Workit Health’s Telemedicine Addiction Care a Solution for the Opioid Epidemic, According to JAMA

Workit Health, a telehealth addiction treatment company bringing affordable, evidence-based care to individuals, healthcare organizations, and employers, is featured in JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) as a promising solution to fight the opioid crisis.

Over 70% of rural counties disproportionately affected by the overdose crisis lack an opioid use disorder (OUD) medication prescriber – Workit Health is filling this gap in care via telehealth. Rita Ruben’s JAMA article published on August 28th, “Using Telemedicine to Treat Opioid Use Disorder in Rural Areas,” highlights the issues in rural counties where health care professionals aren’t able to treat addiction, and suggests telemedicine as a solution to meet the growing demand.

The JAMA article notes Workit Health as the single company currently connecting prescribers to patients via smartphone app. Programs like Workit Health’s, offering telehealth video visits and online therapy, meet the need for both behavioral health support and medication management required for OUD care, and stand as an underutilized solution for addressing the current crisis. A recent analysis of claims data found relatively low rates of Tele-SUD (substance use disorder) treatment claims, which the authors of the study noted, “Given the severity of the opioid epidemic, low rates of tele-SUD use represent a missed opportunity.”

JAMA talked with Workit Health’s Clinical Advisor Dr. Melody Glenn, who explained the basics of Workit Health’s program: members meet with a clinician in-person, then move to online care via web and phone-apps. Drug testing, online recovery groups, messaging with an expert team, and a personalized set of addiction courses are also included in the program. All follow-up video visits with prescribing clinicians are done via the apps, as well: “It’s a lot like FaceTime,” Glenn explained.

“We’re proud to have our telemedicine work featured in JAMA,” Lisa McLaughlin, Workit Health’s Co-CEO, says. “The studies now show that opioid use disorder treatment with buprenorphine has positive outcomes regardless of visits being in-person or telehealth. We’ve also found this to be the case with our own high rate of patient success.”

“Low-barrier care means helping more people, and saving more lives, so the team is really excited to have JAMA highlight the work we’ve been doing.” Robin McIntosh, Workit Health’s Co-CEO, says. “Lisa, myself, and other Workit staff have lost loved ones to the opioid crisis. We’re connecting experts to those who don’t have rides to treatment, or can’t find childcare.”

Workit Health was founded in 2015 by Robin McIntosh and Lisa McLaughlin, two award-winning entrepreneurs and technologists in long-term addiction recovery themselves, and has since received Joint Commission accreditation for it’s telemedicine addiction therapy program. Workit Health has followed a cohort of it’s telemedicine for OUD program for over a year, with outstanding outcomes: 93% reached abstinence from opioids after the first month in the program, with 84% of them remaining abstinent from opioids after 12 months. It has partnered with the National Science Foundation on a proprietary algorithm to track wellness in recovery, and last year received B Corporation status, solidifying its mission to do social good.

Insurance Experts Present Several Smart Ways To Get Cheaper Car Insurance

News Image

“For many, car insurance is a necessary expense. To cut the costs of insurance, policyholders can bundle multiple policies and drive a safe vehicle”, said Russell Rabichev, Marketing Director of Internet Marketing Company.

Cheapquotesautoinsurance.com has launched a new blog post that presents several smart methods that can help car owners cut costs on car insurance.

For more info and free online quotes, please visit https://cheapquotesautoinsurance.com/cut-costs-car-insurance/

In most states, car insurance is required by law. For many, car insurance can be a costly investment that can seriously affect the family’s budget. Fortunately, there are many ways that can help anyone pay less on car insurance.

To cut costs on car insurance, drivers can follow the next tips:

  • Keep the car parked in a garage. Insurance companies prefer cars that are kept in garages and for this reason, they will lower the insurance rates. Cars that are being kept in a garage are less likely to be stolen and are better protected against the severe weather.
  • Increase deductibles. Policyholders can agree to pay more money out of their pockets, before the insurance kicks in. Doing this will lower the price of insurance. However, drivers should ensure they will save enough money in order to pay for the deductibles if they will have to file a claim.
  • Drive a safe car. Exotic sports cars or limousines are expensive to insure. These cars are expensive to repair and are favorite targets for thieves. Instead, drivers should try to insure slightly used minivans, SUV’s, or sedans that are equipped with several safety devices. These types of vehicles are cheaper to insure and they cost less to repair.
  • Keep a good credit score or improve it. Insurance companies will look at the drivers’ credit score before granting them coverage. Insurers claim they found a correlation between a driver’s credit score and his chances to file for a claim. For this reason, drivers with a poor credit score will pay more on insurance premiums, while policyholders with good or excellent credit score will less.
  • Bundle multiple policies. One of the easiest methods used by drivers to save money on car insurance is to bundle policies. Drivers that own at least two vehicles can combine their policies at one insurer and obtain a multi-car discount. Also, drivers can combine different types of policies like car insurance with life insurance, homeowner’s insurance, or health insurance and obtain a multi-policy discount.

