Susan and Brian Graveno

Brian and I have both been impacted by the kinds of situations our clients are facing and, because of this experience, we understand what it takes to get through those kinds of transitions. We know it is a stressful and difficult process, both for the senior and for the family. – Susan Graveno

Susan and Brian Graveno are pleased to announce the launch of their new senior- and family-focused business, Caring Transitions of Lehigh Valley.

Caring Transitions’ specially-trained professionals handle decluttering, organizing, packing, moving, resettling, in-home estate sales and online auctions, estate clearing and preparing homes for market. Caring Transitions of Lehigh Valley serves Allentown, Whitehall, Orefield, Macungie, Emmaus, Quakertown, Coopersburg, Center Valley and the surrounding areas.

“Brian and I have both been impacted by the kinds of situations our clients are facing and, because of this experience, we understand what it takes to get through those kinds of transitions. We know it is a stressful and difficult process, both for the senior and for the family. We are focused on providing high-quality services that help our clients get through those transitions as quickly and smoothly as possible. Our team will do whatever we can to help your family,” Susan said.

Brian is an only child and, when his mother passed away, he and Susan sorted through a lifetime of memories to clear her estate. Susan’s parents lived in an independent living community and, at the same time her father needed hospice and skilled care, her mother needed to be moved into assisted living. Those experiences led them to Caring Transitions and, after Susan’s father died, they made the decision to open their own local franchise.

“My father, Robert Zentz, was the President/CEO of Fellowship Community for more than 22 years. When he passed, I found myself thinking about the joy he got from working with seniors and the impact he made on so many people in our community. I wanted to make that kind of impact. That inspired us make the decision to bring Caring Transitions to this community,” Susan said. “We’re looking forward to providing a much-needed service in this area through a company that’s built on compassion and care.”

Caring Transitions’ services are perfect for managing the many aspects of a senior move or assisting with the process of downsizing to provide a safer living situation, as well as for busy families and people clearing out the home of a loved one who has moved into assisted care or passed. All of Caring Transitions’ services are customizable, so clients choose the solution that best fits their needs.

Susan and Brian are long-time Lehigh Valley residents who have been married for more than 30 years and have three adult children – Evan, Molly and Emily – who will also be involved in the family business. Susan has spent the last 30 years in healthcare sales and marketing. Brian has a background in technology sales and sales management. Throughout their professional careers, they always wanted to have a positive impact on others and their community.

Caring Transitions of Lehigh Valley is bonded, insured and their W2 employees have been background checked. For additional information call (610)904-8093, email SGraveno@CaringTransitions.com or visit http://www.CaringTransitionsofLehighValley.com.

Embr Labs To Accelerate Expansion into Wellness and Digital Therapeutics with $6M In Series B Financing

News Image

With the backing and expertise of the new and existing investors, we have the potential to improve our technology to substantially impact lives. The Series B funding will accelerate the development of our core technology platform and help us realize our thermal wellness vision.

Embr Labs, the breakthrough thermal technology company and creator of the Wave bracelet, today announced $6M in Series B funding led by DigiTx Partners, with participation from Safar Partners, Joyance Partners, Bose Ventures, and PBJ Capital. Embr Labs will use the investment to grow the company’s footprint in wellness and digital therapeutics, accelerate development for the next generation of its core technology platform, and validate new use cases in thermal wellness.

Since the launch of the Wave bracelet in September 2017, Embr has sold tens of thousands of devices to those who desired to harness the restorative power of temperature. Founded by three engineers in a cold lab at MIT, Embr Labs started with a basic insight: temperature impacts the way we feel and if temperature can be personalized and delivered in new formats, then it unlocks the therapeutic power. Embr Labs’ patented technology harnesses the power of thermal sensations to deliver safe, non-invasive, and natural therapies that leverage the body and mind’s natural response to temperature to promote relief from hot flashes, manage stress, and enhance sleep.

Embr Labs’ flagship product, the Wave bracelet, features Embr Labs’ core innovation, its patented thermal waveforms – dynamic temperature sensations that cool or warm temperature-sensitive nerves with algorithmically-designed waves. This technological breakthrough is what makes cooling in a small wearable device possible while reducing power consumption and system size.

“Embr Labs is not only a commercial company defining Thermal Wellness, but also a digital health company with great potential to substantially impact several therapeutic areas,” said David Kim, M.D., Managing Director of DigiTx Partners. “Moreover, significant real-world evidence can be captured through the Wave devices, which would lead to more personalized and optimal therapy for the users.”

“There are over 330 million women affected by hot flashes, 2.5 billion people dealing with stress-related issues and 1.5 billion people experience sleep discomfort,” said Elizabeth Gazda, Embr Labs CEO. “With the backing and expertise of the new and existing investors, we have the potential to improve our technology to substantially impact lives. The Series B funding will accelerate the development of our core technology platform and help us realize our thermal wellness vision.”

Along with the funding, Embr Labs is rebranding to align the company’s design and tone with its new thermal wellness ethos. Built upon two foundational pillars: Care for People and Scientific Rigor – the new design highlights the company’s focus on using thermal science to improve self-care. The Embr Labs name, which stands for Environment-Mind-Body-Resonance, remains unchanged. The new brand identity rolls out today across the company website, packaging, and mobile app.

Texas Now Tracking Sexual Assault Evidence Statewide with STACS DNA’s Track-Kit

News Image

“STACS DNA was able to bring the whole state of Texas online in just a few months,” says Steve Gareau, Chief Information Officer for STACS DNA.

STACS DNA, the sample-tracking solutions company, today announced that Texas has completed its statewide rollout of the Track-Kit sexual assault evidence (SAE) tracking system. Live as of September 1, the system gives vital SAE status and location information to users at an estimated 3,000 state agencies, made up of more than 20 crime laboratories, 80 medical facilities, 300 prosecutor’s offices and 2,500 law enforcement agencies. Most importantly, it is available to more than 15,000 survivors per year.

“STACS DNA was able to bring the whole state of Texas online in just a few months,” says Steve Gareau, Chief Information Officer for STACS DNA. “This included gathering feedback from different user groups around the state, customizing Track-Kit based on their input, and developing a comprehensive training plan with sessions for all of the different users – hospitals, law enforcement, DNA labs and prosecuting attorneys.”

Texas has been a STACS DNA customer since 2009 when it selected STACS Database for DNA sample tracking and lab management in its CODIS laboratory. More recently, the state gave both Track-Kit and STACS Database its highest customer satisfaction rating for services. The implementation services STACS DNA delivered for the SAE tracking program included customization, configuration, and training. STACS DNA continues to provide on-going multi-channel support to end-users statewide.

“We’ve developed a valuable relationship with Texas DPS over more than a decade working together,” said Jocelyn Tremblay, President and COO, STACS DNA. “We are very pleased to expand our mandate and support the people of Texas in this important initiative.”

With the enactment of a tracking system law in 2017, Texas became the first state in the US to enact all six pillars of comprehensive rape kit reform and earlier this year established time frames for the submission and analysis of newly collected kits.

Track-Kit has now been implemented in five states – Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, Texas and Washington – with other states to be announced.

ABOUT STACS DNA

STACS DNA offers sample tracking software for forensics and healthcare. Track-Kit™ tracks every sample statewide to prevent delayed or lost kits and keep thousands of stakeholders informed. STACS® software is the most comprehensive DNA sample tracking and lab management software, maximizing processing throughput and minimizing risk.
