When Arturo Lopez’s dad was diagnosed with aggressive dementia, he and his family did everything they could to make sure he was as happy and as comfortable as possible. They did what they could to care for him and to make sure the house was maintained and it gave Lopez a firsthand look at the challenges older adults face as they age in place. We kept my dad at home until caring for him and the house started to negatively impact my mom’s health, but I think, if we’d had a company like TruBlue to take care of their house, he could have stayed home longer. That’s the kind of difference I want to make for the people in my own community with TruBlue,” Lopez said.

To assist those with ongoing home care needs or who want to take property management off their plates entirely, TruBlue has a monthly House Care Plus program, which enables clients to hire TruBlue to provide regular, monthly maintenance. TruBlue also works with homeowners, realtors and rental property owners who need to quickly get homes move-in ready and keep them maintained, and has commercial services for business clients.

Lopez has a Master’s degree in International Business and Finance and is the owner of Vistage Worldwide, a local business and executive coaching company. He had been looking for another business opportunity when he started researching TruBlue. He launched TruBlue West Houston with the support of his wife, Elena, who is the CFO for her family’s business, as well as their two children – Gabriel and Alejandro. Lopez’ sister, Linda Lopez, will be joining the business to run the back-office operations.

Tutera Senior Living & Health Care announces the completion of Tiffany Springs Senior Living, its $55-million, luxury, rental-based community in North Kansas City. A special ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, September 26, at 3 p.m., will mark the Grand Opening. The use of electronic clinical outcome assessments (eCOA) is surging in clinical trials. Despite this trend, there is still some hesitation to embrace eCOA for fear that building an electronic version of an existing COA may “break” an instrument’s psychometric properties.

Fortunately, regulatory guidance and industry best practices have helped researchers to ensure modification to validated COAs when migrated to electronic platform has not undermined the instruments’ measurement properties. Guidance documents recommend mode equivalence studies of varying levels of complexity and associated cost, dependent on the extent to which an instrument is “changed” when migrated to a different mode of administration. The recommended studies can be expensive and time-intensive– requiring recruitment of 10-75 patients and up to 6-9 months to design, execute and analyze the study data.

In recent literature, eCOA experts suggested that mode equivalence testing may be eliminated for instruments that require only minor modifications when migrated to a new mode of administration, provided industry best practices for faithful migration are followed and the resulting screens undergo expert screen review.
