The White Chapel Project is back, and they have a few promises. On the heels of Governor Phil Murphy’s announcement that restaurants can reopen for both indoor and outdoor dining after the coronavirus pandemic forced dining rooms to close for three months, the owners of The White Chapel Projects in Long Branch, New Jersey relayed the good news to their customers. On June 23rd, the beer hall and eatery posted to their website a list of guidelines that they will be following to ensure customers’ health and safety while dining at the multi-concept establishment when indoor dining resumes on July 2nd.
While the restaurant has been offering take-out services and recently welcomed guests back to outdoor dining, the venue is being transparent with their enhanced safety measures promising a comfortable environment for guests when they return. Their guidelines include: maintaining safe sanitation practices, requiring employees to pass a health check prior to each shift, separating tables to adhere to appropriate social distancing, offering hand sanitizer or hand washing stations, regularly cleaning and sanitizing common areas and surfaces as well as each dining area after use, and sanitizing or disposing of menus, condiments, and utensils after each every use.
The Marilyn Schlossbach Group acquired an operating partnership interest in the White Chapel Projects with original owner, Preston Casertano in January 2020. Casertano had renovated the 120-year-old building and opened as a beer hall, restaurant, and entertainment venue in December 2018. In addition to its spacious indoor dining and bar areas, the property has an 8,000 square foot open-air courtyard. In keeping with Schlossbach’s “farm to table” natural sustainable menu creations, an ecological mushroom growing and harvesting farm has been set up on the property with partner Two River Mushrooms, along with an organic herb and vegetable garden. The redesigned menu offers a mix of casual eats and locally, sustainable focused ingredients that are to be shared in a space inspired by art and nature.
The White Chapel Projects is open Wednesday through Monday for early afternoon bites and dinner. Wood-fired Neapolitan pizza and a selection of Johnny Pork Rolls will also be available soon. The venue frequently hosts backyard acoustic performances as well as special events in the chapel and courtyard.
