Point-of-Sale Supply Company Partners with Global Provider of Payment Terminals to Create an App that Makes Ordering Receipt Paper Easier

PAX Technology provides innovative sales-oriented business solutions…

POS Supply Solutions, a leading provider of Point of Sale (POS) supplies, has partnered with PAX Technology to create a first-of-its-kind app that allows merchants to order receipt paper right through their POS terminals.

Users of PAX POS devices have easy access to additional tools to help them run their business within the PAXSTORE. Launched in 2017, PAXSTORE is an ecosystem that connects app providers, terminal managers, payment service providers, and merchants through its innovative open development platform where partners and developers can create marketplace apps for use on PAX devices.

POS Supply Solutions, which offers the largest selection of POS receipt paper and supplies to restaurants, retail stores, hotels, gas stations and many other businesses, saw a need to make their products more easily accessible and found the PAXSTORE to be the perfect way to reach more customers.

“We saw an opportunity to make it easier for our customers to order supplies for their PAX terminals,” says Stephen Enfield, CEO and founder of POS Supply Solutions. “Our goal has always been to make receipt paper and other POS supply buying as simple as possible. Now, customers don’t even need to use a computer—our products are literally available at their fingertips.”

The app can be found by searching “POS Supply Solutions” or “Buy POS paper” in the PAXSTORE on any PAX SmartPOS device. Once downloaded, customers can select their terminal and will be automatically presented with the paper roll products that fit their machine. There is also an “Easy Re-Order” feature which stores previous purchases, so users never have to worry about ordering the wrong size receipt paper again.

There have been hundreds of downloads of the app since launching in June 2019. One of the first customers, a retailer in Texas, was pleased to place their order in three clicks, and then receive their paper only two days later.

“PAX Technology provides innovative sales-oriented business solutions,” says Heather Hatch, VP of Business Development at PAX Technology. “They aren’t just for the Point of Sale—they’re also capable of running non-payment application features like ordering paper and so much more to support SMBs. The POS Supply app fits in perfectly with that mission. We look forward to continuing to innovate and make it easier for SMBs to succeed with the addition of this application.”

MOBI Hosts 9th Colloquium on the New Economy of Movement

MOBI tirelessly brought together major US/Japanese car OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, united in a common goal, to solve seemingly intractable problems from traffic congestion to securely sharing vehicle telematics, using the power of blockchain technology – in less than 2 years of existence!

Attendees of The Mobility Open Blockchain Initiative [MOBI] on May 19th-20, 2020 in Los Angeles, CA will have access to two days of specialized speaker sessions from key industry players in the mobility and blockchain sector, emerging technology demonstrations, and networking opportunities. The event’s topics will focus on “The New Economy of Movement”, enabled by the convergence of connected vehicles, smart cities, decentralized finance, and other rapidly emerging technologies. Together, these technologies give cities the ability to manage and maintain infrastructure on distributed ledgers, charge for road use, congestion, carbon emissions, and solve many of the most intractable urban mobility challenges. In this ecosystem vehicles have a digital twin, are able to communicate with other vehicles, and can pay for infrastructure as they move. Users are rewarded for greener transportation methods through their vehicle wallets.

“One day people are going to wake up and realize that there are better ways to get around, ways that are simpler, cheaper, more sustainable, appealing, and more fun than the ones they chose yesterday,” said Tram Vo, MOBI Founder and COO. “If existing mobility companies don’t create the standards, payments, and platform for this new mobility, others will quickly fill the void, and today’s mobility leaders will have permanently forfeited their natural competitive advantage.“

MoCo Los Angeles 2019 laid the groundwork for assessing the value potential of blockchain and the role of a cross-industry and public participation to develop standards for future mobility ecosystems. The 2019 speaker roster was stacked with the world’s largest OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, technology companies, consulting firms, academic institutions, and innovative thinkers. MOBI’s partner OEMs – BMW, Daimler, Denso, Ford, GM, Honda, Toyota, and others – discussed the importance of testing use cases for a blockchain-based Vehicle Identity, a Connected Data Marketplace, and Electric Vehicle Grid Integration. Daimler, ZF, and Filament shared insight on their research on car wallets. And MOBI offered a first-look into the Citopia application for smart-city infrastructure in the exhibition hall. Other specialized industry sessions were led by speakers from the Tapscott Group, Tendermint Labs, SilaMoney, Amazon Web, the City of Los Angeles, Toyota AI Ventures; and many more. MoCo Los Angeles 2020 will provide an equally diverse set of innovative minds.

