Nuvyyo Launches HDMI-Connected TABLO OTA DVR with Remote

[ad_1]

Tablo DUAL HDMI

With demand for cable TV alternatives among all consumer demographics growing dramatically, the time was right to expand our reach into underserved portions of the market.

Nuvyyo, makers of the Tablo OTA DVR for cord cutters, today announced Tablo DUAL HDMI, its first Over-the-Air DVR that connects directly to a television set and includes its own dedicated remote. Designed for cord cutters who prefer a traditional DVR set up, Tablo DUAL HDMI blends the easy-to-use yet powerful DVR interface Tablo fans love with an HDMI-connected set-top-box.

Tablo DUAL HDMI DVR makes it incredibly easy for consumers who have canceled cable to watch and record live, local antenna TV. Compatible with any television featuring an HDMI port, Tablo DUAL HDMI connects to any Over-the-Air TV antenna and supports external USB hard drives from 1TB to 8TB, for up to 1000 hours of HDTV recording storage. With a traditional live TV grid guide and one-touch series recording, Tablo DUAL HDMI provides the OTA DVR features cord cutters want and perfectly complements popular streaming services they already enjoy like Netflix, Prime, Sling, and Philo.

“We’re proud that Tablo has become a trusted brand among cord cutters. With demand for cable TV alternatives among all consumer demographics growing dramatically, the time was right to expand our reach into underserved portions of the market,” said Grant Hall, CEO of Nuvyyo. “That’s why we’re bringing the beautiful interface and advanced DVR features that Tablo customers expect to a more traditional set-top-box solution with the Tablo DUAL HDMI.”

Unlike other HDMI-connected DVRs or converter boxes on the market, Tablo DUAL HDMI can also stream live and recorded TV programs to additional televisions within the home via compatible Tablo apps on Smart TVs and streaming set-top-boxes powered by Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and Android TV. Thanks to this flexibility, cord cutters can take full advantage of the DVR’s dual tuners to stream or record up to two live OTA TV channels at once.

All generations of Tablo OTA DVRs receive free regular firmware and app updates, as well as basic DVR functionality, including:

  • 24 hours of TV Guide Data (traditional grid guide)
  • Manual recording (one-time or recurring)
  • Playback controls including pause, rewind, and fast-forward
  • Support for 5.1 Surround Sound passthrough

Optional Tablo Guide Data Service

All Tablo OTA DVRs include a 30-day free trial of the Tablo TV guide data service, which gives cord cutters total control over DVR scheduling and viewing. Along with episode and series synopses, cover art, and metadata for programs airing over the next two weeks, a Tablo TV Guide Data Service subscription provides powerful, and yet easy-to-use advanced DVR features like:

  • One-touch series recording (ALL or ALL NEW)
  • Advanced recording options (adjustable start/stop times, keep X recordings, record by channel)
  • Automatic extended time on live TV show recordings
  • Automatic avoidance of duplicate recordings
  • And much more

Optional Tablo Automatic Commercial Skip Service

All Tablo OTA DVRs include a 30-day free trial of the optional Tablo Premium Service subscription which enables the Automatic Commercial Skip feature. Automatic Commercial Skip makes it even easier to enjoy most recordings from Tablo OTA DVRs without any commercial interruptions by eliminating the need to manually fast-forward over ads. Unlike other offerings which rely on intensive computing power or humans to identify commercial breaks, Tablo uses a cloud-based hybrid of digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms and machine learning to deliver more accurate results.

Tablo DUAL HDMI Pricing and Availability

Tablo DUAL HDMI is available now exclusively on TabloTV.com and will ship before December 1st with an MSRP of $149.99 US or $197.99 CAD.

Radiant Demonstrates Production Display Test and Correction Solutions at C-TOUCH & DISPLAY SHENZHEN

Visitors to the Radiant and Konica Minolta booth #1C01 will get a firsthand look at the application and impact of in-line test, measurement, and correction for display quality in several live product demonstrations.

Radiant Vision Systems, a leading provider of automated visual inspection solutions for display manufacturing, announces that it will demonstrate in-line measurement and correction solutions for ensuring the quality of displays at C-TOUCH & DISPLAY SHENZHEN, November 19-21. Co-located at booth #1C01, Radiant and sister company Konica Minolta (China) Investment Co, Ltd. will give live demonstrations of Radiant’s high-resolution photometric imaging systems, software, and lenses for evaluating the visual qualities of displays in touchscreen devices, automotive cockpits, and augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) headsets. The booth will also feature special demonstrations of in-line test and correction methods that ensure component quality and production efficiency for new miniLED, microLED, and OLED technologies.

