Worldwide Business with kathy ireland® is pleased to announce an exclusive interview with Condair Switzerland CEO Oliver Zimmerman and Consultant Dr. Stephanie Taylor to discuss their revolutionary humidifiers that enhance indoor air quality.

Condair is the leading manufacturer and provider of complete solutions in the areas of humidification and evaporative cooling. The company has a comprehensive portfolio including products, services, experience and know-how. This enables Condair to create the ideal indoor climate while keeping energy consumption low and reducing impact on the environment. Condair is passionate about sharing and developing only the best solutions for humidity and environmentally-conscious evaporative control. Exposure to dry air in a home or work environment can cause discomfort and can also lead to skin and eye irritation, hair damage, respiratory problems and subsequent infections. It can also negatively impact a home by negating proper static electricity dissipation, which can lead to a risk of static shock, as well as potential damage to wooden floors and structural components (because dry air can pull moisture away from the structure of a home). With proper humidification from Condair, these effects can be minimized and, in many cases, eliminated. Condair has developed a comprehensive suite of humidification systems that enable for properties of all sizes to introduce efficient and consistent hydration and comfort control. Condair was founded in 1948 and is headquartered in Pfäffikon/SZ near Zurich, Switzerland

Zimmerman says that nearly anyone — and any building — can benefit from Condair. He explains, “When you think back in history, for thousands of years, mankind lived in spaces with an open architecture. There was a natural exchange of air and therefore also good natural humidity. And then, about three-hundred years ago with the Industrial Revolution, we started spending our time more and more indoors. And now, we spend eighty to ninety percent of our time indoors. Nowadays, we have tight building envelopes. There is less and less air exchange. Therefore, almost any building needs humidity.” For more information about Condair’s humidifiers and air hydration solutions, visit Condair.com and tune in to Fox Business Network as sponsored content on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at 5:30pm EST.

Preferred Health Insurance Solutions Provides Important Dates and Direction For The Upcoming 2020 Health Insurance Marketplace

https://www.prweb.com/

The 2020 Open Enrollment Period runs from Friday, November 1st to Sunday, December 15, 2019

The Open Enrollment Period provides consumers the ability to shop for new plans and enroll for coverage. This is the only time consumers can purchase a qualified, guaranteed issue, Major Medical Health Plan, without a qualifying event

“In order to prepare for the approaching Open Enrollment Period, consumers should begin by reviewing their current health plan. This is the first, but critical step, to ensure that their new health plan best meets their current budget and health insurance needs,” began Bob Dial, vice president, Preferred Health Insurance Solutions (PHIS).

The 2020 Open Enrollment Period runs from Friday, November 1st to Sunday, December 15, 2019. Individuals that do not enroll by December 15th cannot get a marketplace health insurance plan unless they qualify for at least one of the criteria outlined in the Special Enrollment Period. In order to help individuals begin this process, Dial outlines some critical first steps and important deadlines.

Begin by reviewing your current 2019 health insurance plan.

Important information to think through include:

1. Does my current health insurance plan still meet my individual or family needs?

2. Since selecting my 2019 health insurance plan, have there been any new health challenges my family or I now face?

3. Has there been any financial changes?

4. Are the doctors my family or I receive care from still within network or covered on my 2019 health insurance plan?

Work with a licensed health insurance agent that can help you select a policy for the new calendar year. After this evaluation step is completed, seek out the direction of a licensed health insurance professional that is trained to walk a client through the entire process of selecting a healthcare plan and enrolling for coverage. Additionally, a licensed health insurance agent will be able to respond to any questions you may have regarding your new 2020 health insurance policy.

Be aware of important deadlines and dates outlined by the federal government. These dates include:

a. November 1st: marks the first day you can enroll, re-enroll, or change a 2020 insurance plan through the Health Insurance Marketplace.

b. December 15th: Open Enrollment Period closes.

c. January 1ST 2020: The date when 2020 health insurance plan coverage begins.

Dial added, “It is forecasted that 2020 plans and benefit information will be released at the end of October. Selecting the right health insurance plan is a complex decision. In addition to budgetary considerations, it is vital that a plan be selected that provides the necessary health insurance coverage an individual and their family may need.”

