EnSoftek is proud to announce that Seadrunar, Seattle Drug & Narcotic Center, Inc., has used DrCloudEHR to successfully submitted their Medicaid Behavioral Health Supplement Data (BHSD) in compliant batch files to the Beacon Web Portal, a State of Washington data reporting system. Seadrunar has been using DrCloudEHR since 2015 to meet their electronic health record and revenue cycle management needs.

“Meeting the state submission requirements has been like building the plane while flying it,” said Angela Grout, Treatment Administrator at Seadrunar. “The requirements continued to evolve as the submission deadline approached, and our process had to incorporate those changes to succeed.”

DrCloudEHR is currently used in 26 states and understands the challenges behavioral health providers face to deliver compassionate care while remaining compliant with state requirements.

“If providers are not able to submit their data, they’re not getting paid,” said Ramana Reddy, EnSoftek CEO and President. “Close collaboration with our providers allows us to stay in synch with evolving state system requirements and submit this vital data.”

Successful submission of the Medicaid BHSD in batch files sets the stage for Seadrunar to move to a fully automated submission process. The Beacon Web Portal requirements for this are still in the works. “We have already developed three DrCloudEHR interfaces to meet Washington state requirements,” Grout said. “We are confident that our partnership with EnSoftek will result in another positive outcome.”

Healthy Directions and Dr. David Williams launch Super Healthy Prostate+ supplement for prostate health–plus unique support for mood, stress, sleep, and sexual function

[ad_1]

“Men now have an effective solution that addresses both the health of the prostate itself as well as important quality of life issues such as mood, sleep and sexual health.” – Ben Teicher, President

Healthy Directions is pleased to announce the introduction of Super Healthy Prostate+, a one-of-a-kind supplement formulated in collaboration with Dr. David Williams, a biochemist and leader in researching effective natural solutions from around the world for over thirty years.

Super Healthy Prostate+ includes clinically validated ingredients to promote healthy prostate function, lessen urinary discomfort, and reduce frequent trips to the bathroom—all without the negative impacts on sexual function associated with other products often taken for prostate issues.

“Super Healthy Prostate+ comes at a time when it’s needed most, with prostate health issues on the rise as well as a national epidemic of sleep deprivation…which for men is often caused by excessive trips to the bathroom,” said Ben Teicher, President of Healthy Directions. “Men now have an effective solution that addresses both the health of the prostate itself as well as important quality of life issues such as mood, sleep and sexual health.”

In addition to the well-known and highly effective herbs saw palmetto and nettle, Super Healthy Prostate+ includes Phytopin® beta sitosterol, Flowens® cranberry extract, and KSM-66® Ashwagandha, three proprietary ingredients backed by an impressive volume of clinical research. This combination takes Super Healthy Prostate+ to a new level of support for prostate health and men’s overall wellness and well-being.

“There have been very few ‘breakthroughs’ in healthy prostate supplements over the past two decades, and most formulas continue to rely exclusively on saw palmetto for support while overlooking key herbs not commonly known for men’s health,” says Dr. Williams. “This is especially true of KSM-66 Ashwagandha, one of the most effective ingredients available to improve sleep quality and mood, boost stamina and muscle size, improve the body’s resistance to stress, and enhance overall testosterone levels – all important issues for men’s health at mid-life and beyond. Yet you’re unlikely to find it in any other supplement for prostate health.”

With just two convenient softgels per day, Super Healthy Prostate+ delivers its unique combination of nutrients in an easy-to-swallow format and is absorbed more quickly than traditional capsules and tablets. This innovative formulation is now available at http://www.HealthyDirections.com, through the Healthy Directions catalog, and on Amazon.

Nomono Raises €5.4 Million in Late Seed Round to Simplify Podcasting

[ad_1]

We’re excited to have the runway to continue our work in simplifying the podcast production process while raising the bar on sound quality for all types of audio storytelling.

Nomono, a Trondheim-based audio technology startup spun out from SINTEF Digital in 2019, has completed their latest funding round, securing an additional NOK 55 Million (€5.4M, $6.4M USD) to fuel their research, development, and growth, after setting out to raise just NOK 35 Million (€3.4M, $4M USD) in this round.

“This is a strong vote of confidence from the investment community that the work we’re doing is important and revolutionary,” says CEO Jonas Rinde. “Our team has built some incredible tools that are already finding traction with our beta customers, and we’re excited to have the runway to continue our work in simplifying the podcast production process while raising the bar on sound quality for all types of audio storytelling.”

Nomono is building hardware and software that makes it easier for professional podcasters, journalists, and audio storytellers to create great sounding immersive audio experiences, and leverages the latest innovations in Spatial Audio that have recently become available through technologies like Dolby Atmos and Fraunhofer’s MPEG-H.