C-TOUCH & DISPLAY SHENZHEN takes place November 19-21 at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center and is one of the largest and most influential exhibitions in the touchscreen and display industry. With nearly 1,000 world-renowned brands participating in a 45,000 square-meter event venue, Radiant and sister company Konica Minolta will be joined by companies from both China and abroad to share and experience the latest display technologies across consumer electronics and other industries.

Visitors to the Radiant and Konica Minolta booth will get a firsthand look at the application and impact of in-line test, measurement, and correction for display quality in several live product demonstrations. Radiant’s ProMetric® Imaging Photometers and Colorimeters will be shown with the company’s TrueTest™ Software platform for automated pass/fail analysis of display brightness, color, uniformity, contrast, mura, and more. Radiant’s highest-resolution imaging photometers will also be demonstrated in special applications of OLED, miniLED, and microLED display testing and correction. In these applications, imaging systems will capture all display pixels in a single measurement image, calculate pixel-level output variations, and determine the appropriate corrections to be made to each pixel to ensure display uniformity. Radiant’s advantages for accurate pixel uniformity correction or “demura” have been widely implemented in the production of emissive displays (including OLED, miniLED, and microLED devices). These methods have contributed to commercialization of new display types by significantly increasing yield and lowering manufacturing cost by directly improving the quality of poorly performing display modules.

Radiant’s automated visual inspection solutions are a leading choice of display manufacturers for providing objective photometric measurement data at the speeds necessary for in-line quality control. These systems leverage the benefits of imaging technology for rapid, single-measurement analysis of displays, including pixel-level measurement. Radiant’s imaging photometers measure precise luminance and chromaticity values across all display subpixels in as little as a second per display, ensuring high throughput. ProMetric imaging systems feature USB and Ethernet communications for easy integration with industrial manufacturing systems. Developed for automated pass/fail qualification, TrueTest Software features a multi-test sequencing platform and an API for custom installations into any unique manufacturing environment.

In addition to production-level display test and correction, Radiant will demonstrate automated inspection solutions for augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) displays viewed through the headset, near-infrared light sources used for facial recognition applications, and backlit keyboards—ensuring quality across display devices and components. From the same booth, Konica Minolta will host demonstrations of Radiant’s photometric imaging and software solutions designed to evaluate automotive displays, including freeform display testing (for non-rectangular display shapes), view angle performance evaluation for in-vehicle displays, and head-up display (HUD) testing.

New V275 Series from Omron improves label compliance and quality monitoring

[ad_1]

The Omron V275 label inspection system includes a high-resolution line scan camera and printer controls built into a Zebra ZT600 Series high-performance thermal printer.

Omron Automation Americas, a global leader in end-to-end automation solutions for manufacturing and other industries, recently launched its V275 Series printer-integrated label inspection and barcode verification system to help manufacturers in life science, food and beverage, automotive and consumer packaged goods industries more efficiently monitor their product and packaging labels. These industries have a strong traceability need to ensure that labels show the right content, are clearly legible, and contain barcodes that meet mandated quality standards.

The V275 is able to grade 1D and 2D barcodes at normal printing speeds to ISO 15415, ISO 15416, and GS1 standards while also inspecting human-readable content for accuracy and print quality using optical character recognition (OCR), optical character verification (OCV) and blemish detection tools. Logic in the V275 software allows for automated inspection of barcode content to expected values and data formats for both the machine-readable and human-readable information on each label. In the event of a label quality error, the system automatically stops the printer and alerts the operator via an output to a light tower.

Since thermal desktop printers are most commonly used for label printing, Omron has built upon the strengths of its popular LVS-7510 printer-integrated label inspection system to offer the most tightly integrated and capable label inspection solution on the market. Porsche Design and AOC Unveil the Porsche Design AOC AGON PD27

[ad_1]

A gaming experience designed to stand any challenge

The exclusive lifestyle brand Porsche Design and AOC, the leader in the gaming monitor market, have come together to introduce the first ever Porsche Design AOC AGON gaming monitor. The 27” (68.58 cm) PD27 provides an experience similar to driving a race car: high octane specifications (27” QHD panel, 240 Hz refresh rate, 0.5 ms MPRT), a sleek, eye-catching, racing-influenced design and a wide range of functionalities to be utilized both on a daily basis and during long gaming sessions. Even before the official launch, the impressive design of this new monitor was honored with the Red Dot Award 2020.

