Zenoti Strengthens Leadership in the Beauty & Wellness Industry With a Makeover of Its Own

Zenoti Logo

Salons & spas don’t just make people look better & feel more relaxed. They create confidence, invigorate energy, and inspire people to unlock the greatness within. We wanted our brand to reflect that. In the way we look, and more importantly, in how we behave and interact with the world.

Zenoti, the leading cloud-based platform for spas, salons and med-spas, today unveiled a new visual identity that closely aligns it with the beauty & wellness industry. The new look will be displayed across all company properties including a revamped website.

“We’ve always admired our customers because of the way they touch people’s lives,” said Sudheer Koneru, CEO, who has himself run a spa before founding Zenoti. “There is a deep link between how people feel and how they perform. Salons & spas, therefore, don’t just make people look better & feel more relaxed. They create confidence, invigorate energy, and inspire people to unlock the greatness within. We wanted our brand to reflect that. In the way we look, and more importantly, in how we behave and interact with the world.”

The new logo portrays Zenoti as creating a “zone of tranquility” within the noise of everyday distractions. The calming blues & greens interplay with the red dot that stands for the greatness unleashed when people feel good. The new look & feel has been carried across all communication including the company website zenoti.com.

“We don’t see ourselves as a software company,” said Guy Weismantel, Senior VP of Marketing at Zenoti. “We see ourselves as a beauty & wellness brand, that creates cutting edge software that helps spas, salons & med-spas keep in touch with rapidly increasing customer expectations. Our new identity acts as the foundation for powerful communication that builds on this.”

To demonstrate the commitment that Zenoti has to unlock the greatness in everyone, the company announced the formation of the Zenoti Foundation, an independently run organization that will support volunteer activities to extend the goodness of beauty & wellness to communities that don’t have access to them. Additional information on the foundation can be found on feelgoodfindgreat.org.

DuPont™ Sorona® Fabrics Showcases Recyclable, Spandex-Free Stretch Jacket at Outdoor Retailer and ISPO Munich 2020

We’re proud to debut this soft and luxurious jacket that features partially plant-based Sorona® fabrics throughout and has the added benefit of being recycled at its end of life.

The DuPont™ Sorona® brand team is challenging designers to think about the full lifecycle of a garment by showcasing a ski jacket where every layer is a spandex-free stretch solution that can be recycled. The ski jacket – using partially bio-based Sorona® fabrics for the inner and outer layers, the insulation, and the faux fur trim – is debuting exclusively at the upcoming Outdoor Retailer Snow Show on Jan. 29-31, 2020 in Denver, Colo., and at ISPO Munich, Jan. 26-29, 2020.

Combining the long-lasting performance of Sorona® fabrics with the concept of circular economy, this jacket is compatible with single stream polyester recycling, meaning the fabrics can have a second life when it’s time to finally retire the garment. Designed by Youngone, this stylish jacket incorporates the recently launched ECOLoft™ FLEX SR insulation based on UNIFI REPREVE® fibers and bio-based Sorona® polymer fibers offering warmth and long-lasting stretch for hitting the slopes time and time again.

“Stretch fabrics with even 1 percent spandex or elastane, if not reused, tend to head for the landfill,” explains Laurie Kronenberg, Global DuPont™ Sorona® Brand Manager. “That is why it is so important to understand that if a polyester stretch garment has elasterell-p or elastomultiester to enhance the garment’s stretch performance, it can be mechanically recycled. Educating everyone from designers to the material handlers in the recycling facilities that there is a stretch fiber option that can be mechanically recycled in a 100 percent polyester construction will have a positive impact on the environment.”

“We’re working with multiple value chains and thinking of the entire lifecycle of a garment,” said Renee Henze, DuPont Biomaterials Global Marketing Director. “Every stakeholder has to pull together to create solutions for sustainable fashions. We’re proud to debut this soft and luxurious jacket that features partially plant-based Sorona® fabrics throughout and has the added benefit of being recycled at its end of life.”

Sorona® fabrics used in the jacket:

  • Outer Layer – Long-lasting and spandex-free Duream stretch fabric highlighting the mechanical stretch and recovery performance of Sorona® fabrics.
  • Insulation – Recently launched ECOLoft™ FLEX SR by Youngone combining UNIFI’s REPREVE® fibers with DuPont™ Sorona® polymer fibers.
  • Trim – New Sorona® faux fur, a soft, versatile and long-lasting fur alternative.
  • Lining – Spandex-free comfort stretch fabric from Jin Jin illustrating the versatile applications across the Sorona® fabric portfolio.

Sorona® fabrics offer the perfect comfort stretch performance without breaking down over time due to heat, UV rays or chlorine exposure – meaning clothes continue to look, feel and perform great after each wear. This can lengthen the life of the garment for multiple uses and when it is finally time to retire the garment, it can be mechanically recycled rather than being directed to the landfill like spandex.

For more information, visit the DuPont™ Sorona® booths at the Outdoor Retailer Snow Show (Booth #56012 UL) and ISPO (Hall C1, Booth # 317).