Sunridge Community Church Celebrates 30 Years of Ministry in the Temecula Valley

Sunridge Church Temecula, CA

We are blessed to have been a part of this amazing community for 30 years now. We want to be a place where people can develop an authentic relationship with God, as well as connect with others and serve their community.

Sunridge Community Church, a non-denominational Christian church in Temecula, California, announced that this year, they are celebrating 30 years in ministry.

Sunridge was started in 1988 by six couples who had moved to the Temecula Valley with the dream of starting a church in the rapidly growing Valley. The church started as a Bible study in the home of a high school football coach, but soon grew too large for the home and began renting space in a local school. For the next 12 years, Sunridge continued to meet in that multi-purpose room for their Sunday services.

In 2003, Sunridge moved into the space the church still currently occupies—a renovated warehouse on Winchester Road in Temecula. Having a space of their own allowed the church to expand their ministry and outreach to the community. They now host Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS), a bi-weekly group for mothers of young children, Grief Share, Divorce Care, and Survivors of Suicide Loss support groups. They also make their facilities available to the community for memorial services when a large space is needed. The church offers free counseling services, as well as mentoring programs. The church’s high school and middle school groups welcome teens from all over the valley at their mid-week meetings.

The church recently underwent a renovation of its multi-purpose room to be better equipped to accommodate large church and community events, and also modified one of their larger classrooms to better serve children and families with special needs. Also in the last several years, the church hired an ASL interpreter to include members of the deaf community in the main Sunday service, and has started a new group for senior adults and one for young adults in the Valley. The church partners with several community organizations, including Birth Choice, Prison Ministry, Community Mission of Hope, and the Brook, a ministry to the homeless community started by members of Sunridge.

Sunridge is also involved in ministry to those around the globe. They currently support missionaries serving throughout Asia, Africa, and Europe and have sent out teams for short-term missions projects to countries like Nepal, Romania, Cuba, and Mexico.

Britt Sipe, who has been the lead pastor at Sunridge since 2014, had this to say about Sunridge’s 30 years of ministry, “We are blessed to have been a part of this amazing community for 30 years now. As the Temecula Valley has continued to grow, we have grown along with it, addressing the spiritual, physical, and relational needs of those in the Valley. We want to be a place where people can develop an authentic relationship with God, as well as connect with others and serve their community.”

Sunridge Church welcomes anyone to attend their Sunday services, which are currently at 9:00 and 10:30 am, or any of the other events happening at their church. Sunridge Church is located at 42299 Winchester Road, Temecula, CA 92590. You can find out more about the church on their website: https://sunridgechurch.org/

Eastbourne Cineworld has become Europe’s first all-RGB laser cineplex after opting for Christie RealLaser™ technology. The UK cinema’s eight auditoriums have all been fitted with Christie’s CP2315-RGB and CP2320-RGB offerings – bringing unprecedented levels of brightness, colour, and contrast to create unmatched cinematic performance. Christie RGB laser projection systems have also been installed at a brace of other UK Cineworld-owned locations, further demonstrating the exhibitor’s commitment to RGB laser technology.

The CP2315-RGB and CP2320-RGB give exhibitors the latest innovations in RGB pure laser technology at a cost of ownership comparable to Xenon. Featuring CineLife™ electronics and RealLaser™ illumination, the models both excel in image quality, operational lifetime and overall cost. Their compact, all-in-one form factors do not require any external chillers or parts for a seamless installation into any booth.

The Cineworld Group has also placed its trust in Christie at The Picturehouse Central in the Piccadilly area of London, where its screen has been upgraded with a RealLaser™ projection system. In addition, the O2 Greenwich Superscreen – one of the largest screens in Europe – is powered by a Christie RGB laser projection system.

“It’s thrilling to us that exhibitors are investing in RealLaser™ in cinemas to suite a variety of audiences, and it reaffirms our decision to focus on RGB laser technology,” says Phil Lord, cinema sales manager, Christie. “We firmly believe that this technology will allow cinemas to draw audiences in by offering customers an authentic and immersive experience, both now and in the future, with amazing visual performance for years to come, and a low total cost of ownership.”

With its RealLaser illumination technology, Christie’s projectors comply with DCI standards and delivers more than 95 percent of Rec. 2020 without filtering or colour correction. The rich, deep, and intense colours along with high contrast create astounding visuals in 2K and 4K for audiences to enjoy, while delivering significant operational efficiencies to Cineworld.

Pond Lehocky Kicks Off Paid Volunteer Time for Staff with Its Inaugural 7 Days of Summer Giving

Pond Lehocky Stern Giordano is expanding its outreach to the community by using its most valuable asset—its people. The firm has announced a new volunteer time off program to give employees an incentive to get more involved in the community.

Under the new program, employees can use up to seven hours of work time per year to volunteer for good causes during the workday. And Pond Lehocky’s staff will get an immediate opportunity to put the volunteer time to good use. The firm is presenting its inaugural “7 Days of Summer Giving.”

