Genedata Expands Partnership with Boehringer Ingelheim to Digitalize Next Generation Cell Line Development

News Image

Boehringer Ingelheim has deployed Genedata Selector to support the application of next generation sequencing (NGS) in cell line engineering, clone selection and adventitious agent detection workflows.

Genedata, the leading provider of enterprise software solutions for biopharmaceutical R&D, today announced an expansion of its collaboration with Boehringer Ingelheim, a research-driven pharmaceutical company, to digitalize and automate complex cell line development processes. As part of this collaboration, Genedata Selector has been deployed to support the application of next generation sequencing (NGS) in cell line engineering, clone selection and adventitious agent detection workflows.

Many biopharma companies, like Boehringer Ingelheim, are using NGS-based approaches throughout bioprocess development to speed up workflows and create significant cost savings. Genedata Selector harmonizes and automates these NGS-based workflows by providing an integrated data management and analysis platform. Genedata Selector offers all the features required for deployment into regulatory environments in downstream biologics manufacturing.

The centralized approach to global data management provided by Genedata Selector facilitates collaboration among research groups and sites and reduces error-prone exchange of data files. With an easy-to-use interface and enterprise-wide access to experimental data in one secure system, Genedata Selector enables biopharma companies to increase the efficiency of their decision-making processes. For specific applications, such as NGS-based detection of adventitious agents, Genedata Selector also creates the opportunity for biopharma R&D organizations to become independent of external service providers and gain full control of data, resulting in tremendous savings in time and money.

“We are very excited about our partnership with Boehringer Ingelheim, an innovative leader in the biopharma industry,” said Othmar Pfannes, Ph.D., CEO of Genedata. “Genedata is committed to supporting our customers looking to automate and digitalize their bioproduction processes by providing the most advanced and innovative technologies for organizations to maximize their return.”

One woman’s journey from severe Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder to a life lived abundantly

“Kerry is a testament that if one dedicates themselves to treatment; one can overcome this dreadful disease in an overwhelming fashion. I am immensely proud of her progress along with her commitment to disseminate her knowledge for the benefit of others suffering from OCD.”

The books author, Kerry Osborn, is a mental health/OCD advocate, mental health blogger, public speaker, writer and founder of The Obsessive Outsiders digital ‘mentally misunderstood’ movement. Osborn is a long time sufferer of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, which set in as a young adult with no genetic history of mental illness.

Kerry Alayne Osborn lived a completely normal life until the sudden onset of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) at the age of seventeen. Her charmed life turned upside down as her new diagnosis of OCD set in, leaving her life spinning out of control. While trying to live a normal life, as she battled through the maze of OCD, she found her OCD mind had different plans. Unlike the common stigma of OCD, Kerry found herself with a case of OCD that is the exact opposite of the known ‘perfectionism’, and ‘cleanliness’ oriented disorder.

Several dark years later, bound in the chains of OCD, the outsider found herself on a leather couch in a manic state, sitting across from the one therapist who would go on to mentor her to live an abundant life. Once confined to the isolation of her dorm room with no friends, a loss of identity, and betrayal of her own mind, Kerry pushed through to break the foundation of her dire belief system in OCD.

Passing through the waiting rooms of many untargeted therapists, Osborn finally found Jim Sterner, LMFT and enrolled in The Gateway Institute’s Intensive Therapy Program in 2010. It was during the program Kerry initially realized the disconnection of her magical thinking OCD. Osborn has worked for years to live a normal life credited to behavioral therapy and perseverance. Jim Sterner’s reflection on his work with Kerry over the years is profound, stating, “Coming from unimaginable depths of OCD, Kerry’s entire life was completely entangled in her intrusive thoughts, and almost every hour of every day was committed to neutralizing her fears and anxiety through hundreds of compulsions. After committing herself to intensive OCD treatment, Kerry has risen to improbable heights. Not only has she learned to live free of OCD, she has written a beautiful memoir about her personal journey, and is leading a website that has reached thousands of people that are continuously learning and benefiting from her experience. Kerry is a testament that if one dedicates themselves to treatment; one can overcome this dreadful disease in an overwhelming fashion. I am immensely proud of her progress along with her commitment to disseminate her knowledge for the benefit of others suffering from OCD.”

As Kerry slowly immersed back into living life again, she noticed the lack of patient-to-patient memoirs on the market demonstrating living a successful life after the worst of OCD. She decided to create the book of hope she wished she had found during her years of suffering. Osborn credits the book to being the friend she never had for other OCD sufferers to feel less alone and see first-hand that with the proper therapy, tools and perseverance, one can absolutely live an abundant life amidst Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, in a state of ongoing OCD Recovery.

Kerry’s infectious, unapologetic, and refreshing voice doesn’t hold back. In her book, The Obsessive Outsider, she shares her journey, giving sound advice on how to tangibly do something about OCD. Putting the good, bad and the ugly on display for the world, she chooses to be a face for the misunderstood disorder that almost cost her everything. Kerry is devoted to proving that a life in recovery from the worst of OCD is possible, given the right tools and perseverance.

The Obsessive Outsider is now available to be purchased on Amazon in both print & Kindle versions internationally, Apple iBooks, Barnes & Noble, Nook, Kobo, Kobo Plus, Tolino, Baker & Taylor, Scribd, 24 Symbols, OverDrive, Bibliotheca, Hoopla, !ndigo, Angus & Robertson. The book is also available via ISBN on IngramSpark for library and bookstore purchases.

