“I could not be happier to announce that I’m officially back with Lucky Tackle Box,” said Travis Moran. “I witnessed this company come back from the brink of bankruptcy, and I’m thrilled to be part of such an energetic, motivated, and passionate team.”

Lucky Tackle Box announced last week that fishing personality Travis Moran has officially re-joined its executive leadership team following the company’s acquisition in July of 2019. Travis Moran will collaborate closely with the Lucky Tackle Box marketing and operations department, and he will also become an integral component of the improved customer experience by producing monthly content that educates anglers on how to use specific baits, lures, and tackle.

Travis Moran was previously a Lucky Tackle Box partner from 2016 to early 2019, but he was forced to step back from the role due to personal reasons. Following the acquisition of Lucky Tackle Box by Nuvest Ventures in July of 2019, there was an opportunity to reincorporate Travis as “Chief Fishing Officer” on the executive leadership team. Although Travis was initially cautious about supporting the new Lucky Tackle Box brand, he said he took a leap of faith after seeing what the company’s new ownership had planned for the future.

“I could not be happier to announce that I’m officially back with Lucky Tackle Box,” said Travis Moran. “I witnessed this company come back from the brink of bankruptcy, and I’m thrilled to be part of such an energetic, motivated, and passionate team. Together, we’re going to improve customer service and make Lucky Tackle Box the best fishing subscription box money can buy.”

With Travis Moran back on board, Lucky Tackle Box hopes to become a one-stop shop for passionate fishermen and professional anglers to receive education, information, apparel, and high-quality fishing equipment. In addition to producing monthly unboxing videos and how-to tutorials, Travis Moran will offer expert advice and professional insight to help Lucky Tackle Box become more engaging, authentic, and immersed in the angler community.

In addition to hiring Travis Moran, Lucky Tackle Box recently hired a US-based customer service team, and it also created a new account dashboard that allows customers to manage orders, track payments, adjust settings, and – beginning in November – chat with customer service representatives. According to Lucky Tackle Box, these operational updates are all part of a larger shift towards becoming a more transparent, customer-focused brand.

To prove its renewed commitment to its customer base, Lucky Tackle Box has dubbed October as “Customer Appreciation Month.” Throughout the month of October, Lucky Tackle Box will host Facebook LIVE customer service events and product giveaways on social media. Additionally, all new Lucky Tackle Box customers who subscribe to an XL box before October 31 will receive $10 off using promo code Lucky10.

About Lucky Tackle Box:

Lucky Tackle Box is the premier monthly subscription box for passionate fishermen & professional anglers. For one monthly fee, Lucky Tackle Box will ship a curated box filled with an assortment of baits, lures, and tackle from the industry’s best brands. Shipping is FREE in the United States, and members can easily modify and cancel their subscriptions at any time, no hooks attached. Lucky Tackle Box was acquired by Nuvest Ventures in July of 2019, and a new management team assumed operations shortly after. Since that time, Lucky Tackle Box has updated its inventory and refined its mission to provide education, information, apparel, and equipment to the vibrant subculture of fishermen and fisherwomen.

Author J.E. Franklin’s new book “Crouching at the Door” is a sincere and evocative examination of the emotional pain endured by people traumatized by perfidious sin.

News Image

J.E. Franklin, has completed his new book “Crouching at the Door”: an assertion that America’s primary documents are informed by essential principles derived from the Holy Scriptures, and ought to receive the support of everyone who reckons that he or she is a believer in the teachings of the Bible.

Franklin writes, “Life is good. Your house is swept and put in order. Then you hear a noise outside. You pull the curtain away, peering out the window to see an enticing figure grinning at you. You pull the door open, admiring its scent in your nose, appreciating its voice with your ears. You reach out to stroke the silken fabric it wears, only to caress the roughened hide of a scabrous beast.

Gideon Prossiden is a good cop. At least, he thinks he is. But after being assigned a cold case that goes nowhere and being compelled to fight off impending lunacy from an onslaught of absurd hallucinations, he begins to question his good cop status.

Now he’s tangled up in a keen desire for the coroner’s secretary, and with an equally intense guilt for his less than gentlemanly daydreams about her. But she holds the resolution to his cold case, and he must somehow suppress the lechery in his mind while hiding from his anger about her persistent talk of religion and that ‘God stuff.’

It looks like an angel, white robes gleaming with an inner fire. How can it feel so monstrous? Now the thing at the door snarls, hissing, and your mind is roiling with immoral thoughts, lustful thoughts, while sickening scenes of blood and mayhem spatter the carnal circus.