Similar to Pond Lehocky’s 25 Days of Giving, which the firm has done for the last two years, the firm will spend August 16-22 volunteering in the community and donating to charitable causes. Each day will have its own theme with employees getting a chance to help the children, animals, the homeless, the sick, the poor, labor unions and veterans.

Pond Lehocky’s partners figured that giving back is so rewarding, why restrict it to the holiday season.

The schedule for the 7 Days of Summer Giving is as follows:

  •     Day 1: Giving to Animals – The Pennsylvania SPCA will be coming into the office on Friday, August 16, from 12:00 – 2:00 PM. Staff will be able to pet a puppy while learning about opportunities to use their VTO. They will also be donating food, toys and other necessities.
  •     Day 2: Giving to Environmental Causes – On Saturday, August 17, staff will be participating in a clean-up project at Rittenhouse Square from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
  •     Day 3: Giving to Labor – Pond Lehocky will be giving back to these hard-working men and women of labor on Sunday, August 18, providing food and beverages to different groups of workers around the area.
  •     Day 4: Giving to the Homeless – On Monday, August 19, Pond Lehocky will be going to the Chosen 300 Ministry at 6:00 PM to serve food, drinks, clothing and hygiene products to those in need.
  •     Day 5: Giving to the Sick – On Tuesday, August 20, Pond Lehocky associate Brynn Lapszynski will be speaking about Social Security disability to the Gift of Life family house at 7:00 PM. The Gift of Life provides housing to families waiting for organ transplants.
  •     Day 6: Giving to Children – On Wednesday, August 21, firm staff will be assembling “Bev’s Basics Kits” for Beverly’s Birthday, an organization that provides birthday cheer to homeless children and families in need.
  •     Day 7: Giving to Veterans – On Thursday, August 22, Pond Lehocky staff members will be going to the Veterans Multi-Service Center from 12:00 – 2:00 PM to play Bingo with veterans.

The firm recognizes that it is a privilege to represent the hard-working people of the community, who have trusted the firm to fight for them. The firm’s partners believe that with this privilege giving back to the community through educational and charitable efforts is not just an option, it’s a duty. This privilege comes with a duty to give back to the community. Thus, Pond Lehocky has made community engagement on local, national and global levels a centerpiece of its firm culture.

Pond Lehocky’s partners and its executive team recognize that the firm’s charitable outreach and the addition of VTO are also valuable tool to keep employees engaged and motivated.

A 2017 UnitedHealthcare study concluded that individuals who regularly volunteer report lower stress levels (79 percent), improved moods (93 percent) and improved self-esteem (88 percent). Respondents also said that volunteering has helped them develop professional and collaborative skills.

“Giving back to the community is our social responsibility,” Pond Lehocky’s Chief Human Resources Officer Jennifer Heinz said. “It is not only fun, rewarding and makes people feel good, but it is also just the right thing to do.”

Pond Lehocky Stern Giordano opened its doors in July 2010. Today, it is the largest workers’ compensation and Social Security disability law firm in the region and has expanded nationwide with offices in New Jersey, New York and California. The firm has also recently added new practice areas for workers, including employment law and long-term disability, and has a national referral network, which has helped 86,000 clients with referrals.

“Over the last almost eight years, we’ve grown from an idea into a multi-million dollar company.”

Baltimore-based Applied Development is No. 1019 on Inc. magazine’s annual Inc. 5000 list. This list of independent small businesses represents the most prestigious ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies.

“We are thrilled to be on the Inc. 5000 list,” says Applied Development’s CEO and co-founder Kimberly Citizen. “Over the last almost eight years, we’ve grown from an idea into a multi-million dollar company.” Through a variety of services, Applied Development champions the rights of people of all abilities to work and communicate effectively and ranks within the top 75 government services companies on the Inc. 5000.

Applied Development has also been recognized for outstanding growth and revenue by the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program, the Baltimore Business Journal, the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and the National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA).

“Our growth is a direct result of the hard work our team has put into our company,” Ms. Citizen adds. “Over the last eight years, we’ve learned lessons about the services, products, or processes that create success for us and our customers, and applied those lessons to the development of our company.”

Many well-known companies like Microsoft, Dell, Domino’s Pizza, Pandora, Timberland, LinkedIn, Yelp, and Zillow gained their first national exposure as honorees on the Inc. 5000.

This year’s list shows companies that are competitive within their markets, and extremely successful on the whole. The 2019 Inc. 5000 companies averaged a three-year growth rate of 454 percent, and a median rate of 157 percent. This resulted in $237.7 billion in aggregate revenue and over 1.2 million jobs in the U.S. economy.

“The companies on this year’s Inc. 5000 have followed so many different paths to success,” says Inc. editor in chief James Ledbetter. “There’s no single course you can follow or investment you can take that will guarantee this kind of spectacular growth. But what they have in common is persistence and seizing opportunities.”

Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found at http://www.inc.com/inc5000.

The annual Inc. 5000 event honoring the companies on the list will be held October 10 to 12, 2019, at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa in Phoenix, Arizona, with speakers including leading innovators and business owners.