This extends the initial seed round investment of NOK 25.5 Million (€2.4M, $2.9M USD) closed in September of 2020 led by SINTEF Venture and Spintop Ventures (their first Norwegian investment). This round welcomes a number of new investors including Tvenge og Adolfsen.

The Nomono team has more than doubled in size in the past year, and now has employees based in Trondheim, Oslo, Sweden, and New York. At the same time, the podcast landscape continues to grow exponentially, with a more than 280% increase in the creation of new podcasts in 2020, from 300,000 new podcasts in 2019 to almost 900,000 in 2020.

“All these podcasters are working through cumbersome workflows that make field recording and collaboration difficult, often at the expense of creativity and audio quality,” says Rinde. “We’re excited to remove some of these roadblocks so they can focus on the conversations with their guests and colleagues, and to make it possible to bring their listeners right inside the conversation through Spatial Audio technology.”

Nomono’s expertise in Spatial Audio has also become even more valuable given recent announcements from companies like Apple and Netflix around Spatial Audio and podcasting, setting the stage for podcasters to bring immersive audio storytelling to their audiences. Spatial Audio technologies are being implemented for listeners in headphones, smart speakers, soundbars, mobile devices and cars, but the process of creating Spatial Audio requires specialized equipment and expertise that often puts it out-of-reach for the traditional podcaster or journalist. Nomono’s technology removes this bottleneck, giving audio storytellers access to this powerful new medium in a simple, accessible way.

About Nomono

Nomono’s mission is to simplify podcasting and redefine the listening experience by enabling anyone to record immersive audio with uncompromising quality and ease. Founded in 2019 as a spinoff from SINTEF Digital, Nomono’s goal is to provide storytellers and content creators with audio workflows that are smart, simple and deliver excellent sound, while making it effortless to incorporate object-based spatial audio into their craft. Nomono is headquartered in Trondheim, Norway, with satellite offices in Oslo and New York. For more information, visit https://nomono.co

Dr. Nadeen Altaie Completes Dental Implant Seminar Training

[ad_1]

Clay and Associates DDS, PLC

“Dental implants are becoming a standard practice in dentistry,” states Dr. Altaie. “

Missing teeth can make individuals feel self-conscious when eating, talking, or smiling, and create oral health problems as well. Today, a dental implant procedure can give patients a replacement tooth that looks, feels and functions as naturally as the original. Dental implants are artificial tooth roots inserted into the jaw to replace missing teeth.

Today, implants with attached crowns are the preferred method for treating tooth loss because they function the same as natural teeth and help preserve the jaw structure by preventing atrophy from bone loss. Bridgework and dentures address the cosmetic problem of missing teeth but do not prevent bone loss. Benefits of dental implants include proper chewing function, and natural forces on the jawbone to keep it functional and healthy.

Dr. Nadeen Altaie recently completed two extensive weeks of training through the Implant Seminars Implant Dentistry Education program at Santiago, Dominican Republic. The training is designed as an intense, but exhilarating experience where students can place up to 20 implants on actual patients and work with Dr. Arun K. Garg’s expert staff.

During her training, Dr Altair placed 20 implants on live patients and assisted with 20 more dental implants. The implants included anterior and posterior implants, bone grafts along with immediate implants after extraction.

Training also included using PRP / PRF regenerative procedures to assist with a faster patient recovery from the implant surgery. Using this treatment, after tooth extraction increases the speed of healing and prevents post-operative complication by drawing blood from the patient before the procedure and having the blood placed into a centrifuge where it is processed to help separate the blood into distinct layers. Platelets and plasma are then collected from the upper part of the test tube and mixed with bone particles and placed into the socket of the tooth. It is spun at a higher speed, which effectively causes all the heaver cells in the blood, such as white blood cells and stem cells to collect in the bottom part of the test tube and allows the lighter platelets and plasma to collect in the top part of the test tube.

“Dental implants are becoming a standard practice in dentistry,” states Dr. Altaie. “Patients find that the costs of dental implants and dental bridges are very close in price. The benefit of dental implants is they are permanent and cause less damage to surrounding teeth and tissue than dental bridges. After the extensive training and working on patients, I feel completely comfortable expanding my dental care at Clay and Associates.”

Dr. Altaie attended Drake University graduating with a degree in Biology and then attended the University of Iowa College of Dentistry where she graduated with the Class of 2020. She is a member of the Iowa Dental Association, American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Clay and Associates DDS, PLC is accepting new patients at their 1905 North 15th Street, Fort Dodge, IA dental clinic. For additional information call 515-573-7601 or visit us at http://www.clayassociatesdds.com. Follow on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

The HK Smoke Escape Hood Is Now Available To The Public. It May Be Time To Ask, “What Do You Have To Help You Evacuate A Fire?”

