InstallAware setups, being fully light-weight and self-contained, have always run on all Windows versions without any brittle runtime dependencies; this flexibility and independence is now in the service of the decentralized, global blockchain payment system.

InstallAware X12 also empowers globally distributed development, with support for Microsoft Azure DevOps, featuring a brand-new Team Project Explorer; which is of critical import in these times of global uncertainty, and a transition to “work from home” ethos for most corporations worldwide.

InstallAware X12 also beefs up security for payloads it downloads on demand at install time. Referred to as “Web Media Blocks”, these bits are now all securely code signed with Microsoft Authenticode technology. As they are downloaded from decentralized Torrent files/Magnet links (or traditional web servers, corporate networks, or even the FTP protocol), these bits are then verified to have been signed by the original setup author (re-signing by a malicious actor using a different certificate than the one originally used is detected successfully). Where this verification fails, setup automatically moves to the next redundant download source, without even requiring manual intervention by the end-user. This is yet another benefit automatically enjoyed by all InstallAware setups, in addition to its self-contained engine.

4 Simple Steps for Disinfecting Laser Tech, Inc. Products

Laser Tech, Inc. (LTI) laser-based tools are sometimes used by the same person, and often shared among co-workers daily. Now, more than ever, it is important to take time to clean them properly – keeping everyone using these tools safe.

Travis Emsbach, Service Manager at LTI, walks us through the 4 steps LTI uses to disinfect products prior to entering the repair process. You can see the video, here. By following Federal and CDC recommended guidelines, this helps protect our employees involved in the service process. These simple steps are easy for product owners to follow and will clean and disinfect any LTI laser-based tools. A great way to keep your staff safe from potentially harmful germs!

LTI’s Disinfecting and Cleaning Process

Step 1: If the product is in its original case, the case is sprayed and disinfected using Lysol disinfectant spray. (Both soft and hard cases)

Step 2: The product is then removed from its case and wiped down using a cleaning disinfectant wipe. (Lysol, Clorox, CaviWipes). If using a Lysol spray, it is best to spray a microfiber cloth and then wipe down the product with the cloth.

NOTES:

  • Avoid spraying the product directly.
  • The full line of LTI products can safely be wiped down with any over-the-counter disinfectant wipes.


Step 3: Pay attention to grips, keypad/ buttons, and eyepieces. You may wipe down lenses to disinfect, but then clean and dry lenses with a clean cloth or lens tissue.

Step 4: After cleaning the product, wash your hands thoroughly.

  • Following these steps ensure that the product is disinfected prior to entering our repair process.


Once the repair has been completed, the product is wiped down again using these 4 simple steps prior to being repackaged and returned to the customer.

By following these 4 steps at the beginning and end of every work shift with LTI products, users can keep themselves and others safe from the spread of disease and illness.

New Sensor from Balluff Delivers Flexible, Smart Condition Monitoring

Balluff’s new condition monitoring sensor can measure vibration, temperature, relative humidity, and ambient pressure. The feature-rich sensor collects and processes these readings and outputs digital statistical data to a host system via IO-Link.

In addition, the sensor can detect and communicate its condition, continuously reporting its temperature, number of operating hours, and start cycles. By automating cost-intensive manual inspections, it minimizes unscheduled stops and faults in the production process. This condition data is an essential component for implementing smart and flexible manufacturing.

The sensor is available in two versions, both in an extremely small stainless-steel form factor. The first measures contact temperature and vibration in all three axes of motion and has IP67 and IP69K ratings making it especially useful for harsh environments. The other adds the additional environmental variables of relative humidity and ambient pressure and delivers an IP67 rating.

The sensor’s standardized IO-Link protocol allows users to easily parameterize the sensors and match the processing in the sensors to their specific application. The process data structure permits users to configure five measured or preprocessed data types to be cyclically transmitted. It is also possible to perform an acyclical request for additional statistical processing variables.
