Margaret J. Pittenger, MSPT announces her return into the publishing scene with the release of “Between Breath and Pain: Creating Sensory Awareness with Gentle Movement for Healing” (published by Archway Publishing), a health/diet/fitness book that integrates breath work with slow gentle balanced movement patterns that open channels of communication with pain.

The exercises in this book are not gym-style movements. The gentle movement is organized to enhance neural or brain learning and to use the symmetrical skeleton as a way to return to balanced movement across all the joints. All the exercises are written out and given in video format accessed by over 50 QR codes to demonstrate how these exercises improve breath and release pain across the body. The patterns in this book include the partnership of the whole body and the breath work across all the cells to create change in the brain and muscle partnerships. There is also a special section for pregnant women on breath and releasing pain.

“As you read about and use the movements I present in this book, please maintain a sense of self-awareness as you follow the rules I have laid out for the breath, the movements, and the practice. I ask you to practice the concept of ‘No Pain’ as you follow the movement patterns. This means to move slowly and remain aware of your movement so that there is no pain as you move. I believe when you practice the ‘No Pain’ method, you will find that your body is listening,” Pittenger says.

When asked what she wants readers to take away from the book, Pittenger answers, “our bodies come equipped with everything we need to be healthy, symmetrical and free from pain. Pain is often a learned entity and can be unlearned through breath work combined with slow, gentle researching of the brain’s expectations. As you move and breathe through this book, be gentle with yourself. Give yourself support. The moment you take a conscious outbreath is the start of pain-free living. Have hope!” For more details about the book, please visit https://www.archwaypublishing.com/en/bookstore/bookdetails/835915-between-breath-and-pain
