More Objections to Christianity” is a masterful synthesis of science and the Bible.

News Image

“Truth Seeker: More Objections to Christianity”: a compelling account that introduces a wide range of ancient religious views related to Christianity. “Truth Seeker: More Objections to Christianity” is the creation of published author Warren M. Mueller, a writer who accepted Jesus Christ as his savior and experienced spiritual birth.

Mueller writes, “Was Jesus a Zealot? Has the tomb of Jesus been discovered? Was Christianity an outgrowth of Mystery Religions? What is the relationship between Christianity and the Essenes or Gnostics? Did the Catholic Church create a Bible that is different from apostolic writings? These are some of the questions that have surfaced in recent years and that are discussed in this book. Warren’s father was a deep thinker, a voracious reader, and a seeker after historical truths. He adopted many ideas that challenged traditional Christian views. He believed that religious and political institutions have altered history to reflect their views. While this is true to an extent, there are many solid facts upon which Christianity is founded that support the divinity of Jesus and his redemptive work on the cross. This book continues a dialogue between Warren and his father that spanned more than thirty years and began with Warren’s book: ‘Truth Seeker: Objections to the Bible.’ This book is for those who have questions and problems with aspects of the Bible. It also debunks the ancient alien theory for the creation of mankind.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Mueller’s new book is an enthralling memoir that aims to help to deepen the appreciation of the readers on the deeper study on historical figures, cultures, and religions.

With this book, it gives the readers a deep discussion on the Trinity and the early church, gospel writers, and other subjects related to the development of Christianity

AQYR Technologies, Inc. Receives Critical Product Certification

AN/PRS-11 with 80cm Reflector

“We are excited to offer the expeditionary WGS user community a significant increase in capability to our widely deployed SPRS product,” says AQYR President and Windmill CEO, Carl D’Alessandro.

AQYR Technologies, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Windmill International, Inc., is pleased to announce that it has received Army Strategic Command (ARSTRAT) Wideband Global System (WGS) certification of its 80cm and 60cm reflector options for the AN/PRS-11 Suitcase Portable Receive Suite (SPRS) satellite terminal. This is a “delta” certification as the AN/PRS-11 is already ARSTRAT certified.

An AN/PRS-11 configured with these carbon fiber reflectors provides significantly enhanced performance compared to its baseline flat panel design and to other commercial products in its class. 80cm and 60cm reflector-based terminal systems will be commercially available (as the KA-PRT-80 or KA-PRT-60) and AQYR will also offer standalone dish kits which can be used to upgrade flat panel-based AN/PRS-11 systems.

In addition to ARSTRAT certification, the reflector-based terminals successfully completed rigorous Military Standard (MIL-STD) 810G environmental testing. 810G evaluates how products are going to fare in extreme conditions, and analyzes such factors are shock, vibration, cold, heat, salt, humidity, etc. This important result ensures that reflector-based AN-PRS-11 terminal variants will perform in the most challenging environments our expeditionary users operate in.

New findings from The American Association for Cancer Research show hidden benefits to probiotics

Researchers are still trying to understand all the benefits and applications of probiotics. Until recently, most believed their main uses were specifically for gastrointestinal health, but there are many other benefits to these healthy forms of bacteria. There have been more and more studies where probiotics have been found to have more applications than ever previously understood.

For years, people would generally go to their local grocery store or health supplement store to purchase probiotics. But, recently, more and more dentists are offering these supplements due to the recent research findings where a lot of oral health benefits are being discovered where patients are using probiotics. From fighting plaque and bad breath to managing symptoms of gingivitis and preventing oral cancers, probiotics is a one stop shop for oral health.

A study from the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) in 2013 found that the strain, Lactobacillus salivarius produced better results for oral cancer reduction in rats. “There is no need to wait until you have a stomach issue to begin to take probiotics. You should be preemptively taking them for your oral health now,” says renowned Dentist Dr. Diana Zorro “While the study showed that taking probiotics as a multi formed approach was ideal, simply taking the probiotics lowered the degeneration of proliferating cell nuclear antigen which is essential in DNA repair.

Visit your nearest dentist or visit http://www.smilesforhealthdds.com and learn from Dr. Diana all the extra benefits of probiotics in your life.

