MULTACOM Completes Rigorous SOC 2 Type 2 Certification for Data Center Security and Availability

“We are committed to putting the security and IT needs of our clients first in everything we do and this SOC 2 Type 2 certification proves that,” said Kiarash Jahangiri, chief executive officer at MULTACOM.

MULTACOM, the web host that makes the net work, is pleased to announce that the Company has successfully completed Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type 2 certification for security and availability. This certification reaffirms the importance MULTACOM places on information security policies and procedures with a specific focus on employee responsibility and accountability, appropriate user access, escalation procedures, risk mitigation, ongoing network monitoring, incident reporting, and continuous system operations. The Company’s data center clients can feel confident that MULTACOM places their safety and the safety of their data as its highest priority.

Conducted by an independent auditor, the examination of MULTACOM’s data center operations was carried out in accordance with attestation standards established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The comprehensive assessment has resulted in a publicly available auditor’s report in which no deviations to the strict evaluation standards were noted. MULTACOM has consistently maintained this high level of service and security across all previous SOC 2 Type 2 audits. The Independent Service Auditor’s Report on Controls at a Service Organization Relevant to Security and Availability determined that the company’s “operating controls were suitably designed” and the organization “demonstrates a commitment to integrity and ethical values.”

The Trust Services Criteria of Security and Availability, Applicable Criteria, Related Controls, and Tests of Controls are exhibited through the Company’s design, development, and implementation of strict employee procedures and system operations for its colocation services. MULTACOM clients across the Company’s three Los Angeles, California data centers can rest assured that their data is maintained in a highly secure facility.

“We are committed to putting the security and IT needs of our clients first in everything we do and this SOC 2 Type 2 certification proves that,” said Kiarash Jahangiri, chief executive officer at MULTACOM. “I am so proud of the high level of personal responsibility our team consistently maintains on behalf of our clients. Their ongoing effort and dedication are inspiring.”

A SOC 2 audit analyzes a service organization’s design and operating effectiveness of procedures and system controls and reveals any compliance insufficiencies. While a SOC 2 Type 1 assessment is a snapshot of a single point in time, a SOC 2 Type 2 compliance assessment evaluates if a company has maintained consistently high standards over an entire year. MULTACOM’s SOC 2 Type 2 certification with no deviations noted demonstrates the company’s dedication to both employee and data center excellence.

MULTACOM is focused on providing all businesses from small start-ups to large enterprises with the resources and IT services required to position their business for success. The Company’s suite of services includes colocation, dedicated servers, shared hosting, bandwidth, and IP services, virtual private networks (VPN), and managed services with 100% power and network availability, around-the-clock on-site security, and 24/7/365 technical support.

XIMEA Adds New Models To sCMOS xiJ Camera Family

XIMEA's xiJ sCMOS Camera

XIMEA’s xiJ sCMOS Camera

High speed and resolution, large sensors and pixels, low light sensitivity and unbeatable Quantum efficiency, plus overall adaptability make these cameras shine.

Continuous progress in scientific fields places ever higher demands on the tools used in various research application areas. To meet these increased requirements XIMEA has integrated the newest technologies improving the parameters important for the scientific community. This progress started with the introduction of the newest Scientific CMOS (sCMOS) sensors by Gpixel company, assembled mainly under GSENSE family. The XIMEA team chose to start with models based on GSENSE5130, GSENSE400, GSENSE6060 and especially GSENSE2020 including the BSI versions.

The main distinguishing features of the sCMOS sensors are their remarkable Dynamic range of up to 90 dB and exceptionally low noise down to 1 e-.With the BSI or Backside illuminated versions the sensor gets an additional boost in the Quantum efficiency in certain cases reaching 95% sensitivity. Present is also the HDR mode where for each pixel Low and High gain channels are readout with two 12 bit ADC samples resulting in merged 16 bit. This further allows to optimize the image quality output, either for the lowest noise or highest Full well capacity, saturation and other parameters.

To provide flexibility, XIMEA designed several camera versions for each sensor with some focused on the full speed potential and some on ultimate image properties. This was the reason to offer the cameras with Thermoelectric Peltier cooling or with a fast interface represented by the PCIe able to reach 20 Gbit/s and more. Therefore the models with high speed are oriented on Global shutter mode and models meant for low noise are optimized for the Rolling shutter. The cooled models are ideal for low light applications reducing dark noise during long exposure times, whereas PCIe models are perfect for rapid process capturing.

