iBUYPOWER Announces New Element CL Pro During CES 2021

Element CL Pro GPU Water Block

iBUYPOWER, a leading manufacturer of high-performance custom gaming PCs, today announced an update to its Element CL liquid cooled gaming PCs. The Element CL Pro will provide users with support for the new RTX 30 series of graphics cards (GPU).

Released in late 2020, iBUYPOWER’s Element CL liquid cooled gaming PCs feature a robust cooling system with an integrated front panel distribution plate and custom push-to-connect fittings designed to withstand the turbulent nature of shipping and minimize build times. With a custom addressable RGB (ARGB) water block for both the GPU and CPU, the Element CL delivered the performance and aesthetic customers look for in a liquid cooled PC in a more affordable package.

The new Element CL Pro will be the next addition to iBUYPOWER’s Signature Element CL line of systems. Maintaining the key features of the Element CL such as the distribution plate, custom tubing and fittings, and the custom ARGB GPU and CPU water blocks the Pro will feature a new GPU water block to provide support for the new RTX 3070 and 3080 GPUs.

To enable better airflow in the Element CL and offset the higher heat dissipation of the 30 series cards, iBUYPOWER will provide four new 120mm fans. Three of the new fans will be mounted to the included 360mm radiator located next to the motherboard and over an exhaust vent while the fourth is mounted at the rear for exhaust. The new design will feature swept blades for higher static pressure and will be PWM controlled.

For early adopters of the Element CL hardline liquid cooled system, iBUYPOWER plans to develop an upgrade kit for users wanting to enhance system performance with the new 30 series of GPUs. The kit will come with the new Element CL Pro GPU water block and the four new 120mm fans.

Introducing SenseGlove Nova, A Rapidly Donned Haptic Force-Feedback Glove For Professional VR/AR Training

Unlike research applications, VR training projects are all about quick implementation. We created SenseGlove Nova — a new glove using stretchable, easy-to-put-on material — specifically for VR training, based on direct customer feedback.

At CES 2021 today, SenseGlove, a leading developer of force and haptic feedback gloves, announced the launch of SenseGlove Nova, a new version of haptic force-feedback gloves designed specifically for professional VR training purposes. SenseGlove Nova features an updated flexible form-factor in combination with unparalleled haptic technologies and smooth hand tracking that enables users to feel shapes, textures, stiffness, impacts and resistance in virtual reality easier than ever before. SenseGlove Nova’s level of usability and touch-enabling technology will help upscale all kinds of VR training programs, such as training to handle hazardous materials, carrying out complex tasks with multiple tools and objects, learning to design and test physical prototypes. View a short video of SenseGlove Nova in action here.

“Unlike research applications, VR training projects are all about quick implementation. We created SenseGlove Nova — a new glove using stretchable, easy-to-put-on material — specifically for VR training, based on direct customer feedback. The ability to experience digital worlds through intuitive real-world behaviors coupled with a low $5,000 USD price make the SenseGlove Nova the most accessible device for the future of work and a new sense in VR training,” said Gijs den Butter, CEO of SenseGlove.

Research has shown the presence of realistic haptic interactions and feedback is an integral part of creating compelling and useful immersive virtual environments, where both kinesthetic and cutaneous feedback convey unique information critical to object handling and manipulation.

Famous for its exoskeleton cyberpunk design, the current version of SenseGlove (DK1) is used for VR research and has been on the market since 2018. It has since been purchased and applied by more than 100 corporations and institutions, including Volkswagen, Airbus, Scania, Honda, Procter & Gamble, Siemens, the Cambridge University and Fraunhofer. Developed in collaboration with SenseGlove research customers, SenseGlove Nova possesses the features required for VR training: motion-tracking, force feedback, vibrotactile feedback and an updated form-factor that enables the user to easily and quickly put on and take off the gloves.

“The next big step towards truly immersive VR training is to have haptic interactions. Therefore, Volkswagen collaborates with SenseGlove to make this vision of scalable haptic VR training a reality,” stated Malte Hedemann, Referent Digital Realities (VR /AR) at the Volkswagen Group.

How SenseGlove Works.

