By combining inventive designs with the finest materials, infused with the philosophy of a seamless experience, we have crafted an interconnected product line to make life easier, more convenient, and aesthetically pleasing, creating a lifestyle within the technology universe.

PITAKA (ipitaka.com), the leader in high tech material-based consumer technology accessories, introduced the Air Omni today at CES, the world’s first MFi Certified 6-in-1 wireless nightstand charger and device organizer, equipped with a convertible Lightning / USB-C tablet charger, standard USB type-A and USB-C side ports, and a hidden storage drawer.

The Air Omni supports charging for a mix of up to six iOS and Android devices, including smartphones, a smartwatch, wireless earbuds, a tablet, and any other MFi, USB-A, USB-C, or Lightning enabled device.

“At PITAKA, our focus is to bring harmony to the technical universe,” said James Cheng, founder of PITAKA. “Our aim is to transform daily life with innovative, high quality products that can simplify the technology that surrounds us.

“By combining inventive designs with the finest materials, infused with the philosophy of a seamless experience, we have crafted an interconnected product line to make life easier, more convenient, and aesthetically pleasing, creating a lifestyle within the technology universe.”

PITAKA, known for bringing high tech materials to the consumer technology space, spent years developing its MagEZ series, a magnetic ecosystem, which provides a seamless carrying, organizational, and wireless charging experience for home, office, and auto.

Today, the MagEZ series is well built out with phone cases; MagEZ Case and MagEZ Case Pro, chargers and desktop organizers; MagEZ Juice, MagEZ Mount Qi Desktop, MagEZ Mount Qi, MagEZ Bar, and magnetic wallets; MagEZ Wallet and MagEZ Wallet UE.

Building on PITAKA’s philosophy of convenience and wireless connectivity, the company recently launched the Air Series, consisting of Air Case, a paper-thin 0.6 mm thick case for iPhone 11, AirPal Mini, wireless charging cases for AirPods, and Air Essential, Air Quad, and Air Tray, wireless chargers and desktop organizers, expanded today with the launch of Air Omni.

At the core of PITAKA’s style and technology for both its MagEZ and Air Series is Aramid Fiber, a class of synthetic lightweight fiber with exceptional strength and durability. It has a look similar to carbon fiber, but a chemical makeup in the same family as Kevlar, the material used in bulletproof vests, which is less brittle and offers a greater degree of protection.

With Aramid as a primary construction material, PITAKA is able to make the thinnest phone cases on the market – as thin as a piece of paper – offering all of the protection, without the bulk, and a consistent style and feel across all of its products.

Younger Consumers Ready for C-Store Cannabis and Automation

Convenience Store Industry Report Market Research

TrendSource’s 2019 Convenience Store Industry Report

TrendSource’s VP of Business Development Sarah Rowlett noted, “As convenience stores enter the next decade market research will become increasingly important to ensure new initiatives are properly implemented in order to stay ahead in a very competitive landscape.”

Convenience stores are in a transitional moment and must focus on younger consumers when considering the most important issues of the day. Indeed, according to TrendSource’s end-of-year 2019 Convenience Store Industry Report, two of the biggest trends shaping Convenience Stores’ current and future landscape–in-store cannabis sales and frictionless checkout technology–will both pivot around generational differences as older consumers prove relatively more resistant than younger ones. TrendSource’s VP of Business Development Sarah Rowlett noted, “As convenience stores enter the next decade market research will become increasingly important to ensure new initiatives are properly implemented in order to stay ahead in a very competitive landscape.”

One particularly salient issue facing c-stores relates to cannabis products. Though laws have yet to entirely coalesce, savvy operators should already be preparing for a world in which cannabis-derived products, particularly CBD products, will appear on C-store sales floors. And while it might be tempting to assume that such products may alienate current consumers, our report suggests that even non cannabis users are comfortable shopping in a convenience store with such products.

In fact, the only resistance c-store cannabis products seems to come from the silent generation where opposition to cannabis remains firm, but in every younger generation from boomers all the way to the youngest respondents there is comfort if not enthusiasm. Operators should remember this as this issue becomes more and more pressing in the years to come.

Issues surrounding in-store automation similarly break along generational lines with younger consumers proving far more interested in and comfortable with frictionless checkout and other technological innovations. Older consumers, particularly in the silent generation, expressed concern about automation obviating in-store employees–they are uncomfortable with machines taking jobs away from people. While millennials similarly expressed concern about this potential, the majority proved willing to overlook this so long as automation makes their in-store experience more convenient.

