Traveling Without Jet Lag Is the Future: Global Wellness Summit Delegates

News Image

Circadian neuroscience is at the heart of jet lag management and, even though airlines and hospitality brands are doing a great job helping consumers prioritize sleep and wellness, most are still unaware of jet lag science, and, as a result, their advice.

The Global Wellness Summit (GWS), the foremost gathering of international leaders in the $4.2 trillion global wellness economy, today announced that all delegates attending its 2019 conference in Singapore this October will receive a one-year subscription to the Timeshifter® jet lag app. The app, which is already deployed by wellness pioneer Six Senses to guests visiting their resorts, was developed with world-renowned scientists and is based on the latest research in sleep and circadian neuroscience.

“I’m very familiar with wellness hacks for sleep and jet lag, but, even though a massage or exercising always feels great after a long flight, it’s never been a silver bullet for my jet lag. Now, I know why,” said Susie Ellis, GWS chairman and CEO. “Timeshifter tackles the underlying cause of jet lag by literally helping you shift your biological clock to a destination’s time zone quickly—and, counterintuitively, this may even mean NOT sleeping on a long-haul flight.”

Ellis put Timeshifter through its paces on a recent multi-continent business trip that saw her traveling from Miami to Italy, then on to Hong Kong and Tokyo, then back to Europe for a meeting in Amsterdam, and finally returning home to Miami over the space of just 14 days. “I can unequivocally report that Timeshifter’s algorithm, which relies on resetting your circadian clock through timed light exposure and, optionally, the right dose, type and timing of a melatonin supplement, worked miraculously.”

“Circadian neuroscience is at the heart of jet lag management and, even though airlines and hospitality brands are doing a great job helping consumers prioritize sleep and wellness, most are still unaware of jet lag science, and, as a result, their advice, products and services are based on the wrong assumptions,” said Mickey Beyer-Clausen, co-founder and CEO at Timeshifter. “I’m thankful to Six Senses, one of our launch partners, for bringing our app to the industry leaders attending the Summit.”

Timeshifter was developed with Dr. Steven Lockley, an associate professor of medicine in the Division of Sleep Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Lockley is a world-renowned expert in circadian rhythms, sleep and jet lag and has helped NASA astronauts, Formula 1 drivers and Olympic athletes perform at their best when traveling.

It’s recommended that GWS delegates set up their flights in Timeshifter 4-5 days prior to departure so a pre-adjustment period can begin and to ensure they arrive in Singapore ready to enjoy the Summit’s full agenda of keynotes, panels, networking events, etc.

To learn more about jet lag science, Timeshifter, and why the travel industry needs to consider the implications, here is some suggested reading.

WMS Software Developer Datex Releases Guide on Reducing Warehouse Costs

Using technology to reduce warehousing costs

How to Use Technology to Reduce Warehouse Costs Guide

“Having higher warehouse costs can mean that a warehouse operator or third party logistics provider is less competitive and able to attract and retain business” explained Michael Armanious, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Datex.

Warehouse management software developer Datex recently released a guide to help 3PLs, distributors and fulfillment warehouse operators reduce warehousing costs using technology. The guide explains the reasons why warehousing operations costs are rising and how technology can play a vital role in curbing costs. The guide is free with registration for immediate download.

The 70+ page guide includes actionable suggestions and covers topics such as:

1. Using technology produces cost savings, aids in eliminating errors and increasing productivity

2. How workarounds are costing your company money

3. How protecting your IT infrastructure helps keep costs under control

4. The importance of using warehouse technology in contract packaging and contract manufacturing warehouses

“Our team has been hearing from supply chain management professionals about their frustration in dealing with rising warehouse costs, the need for faster order processing and shipments and increasingly complex inventory management challenges. Having higher warehouse costs can mean that a warehouse operator or third party logistics provider is less competitive and able to attract and retain business. This year it is especially important to control warehouse costs due to increasing transportation and logistics costs. From truck driver shortages to the new IMO January 2020 regulations that will increase the cost of fuel used on ocean-going ships, supply chain costs are escalating” said Michael Armanious, Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

The Datex guide entitled “How to Use Technology to Reduce Warehouse Costs” is available for immediate download here.