SenseGlove’s patented force feedback technology enables lifelike interactions, which is crucial for complex task training. The SenseGlove exoskeleton is inspired by the human tendon muscle system. By applying resistance through its magnetic friction brakes, SenseGlove emulates the feeling of object density and size. The SenseGlove Nova incorporates four brakes dedicated to each finger from thumb to ring finger. Each brake delivers up to 20N of force, which is equivalent to the weight of a 2 kg brick on each finger and makes for unparalleled force feedback. The different amounts of force, transferred to the fingertips through mechanical wires, allows SenseGlove to enhance training simulations with a wide variety of virtual objects, from robust engines to fragile light bulbs.

For the vibrotactile feedback of SenseGlove Nova, SenseGlove has embedded an advanced voice coil actuator technology that allows the Nova to render the feeling of realistic button clicks and impact simulations, which are crucial for virtual reality training with tools and dashboards. Both the thumb and the index finger have their own vibrotactile actuator, while the voice coil actuator is located in the hub of the glove. The unique force-and vibrotactile feedback is incorporated into a user-friendly flexible glove, whose haptic features along with advanced motion tracking, compatibility with the latest standalone headsets and scalable pricing make SenseGlove Nova the new standard in professional VR interactions.

SenseGlove is showing the working prototype of SenseGlove Nova at CES 2021 and plans to ship the first pairs of gloves in March 2021. SenseGlove Nova is currently available for pre-order at an introductory price of $5,000 for a set of two gloves on the SenseGlove website. Bulk orders of 10 or more Nova gloves are available at a discounted rate of $3,500 per set of gloves.

Just 39% of Frontline Healthcare Workers Have No Concerns about the Broader Community Receiving the COVID-19 Vaccine, According to New Research from Waggl

Illustration from Waggl's healthcare landing page

Waggl is the leading Employee Voice solution for Healthcare & Hospital Systems

“Nursing leaders have faced a significant degree of ongoing challenge with respect to the COVID-19 crisis, and they have valuable insight about the best way to ensure a successful community rollout,” said Michelle Cardinal, Deputy Managing Director, Programming, Opal Group.

Waggl, the most powerful Employee Voice platform for hospital systems, today released final results from its current “The Voice of Healthcare Workers” pulse, a dynamic resource that enables frontline healthcare workers to share real-time suggestions and insights with their peers about critical issues in healthcare today.

“The Voice of Healthcare Workers” collaborative pulse received thousands of votes from frontline healthcare workers, who were invited to add their voices to an important dialogue about the COVID-19 vaccination. The pulse consisted of three question statements and one open-ended question relating to the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccination, built on Waggl’s Employee Voice platform, a real-time platform that quickly and easily enables organizations to measure and improve engagement with crowdsourcing and simple data visualizations to create more actionable dialogue between leaders and their teams.

“We deeply appreciate the opportunity for the registrants of the upcoming Chief Nursing Officer Summit, many of whom are directly involved with patient care, to add their voices to the ongoing dialogue about the vaccine,” said Michelle Cardinal, Deputy Managing Director, Programming, Opal Group. “Nursing leaders have faced a significant degree of ongoing challenge with respect to the COVID-19 crisis, and they have valuable insight about the best way to ensure a successful community rollout. As we’ve seen from this pulse, most frontline healthcare professionals believe that educating the public on the actual data from the trials will be critical.”

Waggl’s “The Voice of Healthcare Workers” pulse posed an open-ended question, “What is one suggestion you have to ensure a successful rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine to the broader community?” Crowdsourced responses were distilled into a ranked list. Here are the top five responses:

  • “Combat misinformation and establish confidence in the vaccine by educating the public on the actual data from the trials. People don’t seem to realize the vaccine has been studied in 20K people with robust safety and efficacy data. Also – government leadership on messaging the importance would help.”
  • “Transparency about the vaccine process and a clear unified message about the safety of the vaccine.”
  • “The more healthcare workers show that they trust the science behind the vaccine, the less the general public will fear it. Keep sharing your vaccination!”
  • “Making it free! Multiple creative venues like parking lots or drive-thru areas, run by hospitals/pharmacists. Just like when doing massive swab tests for COVID.”
  • “Community outreach. Go to people. Make it easy for them to get vaccinated. Pool resources and make available vaccines easily identifiable so people can find locations to vaccinate. Continual updates to locations, availability, and how to sign up for the prioritized groups. No waste!”