While there may be some resistance to implementing technologies to streamline the checkout process, this resistance will likely prove short-lived. As these technologies become table stakes thanks to Amazon Go, c-store operators should begin considering the most efficient and effective ways to begin going frictionless.

Beyond these trends, the full report offers in-depth explorations of several other pertinent topics including consumer’s desire (or lack thereof) for fresh and prepared foods, their feelings about safety and comfort within c-stores, and the coming challenge of omnichannel grocery delivery. As consumers begin to see rapid grocery store delivery and click & collect operations as direct competitors to convenience stores, what can operators to build out their own omnichannel operations while also developing unique in-store experiences that grocery competitors cannot deliver. Find out the answers to these and many other questions by downloading the full report.

Sarson Funds’ Second Bold Bitcoin Prediction Predicated on Rising Geo-Political Instability and Increased Regulatory Clarity

News Image

Considering the rising tensions in the Middle East and improved regulatory clarity for large investors in the West I want to go on record predicting that Bitcoin will never trade below $7,000 again. – John Sarson

John Sarson, the Managing Partner of Sarson Funds, went on record with his 2020 Bitcoin prediction in a Tweet over the weekend. According to Sarson, as international political uncertainty casts ominous clouds over an otherwise positive economic narrative, one thing is certain about the state of digital assets – you will not see Bitcoin under $7,000 USD again.

In a memo to investors last Friday, Sarson noted that the combination of improved regulatory clarity at home and political instability abroad are creating a supportive environment for the world’s largest digital asset. “We [now] have so much more clarity into the trajectory of institutional crypto adoption with firms like JP Morgan issuing their own digital currencies and Fidelity offering Bitcoin custody and trading,” Sarson said.

Looking ahead to 2020, one significant sign of encouragement, according to Sarson Funds, is developments on Capitol Hill, particularly the proposed Crypto-Currency Act of 2020, a draft House bill sponsored by Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ), which Sarson claims has broad support among financial firms looking to keep pace with Asian and European rivals.

Sarson Funds Chief Marketing Officer, Jahon Jamali cites US digital asset leadership as “of vital national strategic interest.”

Jamali cautioned that beyond escalating tensions in the Middle East, it is China’s national blockchain technology initiatives that most directly threaten America’s global financial leadership saying, “Washington needs to step up and lead – the US must not lose the Blockchain Wars.” Comments that gain urgency and validity when considered with respect to Jamali’s background as former US intelligence officer.

This is not the first time Sarson Funds came out with bold New Year guidance for cryptocurrency investors. One year ago, while Bitcoin’s price hovered around $3600, Sarson publicly went on record with a press release stating that the price bottom was in for Bitcoin and that 2019 would herald renewed investor interest and growth for the digital currency.

Fast forward a year, and Bitcoin is up nearly 100%. During that time the Indianapolis and Boston based-firm focused on its core mission: educating Wall Street about blockchain technology and cryptocurrency investment strategies. From a nationwide speaking tour, presenting to investor groups and CFA Societies connecting thousands of financial advisors with transparent cryptocurrency educational resources, Sarson Funds believes increased regulatory advances will yield even further accelerated growth for digital assets in the new decade. Time will tell if Sarson’s predictions hold true again, with Bitcoin’s price trading just 3% above Sarson’s $7000 floor at the time of the announcement we may have our answer fairly quickly.

Commsignia Introduces New Dual-Radio Roadside Unit

Commsignia logo

We experienced the dilemma that our clients are facing when they are planning to introduce V2X-based solutions, and how they are challenged on which technology to choose. We wanted to help take the burden of this decision off our clients’ chest, so they can focus on all the benefits of V2X.

Commsignia, a market leader in V2X technology, today announced the introduction of the first Roadside Unit (RSU) capable of operating on both C-V2X and dedicated short-range communication (DSRC) radios. As both technolgies are being considered for vehicle and infrastructure communication, providers are challenged with deciding which technology to utilize when deploying a future-proof infrastructure solution.

Commsignia’s RSU helps to address this, serving as an industry-first solution to ease the challange that providers or integrators are facing when deciding on which technology to deploy. The RSU connects DSRC and C-V2X communication technologies, expanding remote perception of connected and non-connected road objects. Therefore a more detailed coverage of the road environment can be achieved, as the Dual Active RSU can integrate perceptions coming from both the C-V2X or the DSRC-based network, and feed it to all V2X-capable vehicles. It also represents a prudent approach to which infrastructure to deploy as automakers are finalizing their plans for connected car.