Mineralgia Pain Relief Cream to Exhibit at Indie Beauty Expo at Pier 94, August 21 and 22nd, Booth I-506

Mineralgia Pain Relief Cream

Mineralgia Pain Relief Cream

The global #selfcare movement is causing the wellness and beauty industries to merge as consumers embrace the practice of mindful consumption. Wellness also includes the environment, with the market demanding ethical products that are vegan, sustainable, organic, and clean.

Mineralgia, the innovative, new, natural Dead Sea mineral and plant-based healing aid which launched earlier this year, has announced it will be exhibiting at Indie Beauty Expo (IBE), the largest professionally-curated exposition of independent beauty brands in the world. Mineralgia is formulated with essential oils and concentrated healing minerals from the Dead Sea. The effective, non-CBD formula was developed by Los Angeles chiropractor Dr. Brigitte Rozenberg for the patients of her wellness practice, with the goal of providing safe, everyday relief from acute and chronic pain in order to facilitate whole-body healing

“Exhibiting a pain relief cream at a beauty expo makes perfect sense,” said Dr. Rozenberg. “For one thing, it is hard to be beautiful when you are in pain. More importantly, the global #selfcare movement is causing the wellness and beauty industries to merge as consumers embrace the practice of mindful consumption. Wellness also includes the environment, with the market demanding ethical products that are vegan, sustainable, organic, and clean. We are delighted to be exhibiting at IBE with so many other innovative brands whose core value is to facilitate head-to-toe wellness.”

Mineralgia provides immediate and long-lasting relief from back and joint pain, sprains, arthritis, sore muscles, minor injuries and overexertion. The emollient formula relieves pain with Camphor and Menthol; heals with pure, concentrated minerals from the Dead Sea, including Dead Sea Salts and Magnesium; soothes, calms and moisturizes with plant essential oils, including: Aloe Vera, Arnica Montana, Avocado, Chamomile, Eucalyptus, Evening Primrose, Hemp Seed, Kiwi, Lemongrass, Lavender, Mandarin, and Olive.

“When formulating Mineralgia, I had a long list of attributes it had to contain and benefits it needed to provide. First was its efficacy in terms of relieving pain. It had to be vegan, plant-and mineral-based, paraben and gluten-free,” continued Rozenberg. “Just as importantly, I wanted the experience of using this product to be as luxurious as that of a high-end body lotion. It is light, non-greasy, and moisturizing. While the camphor and menthol have a light medicinal, smell, it fades quickly, as it soothes, calms, heals, and relaxes muscles.”

Now in its fifth year, IBE will be held in NYC at Pier 94, August 21-22, 2019. Mineralgia will be in booth I-506.

About Mineralgia

Mineralgia was developed by Los Angeles chiropractor Dr. Brigitte Rozenberg for the patients of her wellness practice, with the goal to provide safe, everyday relief from acute and chronic pain in order to facilitate whole-body healing. Made in the USA in an FDA-approved facility, Mineralgia is formulated with globally-sourced natural ingredients and is Paraben-free, Gluten-free, vegan and not tested on animals. It complies with the FDA OTC Pain Relief Monograph.

Mineralgia comes in a 3.4 oz/100 ml tube that retails for $34.95 and is available for purchase at Mineralgia.com; retail stores; fitness centers; pharmacies; and through wellness and fitness professionals. For more information, contact Elisabeth Hinckley at eah(at)eahpr.com.

Workit Health’s Telemedicine Addiction Care a Solution for the Opioid Epidemic, According to JAMA

Workit Health, a telehealth addiction treatment company bringing affordable, evidence-based care to individuals, healthcare organizations, and employers, is featured in JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) as a promising solution to fight the opioid crisis.

Over 70% of rural counties disproportionately affected by the overdose crisis lack an opioid use disorder (OUD) medication prescriber – Workit Health is filling this gap in care via telehealth. Rita Ruben’s JAMA article published on August 28th, “Using Telemedicine to Treat Opioid Use Disorder in Rural Areas,” highlights the issues in rural counties where health care professionals aren’t able to treat addiction, and suggests telemedicine as a solution to meet the growing demand.

The JAMA article notes Workit Health as the single company currently connecting prescribers to patients via smartphone app. Programs like Workit Health’s, offering telehealth video visits and online therapy, meet the need for both behavioral health support and medication management required for OUD care, and stand as an underutilized solution for addressing the current crisis. A recent analysis of claims data found relatively low rates of Tele-SUD (substance use disorder) treatment claims, which the authors of the study noted, “Given the severity of the opioid epidemic, low rates of tele-SUD use represent a missed opportunity.”