Waggl’s research indicates that 97% of respondents plan to receive the COVID-19 vaccination once it is made available to them, with some variation by geography, racial/ethnic identification and role. In aggregate, 74% of participants agreed with the statement, “My organization has provided clear communication about our vaccination plan, including when the vaccine will be made available to me,” with physicians (83%) and healthcare workers who have multiple roles (81%) responding more affirmatively than nurses (69%) and non-clinical healthcare workers (64%). The pulse results also indicate that 61% of healthcare workers have concerns about the broader community receiving the vaccine once it is made available to them, with significant variation according to geographic location. Among clinical nurses, 64% expressed concerns.

The most common themes emerging from this initial pulse include:

  • The importance of getting/receiving the vaccine
  • Safety and efficacy of the vaccine
  • Side effects
  • Clear communication
  • Community Outreach
  • Educating the public
  • Easy access
  • Transparency

“Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, we’ve continually witnessed unprecedented responsiveness and agility from our leading healthcare and hospital systems customers, including University of Utah Health, UCHealth, VA North Texas, and others,” said Michael Papay, Co-founder and CEO, Waggl. “They’ve used Waggl to ask their people important questions about topics ranging from how they could help with their safety and well-being, to how they could simplify their work and boost their effectiveness. This has undoubtedly fueled the resilience we’re seeing across so many organizations.”

In the keynote for Opal Group’s Chief Nursing Officer Annual Summit on January 20-21, Waggl Co-founder Adam Tanner will share additional results data and critical insights that can better inform Nursing Leaders and their organizations on vaccine rollout. Additional speakers include Marilyn Riley, Chief Nursing Officer, IU Health; Legay Naseath, Chief Nursing Officer, Banner Health ChurchHill Community Hospital; Lisa Romano, RN, MSN, Chief Nursing Officer, Cipher Health; Debra Garton, Chief Nursing Officer, OSS Health.

Biospectal Announces Public Beta Launch Of OptiBP™ For Android At CES 2021

Biospectal, the optical revolution in medical-grade blood pressure measurement and monitoring

Biospectal’s patented OptiBP technology replaces the antiquated traditional blood pressure cuff and provides medical-grade blood pressure measurement and management at the ‘point of patient’ in the time it takes to download an app.

Biospectal, the remote patient monitoring and biosensing software company, today announced the public beta launch of Biospectal OptiBP™ for Android as part of the SWISS Pavilion at the all-digital 2021 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Backed by grants from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Grand Challenges Canada and Innosuisse, Biospectal OptiBP empowers people worldwide with a medical-grade device that integrates directly into the ubiquitous smartphone already in their pocket, enabling instantaneous blood pressure measurement and monitoring, anytime and anywhere. View a short video of how Biospectal OptiBP works here.

[According to the CDC, hypertension affects nearly 46% or 100M US adults, while the World Health Organization estimates 1.13Bn people worldwide have hypertension. Dubbed the “silent killer,” only one in five people afflicted with hypertension have control over the condition. People need an easy to use, digital means to accurately measure, monitor, track and share their blood pressure data with their doctors; a need that the onset of COVID-19 and demand for telehealth solutions has only amplified.

“Democratizing and providing easy access to blood pressure monitoring to people worldwide enables improved treatment and impacts medical outcomes. Biospectal OptiBP is a prime example of a broader transition toward remote patient monitoring that moves the clinical functions and capability out of the professional setting to the ‘point of patient’ where they live,” said Eliott Jones, CEO of Biospectal. “Biospectal’s patented OptiBP technology replaces the antiquated traditional blood pressure cuff and provides medical-grade blood pressure measurement and management at the ‘point of patient’ in the time it takes to download an app — without the need for yet another wearable device or additional bulky hardware. Health-conscious consumers and hypertensive patients worldwide can now contribute to, and be involved in their health outcomes in a way that hasn’t existed previously.”

How Biospectal OptiBP Works.

The Biospectal OptiBP app runs on a typical smartphone and uses the built-in camera to record and measure a user’s blood flow via their fingertip quickly and easily. A measurement is rendered in approximately 20 seconds — half the time of a typical blood pressure cuff. Biospectal’s proprietary algorithms and optical signal capture methods then transform the captured data into blood pressure values. With Biospectal’s software solutions, anyone in the world with a smartphone can turn their device into a connected, smart, clinical-grade monitor in the time it takes to download and install an app. Additionally, the captured blood pressure data connects seamlessly with a user’s clinicians to support treatment regimens that help improve health, longevity and quality of life. Key benefits include:

  • Connected remote patient monitoring shortens the pathway from measurement to action in a clinical regimen;
  • Ease of use with an existing, ubiquitous device — the smartphone — removes adherence barriers;
  • Allows users to measure and monitor their blood pressure in their ‘natural’ environment, which is ideally where blood pressure should be monitored;
  • App form factor offers continuous product improvement and feature updates; and
  • Unprecedented data insights via global device network drives higher value for drug development and lower insurance costs.