Meridian at Ocean Villa is Ecstatic to Receive a Deficiency-Free Survey

Ocean Villa front of building

Meridian at Ocean Villa

This unparalleled score is undeniably reflective of the extremely qualified and caring staff at Meridian at Ocean Villa that consistently delivers the highest quality of care to our residents.

Meridian at Ocean Villa in Santa Monica, a Meridian Senior Living assisted living community, has received a deficiency-free survey in March 2019 as administered by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).

“We’re very excited to receive a deficiency-free survey from the State,” said Glen Cummins Regional Director of Operations of Meridian Senior Living. “This unparalleled score is undeniably reflective of the extremely qualified and caring staff at Meridian at Ocean Villa that consistently delivers the highest quality of care to our residents.”

In order for an assisted living community to achieve a deficiency-free survey, all services provided at the facility must meet or exceed all state and federal standards. A deficiency-free survey in California’s rigorous inspection is uncommon and a key indicator of excellence for an assisted living community. According to CDPH’s 2016-17 data report (most recent available) over 17,000 deficiencies were recorded among senior living communities.

Assisted living communities are inspected periodically to evaluate services and systems in place and oversee compliance with federal and state laws and regulations. In a multi-day process, inspectors arrive unannounced to assess the facility. Surveyors determine compliance with regulations governing areas including policies and procedures, resident care, quality of care and quality of life, medication administration, medical records, kitchen sanitation, staff competencies, dietary needs, equipment, safety, and overall wellness of the community. The assisted living community is awarded a “deficiency-free” survey when all of these regulations are met.

At Meridian at Ocean Villa, receiving an excellent state survey means that seniors can expect the highest level of care in a prime environment, which is important when selecting a senior living community. OakLeaf Wellness + Health Launches Its Vitalibis Wellness Professionals and Digital Ambassadors Programs

Vitalibis Full Spectrum CBD Products

OakLeaf Wellness and Vitalibis Opportunity Event

“We are excited to further our relationship and execution of our mutual business-building strategies with OakLeaf. Our upcoming Opportunity Event is another excellent way to educate and spread awareness.” – Steve Raack, CEO of Vitalibis.

Following a successful distribution partnership with Vitalibis, OakLeaf Wellness + Health is kicking off its Wellness Professionals and Digital Ambassadors Program with an engaging and informational event on January 24th at 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm at the Newport Hills Association, 1900 Port Carlow Place, Newport Beach CA 92660.

Hosted by Steve Raack, CEO and Co-Founder of Vitalibis, and Adam Tolk, Managing Partner of OakLeaf Wellness + Health, this special event will cover the current CBD landscape, Vitalibis company culture, Vitalibis products and the generous compensation plans for both Digital Ambassadors and official OakLeaf Sales Representatives.

“We are very excited about being able to offer amazing opportunities to those looking to grow their income and support high-quality and effective wellness products from Vitalibis,” says Adam Tolk. “We look forward to educating and empowering our Sales Representatives with the tools they need for mutual success in 2020.”

All Vitalibis products are sourced from environmentally-conscious farms in the USA and are 3rd-party tested to validate potency, safety and efficacy. However, the way Vitalibis extracts their oil is their major difference. Where it’s common for brands to extract oil using harsh solvents and CO2, Vitalibis uses precise bursts of heat. This patent-pending extraction process produces a terpene-rich, full-spectrum oil containing many beneficial elements. As a result, their oil does not need additional flavoring to taste better.

“We are excited to further our relationship and execution of our mutual business-building strategies with OakLeaf,” says Steve Raack, CEO of Vitalibis. “Our upcoming Opportunity Event is another excellent way to educate and spread awareness, while engaging additional Ambassadors and Sales Representatives. As a brand, we put education first for two reasons. One, there is tremendous misinformation on the market today surrounding CBD, which leads to a low level of trust. And two, not all CBD oil products are the same so it’s important to know what to look for when selecting a product. Connecting directly with people is critical to education and building trust.”

New Spiritual Self-Help Book Invites Readers to Restore Their Lives After Trauma

“I AM: Your Guide to Mind and Body Union for Total Awareness” by Maggie Moor

We can connect to the natural sources of energy in our bodies by focusing on our mind, body and spirit,” said Moor. “When you focus on self-love by connecting to these resources, you will find that you can live a richer, fuller life.

Author, healer and psychoanalyst Maggie Moor has developed a spiritual self-help book that outlines her somatic healing method to help those who have been through trauma. “I AM: Your Guide to Mind and Body Union for Total Awareness” is designed to help readers who have endured trauma to become self-aware and create a mind, body and soul connection within themselves.

As a woman who faced childhood sexual abuse, drug and alcohol addiction and various other dangerous situations, Moor was motivated to develop her book to connect with others who have endured similar experiences in their lives. In “I AM,” Moor emphasizes the importance of unifying the mind and body to achieve total awareness within oneself while here on Earth. She details concepts such as energetic awareness, healing the inner child and cultivating somatic experiences as tools readers can use to heal their past trauma.