Allegheny General Hospital Opens State-of-the-Art Gastroenterology Lab

We now have a beautiful, sophisticated new facility to meet the increasing demand for our services with a level of care, innovation, quality and efficiency that is second to none in our region.

Allegheny Health Network (AHN) and Highmark Health leaders today are celebrating the opening of a new AHN Center for Advanced Endoscopy at Allegheny General Hospital (AGH). The state-of-the-art, 13,000 square-foot facility is equipped with the latest advanced technologies for diagnosing and treating disorders of the digestive system.

Located on the 1st floor of the hospital’s Snyder Pavilion, the new center houses 18 spacious pre- and post-procedure bays, six procedure rooms and is staffed by AHN’s team of experienced, highly skilled gastroenterologists, advanced endoscopists, surgeons and nurses.

“This significant investment in the capacity and capabilities of our gastroenterology program is a testament to AGH’s long-history of providing exceptional, innovative care for patients in need of gastrointestinal screenings, diagnostic exams or therapeutic interventions,” said Elie Aoun, MD, MS, Chief, Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, and AHN Medical Director for Clinical Access. “We now have a beautiful, sophisticated new facility to meet the increasing demand for our services with a level of care, innovation, quality and efficiency that is second to none in our region.”

Procedures commonly performed in the lab include colonoscopy to detect colon cancer and polyps, upper endoscopy for evaluation of mucosal disease, endoscopic ultrasound for staging and sampling of gastrointestinal tumors, and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) for diagnostic and therapeutic management of pancreatico-biliary diseases.

The lab’s ERCP rooms are equipped with advanced imaging equipment that includes the e-view™ MP Fluoro System from Omega Medical Imaging. The only system designed specifically for interventional endoscopy, e-view facilitates the most complex endoscopic procedures by providing physicians with unprecedented visualization of the GI anatomy while significantly reducing radiation exposure to both patients and staff.

Some of the highly specialized, complex procedures performed include endoscopic stricturotomies and fistulotomies for complex inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients, lumen apposing metal stents (LAMS) to assist in the drainage of pancreatic fluid collections, and peroral endoscopic myotomy for the management of swallowing disorders such as achalasia.

“The center’s unique design and build helps facilitate these novel treatments and places it as one of the most elite for the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal disorders,” said Shyam Thakkar, MD, AHN Director of Endoscopy. “From its innovative infection prevention technology, to a video integration system which enables our staff to more seamlessly collaborate in the management of the most complex patients, this facility assures truly best-in-class patient care.”

Recognized by the National Pancreas Foundation (NPF) as a center of excellence for pancreatic care, the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition was also recently recognized by the American College of Gastroenterology(ACG) for its efforts in providing the community the option to receive screening colonoscopies more conveniently on Saturdays. For the second consecutive year, the group received a SCOPY (Service Award for Colorectal Cancer Outreach, Prevention and Year-Round Excellence) for ‘Best Community Service Delivery and Comprehensive Community Education Initiative by a Health System.’

The ACG recommends for most people that colorectal cancer screening begin at age 50. To schedule a colonoscopy or an appointment with an AHN gastroenterologist, call 412.359.8900 or 412.DOCTORS.

Many of you are already successful, but it seems like it’s impossible to reach your greatest potential because you feel you are already operating at your maximum capacity.” Says Kimberly Lou.

“What if I were to tell you that there is a source so great and so powerful within you that all you need to do is tap into it? I am here to tell you there is a whole other level of success you never even knew existed. Imagine a great source that is enormously rewarding, yet all it takes to access this source is a change of your old ideas.”

In Becoming Who You’re Meant to Be, Lou teaches readers how to build a solid foundation for a new life using personal freedom as their foundation.

Verge Health Recognized in the Credentialing 2019 KLAS Report

Verge Health President, Chris Malanuk, said, “Verge Health takes great pride in our customers rating us as one of the highest in the industry for Credentialing Services. We continue to evolve how the healthcare industry manages practitioners to further drive safety efforts.”

Verge Health, the healthcare industry’s leading governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) company, was once again named by KLAS Research as one of the highest in the industry for Credentialing Services in the Credentialing 2019 KLAS Report.

This year’s report, a follow-up to KLAS’ first credentialing report from 2018, dives into how well solutions resolve some of credentialing’s biggest pain points today—time consuming onboarding, manual and paper processes, and the need for a single, enterprise source of truth.