A recent large-scale, third-party clinical research study published by Scientific Reports in Nature validated the ability of the Biospectal OptiBP smartphone app to accurately measure blood pressure utilizing transdermal optical sensing and a smartphone camera lens. No other blood pressure monitoring and management device on the market offers both the medical-grade accuracy and convenience of Biospectal. “For low and middle-income countries around the globe, this type of technology is a game changer in the fight against non-communicable diseases, dominated by hypertension and cardiovascular disease,” said Prof. Alain Labrique, DIrector of the Johns Hopkins Global mHealth Initiative and Associate Chair for Research. “For the billions of people living in remote, rural communities, having access to accurate blood pressure readings will enable early diagnosis and hopefully, treatment — preventing illness and loss of life.”

Biospectal trained its software algorithm using over two million resulting invasively acquired blood pressure samples recorded in the operating room of the CHUV in partnership with the Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology (CSEM), and then validated it with outpatients in the hypertension clinic CHUV. The company’s patented technology represents 10+ years of non-invasive optical biosensing R&D led by Biospectal Chief Medical Advisor, Dr. Patrick Schoettker, M.D.

The Biospectal OptiBP for Android public beta is available now in the US, UK, France, Germany, Spain and Switzerland. Interested participants can register for the public beta here or sign up to be notified once Biospectal OptiBP becomes available in their country. Contact biospectal@wearemgp.com to set up a meeting at CES, January 11 – 14, 2021 or access the press kit here.

About Biospectal

Biospectal is the remote monitoring and biosensing software company focused on the worldwide democratization of clinical monitoring. We make it easy for hypertension patients and health-conscious consumers to take on hypertension — the ‘silent killer’ and #1 chronic health condition worldwide. Biospectal’s OptiBP™ smartphone application and data platform remove the outdated blood pressure cuff barrier and enables frequent and intelligent blood pressure tracking via a fingertip applied to a smartphone camera lens. By optically measuring blood flow through the skin, our proprietary algorithm turns light information into blood pressure values. Now, anyone with a smartphone can have the convenience of a connected blood pressure monitor with them anytime, anywhere.

Founded July 2017, Biospectal is headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland, with an additional office in Silicon Valley. Biospectal’s patented technology was co-developed and clinically validated by the Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology and represents 10+ years of non-invasive optical biosensing R&D. Emerging Tech Categories See Strong Growth As Consumers Seek New Forms of Entertainment

While PCs, monitors, and routers flew off the shelves when offices and schools began to close – sales of consumer drones and VR/AR accessories and hardware also saw strong gains as consumers looked for hobbies and pursuits they could enjoy while social distancing.

In a year where social distancing and safety measures kept many Americans home more than usual, the consumer technology industry experienced strong sales in categories that kept people connected and entertained. According to NPD’s Retail Tracking Service, consumer drone sales from March- November 2020 in the U.S. have more than doubled (+114%) compared to the same timeframe in 2019. Over the same period VR/AR hardware and accessories saw 53% sales growth with average sales prices more than doubling.

“While PCs, monitors, and routers flew off the shelves when offices and schools began to close – sales of consumer drones and VR/AR accessories and hardware also saw strong gains as consumers looked for hobbies and pursuits they could enjoy while social distancing,” said Ben Arnold, executive director, industry analyst for The NPD Group. “In VR/AR part of what is driving sales is pent-up demand from earlier in the year, we expect this will continue into the first quarter of the new year.”

2020’s holiday shopping season was unlike any other: Prime Day was pushed from July to October, Black Friday promotions began earlier than ever, and consumers leaned into online shopping or BOPUS offerings. The result for U.S. consumer technology sales was double-digit Q4 growth through the week ending Dec. 26, 2020*. In October and November combined both consumer drone and VR/AR hardware and accessories sales more than doubled from the same period in 2019, with Quest 2 from Oculus and the Mavic Mini from DJI seeing top sales.