But there is hope. There is one who stands at the door and knocks, whose brilliantly white robe is not a guise. The crux is, how can you tell the difference between them? Gideon Prossiden stands on that crux, and a pretty, blonde warrior stands beside him, desperately fighting to help him see the truth.

Will he fall, and take her with him? Or will his sleeping soul awaken to journey with her on the path to paradise? The battle for their minds started before time began. Who, or what, will prove to be the victor?”

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, J.E. Franklin’s engrossing book is a gripping and potent novel exploring human frailty and the psychological and spiritual costs of sin.

Readers who wish to experience this engaging work can purchase“Crouching at the Door” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.

Bay Area Teen, Saved by Organ Transplant as a Baby, Chosen as Donate Life Rose Parade® Float Rider

https://www.prweb.com/

Khalieghya Dandie-Evans

One family’s decision to donate gave Khalieghya and her family the hope they needed as they watched her fight to stay alive as a baby in desperate need of a transplant.

Khalieghya Dandie-Evans, a liver transplant recipient from Richmond, Calif. was chosen by Donor Network West to ride atop the Donate Life Rose Parade® float in the 131st Rose Parade® on New Year’s Day. She will represent the thousands of people impacted by organ and tissue donation across Northern California and Northern Nevada, the organization’s service area.

Khalieghya, 17, grew up believing it was “normal” to have received an organ transplant. She was born prematurely and diagnosed with biliary atresia soon after birth. A liver from a four-year-old donor saved her life when she was only six months old.

“Being a transplant recipient is all I have known; I thought that everybody got transplants. I am very happy to be alive today as I have lost friends due to transplant-related complications,” says Khalieghya with a bright smile.

Her smile, however, does not embody all of what she and her family went through for her to be alive today. After her transplant at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford, she had to endure many medical tests, hospital visits, surgeries, and treatments.

The year 2020 is very special for Khalieghya; not only will she be a part of the Rose Parade, she will be graduating from high school with honors. Until then, she continues to advocate for organ donation as a Donate Life Ambassador with Donor Network West and volunteers with her local police department and community programs focused on mental illness and resources for the homeless. She is also a member of her high school’s Black Student Union and a multi-sport athlete.

“One family’s decision to donate gave Khalieghya and her family the hope they needed as they watched her fight to stay alive as a baby in desperate need of a transplant. We are happy to have been a part of her journey in becoming the resilient young woman that she is today thanks to the power of organ donation,” says Janice F. Whaley, Chief Executive Officer of Donor Network West.

The Rose Parade, which will take place in Pasadena, Calif. on January 1, 2020, will welcome an estimated 700,000 spectators and will be watched by over 70 million viewers worldwide on television. The parade’s theme, The Power of Hope, honors the opportunity to look beyond challenges of the moment and light a path to a brighter future.

The 2020 Donate Life Rose Parade® float, Light in the Darkness, shares the Power of Hope by highlighting Southeast Asia’s Diwali, or the Festival of Lights, a celebration of light shining in darkness. The float will include 70 participants from across the U.S. Twenty-six organ and tissue recipients or living donors will be atop or walk alongside the float during the parade.

Floral displays overflow from intricate vessels adorned with 44 memorial floral portraits that honor the Gift of Life and light given by deceased organ, eye, and tissue donors.

Nearly 10,000 people await a life-saving organ transplant in Northern California and Nevada. One organ donor can save the lives of up to eight people and a tissue donor can heal more than 75 others Anyone can register as a donor at DonorNetworkWest.org or at the DMV.

About Donor Network West

Donor Network West saves and heals lives by facilitating organ and tissue recovery for transplantation. The organization was established in 1987, and is an official Donate Life organization accredited by the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO) and the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB). Federally designated to serve 40 counties in Northern California and Nevada, Donor Network West partners with the Department of Motor Vehicles and the state-authorized donor registries. In her role, she will be responsible for all business activities and will work closely with Head Winemaker Heidi von der Mehden. Nicole will also work hand-in-hand with Merry Edwards to ensure a smooth and successful transition to the next chapter of the life of the winery.

Nicole was previously Chief Marketing Officer and Director of Winemaking for Hess Family Wine Estates, leading global marketing initiatives, new product development and winemaking across all California and Argentina brands in their portfolio.