Gather all necessary documents that are required in order to complete the health insurance registration process. The following documents will be needed for each member named in the policy:

1. Prior to starting the application, determine who in your household needs to apply or re-enroll for coverage.

2. Information about everyone applying for coverage such as home address, Social Security Numbers, birthdates,

3. For re-enrollees, policy numbers and plan IDs, for any current health plans covering members of the household.

4. Document information for legal immigrants.

5. Information about how taxes are filed. To reference, having past tax documents available will help ensure financial information is entered correctly.

6. Employer and income information for every member of your household that will be included on the policy. Pay stubs or W2 forms will need to be provided.

Dial explained, “Purchasing health insurance through the Marketplace is a complicated process. There are a number of factors, government rules, and provisions to take into account before purchasing health insurance. The Open Enrollment Period provides consumers the ability to shop for new plans and enroll for coverage. This is the only time consumers can purchase a qualified, guaranteed issue, Major Medical Health Plan, without a qualifying event.”

The insurance professionals at PHIS are prepared to assist consumers with all their enrollment needs. The dedicated PHIS Call Center consists of a team of multi-lingual, health insurance professionals, that are trained to walk a client through the entire process of selecting a healthcare plan and enrolling them for their coverage, as well as responding to any questions they may have regarding their new health insurance policy. The PHIS Call Center will be available to assist consumers enrolling for their 2020 health plan. Consumers can call the PHIS Call Center at 800-342-0631 or access the company’s website at http://www.PHISonline.com.

See Krampade Introduce Their New Science-Based Sports Drink That Prevents Cramping

https://www.prweb.com/

Worldwide Business with kathy ireland®: and Krampade

Krampade is a revolutionary new product that can prevent the onset of cramps and stop active cramps in less than one minute.

Worldwide Business with kathy ireland® is pleased to announce an exclusive interview with Krampade CEO Eric Murphy to discuss their drink that helps people with chronic cramps find much-needed relief.

Krampade is a revolutionary new product that can prevent the onset of cramps and stop active cramps in less than one minute. Krampade started simply as an experiment by the founder, who was a medical school professor who suffered from cramps his entire life. Having suffered through cramps as a high school and small college athlete and continually cramping under all kinds of circumstances, including suffering from tetany in his hands and feet, he felt there had to be a better way to live. At the age of forty-nine, he embarked on an experiment using self-dosing of potassium chloride to replace potassium lost every day through normal kidney function, during exercise and exercise associated sweating. All of a sudden, his leg pain and cramps went away. His hands stopped cramping doing simple tasks and his cramping during competition and exercise as well during everyday life simply vanished. His GI motility returned to normal and his heartburn disappeared. That’s when Krampade was born. From high school football players to NCAA Division I hockey players, Krampade works when using 1K and 2K on a daily basis before and after practice and using 4K when acute cramps occur. From chefs to women suffering through monthly period cramping, Krampade is extremely effective.

Murphy says that he’s very proud to share some big news about Krampade. He explains, “Krampade is now the official sports drink partner of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference. We’re really happy to be involved with them and look forward to that relationship now and in the future.” For more information about Krampade, visit Krampade.com and tune in to Fox Business Network as sponsored content on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at 5:30pm EST.

Leading Gum Disease Experts in Moorestown, NJ, Canal Calem Periodontics Kicks Off this Season’s Pinnacle Dental Study Club

Periodontists, Drs. Mario Canal and Ben Calem, and the staff at Canal Calem Periodontics, Serving Moorestown, NJ and Medford, NJ.

Canal Calem Periodontics Kick off their Pinnacle Dental Study Club

Canal Calem Periodontics offers effective and experienced gum disease care for all stages of the disease.

Esteemed periodontists, Drs. Mario Canal and Ben Calem of Canal Calem Periodontics, recently hosted a continuing education seminar titled, “Modern Anterior Composite Techniques,” featuring guest speaker, Dr. Arthur Volker. The continuing education seminar was a part of the Pinnacle Dental Study Club, of which both doctors are co-directors. Passionate about oral health, Drs. Canal and Calem offer leading periodontal treatment in Moorestown and Medford, NJ, including treatments for gum disease and gingivectomy care, at their state-of-the-art practice.