„We experienced the dilemma that our clients are facing when they are planning to introduce V2X-based solutions, and how they are challenged on which technology to choose. We wanted to help take the burden of this decision off our clients’ chest, so they can focus on all the benefits of V2X with full confidence, and effectively introduce solutions making transportation safer and more sustainable” – said József Kovács, CEO of Commsignia. „We believe this innovation will speed up V2X deployments, making investments safe and futureproof.”

The Dual-Active RSU utilizes the Qualcomm(r) 9150 C-V2X platform solution from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated.

“We’re driven to work with innovative companies like Commsignia to engineer connected transportation products built upon Qualcomm Technologies’ C-V2X technology that enhance roadside safety” said Jim Misener, senior director, product management, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. “We look forward to seeing our Qualcomm 9150 C-V2X platform and Commsignia’s new RSU product empowers automakers to immediately realize the promise of connected transportation to deliver advanced safety features on a shorter timeline.”

About Commsignia:

Commsignia is the market’s most dynamic V2X company thanks to its cutting-edge technology and market ready portfolio. Commsignia specializes in Connected Car / V2X “Safer on the Road” software and hardware products compatible with IEEE 802.11p standards and DSRC and future Cellular V2X (C-V2X) / 5G technologies. Commsignia is helping to build the next generation autonomous car and smart mobility ecosystem that will make driving safer whilst reducing congestion and lowering emissions. Commsignia supplies best-in-class V2X (Car2X) Communication Software, hybrid V2X /ADAS Applications with robust PKI and SCMS security, a V2X SDK as well as OnBoard (OBU) and Roadside Units (RSU) for connected car and Smart City deployments.

iBUYPOWER Announces the Expansion of its Signature Element Cases

iBUYPOWER Element Dual

iBUYPOWER, a leading manufacturer of custom gaming PCs, today announced the expansion of its signature Element case line. The Element CL will be designed for easy integration of hardline custom cooling curated for pre-built systems while the Element Dual will provide users with ample thermal support and a clean internal layout for both pre-built systems and DIY enthusiasts.

Element Dual

For a different take on the traditional PC layout, the iBUYPOWER Element Dual features a binary chamber design. With the PSU mounted vertically on the bottom right side of the case and hidden behind the motherboard tray, users will be left with an open aesthetic on the left side and substantial space for maximum component compatibility; including: E-ATX and ATX motherboards, up to 400mm GPUs and 155mm CPU air coolers.

Mounting rails on the Element Dual provide support for the three included 120mm addressable RGB (ARGB) fans on the side and one included 120mm ARGB fan at the rear. Three additional 120mm fans can be added to the bottom and top of the case, as well, for flexible airflow paths. The open space of the Element Dual makes it possible to mount up to a 360mm radiator on the bottom of the case, 240mm on the side and a 120mm on the rear for optimal thermal support to keep systems running cool.

Constructed with a black, full-steel frame and paneling and a tempered glass front and side panel, the Element Dual will feature a solid premium build with a clear view of the internal system components. Dust filters cover the four air intake zones of the Element Dual located on the top, bottom and two areas on the right-side panel of the case to aid in thermal performance and reduce debris buildup. Users will have no shortage of connectivity with one USB 3.1 Type-C port, two USB 3.0 Type-A ports and one audio jack on the I/O.

Element CL

Designed with an integrated front panel distribution plate for easier bends and less complicated routing, the iBUYPOWER Element CL will bring the beauty and efficiency of hardline liquid cooling to customers looking to purchase a pre-built iBUYPOWER PC. Systems housed in the Element CL will also come equipped with custom water blocks for the CPU and GPU as well as custom fittings that will minimize the risk of tubes coming loose.

The Element CL offers a sleek and minimalistic exterior aesthetic. While the Element CL will be available in a black finish, iBUYPOWER will also produce a white Snowblind version of this case. The Snowblind CL will have all the features of the Element CL, including the front panel distribution plate, with the addition of the signature transparent 1280 x 1024 19” TN LCD side panel.

Systems built in the Element and Snowblind CL will come rigged with a side mounted 360mm radiator, three 120mm RGB fans mounted to the radiator and one 120mm fan mounted to the rear of the case for exhaust. Two ventilation areas located on the top panel and directly behind the radiator mount allow for air intake and exhaust to provide additional thermal support to the Element and Snowblind CL. For easy connectivity the I/O of both the Element and Snowblind CL are located on the top of the case with two USB 3.0 Type-A ports and one audio jack.
