TurnKey Internet Launches New High Performance 10G Cloud & Dedicated Servers

We engineered this next-generation platform to continue our vision of giving our customers access to the fastest and best cloud solutions that deliver unmatched performance and value.

Leading Data Center and Cloud Hosting Solutions provider TurnKey Internet announced today the launch of their all-new 10G enterprise-class Cloud and Dedicated Servers. The newly launched 10G servers were built from the ground up with ultra-performance at the core, targeting business and enterprise users.

TurnKey Internet’s 10Gbps Dedicated Servers are built on top of a next-generation architecture with purpose driven hardware, providing the new servers with significantly faster performance. The servers are connected to TurnKey’s recently upgraded multiple 100G Juniper edge network infrastructure and core network switching components by Cisco, allowing each dedicated server to utilize 10 Gigabit dedicated network speeds (10Gbps up x 10Gbps down), which is up to 10,000x faster than DSL, and 1000x faster than typical cable broadband services.

Along with the new 10G Dedicated Servers, TurnKey also launched their all-new Pro Series Cloud Servers. Built upon the same next generation 100G platform as TurnKey’s dedicated servers, the new cloud servers feature a combination of 10 Gigabit dedicated bandwidth and local SSD storage arrays with redundant data recovery technology that ultimately provides over 600,000 DISK IOPS – input/output operations per second. These storage systems coupled with the latest Intel Xeon processor technology, offers the fastest, highest-performing Cloud Server platform on the market today.

TurnKey’s Pro Series Cloud Servers produced 500% higher benchmark scores on disk access compared to IBM’s Softlayer Cloud and a 235% performance increase over Amazon AWS Cloud for CPU and Memory performance. A 115% value benefit over Microsoft Azure cloud was shown in a comparison of cost per resource.

Cloud Servers on TurnKey Internet’s next-generation platform are available via the company’s New York and California data centers, offering geographic redundancy. Clients can easily deploy and manage their Cloud infrastructure across multiple geographic zones. This provides a better user experience by providing redundancy and performance increases through delivery of applications closer to the end-user.

Over 50 instant-ready operating system selections, including popular versions of Microsoft Windows Server and Linux, provide an open-access approach to the Cloud that lets users of the platform install and manage any application or data they want, while having complete access. The open-access approach allows total data portability, so clients can take their data and cloud servers with them, should they ever expand or change platforms, without being closed into a single vendor or technology.

“Based on feedback from our clients and surveys regarding public clouds – we engineered this next-generation platform to continue our vision of giving our customers access to the fastest and best cloud solutions that deliver unmatched performance and value,” said Adam Wills, CEO of TurnKey Internet. He continued “Online sales conversion rates increase 74% when web page load times drop from 8 to 2 seconds, 40% of Mobile App and web site visitors will abandon you if it takes more than 3 seconds to load – speed matters. Our 10G Cloud platform is an essential foundation for serious web masters, developers, and businesses.”

3 Legged Thing Introduces Zayla – the dedicated L-Bracket System for Nikon Z 50 Camera

3 Legged Thing Zayla & Zayla PD L-brackets

3 Legged Thing Zayla & Zayla PD L-brackets for Nikon Z 50 camera.

If you own or are considering a Nikon Z 50, Zayla would make an excellent addition to your system.

Continuing their collaborative association with Nikon, 3 Legged Thing are excited to announce Zayla and Zayla PD, two brand new dedicated L-brackets. They have been designed to precisely fit the contours of Nikon’s new Z 50 camera.

Zayla has a standard Arca Swiss plate profile, making it compatible with a broad range of supports. Zayla PD features a footing on the horizontal aspect which enables it to slot into Peak Design® V3 Capture clips in 4 directions, and also fits Arca Swiss clamps on both horizontal and vertical aspects.

3 Legged Thing Founder and CEO, Danny Lenihan commented: “When Nikon first announced the Z 50, we were excited about the prospect of again working in collaboration with one of the world’s most recognised brand names, to create an L-Bracket dedicated to the camera. It’s a huge honour for us to be given the opportunity to work on the Z 50, and create this essential accessory before the product was even launched, and is testament to the incredible impact of our Zelda Bracket for the Z 6 and Z 7.”

Precision milled from a single block of aircraft-grade magnesium alloy, Zayla and Zayla PD fit the Z 50 body perfectly, giving full access to the battery door, memory card slot, and side ports with the bracket in place.

Both L-brackets attach to the camera using a ¼”-20 stainless steel Stagsden camera screw. The L-brackets feature locator tabs which fit snugly around the base of the camera to prevent any twisting once the camera is secured to the bracket. For additional security when attached to a tripod, both brackets have security screws.

The vertical aspect of both Zayla system L-brackets include two ¼”-20 female threads which enable the attachment of screw-in straps, or accessory arms. This will prove particularly useful for film makers or vloggers who may wish to add an external microphone, light, or video monitor to their setup.