“The objective of the Seattle Study Club is to promote high quality dental education here in South Jersey,” says Dr. Calem. “When attendees walk out of the door, they are better educated, and they get it. They have a sense of accomplishment.”

The event was the first of six continuing education seminars that the doctors have planned for the 2019-2020 study club members. The course is open to doctors and is part of the renowned Seattle Study Club, a national organization with over 250 affiliates. After completing all six seminars, participating doctors will earn 24.5 continuing education credits. This first seminar was held at The Mansion in Voorhees, NJ and featured keynote speaker, Dr. Arthur Volker, who lectured on “Modern Anterior Composite Techniques.” The learning objectives of the seminar included:

  • Applying principles of smile design and analysis of proportions
  • Integrating dental aesthetics to smile design
  • Discussing composite options
  • Systematizing preparation protocols
  • Methodologies available for direct composites
  • Discussing polishing techniques

As periodontists, Drs. Canal and Calem specialize in the hard and soft tissues of the mouth. This often includes treatment for periodontal disease, or gum disease, an infection of the soft tissues that surround the teeth. If gums are not properly cleansed, the resulting gum disease can ultimately cause tooth loss.

Gum disease can be cleansed in a variety of ways depending on the patient’s needs. Often osseous surgery or a gingivectomy is performed. A gingivectomy is a specialty treatment of the gums that is best performed by skilled periodontists. It involves the careful removal and reshaping of infected gum tissue. When gum disease cases are not as severe, timely gingivectomy care can cleanse infection from the gums and allow for proper reattachment to the tooth roots. As a dual benefit, a gingivectomy can also reshape the gums to a more aesthetic appearance.

Canal Calem Periodontics offers effective and experienced gum disease care for all stages of the disease. Additionally, patients can receive advanced dental care, including dental implant placement, bone grafting, tooth extractions and more, at this cutting-edge facility. Patients who require a gingivectomy or other advanced treatment can also benefit from sedation dentistry offered at the practice. Sedation options, like oral sedation and nitrous oxide, block sensations of discomfort and allow patients to feel relaxed.

Patients in need of leading periodontal care, including a gingivectomy, in Moorestown, NJ or surrounding areas can contact Canal Calem Periodontics at either of their two practice locations. Appointments can be made by calling 856-203-6588 for the Moorestown, NJ location or 609-534-5541 for the Medford, NJ location.

About the Periodontists

Canal Calem Periodontics offers modern periodontal treatments for patients in Moorestown and Medford, NJ. Since 1993, Canal Calem Periodontics has been a resource in South Jersey for providing comprehensive periodontal and implant therapy. Working closely with the general dentist, Drs. Mario J. Canal and Ben Calem strive to improve their patients’ oral health and re-develop their dentition, where necessary. Both Drs. Canal and Calem are active in the community through their involvement with Donated Dental Services and The Holocaust Survivor’s Program. In addition, their strong belief in organized dentistry has led them both to serve as President of the Southern Dental Society. Harmony Foundation Announces Second Major Expansion During Its 50th Year

Harmony Foundation, the Colorado-based addiction treatment center headquartered in Estes Park is launching a new intensive outpatient program (IOP) starting November 1, 2019. This program is appropriate for individuals who are working toward continued sobriety in a less structured treatment environment. The Harmony IOP will be held as a weekend retreat-style program averaging 12 to 16 weeks. It is designed as an ideal program for those individuals with busy weekly work and family schedules.

Earlier this year, Harmony opened a satellite location in Fort Collins providing needed recovery support services for those residing on the I-25 corridor. Our commitment to long term recovery prompted the need for services that would help individuals in early recovery and even later to stay engaged in a program of sobriety and wellness. Alumni, families and the community at-large are invited to be a part of the weekly programming offered at the Recovery Center, including Recovery Coaching, wellness trainings and Recovery Support Groups.

These expansions happened yesterday as Harmony Foundation marks its 50th Anniversary with a gala in Denver, Colorado on Friday, October 25 at the Four Seasons Hotel. Carnie Wilson of Wilson Phillips was the special guest speaker of this milestone event that commemorated the long and impactful heritage of Harmony Foundation which has positively changed the lives of thousands. Proceeds from this event will benefit scholarships supporting those with the desire, but without the means, to receive the addiction treatment they need.

