Truths and Misconceptions from Smile Atelier

Over the years, I have heard a lot of people outside of the dentistry world talk about veneers. Some positive and some negative. But nearly all that I hear is based on incorrect or an undeveloped understanding of exactly what they are and how they are created. I want to provide a resource where people can understand what they are and how they can benefit their smile.

Veneers Are Fragile

When people think of porcelain, tough and sturdy is not the first thought that comes to mind. This is a popular myth when it comes to veneers. In fact, porcelain veneers are designed very strong. Strong enough to withstand the same demands of natural teeth. Veneers in many cases can last longer than 20 years, so you can be assured they aren’t weak or fragile. Aluminum when in foil is very thin and easily broken, but, when it is designed for a car engine, it can also be quite sturdy and strong when engineered to be.

I Can Get Veneers and Forget About Maintenance

It is critical that you take good care of your teeth, whether they are natural teeth or veneers. A common issue for people who get veneers is oral care. You must still brush and floss your teeth two to three times per day. This will help make sure you get the full beautiful smile for the life of your veneers.

Veneers Look Fake

This is the number 1 complaint I hear about veneers. The truth is that porcelain veneers are used, specifically, because they reflect light in the same way that your natural teeth do. Veneer specialists know how to create a realistic looking tooth. They implement natural spaces and differing shapes to the porcelain veneers to create a natural looking smile. The dreaded chicklet tooth (square and uniform) is not something that you will get from a specialist. As long as you are seeing a specialist for your veneers, you should have no concerns with teeth that don’t look natural and beautiful.

With that being said…….

Any Dentist Can Place Veneers

As with any industry, Dentists have fields where they practice their expertise. You wouldn’t go to a dermatologist for open heart surgery right? Dentistry have experts in different focuses as well. There is an art to making veneers. Design is just as important as the specific placing of the veneers. Practice and experience are priceless with each veneer specialist. Make sure that you do your research to find the right veneer specialist for you.

Contact a Specialist to Find Out More

Most times, opinions on veneers are not rooted in facts. Information is free and accessible. Just reach out to someone near you who specializes in veneers, or you can reach out to myself to find out if veneers are right for you. AlayaCare Offers Deepest Integration to Medicaid Billing Through Partnership with Waystar Claims Management Solution

AlayaCare, a leading home care software provider, today announced the deepest Medicaid billing integration of its kind through a partnership with Waystar’s claims management solution. With this integration, home care agencies can increase operational efficiency and improve revenue performance, while remaining focused on providing quality care and improving patient outcomes.

“Billing, payment and claim management – these are important and complex functions for any home care agency particularly when the process is manual and paper-based,” said Neil Grunberg, VP Product, AlayaCare. “We offer a fully integrated electronic billing solution that simplifies the process. It streamlines workflows, improves staff productivity, and can mean higher claims revenue for agencies.”

AlayaCare, a cloud-based home healthcare platform for home and community care agencies, has fully integrated its electronic billing capabilities with Waystar’s revenue cycle technology. Waystar offers the industry’s highest-rated client service to more than 450,000 providers, 22,000 healthcare organizations and 750 health systems and hospitals.

“As a longtime partner of AlayaCare, Waystar is excited to help further simplify the revenue cycle and maximize revenue opportunities for home care agencies through this new integration,” said Matt Hawkins, Waystar CEO. “In a world of constantly changing reimbursement rules, providers need intelligent technology to help them get ahead of denials, reduce cost to collect, and bring in more revenue—so they can focus their resources on ever-better patient care.”

AlayaCare’s integration with Waystar facilitates a seamless claims process between providers and insurance payers. With Waystar, AlayaCare clients can pre-screen for claim errors, check insurance eligibility and consolidate and manage their electronic claims from a single location. This greatly simplifies the process, particularly when managing rejected claims. The electronic billing solution allows clients to make any needed corrections and re-submit within the software suite.

Electronic billing can help agencies maximize reimbursement, and in jurisdictions where banking is permitted, agencies can use the built-in tool to track partial hours to ensure that they receive funding for actual time spent providing care.

“There are agencies that are losing money because they aren’t tracking quarter or half units. They’re paying their caregivers, because the service was provided, but not billing for the time,” said Grunberg. “We appreciate that banking is not permitted in all states, but in places where it is, we want to help our clients maximize their revenue in the simplest, most efficient way.”