There are also ¼”-20 screw mounts in the base of both Zayla and Zayla PD which can be used for the attachment of screw-in straps. For users of traditional strap systems, the L-brackets feature a strap slot on one end of the base and give clear access to the camera strap lugs on both sides.

Commenting on the collaboration Nikon UK Marketing Director, Jeremy Gilbert, writes: “Zayla is a great addition to the range of dedicated L brackets made specifically to fit Nikon Cameras. As always 3 Legged Thing have taken great pride in their work and the attention to detail in both the product and packaging is testimony to this. If you own or are considering a Nikon Z 50, Zayla would make an excellent addition to your system.”

Zayla and Zayla PD will be available in two colourways – Copper (orange) or Metallic Slate (grey).

ZAYLA is available immediately via all good camera retailers, or direct from 3 Legged Thing’s website. ZAYLA PD can be pre-ordered now and will be available later in March 2020.

Suggested retail prices are £79.99 / US $89.99 for ZAYLA, and £89.99 / US $99.99 for ZAYLA PD.

Ethical and Trustworthy AI Tech Deployed by WorldWatch Plus and Veloxiti AI Works

image of Synapse Summit announcement for WorldWatch Plus and Veloxity AI Works

WorldWatch Plus and Veloxiti AI Works CEOs

“We are very excited to see how WorldWatch Plus is using our technology to help clients. Because queries about people or organizations typically return multiple ‘hits’ … this approach allows us to further screen out sources not relevant to a query.” – Larry Lafferty, CEO Veloxiti AI Works

WorldWatch Plus, a leader in global risk and identity screening solutions, and Veloxiti AI Works, a leader in cognitive AI software, today announced a strategic partnership to further develop AI applications for KYC risk management and background screening. Part of the growing Atlanta tech community, the companies have collaborated for three years developing artificial intelligence in the WorldWatch Plus KYC & Risk Screening platform.

The WorldWatch Plus platform is an award-winning solution for KYC Risk and KYC Identity solutions for pre-employment, financial, and commercial due-diligence risk screening. Veloxiti, a leader in AI development for U.S. Department of Defense applications, made WorldWatch Plus one of its first commercial application partnerships.

First public appearance

CEOs Chuck Papageorgiou from WorldWatch Plus and Larry Lafferty from Veloxiti will discuss the practical implications of ethical and trustworthy uses for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Intelligence Augmentation (IA) at the Synapse Summit, February 11-12 in Tampa, Florida.

They will discuss how WorldWatch Plus incorporated the Veloxiti AI engine with its machine learning, natural language processing, and heuristic engines to create AIVAa – the artificial intelligence virtual adjudication agent. AIVAa replaces manual human analysis of unstructured information like media articles and enforcement actions.

“Technology matters,” said Papageorgiou. “It enables us to deploy innovative solutions that help our clients work faster and smarter and maintain compliance with regulations and risk management policies. Our clients can operate 75% faster than with legacy solutions using outdated tech, and that is only the beginning of our journey with Veloxiti’s military-grade AI tech.”

Technology driving business success

WorldWatch Plus delivers global risk information about individuals and businesses that eliminates the noise and false positives the hinder other solutions in the marketplace.

“We are very excited to see how WorldWatch Plus is using our technology to help clients,” said Lafferty. “Because queries about people or organizations typically return multiple ‘hits’ we use a graph knowledge base and advanced decision processing algorithms to apply a set of heuristics to resolve identities. This approach allows us to further screen out sources not relevant to a query.”

The Synapse Summit is an annual gathering of entrepreneurs and innovators, corporations, service providers and government officials at Amalie Arena in Tampa. Synapse Florida runs innovation challenges, professional networks, and special events like the Summit to foster the growing technology and innovation communities in Florida.

FDA Grants Breakthrough Device Designation to nQ Medical for Parkinson’s Disease Management Platform

News Image

The breakthrough device designation reaffirms that the nQ’s brain monitoring solution enables better treatment of patients by providing more precise and timely feedback to clinicians

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted “Breakthrough Device” designation to nQ Medical for its neuroQWERTY brain health monitoring solution. The designation is granted for “The neuroQWERTY software as a medical device platform intended to characterize abnormalities in psychomotor performance and fine motor function by analyzing mechanical keyboard and touchscreen device interactions in adults with, or suspected of having, Parkinson’s Disease (PD).” The approved use is for 24/7 remote patient monitoring of disease progression and measurement of the impact of therapy in PD patients to more effectively treat symptoms of the disease, a challenge for movement disorder specialists today as they routinely only see one to two times a year.

PD is a debilitating chronic condition that affects millions of lives globally. Although disease modifying therapies for PD are still in drug discovery phases, early detection, continuous disease progression management, and proper measurement of the effects of treatment can provide significant opportunity for better patient outcomes. “The breakthrough device designation reaffirms that the nQ’s brain monitoring solution enables better treatment of patients by providing more precise and timely feedback to clinicians,” said Rahul Mahajan, MD, chief medical officer of nQ Medical, “The FDA’s recognition of enabling novel and effective digital therapies that demonstrate clinical evidence benefits helps the thousands of sufferers of Parkinson’s disease.”