[ad_1]

Our Smoke Hood resists open flames and temperatures up to 450 degrees Celsius.

A smoke escape hood could stand between your family’s safety and the devastating effects of a house fire or forest fire.

Whether you are directly in a fire zone, as in living precariously in a wildfire zone somewhere in the dry and vulnerable West, or just a person who doesn’t take fire for granted nor the terrible outcomes for people trapped in their own homes during a fire, you need to hear this warning. A company spokesperson from First Aid Global LLC in Tarzana California believes that now more than ever a Smoke Escape Hood is the ultimate escape device that stands between the safety of your family’s lives and the devastating effects of a fire.

“2021 will soon surpass 2020 as the most destructive wildfire season in California history,” First Aid Global’s spokesperson proclaims from their offices in Southern California. “The escape product comes in a flat plastic folder that contains a sealed smoke hood. We have been selling this device to oil platforms, cargo vessels, businesses and industries for nearly two decades now, but there has always been a market for this life-saving device to the general public. A smoke escape hood could stand between your family’s safety and the devastating effects of a house fire or forest fire. There’s no reason why mom and dad can’t have this inexpensive escape device too!”

The smoke hood is easy to don by simply pulling the device over the user’s head, so with its hermetic rubber gasket neck seal, the device fits adults as well as children. It passed UL Certification and the Kapton Polymide Film actually resists temperatures up to 450-degrees Celsius. A demonstration video of holding a lighter flame to the hood can be seen on First Aid Global’s Youtube Page.

First Aid Global has been selling first aid, safety and preparedness supplies since 1997 and their HK Smoke Escape Hood is only available on their own website at: https://www.firstaidglobal.com/smoke-escape-hood.

State Senator Josh Becker Names StreetCode Academy Nonprofit of the Year

[ad_1]

State Senator Josh Becker and StreetCode Academy Chief Executive Officer Olatunde Sobomehin at the 2021 Nonprofit of the Year for the 13th Senate District

“By offering courses, like game design using Roblox, StreetCode enables local youth to prepare for jobs in our region’s tech ecosystem,” said Senator Becker.

State Senator Josh Becker honored the StreetCode Academy as the 2021 Nonprofit of the Year for the 13th Senate District. The senator praised the organization not only for its ambitious mission but also for redoubling its efforts during the pandemic to bridge a digital divide that threatened to become a chasm for vulnerable communities and people of color.

Since 2014, StreetCode Academy has devoted itself to empowering communities of color with the mindset, skills and access to technology that can expand opportunity by enabling community members to become active participants and innovators in the tech powerhouse that fuels our state’s and our nation’s economy.

“It is telling that in the middle of the Silicon Valley, we have cities like East Palo Alto, which throughout its history has faced a digital divide,” said Senator Becker, D-Peninsula and a Silicon Valley entrepreneur and innovator before joining California’s Legislature last fall, during an online presentation to StreetCode Academy. “In any given year, tackling this issue would be challenging enough. Compound that with a once-in-a-century pandemic, and I can imagine it felt almost impossible.

“But rather than losing hope, amid the myriad of unprecedented challenges you all have had to tackle, you rose to the occasion. You ensured that education and economic opportunities were readily accessible to those truly in need of it.”

Accepting the accolades on behalf of his organization, StreetCode Academy Chief Executive Officer Olatunde Sobomehin said, “In so many ways this past year threatened to widen the gap that exists within Silicon Valley – the poverty in the shadow of wealth and no bridge between. Yet in the midst of an unprecedented crisis, so many people stepped up to provide computers, internet access, technology education, and a hope for a better future. It means the world to be honored by our state leadership in one of the most challenging years. It validates the work of an entire community to never stop pushing toward our best possibilities.”

Before the pandemic struck, StreetCode Academy had served more than 2,000 students of all ages in its in-person classes, in addition to providing networking support and loaner computers to community members. StreetCode responded to the COVID-19 crisis by expanding its remote learning programs and its public and private partnerships throughout the region, Senator Becker noted, reeling off a list of StreetCode successes that include:

  • A growing service tally that now includes more than 5,500 people in the region and about 1,000 people nationally
  • Providing 20,000 hours of free technology classes
  • Partnering with the Ravenswood City School District to provide 2,500 students with free tech support that included training and access to technology
  • Helping to secure laptops for hundreds of students to use free of charge

“By offering courses, like game design using Roblox, StreetCode enables local youth to prepare for jobs in our region’s tech ecosystem,” said Senator Becker, noting that the organization prides itself on serving students of all ages, including 11-year-olds who used their StreetCode-acquired know-how to create and publish apps and retirees who have launched new businesses. “This is what happens when you add equity and innovation: You get organizations like StreetCode.”