Verge Health President, Chris Malanuk, said, “Verge Health takes great pride in our customers rating us as one of the highest in the industry for Credentialing Services. We continue to evolve how the healthcare industry manages practitioners to further drive safety efforts.”

Verge Health customers were among the most satisfied of the measured customer bases, with larger customers reporting experiences similar to those of smaller organizations. Verge offers an interactive web portal that includes provider profiles and other functionality to support management of the credentialing process. Many, within the report, cite specific outcomes they have achieved through their partnership and engagement with Verge’s software and services, such as “no CMS or Joint Commission issues, no lapsed physician licenses and establishment of an automated peer review process.”

Driving high value, Verge Health continues to be recognized as one of the leaders in the HIT industry addressing credentialing challenges and pain points. Verge received an “A” in KLAS’s six Customer Experience Pillars which included culture, loyalty, operations, product, relationship and value, with the latter receiving an “A+” score.

Each year, KLAS Research interviews thousands of healthcare professionals to provide accurate, honest, and impartial research on the software and services used by providers and payers worldwide for the healthcare IT (HIT) industry. These interviews, scores and commentary are collected in real time so that other providers and IT professionals can benefit from their peers’ experiences.

One Medical Staff Office Director commented about Verge Health, “People want to see the various primary source verifications, and with all the data that we have had within our credentialing system, we don’t ever run into problems. We have taken many surveys in the past few years, and we have never had an issue with any of the basic credentialing requirements. Verge Health’s platform has been very helpful in realizing those outcomes.”

Verge Health’s Credentialing offering pairs software and services, including credentialing services, privilege management, and an integrated practitioner application. Additional process extensions in Verge’s Practitioner Management Application, including the capability to manage peer review, the payer enrollment process and incorporate practitioner performance data, create a turnkey practitioner management tool.

International Health Experts to Discuss Advancing the Science & Art of Integrative Oncology at 16th International Conference of Society for Integrative Oncology

More than 400 healthcare professionals, patients and advocates from 35 countries will convene at the Society for Integrative Oncology (SIO) 16th International Conference, to be held October 19-21, 2019, in New York, NY, to discuss the latest in evidence-based research and clinical practice in person-centered integrative cancer care. This multi-disciplinary forum includes physicians, scientists, researchers, nurses, psychologists, nutritionists, naturopaths, acupuncturists, and other complementary care practitioners.

This year’s theme – Advancing the Science & Art of Integrative Oncology – aims to advance the scientific understanding of the role integrative therapies play in cancer care and to promote patient-centered care that recognizes the values, preferences, and rights of patients and families. SIO continues to be a critical hub, advancing the latest evidence-based research, insights, and collaborations of the multidisciplinary teams dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by cancer,” said SIO President Lynda Balneaves, PhD, RN. “The sessions will highlight the collaborative and multidisciplinary approach involving healthcare professionals and patients.”

The conference is presented in cooperation with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s Integrative Medicine Program, which is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its creation.

Integrative oncology approaches help prevent cancer, facilitate cancer treatment and recovery, and aid in its control through use of diet and complementary therapeutic options, including physical activity, nutritional supplementation, botanical products, mind-body therapies, acupuncture, massage therapy, and more. The options are strategically integrated within conventional medical care models, which often include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery and targeted agents informed by genomic and molecular diagnostics.

Today, significant portions of cancer patients use some types of integrative or complementary therapeutic approaches throughout their cancer journey. In addition to conventional therapies, they want to learn about and utilize an integrative approach to personalized comprehensive care. Integrative oncology interventions have been shown to decrease some of the side effects of traditional cancer treatment, allowing many patients to tolerate their full, prescriptive course, thereby improving clinical outcomes and quality of life. Many health consumers also incorporate lifestyle medicine approaches to help prevent the onset of cancer.

About the Society for Integrative Oncology

The Society for Integrative Oncology is the leading worldwide organization dedicated to integrative medicine specific to cancer patients. A non-profit, multi-disciplinary organization founded in 2003, the organization’s mission is to advance evidence-based, comprehensive, integrative healthcare to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. For more information or to register for the conference, visit our conference web site or contact the SIO at 518-694-5543.