Performance with no compromise on style

Competitive gaming is both accessible and inviting, but the competition itself is fierce. Beginners and pros alike can agree on one key factor; high performance PC equipment is the key to success. Just like a race car driver who anticipates and calculates how to enter the apex of a curve on the track, esports players must react quickly and make decisions in milliseconds. The performance of each piece of equipment is of the utmost importance, and can easily dictate the outcome of a competition. That is why Porsche Design tapped into its motorsports DNA and teamed up with AOC to create a high-performance monitor – specifically for those gamers who are in it to win it.

“With its linear and purist design that blends form and function, the Porsche Design AOC AGON PD27 is a perfect embodiment of the brand’s DNA and overarching design philosophy. Combined with AOC AGON’s innovative and cutting-edge technologies, the new monitor is developed for gamers seeking optimal performance that doesn’t compromise on style,” says Roland Heiler, Chief Design Officer at Porsche Design.

“We are very excited to announce the Porsche Design AOC AGON PD27, which is the first fruit of AOC’s new partnership with Porsche Design. The product is exquisitely crafted to capture the spirit of thrilling, ultra-high performance. It will appeal to serious gamers, or anyone who appreciates the pursuit of perfection,” says David Ray, Marketing Director at Envision Peripherals, Inc.

The monitor’s design is accented by the silver-colored stand element, shaped like the roll cage of a race car. Just as it does in an actual sports car, it provides the user the stability, durability and endurance when adrenaline kicks in. Staying true to Porsche Design’s design philosophy to elegantly blend style and performance, the PD27 can project its logos on the table in different colors, and light up the back of the display to elevate the gaming environment.

Shifting to the next gear

The PD27 is developed for the most ambitious competitive gamers and professional esports enthusiasts around the world. It displays images in QHD resolution (2560×1440) and produces a 240 Hz refresh rate, a perfect combination for demanding players. The PD27 is also certified with VESA’s DisplayHDR 400, providing vivid, lifelike colors and a wide dynamic range that allows users to immerse themselves in the simulated world. Additionally, a very tight curvature of 1000R (1 m radius) surrounds and encapsulates the user, a particularly great feature for the sim-racing community.

The 240 Hz refresh rate reduces the perceivable motion blur, while the 1 ms GtG and 0.5 ms MPRT pixel response times guarantee a clear, ghosting-free gaming experience. With AMD’s FreeSync Premium Pro users experience smooth gameplay, free of tearing. The VA panel’s high brightness of 550 nits ensures undisturbed gameplay at any lighting conditions.

Driving gamer’s success

The PD27 comes with a wireless (IR) keypad, shaped like a center console, to quickly access monitor settings or gaming presets. Users longing for the roar of the flat six-boxer engines in racing games will appreciate the 5W stereo speakers with DTS sound. For everyday functionality, the monitor also comes with a 4-port USB 3.2 hub, 2x HDMI 2.0 and 2x DisplayPort 1.4 inputs.

Availability

The Porsche Design AOC AGON PD27 will be available December 5, 2020 in select Porsche Design stores, online at http://www.porsche-design.com and on Amazon for $799.99 USD.

ProPhotonix introduces 265nm UVC LED Lamp COBRA Clean FX1

[ad_1]

265nm UVC LED System

COBRA Clean FX1 UVC LED Lamp

The work in UVC lamps at ProPhotonix began several years ago out of concepts on the matter of neutralizing pathogens at commercial scale. We are now working with and seeking partners in the collaborative design, development and manufacturing of novel UVC LED based products for market adoption.

ProPhotonix Limited, (London Stock Exchange – AIM: PPIX; OTC: STKR), a designer and manufacturer of LED illumination systems and laser diode modules with operations in Ireland and the United Kingdom, today announces the launch of the COBRA Clean FX1, a 265nm UVC LED based lamp providing a rapid development solution disinfection. UVC is a proven method in the disinfection of water, air, and surfaces which has shown to be effective against pathogens such as E. coli, L. innocua, and COVID-19(1,2).

COBRA Clean FX1 is a patent protected, compact, fan-cooled UVC LED lamp in a stackable form factor that produces a uniform line with a peak irradiance of 55 mW/cm2 and peak energy density (dose) of 65 mJ/cm2 at 265nm. COBRA Clean FX1 can be configured with numerous optical and electrical options. LED illumination offers significant benefits versus traditional UV lamps including design flexibility, longer illuminator lifetimes, high stability light output, precise control, thermal management, ozone-free and heavy metal free. The lamp is independently CE and UL certified.