Car Insurance Basics -Top Factors That Influence Insurance Rates

News Image

“Drivers should understand what influences the most their insurance bills”, said Russell Rabichev, Marketing Director of Internet Marketing Company

Cheapquotesautoinsurance.com has released a new blog post that explains the top influential factors for car insurance rates

For more info and free car insurance quotes, visit https://cheapquotesautoinsurance.com/top-factors-that-affect-car-insurance-costs/

When it comes to determining rates and associated costs, insurance companies analyze a vast number of factors. These factors can be classified into 3 main categories: driver-related factors, car-related factors and coverage-related factors. Companies carefully analyze the following factors:

  • Driver’s age. Teen drivers are more likely to get involved in an accident. Younger drivers, under 25 years old, pay higher premiums. Senior citizens that are in their 70s or 80s, also pay higher insurance rates based on their age. In this case, age-related medical problems will impair a person’s driving capabilities.
  • Credit score. Most states, except California, Hawaii and Massachusetts, allow insurance companies to look at the driver’s credit score. They will regularly charge more the drivers with poor credit score, while the ones that have good and excellent credit score will receive lower insurance rates.
  • Driving history. Drivers that were recently involved in accidents, received many tickets, or made previous insurance claims, should expect more expensive premiums. A really bad driving record will even determine the current insurer to drop the client. Safe drivers, on the other side, receive better rates.
  • ZIP code. The majority of car accidents happen close to home. People living in a densely populated neighborhood, with more cars, are more likely to suffer a car accident, vandalism or theft. Parking the car in a garage will make coverage cheaper.
  • Car model. An insurer will ask about car make, model, car type, year of production, installed safety features, condition, etc. Some cars are cheaper to insure than others. Luxury, sports car or extremely customized cars are difficult to insure and regularly will need a specialized insurer.

Government of India Releases Commemorative Coin to Mark 125th Birth Anniversary of Paramahansa Yogananda

India feels strongly about this great son of the universe who brought harmony to all our hearts and minds.

The Government of India has released a special commemorative coin in the amount of Rs 125 to commemorate the 125th birth anniversary of Paramahansa Yogananda. Born on January 5, 1893 in Gorakpur, India, Sri Yogananda, author of the best-selling spiritual classic Autobiography of a Yogi, is widely regarded today as the father of Yoga in the West. The coin release was presided over by India Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at the Central Secretariat in New Delhi.

During the official release, the Finance Minister acknowledged Paramahansa Yogananda’s universal message of world harmony among all humankind, and said, “India feels strongly about this great son of the universe who brought harmony to all our hearts and minds.”

Joining the Finance Minister at the event was Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur; Culture Secretary Arun Goel; Brother Vishwananda, a member of the Self-Realization Fellowship/Yogoda Satsanga Society of India Board of Directors; and Swami Smaranananda, YSS Vice President.

Brother Vishwananda conveyed a message from SRF/YSS President Brother Chidananda, who said, “Paramahansaji sought to spread a spirit of brotherhood among all peoples based on the eternal truth that we are the children of one God, and need to live in friendship, peace, and harmony for our mutual well-being. He also emphasized the importance of seeing the divine in every soul and every living thing; and treating all of God’s creation with respect and reverence.…The release of this commemorative coin by the honorable Finance Minister is a timely recognition of a milestone in the journey of humanity toward this goal of realizing the divine Self in all hearts of all beings.”

Since 1964, when India issued its first commemorative coin—to honor India’s first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru—India has honored a wide range of political, social, and religious leaders with commemorative coins, ranging from Mahatma Gandhi to Rabindranath Tagore.

The commemorative coin honoring Paramahansa Yogananda marks the third time that the Government of India has paid tribute to him. In 1977, on the occasion of the twenty-fifth anniversary of Paramahansa Yogananda’s passing, the Government of India formally recognized his outstanding contributions to the spiritual upliftment of humanity, by issuing a commemorative stamp in his honor.

In March of 2017, a second commemorative stamp was issued by the Indian Government, acknowledging the centenary of of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (the organization that Yogananda founded in 1917), and citing the outstanding spiritual achievements of the society.

The commemorative coin, which will bear the likeness of Paramahansa Yogananda, will weigh 35 grams and contain the following metal composition: silver 50%, copper 40%, nickel 5%, and zinc 5%.

Paramahansa Yogananda (1893-1952), who founded Self-Realization Fellowship in 1920, is widely regarded as one of the preeminent spiritual figures of our time. He has made an indelible impression on the spiritual landscape of the West, contributing to a far greater awareness and appreciation of India’s ancient philosophy of Yoga and its science of meditation. His best-selling spiritual classic, Autobiography of a Yogi, has introduced millions of readers to yoga meditation, and his highly acclaimed interpretations of the Bhagavad Gita (God Talks With Arjuna), the four Gospels (The Second Coming of Christ: The Resurrection of the Christ Within You), and the Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam (Wine of the Mystic: A Spiritual Interpretation), provide groundbreaking insight into the underlying unity of the religious beliefs of East and West.

Born in northern India on January 5, 1893, Sri Yogananda took formal vows as a monk of India’s venerable monastic Swami Order soon after graduating from Calcutta University in 1915. Two years later, he began his life’s work with the founding of a “how-to-live” school where modern educational methods were combined with yoga training and instruction in spiritual ideals.

In 1920, he was invited as the Indian delegate to an International Congress of Religious Liberals convening in Boston. That same year he founded Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF), an international society dedicated to introducing throughout the world his yoga meditation teachings, and to helping people of all races and creeds to realize and express more fully in their lives the beauty, nobility, and divinity of the human spirit.

Next year, Self-Realization Fellowship—which has more than 600 temples, centers and ashrams around the world (another 200 ashrams and centers are in India and neighboring countries under the auspices of Yogoda Satsanga Society, Sri Yogananda’s work in India), and SRF/YSS members in over 175 countries—will celebrate its 100th year anniversary.

For more information about Paramahansa Yogananda and Self-Realization Fellowship, please visit https://yogananda.org, or call 1 (323) 225-2471.