The Nonprofit of the Year recognition is part of a program, now in its sixth year, conducted by the California Association of Nonprofits with legislators throughout the state.

Noodoe EV, a global leader in EV charging technology, has deployed the advanced cloud-based operating system Noodoe EV OS to the expanding installations of charging stations by EVCS at club locations owned and operated by Fitness International LLC under the brands LA Fitness, Esporta Fitness, and City Sports Club. The announcement was made by Noodoe CEO Jennifer Chang. EVCS owns and operates the largest network of charging stations in Los Angeles.

“We’re delighted to partner again with EVCS, this time for LA Fitness, Esporta Fitness and City Sports Club,” says Chang. “Noodoe EV OS can power a charging network of one or hundreds of charging stations. Two years ago, Noodoe debuted “Powered By Noodoe,” a global technology partnership program giving businesses everything needed to enter the EV charging market. “Many businesses want to enter the market and become suppliers but face engineering/time to market challenges,” says Chang. “We have done all the heavy lifting by providing business partners with three key advanced technologies: EV charging stations, EV charging software, and Noodoe EV OS cloud platform. Noodoe’s “Powered by Noodoe” program, in partnership with EVCS, puts businesses on the fast track to expansion. Social Security COLA For Next Year Could Be 6.2% Estimate Climbs Slightly According to The Senior Citizens League

[ad_1]

“With one third of the data needed to calculate the COLA already in, it increasingly appears that the COLA for 2022 will be the highest paid since 1983 when it was 7.4%,” says Johnson.

The annual Social Security cost – of – living adjustment (COLA) could be 6.2 percent next year — the highest in almost four decades according to a new estimate from The Senior Citizens League (TSCL). Based on July consumer price index (CPI) data released today by the Bureau of Labor Statistics “The estimate is significant because the COLA is based on the average of the July, August and September CPI data,” says Mary Johnson, a Social Security policy analyst for The Senior Citizens League. “With one third of the data needed to calculate the COLA already in, it increasingly appears that the COLA for 2022 will be the highest paid since 1983 when it was 7.4%,” says Johnson.

Social Security benefits are one of the few types of income in retirement adjusted for inflation. But soaring inflation can still knock a hole in the household finances of retired and disabled Social Security recipients. In 2021 Social Security benefits increased by just 1.3 percent raising the average benefit by about $20. But about 86 percent of Social Security recipients say their expenses increased by much more than that amount. A new survey by The Senior Citizens League asked “Which of the following financial actions have you taken during the COVID-19 pandemic? (March 2020 to present.) Here’s how survey participants responded:

Financial Actions Taken by Retirees During COVID-19 Pandemic March 2020 to Present

Action/Percentage Reporting

  • Spent emergency savings/34%
  • Made changes to retirement savings investments/20%
  • Drew down retirement savings more than usual/19%
  • Visited a food pantry or applied for SNAP benefits/19%
  • Provided room and board, childcare or other assistance for adult children and grandchildren/12%
  • Applied for assistance with heating and cooling costs/10%
  • Went back to work or took a new job/10%
  • Applied for Medicare Savings Program or Extra Help to assist with medical or prescription drug expenses/10%
  • Refinanced a home mortgage/9%
  • Applied for pharmacy assistance program for one or more expensive prescription drugs/8%
  • Applied for rental assistance/4%

Source: The Senior Citizens League, 2021 Retirement Survey: 547 responses.

The consumer price index (CPI) that’s used to make the annual inflation adjustment can make a difference in the amount of Social Security income that beneficiaries receive over time. Under current law, Social Security benefits are adjusted using an index that measures inflation experienced by younger working adults, the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) but does not include the spending patterns of households with retirees age 62 and older. Because this index surveys the spending patterns of younger working adults, it is weighted more heavily for gasoline, which is up 41.8 percent over the past 12 months and driving the steep rise in the COLA. But in 2020 and most of the past 12 years, gasoline prices have been in steep decline. COLAs have averaged just 1.4%.

Retired and disabled Social Security beneficiaries spend their money differently than younger workers, spending more on healthcare and housing. In recent years those categories have increased more rapidly than gasoline but haven’t shown up as higher COLAs because the CPI-W is weighted less heavily for those categories. When retirees don’t receive a COLA that keeps up with their actual costs, their Social Security benefits lose buying power during the course of a retirement. Based on inflation through March, research by Johnson indicates that Social Security benefits have lost 30 percent of buying power since 2000.

Legislation that would tie COLAs to an index that measures inflation experienced by older households, the Consumer Price Index for the Elderly (CPI-E) has recently been reintroduced. The CPI-E tends to grow more quickly that the CPI-W in most, but not every year. “2021 is one of those times when gasoline prices soar and the CPI-W would yield the higher COLA,” Johnson says.