She spent the prior two decades at Treasury Wine Estates, where she served in various executive management roles including team leadership of luxury marketing, exports, distributor management, public relations, events and sponsorships, direct-to-consumer and hospitality focusing both domestically and internationally for super premium brands.

Nicole previously represented several beverage companies in Washington, D.C., and later continued her role in public affairs in California, serving as Director of Communications for the California Coastal Commission.

“I am thrilled to welcome Nicole to Merry Edwards Winery. Her demonstrated success in driving successful sales and marketing efforts, direct-to-consumer strategy and implementation, combined with her experience in profitably building luxury brands will be an invaluable asset as Maison Louis Roederer embarks on this new journey in Sonoma County. I am confident Merry Edwards’ legacy will be in good hands,” says Gregory Balogh, President & CEO of Maison Louis Roederer’s US subsidiaries.

“It will be my great honor to continue the legacy that Merry and Ken have built as benchmark producers of Pinot Noir in Sonoma County and with the support of Maison Louis Roederer, we have a tremendous future ahead. She has extensive knowledge of winemaking and viticulture, and is an accomplished open water swimmer, including several crossings from Alcatraz Island to San Francisco.

Merry Edwards Winery

In 1997, family and friends joined Merry to found Merry Edwards Winery, with a focus on producing Pinot Noirs, Sauvignon Blancs and Chardonnays with a sense of place from Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast. In 2008, she and her husband, Ken Coopersmith, completed their winery, where tastings are hosted to educate visitors about Merry’s handcrafted wines and site-specific viticulture. In addition to this property, their estate vineyards include Meredith Estate, Coopersmith, Georganne, Warrens’ Hill and Richaven. Merry and Ken have also partnered with several trusted growers to supplement this estate production.

Maison Louis Roederer

Originally founded in 1776, Champagne Louis Roederer continues as one of the very rare Champagne houses to remain firmly in the hands of the same family, since 1832. For three centuries, seven successive generations have been responsible for building a reputation for unparalleled quality and continuity. Its focus on meticulous viticulture, best demonstrated with an ongoing conversion to organic and biodynamic vineyards, as well as precise winemaking, account for the House’s enduring excellence and success. Frédéric Rouzaud, President & CEO since 2006, is the seventh generation to run his family’s wine company.

Since 1990, Maison Louis Roederer has strategically acquired esteemed family-owned wineries with an approach centered around identical core values, long-term vision and continuity. Ramos Pinto (1990), Champagne Deutz and Delas Frères (1993), Château de Pez (1995), Domaines Ott (2004), Scharffenberger Cellars (2004), Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande (2007), and Merry Edwards Winery (2019). KOAMTAC Expands BLE Companion Barcode Scanners to Include 1D Scanner Models

KDC280 BLE Barcode Scanner in 1D and 2D models

KDC280 BLE Barcode Scanner in 1D and 2D models

We understand that some users don’t need expensive 2D scanning capability and may desire other features, such as a high-density 1D barcode scanning.

KOAMTAC®. Inc., a leading manufacturer of Bluetooth® barcode scanners, RFID readers, mobile point of sale (mPOS) solutions, and enterprise charging solutions have expanded their Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) companions to include two new 1D scanner models.

The new models feature either laser or CCD scan engines and are ideal for those who do not need to scan 2D barcodes as they allow for more scans per charge and an increased scan range. The laser model is direct and extraordinarily accurate in most environments while a CCD model features the added ability to read from a screen.

“While the KDC280C can read the majority of all 1D and 2D barcode symbologies, we understand that some users don’t need expensive 2D scanning capability and may desire other features, such as a high-density 1D barcode scanning,” says Dr. Hanjin Lee, President/CEO. “With the addition of these models, any user can find the BLE companion scanner that’s right for them.”

All KDC280 models are compact and rugged scanning solutions that are IP65-rated and can withstand a drop of up to five (5) feet. They all come with 8MB of onboard memory allowing for the storage of over 400,000 UPC product barcodes in data collection mode or over 60,000 records in database mode.

KOAMTAC recently committed to upgrading all products to BLE5.0 by 2020 and the new KDC280 models will come equipped with this technology right away. BLE5.0 is two times faster, has a range that is four times longer, and consumes less power than it’s predecessors, BLE4.1/4.2.

The Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connection allows for integration with Smart glass and Smartwatches using the Tizen® operating system as well as any Android®, iOS®, or Windows® phone or tablet. The KDC280s feature a generic guest profile as well as traditional

HID/SPP profiles for data transmission to a smart device. When connected using the BLE profile, users will experience less power consumption along with faster and longer data transmission while maintaining an uncompromised connection.