ID Technology’s New Label Applicator Brings Enhanced Performance in a Small Package

https://www.prweb.com/

ID Technology’s M2 Modular Label Applicator

ID Technology, a product brand of ProMach, introduces the M2 Labeling Head, a new generation of the M-Series. The M2 is a modular wipe-on high-speed label applicator with faster performance, increased accuracy, and expanded capabilities, and it will be exhibited for the first time at Pack Expo 2019, September 23-25, in the Las Vegas Convention Center.

While providing a 4.3-inch color touchscreen HMI and new onboard controls, the M2 Labeling Head remains more compact than its competition. This allows for it to fit where other labelers can’t. The modular labeler can be mounted in any orientation to apply labels to the top, bottom, and sides of customer products or containers. The simple to use onboard HMI can be programmed to hold multiple recipes that can easily be recalled for rapid and repeatable product changeovers.

The M2’s flexibility allows it to be used as a standalone labeling head on a support stand, integrated into a host machine or as part of one of ID Technology’s comprehensive range of turn-key prime labeling systems. By using less parts, the M2 reduces the equipment’s complexity while saving time and money. A new label sensor bracket plate design accommodates both an ID Technology high-speed photoelectric label sensor as well as a high-speed ultrasonic transparent label sensor. It is a quick and easy swap between either sensor type. The M2 is also compatible with a broad range of date/lot coding technologies including, thermal transfer overprinters (TTO), inkjet coders, laser coders and other coding devices.

The M2 comes with many enhancements that allow this labeling head to run smoother than ever before. The M2 is powered by a new stepper motor with closed loop encoder and controls to enhance performance with continuous accuracy. The newly designed web drive offers several advantages including enhanced safety, better ergonomics, easy loading, increased grip, and lower inertia. An additional wiper has been added to provide better tension control of the liner as it travels through the labeler, and the new standard ball-bearing web rollers create less tension in the system. A newly developed and enhanced finishing brush assembly provides a cleaner and more durable brush, used for smoothing out each label.

The guarded nip drive assembly is standard and has been upgraded. Not only is it easier to open because of the protruding lever, the lever is also red, making an open nip more noticeable. Additionally, the new lever is more durable and requires less force to open. The M2 drive roller has better grip and is made of longer lasting material.

The M2’s durability, flexibility, and high-speed capabilities make this next generation model a superior label applicator. Check out the new M2 modular label applicator and many other innovative print, label, and coding solutions ID Technology has to offer at Pack Expo 2019, booth #C-3225. Adalbert Czerny Award 2019 goes to Dr. med. Ferdinand Knieling for his work on using MSOT for diagnosis of Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Muscular Dystrophy

We hope that multispectral optoacoustic imaging can be applied to many applications and can be used to enable safe evaluations of children and adolescents. With this new examination method, many of the currently invasive procedures might become obsolete, says Dr. Knieling

Knieling’s work on a light- and sound-based imaging technique has been shown to have potential benefits for patients suffering from Crohn’s Disease and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. By detection of local changes in hemoglobin and collagen distribution, the technique promises to provide a fast and non-invasive method to visualize and quantify inflammation and fibrosis. The MSOT (Multispectral Optoacoustic Tomography) imaging technology being used has been developed by iThera Medical GmbH, a biomedical device company based in Munich.

In optoacoustic imaging, the physician scans the region of interest through the skin, applying near-infrared, pulsed laser light. The light energy absorbed in tissue is converted into acoustic signals which are acquired by an ultrasound detector. Christian Wiest, CEO of iThera Medical GmbH, comments: “MSOT is an innovative and easy to use diagnostic imaging modality that can detect changes in tissue composition associated with a variety of diseases, without the use of contrast agents. The technology has already been applied in other clinical feasibility studies, e.g. for the detection of melanoma metastasis in sentinel lymph nodes or for the assessment of suspicious breast lesions”.

As a young scientist, Ferdinand Knieling has conducted light- and sound-based imaging in his clinical research projects and published his study results in high-ranking journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine. Having a strong background knowledge in the field of imaging, he says: “We hope that multispectral optoacoustic imaging can be applied to many applications and can be used to enable safe evaluations of children and adolescents. With this new examination method, many of the currently invasive procedures might become obsolete.”
