As the COVID-19 pandemic takes away lives and livelihoods, it has also opened up a new frontier of misinformation and disinformation that threatens to cause irreparable harm to us and our efforts to stop it. The organizational strategy firm Build n Blaze recently launched #Normal4Now on Build n Blaze TV, a social media campaign to address the reality of COVID-19 in all our lives by sharing facts and busting myths daily @BuildnBlaze or @BuildnBlazeTV on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
The campaign’s primary goal is to tackle misinformation and disinformation by providing neutral and easy to digest information on topics including the symptoms and spread of COVID-19 or how to stay healthy and fit when facing stay-at-home restrictions. For instance, as disinformation about masks fuel an unexpected cultural divide; the program recently spent a week focusing on simple facts about masks: when and how to wear them.