“MOBI tirelessly brought together major US/Japanese car OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, united in a common goal, to solve seemingly intractable problems from traffic congestion to securely sharing vehicle telematics, using the power of blockchain technology – and they did all this in less than 2 years of existence!” Sumita Jonak, Blockchain and Innovation Researcher, University of Texas/National Security Agency

MoCo Los Angeles 2020 will also offer exclusive looks into MOBI’s recently launched working groups. The Supply Chain working group, chaired by OEMs, BMW and Ford, is focused on researching the potential of blockchain technology across automotive supply chains. The Finance, Securitization, and Smart Contracts working group, chaired by the global law firm, Orrick Herrington LLC and RouteOne, was created to assess the potential value proposition of blockchain, work on standards, and potentially, help coordinate logistics necessary to carry out a pilot program for use cases in finance and securitization.

MoCo Los Angeles 2020 aims to foster collaboration between the public and private sector to leverage emerging technology – AI, IoT, and blockchain – for the future of mobility. As OEMs, private businesses, and cities are pushing to innovate, MoCo Los Angeles 2020 provides an environment in which forward-thinking companies can exhibit their research and technology, network with other industry players, share their vision, and spark important dialogue.

MoCo Los Angeles 2020 is currently open for sponsorship. For press, exhibition, and sponsorship inquiries, please email communication@dlt.mobi.

ZPower Announces Partnership with American Equus

When devices are designed to be worn, small size and safety are critical

ZPower, the world’s only developer of rechargeable silver-zinc microbatteries, announced a partnership today with American Equus. American Equus, a company known for its innovation of every day equestrian products, chose ZPower batteries for a forthcoming line of smart devices that are planned to launch later this year.

When devices are designed to be worn and come in direct contact with horses and the barn environment, small size and safety are critical. ZPower silver-zinc microbatteries offer the highest energy density for their size, while their water-based chemistry offers zero danger of thermal runaway and their low voltage reduces the risks from ingestion.

“We chose ZPower batteries for their unparalleled performance and because, unlike li-ion batteries, they are non-flammable, and safer if ingested,” said David Shano, founder and CEO of American Equus. “Our new devices will revolutionize the well-being of horse and rider, so safety was a top priority when we evaluated potential power sources.”

“Our batteries are uniquely suited for applications that are worn; ZPower is certified to manufacture medical devices and our batteries are currently used in medical wearables,” said Glynne Townsend, President and CEO of ZPower. “We are proud that American Equus chose our battery technology for its new range of devices, and we look forward to supporting American Equus through its product development and market launch.”

Nautilus Labs and Danelec Marine Announce Data & IoT Integration for Predictive Decision Support

Nautilus Labs

Nautilus Labs

“We believe ‘interoperability’ will be the defining term of this decade—and that applies to organizations, as much as it does technology.”

Nautilus Labs, the technology firm advancing the efficiency of ocean commerce through artificial intelligence, and Danelec Marine, the leading maritime data transmission service and navigation systems manufacturer—today announced a new data and IoT integration for predictive analytics and decision support.

“The underlying, raw material of every decision made at sea is data,” said Leigh Jaffe, who leads partnerships at Nautilus. “But that data is only valuable when it’s freed from system silos, reliably delivered back to shore, and transformed into actionable information for teams. We believe ‘interoperability’ will be the defining term of this decade—and that applies to organizations, as much as it does technology. And in this era of open ecosystems, we’re extremely excited to join forces with forward thinking, service-oriented OEMs like Danelec—for the benefit of their clients and ours.”

Denmark-based Danelec has more than 20 years of experience with maritime data technology. The company operates globally through an extensive network of authorized service partners with 600+ certified service technicians who have installed over 6,000 proprietary systems on vessels worldwide.

One of the main barriers for widespread adoption of IoT in the maritime industry includes the complexity and high cost of implementation. Danelec Marine addresses this challenge with their “ship-2-shore” cloud-based data solution, DanelecConnect, along with their small electronic remote server (VRS) that connects with the ship’s Voyage Data Recorder (VDR) and a vast array of analog, digital or serial sensors throughout the vessel.