“A big part of what is driving these large sales increases are products from the top performing brands in each of these categories,” added Arnold. “Anticipation for products from companies like DJI for drones and Oculus for VR/AR is driving up consumer demand, and with increasing average sales prices in each of these categories, resulting in big 2020 results.”

iBUYPOWER Debuts the New Revolt 3 MK3 Case During CES 2021

iBUYPOWER Revolt 3 MK3

iBUYPOWER, a leading manufacturer of high-performance custom gaming PCs, today announced its latest addition to the legendary Revolt series of cases, the Revolt 3 MK3, during the all-digital Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

The small form factor (SFF) Revolt 3 MK3 will be designed to support a wide variety of high-performance PC components. Enabled by its perforated panels, the natural layout of the 18.4-liter case creates three separate airflow zones, one for the CPU and motherboard, one for the power supply (PSU), and one for the graphics card (GPU), to mitigate the heat transfer between components. Users can mount up to a 280mm radiator to the hinged internal panel as well as an optional 80mm exhaust fan to the top of the Revolt to help promote better GPU thermals.

The Revolt 3 MK3 will come equipped with a 700W 80 Plus Gold SFX-L PSU installed and cables pre-routed for easy assembly and internal cable management. All system I/Os will route under the case to a large cutout where plug-in ports can easily be accessed and unsightly external cables can be managed and kept out of sight. With the ability to remove every exterior panel and keeping with the signature competition focused features originally introduced with iBUYPOWER’s Revolt 2, users will be able to access and easily upgrade or swap the graphics card and storage devices without having to remove any other components or adjust cabling.

With no shortage of connectivity, the Revolt 3 MK3 will provide support for three USB 3.2 ports on the front I/O. Two Type-A ports will be routed internally to connect to the motherboard’s Gen 1 header and a Type-C port pass through will connect to the motherboard’s rear I/O. For portability and convenience, an included carrying handle is built into the top of the case, sitting flush with the top panel as to not disrupt the clean lines, but pops up with a push. In addition, pop-out holders on both sides of the case give users a place to hang their headset or other accessories when not in use.

Standing vertically, the Revolt 3 MK3 will feature a modern design with black and white color options and a contrasting, swappable, colored mesh inlay behind the front panel to allow for customization.

Availability

The Revolt 3 MK3 is expected to be available for purchase at the end of Q2, 2021 as part of an iBUYPOWER system or a standalone case.

“e-End not only met but exceeded my requirements in all areas.” Nidal Allis, President, Techno Rescue

After 14 years serving the greater Denver area, Colorado based Techno Rescue is now expanding their electronic recycling and data destruction services to include the East Coast region. Techno Rescue’s President, Nidal Allis, recognizing the demand for his important certified services, sought out an East Coast based company that met his stringent requirements. Allis explained “The ideal company would not only have to be certified in recycling and data destruction, but needed to have a strong client base, and most importantly, operate under the same type of business culture I have built with my company, a culture that seeks to provide the highest level of customer service.” Allis vetted a number of companies until he found the right fit with Maryland based e-End. “e-End not only met but exceeded my requirements in all areas.” he added.

Through the acquisition, e-End, located in Frederick Maryland, will become a division of Techno Rescue. Under the new entity, e-End will continue to provide R2 Certified recycling and destruction of data containing media under their NAID AAA certification. They will also maintain their ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certifications. Allis noted that e-End is able to perform unique services for government and various law enforcement agencies. “Another major factor in my decision to go with e-End was their capability to destroy weapons, tactical items such as Kevlar helmets and vests, and a wide variety of ITAR controlled devices. This greatly expands our market potential.” Allis stated.

With Techno Rescue’s and e-End’s locations, bolstered by their alliance with strategic partners, they will be capable of providing electronic recycling, data destruction, ITAD, ITAR services nationally. Together, they will have the joined capabilities of processing in excess of 5 million pounds of material annually. In addition, they have the ability to sanitize and destroy several hundred thousand data-containing media items annually.

Arleen and Steve Chafitz, owners of e-End, endorsed the acquisition noting that they had been approached by several companies in the past regarding an acquisition. “It was very important for us to know we were turning over our company, one we had built focusing on providing the highest level of service, to someone who possessed the same business culture and who understood the importance of treating their employees and clients with the same high standards we have always insisted on,” explained Arleen Chafitz.

About Techno Rescue – Techno Rescue is a Veteran-Owned Colorado company that holds numerous certifications related to the recycling of end-of-life electronics, has health and safety and environmental certifications and is recognized as a leading service provider in the greater Denver Area. In addition to their e-End division serving the East Coast, Techno Rescue has strategic partners that permit it to serve clients throughout the continental United States.