There is rich information hidden in the way our fingers interact with smart devices that allows for cognitive and motor impairment tracking and early detection of neurodegenerative disease onset. nQ’s computational biomarker is characterized as software as a medical device (SaMD) and measures brain-finger connection activity via keystroke and touchscreen dynamics. It is the result of 5 clinical trials in six years and 5 peer-review clinical publications and promises to be an effective indicator of neuromotor and neurocognitive brain condition. Clinical data has demonstrated that nQ may be effective for diseases such as sleep inertia, substance inebriation, Alzheimer’s disease, and Parkinson’s disease. Further clinical trials are underway in mild cognitive impairment (MCI), Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Multiple Sclerosis (MS), and Concussion (mTBI).

“Everyone has a unique typing and touchscreen signature. Research has revealed that the way we interact with computers and mobile devices can reveal with startling accuracy the presence of certain neuromotor, neurocognitive, and neurobehavioral disorders,” commented R. A. Bavasso, Co-Founder and CEO of nQ Medical. The nQ platform was developed in conjunction with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and funded, in part, by the Michael J. Fox Foundation to deliver a validated artificial intelligence tool to open a broad opportunity to better diagnose disease(s), use real-world evidence to monitor disease progression, and track therapeutic intervention effectiveness.

Machine learning algorithms detect subtle psychomotor impairment typical of these diseases by analyzing the timing of keystrokes and device pressure. Consistent with HIPAA, no information on what is typed/touched is captured, only “how” it is typed/touched. No investment in a proprietary device or no unnatural tasks are required. “Just live your life as you normally do with your chosen personal device and we can collect and feed back to you and your physician the status of your brain health,” added Bavasso. The AI tool provides unified data management across the entire clinical lifecycle, from clinical trials to physician dashboards, from patient engagement to population health allowing for a completely integrated experience. The machine learning approach provides a complete perspective from individual baseline data.

nQ may aid in the diagnosis of neurodegenerative disease earlier than current gold standard tools. (Read the Clinical Studies). Physicians can now prescribe Rx with confidence, having unparalleled access to 24/7 real-time data from patient’s personal devices. With earlier diagnosis, granular tracking of disease progression, and ongoing measurement of therapeutic impact, nQ reveals insights to help the clinician “see” what is happening with their patients in real time.

About the FDA Breakthrough Devices Program

The FDA Breakthrough Devices Program is a voluntary program for medical devices and device-led combination products that provide for more effective treatment or diagnosis of life-threatening or irreversibly debilitating diseases or conditions. To learn more, visit the FDA page here.

About Parkinson’s disease

More than 10 million people worldwide are living with PD. Approximately 60,000 Americans are diagnosed with PD each year. The combined direct and indirect cost of PD, including treatment, social security payments and lost income, is estimated to be nearly $25 billion per year in the United States alone. Nuvation Energy’s high-voltage battery management system is the first to obtain UL 1973 Recognition and functional safety certification for use with various battery chemistries, and battery systems with different safety profile.

INTERSOLAR, Feb 6, 2020. Nuvation Energy has announced that their configurable high-voltage battery management system (BMS) has obtained UL Recognition for use in UL 1973 Certifiable Battery Stacks and UL 9540 Certifiable Stationary Energy Storage Systems.

The first configurable BMS to obtain this stringent recognition, which includes the UL Functional Safety Mark, Nuvation Energy High-Voltage BMS includes settings that are locked down to the target battery’s safety profile, as well as a field-configurable software layer for energy storage system integration and performance optimization.

“Nuvation Energy’s high-voltage battery management system is the first to obtain UL 1973 Recognition and functional safety certification for use with various battery chemistries, and battery systems with different safety profiles,” said Francisco Martinez, Business Development Director, Energy Systems and eMobility, at Underwriters Laboratories. “One of the key components of UL 1973 battery system certification is the functional safety analysis and testing of the BMS hardware and software. With a UL 1973 Recognized BMS like Nuvation’s, this functional safety work has already been done, which may significantly reduce both the technical risk and the monetary cost of certification,” said Martinez.

“Before this achievement in configurable battery management system design, energy storage system developers have been limited in the choices of batteries they could select for their UL 1973 certifiable platforms, said Michael Worry, CEO of Nuvation Energy. “The availability of a UL Recognized BMS to support those batteries has been a significant decision-making factor. And, if a developer wanted to offer a range of energy storage solutions that used different batteries for different applications, they were faced with the complexity of working with different battery management systems. With the UL 1973 Recognition of Nuvation Energy’s configurable high-voltage BMS, developers can now choose batteries based solely on performance, availability, and suitability for their target application. They can also reduce the design complexity of their energy storage system product lines by integrating a single BMS platform across all their products,” said Worry.