JAMA talked with Workit Health’s Clinical Advisor Dr. Melody Glenn, who explained the basics of Workit Health’s program: members meet with a clinician in-person, then move to online care via web and phone-apps. Drug testing, online recovery groups, messaging with an expert team, and a personalized set of addiction courses are also included in the program. All follow-up video visits with prescribing clinicians are done via the apps, as well: “It’s a lot like FaceTime,” Glenn explained.

“We’re proud to have our telemedicine work featured in JAMA,” Lisa McLaughlin, Workit Health’s Co-CEO, says. “The studies now show that opioid use disorder treatment with buprenorphine has positive outcomes regardless of visits being in-person or telehealth. We’ve also found this to be the case with our own high rate of patient success.”

“Low-barrier care means helping more people, and saving more lives, so the team is really excited to have JAMA highlight the work we’ve been doing.” Robin McIntosh, Workit Health’s Co-CEO, says. “Lisa, myself, and other Workit staff have lost loved ones to the opioid crisis. We’re connecting experts to those who don’t have rides to treatment, or can’t find childcare.”

Workit Health was founded in 2015 by Robin McIntosh and Lisa McLaughlin, two award-winning entrepreneurs and technologists in long-term addiction recovery themselves, and has since received Joint Commission accreditation for it’s telemedicine addiction therapy program. Workit Health has followed a cohort of it’s telemedicine for OUD program for over a year, with outstanding outcomes: 93% reached abstinence from opioids after the first month in the program, with 84% of them remaining abstinent from opioids after 12 months. It has partnered with the National Science Foundation on a proprietary algorithm to track wellness in recovery, and last year received B Corporation status, solidifying its mission to do social good.

About Workit Health: Workit Health is an addiction healthcare company offering online, on-demand evidence-based addiction treatment including telehealth medication for opioid use disorder. Workit Health partners with healthcare organizations to deliver an innovative digital health solution that blends the best of human-centered design, technology, and science. Workit Health offers 24/7 recovery that fits into daily life, designed by experts. Learn more at workithealth.com.

Insurance Experts Present Several Smart Ways To Get Cheaper Car Insurance

News Image

“For many, car insurance is a necessary expense. To cut the costs of insurance, policyholders can bundle multiple policies and drive a safe vehicle”, said Russell Rabichev, Marketing Director of Internet Marketing Company.

Cheapquotesautoinsurance.com has launched a new blog post that presents several smart methods that can help car owners cut costs on car insurance.

For more info and free online quotes, please visit https://cheapquotesautoinsurance.com/cut-costs-car-insurance/

In most states, car insurance is required by law. For many, car insurance can be a costly investment that can seriously affect the family’s budget. Fortunately, there are many ways that can help anyone pay less on car insurance.

To cut costs on car insurance, drivers can follow the next tips:

  • Keep the car parked in a garage. Insurance companies prefer cars that are kept in garages and for this reason, they will lower the insurance rates. Cars that are being kept in a garage are less likely to be stolen and are better protected against the severe weather.
  • Increase deductibles. Policyholders can agree to pay more money out of their pockets, before the insurance kicks in. Doing this will lower the price of insurance. However, drivers should ensure they will save enough money in order to pay for the deductibles if they will have to file a claim.
  • Drive a safe car. Exotic sports cars or limousines are expensive to insure. These cars are expensive to repair and are favorite targets for thieves. Instead, drivers should try to insure slightly used minivans, SUV’s, or sedans that are equipped with several safety devices. These types of vehicles are cheaper to insure and they cost less to repair.
  • Keep a good credit score or improve it. Insurance companies will look at the drivers’ credit score before granting them coverage. Insurers claim they found a correlation between a driver’s credit score and his chances to file for a claim. For this reason, drivers with a poor credit score will pay more on insurance premiums, while policyholders with good or excellent credit score will less.
  • Bundle multiple policies. One of the easiest methods used by drivers to save money on car insurance is to bundle policies. Drivers that own at least two vehicles can combine their policies at one insurer and obtain a multi-car discount. Also, drivers can combine different types of policies like car insurance with life insurance, homeowner’s insurance, or health insurance and obtain a multi-policy discount.