“We can connect to the natural sources of energy in our bodies by focusing on our mind, body and spirit,” said Moor. “When you focus on self-love by connecting to these resources, you will find that you can live a richer, fuller life.”

Moor encourages readers to implement the healing tools in “I AM” by including various journaling prompts and meditation techniques within the book. When readers follow this informative self-help guide, they can begin to bring these tools to fruition in their lives and find complete awareness within themselves.

Moor also delves into the personal reality that humans create in their life experiences. Moor advocates for readers to be open to both what they consider to be “good” and “bad” experiences and reassures that all life events reflect one’s own perception. She concludes that we are all on Earth to simply experience life.

Companies Join Forces to Address Urgently Needed Quality Control of CRISPR Genome-editing

“There is a rapidly increasing need for better quality control of genome-edited cells. With this new QC tool based on CRISPR-Chip, researchers can easily confirm the precision of their CRISPR experiments, for example, detection of potential off-target events,” says Jens-Ole Bock

COBO Technologies and Cardea Bio partner to bring solutions to challenges with the precision of Genome editing. The partners have agreed to co-develop and market a portfolio of CRISPR QC products and services for quality control (QC) of CRISPR research, agricultural, and pre-clinical programs. Over the longer-term, the parties aim to develop a COBO branded QC device based on Cardea’s CRISPR-Chip™ QC technology for use before and after genome-editing in the pre-clinical setting.

With the new strategic partnership, the Danish company COBO Technologies, which specializes in quality control of CRISPR-modified cells of any kind, will collaborate with San Diego-based (bio)technology infrastructure company Cardea to bring powerful QC products and services for better genome-editing applications to the global life science and agriculture markets.

The partners have begun product development of a CRISPR QC tool based on Cardea’s innovative biology-gated transistors™. By adding CRISPR-Chip QC capabilities to the Cardean transistor infrastructure, the teams will be able to achieve sensitive and fast quality control of CRISPR experiment subparts (e.g. gRNAs, Cas systems and versions, on-and-off target activity) -and the resulting genome modified cells.

“There is a rapidly increasing need for better quality control of genome-edited cells. With this new QC tool based on CRISPR-Chip, researchers can easily confirm the precision of their CRISPR experiments, for example, detection of potential off-target events,” says Jens-Ole Bock, CEO and founder of COBO Technologies.

COBO’s tools include the proprietary CRISPR InDel Profiling Platform (CIPP™) developed for in-depth detection of genome editing outcomes and PIPPR® created for extensive proteome expression profiling after CRISPR edits. Beginning in 2020, the strong sales team at Nanosens (a wholly-owned Cardea subsidiary) will market and sell COBO’s services and products for quality control in the US.

“This is a unique opportunity for us to enter the global markets together with a very competent partner that is already a part of the global CRISPR QC conversation,” says Mr. Bock.

COBO and Cardea began the development of a QC CRISPR-Chip at the start of 2020.

“Cardea and its Innovation Partners are consistently finding new ways to leverage our graphene-based, biology-gated transistor infrastructure to help the world Conduct Biology™,” says Michael Heltzen, CEO of Cardea. “In this example, our proprietary, award-winning CRISPR-Chip technology provides our partner with a unique and transformational solution to gain near-instant insight into what CRISPR is doing and whether the experiment is going according to plan. If researchers around the world are going to alter the genomes of living things, we think they must get it right, hence why we are pushing hard to give them fast and precise quality control tools together with the expert team from COBO.”

“The QC CRISPR-Chip will expand and strengthen the way we do quality control of CRISPR cells today. On top of that, the platform is portable and easy to adapt to clinical settings in the future. We already have a solid customer base eager to test Cardea’s CRISPR-Chip platform, so we’re quite excited about building our product on the Cardea infrastructure,” says Mr. Bock.

The strategic partnership will be announced at the Precision Medicine World Conference in Silicon Valley, Jan. 21-24, 2020. Visit both partners at Booth #B1714 and join the panel discussion: “How CRISPR Revolutionizes Genomic Medicine” on Friday 24th at 3:30 PM, where Mr. Bock and Cardea’s CSO, Dr. Kiana Aran, will be speaking about the importance of quality control when using CRISPR.

PIPPR® and CIPP™ are trademarks of COBO Technologies. Biology-gated transistors™ and CRISPR-Chip™ is a trademark of Cardea Bio.

About Cardea

Cardea Bio is developing a new generation of (bio)technology infrastructure based on proprietary biology-gated transistors (“Cardean transistors”). Cardean transistors leverage biocompatible graphene instead of silicon and replace optical signal observations with direct electrical molecular signal analysis. Until now, life science data was comprised of static snapshot datasets. With Cardean transistors, the company and its Innovation Partners can generate streaming multi-omics data to measure real-time biological signals. Cardea is now manufacturing chips at scale and partners have started to significantly expand the amount, type and quality of biological data they capture by building products that Conduct Biology™. Cardea is headquartered in San Diego, California.