To summarize, the sensor models joining the XIMEA portfolio as first are prepared in versions with USB3 or PCIe interface and provide the following parameters:

Spectacular visuals and water effects at the picturesque Dam Sen Park in Vietnam

“…we have pulled out all the stops and deployed various AV technologies, such as state-of-the-art laser projections, to deliver a highly immersive and enjoyable experience.” Hoang Tu, Chief Technology Officer, Alta Media

A new nightly lake show at the picturesque Dam Sen Park in Vietnam’s largest and most populous city is turning heads with spectacular visuals and water effects, including large-scale water screen projections using Christie® HS Series 1DLP® laser projectors.

Jointly presented by Dam Sen Theme Park and Christie’s trusted partner Alta Media, the nighttime spectacular features an advanced lighting system comprising lasers, interactive water screen projections and a dancing fountain spanning 100 meters in length. Visitors can enjoy an exciting combination of twirling water jets, complemented by a fire performance and an aerial firework display over an energetic soundtrack. This is the first interactive water screen project in Vietnam that showcases an innovative “photo booth” function where selfie photos taken on-site can be displayed on the water screen during the performance.

“We are delighted to be involved in this major project that seeks to promote Dam Sen Theme Park as the latest and trendiest night tourism destination in Ho Chi Minh City,” said Hoang Tu, chief technology officer, Alta Media. “As the systems integrator and digital content provider for this new outdoor show, we have pulled out all the stops and deployed various AV technologies, such as state-of-the-art laser projections, to deliver a highly immersive and enjoyable experience.”

Noting that the quality and reliability of the projections are most critical to the success of this nighttime extravaganza, Tu said the team had shortlisted several projector models for assessment before deciding on the Christie HS Series. “We needed a high-brightness and cost-effective projection system that not only excels in color accuracy, but also has a small form factor and is easy to install. The Christie D20WU-HS, with an output of 20,600 lumens and Christie BoldColor Technology, that accurately reproduces colorful images without sacrificing brightness, ticks all the boxes and emerged as our preferred choice in terms of both quality and budget,” Tu explained.

A total of four D20WU-HS projectors have been deployed for the water screen projections. They are double-stacked and fitted in a waterproofed, air-conditioned control room built directly across the performance area. The Alta Media team’s primary challenge was to accurately calibrate the images on water screens that are located 200 meters away from the control room. “It is the combination of content development and calibrating with the right lens to attain optimal visuals on the water screens,” Tu added. “In this way, we are able to maximize the impact of the contents, which are updated twice a year to keep the show fresh and appealing.”

The response to the lake show, which made its official debut on New Year’s Eve, has been overwhelmingly positive, with both guests and partners of this project enthralled by the overall visual quality of the water screen projections. Guests are particularly mesmerized by the clarity and sharpness of the selfie images displayed on the interactive water screen, as well as the specially created content that highlights the richness of Vietnamese history and culture.

“We are pleased that Alta Media has chosen the Christie HS Series to power the water screens for this large-scale outdoor spectacular at Dam Sen Park,” said Michael Bosworth, executive vice president, Enterprise, Christie. “This demonstrates the high performance, dependability and versatility of our 1DLP® laser projectors, which are increasingly embraced by customers around the world and used in numerous applications to deliver highly realistic and entertaining experiences.”

KP Performance Antennas Releases New Small Cell Sector Antenna with 15 dBi of Gain

“This new antenna is smaller in size with high gain, allowing it to reduce wind loading by replacing bigger sector antennas. It also features a wider beamwidth, perfect for smaller deployments close to the tower,” said Justin Pollock, Product Line Manager

KP Performance Antennas, an Infinite Electronics brand and a manufacturer of wireless network antennas, just launched a new small cell sector antenna that is ideal for WISP applications and fixed wireless networks.

KP’s new small cell sector antenna is designed with an aesthetically pleasing form factor and 4×4 MIMO operations. It features four ±45 slant-polarization ports with integral N-female connectors in a single enclosure. This antenna’s UV-resistant radome and rugged mounting hardware is ideal for all-weather operation. It also boasts a 0° fixed electrical downtilt.

“This new antenna is smaller in size with high gain, allowing it to reduce wind loading by replacing bigger sector antennas. It also features a wider beamwidth, perfect for smaller deployments close to the tower,” said Justin Pollock, Product Line Manager.

KP’s new small cell sector antenna is in-stock and can be ordered directly from the KP Performance Antennas website or any of KP’s authorized distributors.