CareConnect Selects Woolpert to Integrate, Manage Google Maps Platform Enterprise Account

News Image

Through Woolpert and our Google Maps Platform, we can efficiently provide the most qualified, available and cost-effective caregivers to those in need.

Woolpert was recently chosen by CareConnect, a software-as-a-service-based (SaaS) technology provider for the home care market, to integrate and manage its Google Maps Platform Enterprise Account. CareConnect plans to leverage this platform to optimize the compliance, automated shift booking, communications and logistics of its caregiver management application.

CareConnect was initially designed for New York home care agencies and is rapidly expanding its national footprint. CareConnect developed a proprietary artificial intelligence-enabled algorithm that pairs individuals who receive services in their homes with a caregiver, considering factors that include compliance, location, cost, availability, skills and travel time. The system works across multiple databases and applications to increase operational efficiencies for home care providers.

“The idea behind CareConnect was to put more power into the hands of caregivers by providing an automated tool to manage their profiles, availability, skills and regulatory compliance,” CareConnect Founder Bert Brodsky said. “CareConnect recently announced strategic partnerships with Sandata Technologies, a leading provider in home health care technology solutions, and Mobile Health Management Services, a provider of clinical and other compliance services to the home care industry. Through these partnerships, we have access to a home health care network that enables providers to more cost-effectively manage their workforce and meet the needs of their clients in the home.

“Our objective is to deliver a more efficient match via our algorithm,” Brodsky said. “From the time the agency gets a new client to the time it matches that client with a caregiver now takes seconds as opposed to the minutes and hours it used to take by calling, emailing and texting with caregivers. It’s a huge value for home care providers because they don’t have to pay for that time. Operational efficiencies equal cost efficiencies.”

CareConnect initially approached Google about integrating and managing its Google Maps Platform to support its expanding network, and Google referred the provider to Woolpert. Brodsky said he had not heard of Woolpert, but a quick Google search yielded information about the firm’s international mapping technologies and “incredibly impressive operations.”

Woolpert began its partnership with Google in 2014 and in 2018 was named Global Google Maps Partner of the Year. The firm also recently expanded into Google Cloud services and products.

“We’d been using a basic version of Google that we’d subscribed to with the API (application programmer interface), but we wanted to leverage this tool to optimize the match around travel time,” Brodsky said. “Our business is logistics-based. The last piece of the puzzle where the matrix and the API come into play is in minimizing costs. Through Woolpert and our Google Maps Platform, we can efficiently provide the most qualified, available and cost-effective caregivers to those in need.”

Woolpert Director of Google Maps Services Rick Bennett said the Google Maps Platform will support CareConnect by providing the company and its customers reliable and highly accurate data, which will allow them to scale their location-based services efficiently.

“CareConnect is ahead of the game in how they leverage technology, yielding the most effective results for the company and its clients,” Bennett said. “We look forward to supporting CareConnect’s current use cases and to all future innovation efforts with cutting-edge, location-based technology moving forward.”

Just Add Ice® Donates 10% of Online Sales for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Two double-spike orchids with white/purple spotted blooms in a ten inch long rose gold planter on a circular coffee table in front of a large leather sofa.

Shop the Premium Orchid in Rose Gold Planter and all other products from Just Add Ice to donate 10% of sales to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in October 2019.

“The company will donate 10% of all e-commerce sales, so there is no limit on which products will result in a donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.”

Online orchid and tropical plant retailer Just Add Ice® has committed to donate 10% of all October e-commerce sales to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

A fall 2019 survey of Just Add Ice consumers reported that nearly half of respondents (45.6%) are interested in purchases that provide a donation to a reputable charity or research organization. While Just Add Ice has selected four featured products for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the company will donate 10% of all e-commerce sales, so there is no limit on which products will result in a donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Orchids are prized as long-lasting floral decor, typically blooming for a minimum of two to three months, and Just Add Ice has made the care of these tropical plants simpler than ever. The scientifically-supported ice watering method allows plant owners to water their orchid with ice cubes, which provide efficient uptake of water by the roots due to the slow melt of the ice. Research shows that ice does not harm roots, leaves, or bloom life of orchids.

Just Add Ice provides support for all stages of orchid life through a complete online library of care blogs, educational web pages, and downloadable resources, as well as customer support via email and social media. Ordering online allows customers to select their ideal delivery date and choose from several bloom color and pot options.
