Paden began his professional life teaching chemistry for ten years at Cornell University. After graduating from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine if Yeshiva University in 1982 and serving his internship in Portland, Oregon, Paden has practiced ophthalmology in Medford, Oregon where he says the number one complaint he hears from patients is “uncomfortable eyes. If your eyes are uncomfortable,” says Paden, “you are unhappy and not performing at your best.”

Kleyne also points out that “dry eye is over-evaporation of the eye’s tear film. There are no two eyes alike, no two fingerprints alike and no two skins alike.”
Kleyne teaches immunity strengthening and protection education and also that there is only one dry eye product in the world, Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®, that is 100 percent Trade Secret water and naturally pH balanced without formulating it. “The pH balance is what gives the immunity strengthening protection to the eye.” Noting that Paden is one of the authors of her educational animation of the tear film, which shocked so many viewers, Kleyne asks him to teach the audience about the tear film.
“The surface of the eye,” Paden begins, “is the tear film. The number one role of the tear film is to fill the microscopic bumps in the cornea to give you an optical surface that allows very precise vision. The tear film,” Paden continues, “requires three layers in order to stay on the cornea and not run down and off the eye. There’s a mucous layer on top of that, and an aqueous layer that is almost 100 percent water.”
Paden also teaches that “there is an extremely thin surface on the tear film which consists of a single layer of lipids or fats. It is there to slow down evaporation. This area,” adds Paden, “is full of microorganisms. The tear film is actually an army of antibody molecules. If the eye dehydrates, the antibody molecules don’t work as well. Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® is the only tear supplement that is pure water delivered to the eye as a micron-size mist.” Paden says that other dry eye products flood the eye, washing away the molecular antibodies needed for immunity strengthening protection. When Kleyne asks about the actual size of a micron, Paden explains that a micron is a millionth of a meter, much less than a millimeter.