Deep UV is the wavelength range between 100 – 280 nanometers (nm) referred to as UVC. The maximal pathogenic effect occurs between 240-280nm with 265nm showing the most promising peak effectiveness. UVC LEDs are currently available in the wavelength range 255-280nm. The REWATERGY H2020 European Research Grant awarded to ProPhotonix in November 2018, which focuses on water treatment, augments the development of ProPhotonix UVC LED based products. With the release of COBRA Clean FX1, the Company is actively seeking partners to further commercialize this technology.

Commenting on the COBRA Clean FX1 launch, Tim Losik, CEO and President of ProPhotonix, said: “Following the adoption of the Minamata Convention on Mercury in 2013 as a result of the environmental risks associated with the use of mercury, there has been an increased drive to replace mercury lamps with UV light sources. This product is designed to put reliable UVC LED lamps in the hands of innovators to help accelerate adoption of UVC LED lamps in the marketplace. As this product line develops, we intend to introduce more exciting form factors and capabilities for users.”

Also commenting, Ken Reynolds PhD, Business and Technology Manager, said: “The work in UVC lamps at ProPhotonix began several years ago out of concepts on the matter of neutralizing pathogens at commercial scale. We are now working with and seeking partners in the collaborative design, development and manufacturing of novel UVC LED based products for market adoption.”

AOC Introduces 16T2 15.6″ Portable USB-C Touchscreen Monitor with Smart Cover

[ad_1]

Display specialist AOC announces the AOC 16T2, a new portable touchscreen monitor with USB-C connectivity. The 39.6 cm (15.6″) IPS display 16T2 comes with Full HD resolution and can be connected to a laptop, desktop/server or a smartphone through its two USB-C ports (utilizing DisplayPort alternate mode) or its Micro HDMI port. Thanks to the built-in 8000 mAh battery, the 16T2 can be used on-the-go without requiring a power outlet and can even act as a power bank and charge a smartphone. Less than a centimeter in thickness, a featured smart, foldable cover for portrait and landscape orientations and VESA wall mount option make this monitor a great tool for mobile business users as well as mobile gamers, students, IT administrators, small businesses, DIYers, and more. The AOC 16T2 is available on Amazon starting November 9, 2020, for $249.99.

Touch Recognition

Users appreciate how a multi-monitor setup increases productivity and comfort on their desktop, and now with the 16T2 this is also possible in a mobile environment, with the addition of 10-point touch input. With 10 point projective-capacitive touch recognition technology, the display easily detects 10 fingertips at once. Certified with Windows 10 touch support and compatible with many touch-sensitive applications and games. This feature is great for taking notes on the go, getting a digital signature, or dominating the latest mobile games. In its sleek aluminum-finish AOC’s 16T2, looks just like a tablet, but unlike a tablet, which will become obsolete and a piece of electronic waste once its processor and operating system become old, slow and incompatible, the 16T2 is simply a mobile display, unrestricted by fast-aging technology. This makes the 16T2 a future-proof investment for years to come.

Smart Cover

The 16T2 Smart Cover protects the display surface against dents and scratches inside your bag. While using it, the smart cover transforms into a flexible stand to set up the display in portrait and landscape mode easily,

Equipped for More

Due to its double USB-C inputs and Micro-HDMI input, this portable monitor connects a variety of computers, both legacy as well as the modern ones. When connected via Micro-HDMI, connect the monitor to the PC with the USB-C to USB-A/C to enjoy the touch function. This cable is included in the box. The 16T2 also comes with built-in stereo speakers (2x 1 W).

The 16T2 also acts as a power bank both when switched on and off. When connected to the mains with the USB-C adapter instead, the 16T2 can charge itself and a connected smartphone. 2x USB-C ports on both sides make it possible to charge on the left port and transfer display signal from the right, or vice versa. This makes for a flexible setup that is easily assembled in no time.

Endless Possibilities

The ease of use, flexibility and portability of the AOC 16T2 allow a wide range of use cases:

  • Extending a laptop display for more screen space while working on-the-go
  • As a note-taking tool for students
  • As a productivity booster while working from home (especially in smaller spaces)
  • As a server display
  • As a self-service kiosk display in public spaces
  • As a display for tinkerers, or engineers
  • As a display for mobile gaming or entertainment
  • As a main entertainment display by connecting to a smartphone
