWU1075-GS 1DLP® laser projectors, Christie Pandoras Box Software Players, Pandoras Box Manager, and Pandoras Box Widget Designer.

“As the country’s first multimedia show to be executed in a natural cave environment, we have spared no effort to ensure that it delivers a highly memorable experience for visitors,” said Zhenfeng Xu, general manager, Hehao Technology. “This includes procuring the finest projection and content management systems on the market that can operate reliably in Hutian Cave’s moist and humid environment. We’re pleased to have chosen Christie’s tried and tested GS Series laser projectors and Pandoras Box family of products for this major project.”

The word “Hutian” in Chinese is interpreted as a dwelling for celestial beings. According to Chinese folklore, this mysterious place is often depicted as a treasure cave known for its hidden and extremely small entrance. But once inside, the caverns open up to reveal another world – cathedral-sized grottoes with extremely high ceilings, towering stone formations, and natural wonders at every turn.

“This ancient folklore drives the backstory of this exciting multimedia show executed on the enormous ceiling of Hutian Cave’s main chamber,” said Xu, noting that the team overcame many challenges to accomplish the show’s artistic vision. “The cave environment is complicated and making measurements was extremely difficult. In order to provide designers and engineers with accurate design inputs, we deployed high-precision 3D holographic scanning equipment to digitally map and reconstruct the site.”

With this high-definition, 3D-scanned data map, the team was able to install the 14 DWU1075-GS projectors at optimal positions around the main chamber without damaging the cave formations. “Our next challenge was executing the color control and calibration process, which was tedious due to the highly irregular surfaces,” said Xu. “Through repeated projection, sound effects and environmental tests, we were finally able to achieve a perfect sense of immersion.”

Xu added that the team created a customized program using Widget Designer that enables the Pandoras Box players to automatically switch on or shut down all the projectors, audio equipment, and playback systems according to the cave’s opening and closing hours. This powerful feature helps to automate these regular tasks that would otherwise take much time to complete, given the vastness of Hutian Cave.

Visitors seated on a custom-built 360-degree rotating platform are treated to a slew of flamboyant and immersive visuals accompanied by surround audio that brings Hutian Cave to life. The spectacular visual feast, coupled with a brand-new experience of cave exploration, is extremely popular since its opening, and has become the main highlight of Taiji Cave scenic area. Those who have watched “Hutian Fantasyland” are convinced that the multimedia show has set a new benchmark in the local night tourism industry.

April Qin, director of sales, Enterprise, Christie China, commented, “We are delighted that our partner Hehao Technology has chosen Christie solutions for China’s first-ever multimedia show to be executed in a natural cave. Our laser projection and content management solutions are known for delivering high levels of integration, performance, color accuracy and reliability for various applications such as entertainment, cultural and night tourism venues across China.”