With Nautilus Platform, DanelecConnect commercial and technical clients will be able to directly access a user-friendly, actionable UI for historical, real-time, and predictive vessel data and analytics.

Expanding on this announcement, Casper Jensen, Danelec’s Chief Operating Officer, noted, “With our simple and reliable ship data collection and processing along with the cost reduction of ship-to-shore communications, many more ships can—and will—be IoT-enabled within the next few years. Fleet optimization is no longer just an option in today’s very competitive shipping industry; it’s the only way for ship operators to manage their vessels and succeed. We’re delighted to work with Nautilus Labs in transforming the maritime industry, together.”

DanelecConnect users can request Nautilus Platform via https://nautiluslabs.co/demo.

ABOUT DANELEC MARINE

Headquartered in Denmark, Danelec Marine is a leading supplier of Voyage Data Recorders (VDRs), ship-to-shore data communication systems and Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS). Danelec Marine was one of the first companies to bring to market VDRs and Simplified VDRs (S-VDRs) to meet the original IMO carriage requirements. More than 6,000 vessels today are equipped with a VDR or S-VDR designed and manufactured by Danelec Marine. The company has service facilities with factory-trained personnel in more than 50 countries and Certified Service Centers at strategic locations worldwide. To learn more about the Danelec difference, visit http://www.danelec-marine.com.

ABOUT NAUTILUS

Ocean commerce consumes over $100 billion dollars of fuel every year, nearly a third of which is the result of needless overconsumption. For owner-operators, reliance on manually collected and analyzed data makes it difficult to optimize fleet performance in real time. By providing a unified data platform that leverages machine learning, Nautilus helps clients make better decisions by maximizing the return for every vessel and voyage—and drive closer collaboration, greater transparency, and stronger accountability across their full fleets and shoreside teams, in real time. GaNFast power ICs use gallium nitride (GaN), a new semiconductor material which can operate up to 100x faster than earlier silicon (Si) power chips, so take only 45 minutes to charge the Mi 10 PRO from 0 to 100%.

“GaN (gallium nitride), as a new semiconductor material has brought unimaginable effects to the charger,” said Mr. Jun LEI, continuing, “It enables the charger to become extremely small and the charging efficiency extremely high. The 65W GaN charger is only half the size of the 65W traditional charger that comes as standard with our Xiaomi 10 PRO.” Mr. Jun LEI encouraged consumers and Mi fans to pay attention to gallium nitride technology and changes in charging technology in the new era.

https://www.ganfast.com/xiaomi-65w-launch/

Xiaomi invested earlier in Navitas Semiconductor to lay the groundwork for this cooperation. Xiaomi’s strategy is to establish upstream and downstream partnerships in the industry chain through capital investment, while taking into account the dual benefits of investment and business. Through this cooperation, Navitas Semiconductor has also been able to broaden its sales channels. This is evidence of Xiaomi’s support for cooperative enterprises, promoting manufacturing upgrades, and driving innovation, culminating in the release of the Xiaomi Mi 10 PRO with GaNFast charging.

Gene SHERIDAN, CEO of Navitas Semiconductor, said, “I am very pleased to see Xiaomi’s open attitude towards new materials and new technologies. From the start, Navitas has focused on the technology application and innovation of GaN materials. GaNFast power ICs are monolithic integration of FET, drive and logic and achieve extremely small application size and high efficiency. For manufacturers who want to lead with technology, GaNFast enables high performance and drives product differentiation!”

Yingjie ZHA, general manager of Navitas Semiconductor China, said, “The battery capacity of smartphones, tablets and laptops increasing, while consumers are eager to have a faster-charging experience. GaNFast technology has the advantages of small size, light weight and high efficiency, which makes it extremely attractive. GaNFast technology brings the industry a small, efficient charger that can quickly charge electronic products such as mobile phones and laptops.”

Xiaomi’s 65W GaN charger uses Navitas’ NV6115 and NV6117 GaNFast power ICs which are optimized for high-frequency, soft-switching topologies. Monolithic integration of FETs, drivers and logic delivers a very small, very fast, easy-to-use “digital-in, power-out” high-performance power conversion module. Using GaNFast, Xiaomi’s 65W GaN charger is only 56.3 x 30.8 x 30.8 mm (53 cc) which is half the size of standard adapters.