Swamp Fitness Offers a Convenient Way to Get Health Results by Providing In-Home Exercise & Nutrition Coaching

The founder of Swamp Fitness, Jarred Mussen, has been helping Gainesville residents get results by re-igniting their healthy habits for more than seven years. Many people want to improve their health and fitness results or get started on their health journey but are lacking the motivation, guidance, and accountability. This leaves many people putting off an exercise routine or healthy nutrition plan. Many Gainesville residents are challenged with finding time to consistently drive to the gym, let alone create an exercise and nutrition plan that is effective within their busy lifestyle.

Faced with greater time constraints from work, childcare, etc., Americans often skip out on exercise and turn to more convenient food options with lower nutritional values. Although not exercising and opting for unhealthy convenience foods both save time, they tend to leave people with less energy and a poor mood. The consequences of not establishing consistent exercise and healthy nutrition habits has many health risks and can have a major negative impact on our mental health which takes away from the important areas of our lives that are taking up our time.

In order to protect health and quality of life, many feel the need for a proactive solution to empower individuals to get effective health results such as working with a personal trainer Gainesville, FL. Health experts recommend that adults should be getting at least 150 minutes of exercise per week. This task can be monumental to people who are struggling with losing weight, improving mood and energy, as well as preventing health conditions such as high blood pressure, depression, diabetes, and obesity. Many middle-aged individuals have an awakening after learning about the reality of their current health state from their doctor, causing them to take action with prioritizing their health in effort to make the most of life.

Hiring a personal trainer in Gainesville, FL that will travel to the clients’ home within the schedule that works best for the client’s lifestyle is very effective at not just getting the client their desired fitness results, but also establishing the sustainable routine habits that will help the client stay committed even after they finish their personal training program. The accountability of a fitness professional showing up to the client’s home ensures that they stay consistent with their exercise and nutrition program.

The company, Swamp Fitness has a team of Registered Dietitian Nutritionists and Certified Personal Trainers in Gainesville, FL who truly care about you and your health and have expertise with providing individually customized exercise prescription and nutritional coaching. Swamp Fitness matches you with the personal trainer and registered dietitian nutritionist that is the best fit for you based on your goals, personality, and preferred training style. Rather than having to carve out time to drive to the gym and come up with a plan, this company has been able to offer Gainesville Personal Training at your preferred location (such as your home) and within the availability that works best within your life. They understand the importance of your health and truly want you to live life to the fullest.

Swamp Fitness has these four core values at the essence of how they operate: Authenticity. Compassion. Responsibility. Progress. Their Gainesville personal training services are for people who need it most, those who you don’t see in the gym and are having major challenges with living a healthy lifestyle and getting the health and fitness results they want. Their message that they are trying to get out is that they are committed to helping Gainesville residents get health results in the comfort and convenience of their own home and within their availability. Adjuvant.Health Announces Pediatric Independence Initiatives

https://www.prweb.com/

Adjuvant.Health

As advocates and champions for pediatric practice independence, we know that pediatricians need tools, strategies and support in order to thrive and survive.

The number of independent pediatric practices in the United States is declining at an alarming rate. According to several recent surveys fewer physicians own practices than are employed at hospitals and other organizations. The leadership of Adjuvant.Health is committed to stopping and reversing this disturbing trend. As a pediatrician-led innovator and provider of best-in-breed pediatric practice office administrative support, vulnerability protection and profitability enhancement services, Adjuvant.Health’s experts know what pediatricians need to secure their futures.

“To ensure pediatricians understand and identify what they need to remain independent, today I am announcing Adjuvant.Health’s Pediatric Independence Initiative. This initiative is a series of educational events, programs and new services created by medical doctors and experts. The elements of these programs have been designed to give pediatricians the tools, services and resources to secure their long-term financial success and freedom to offer care the way they want to, not how others tell them to provide care,” said Etan Walls, CEO of Adjuvant.Health.

“As advocates and champions for pediatric practice independence, we know that pediatricians need tools, strategies and support in order to thrive and survive. Independence is also critical for ensuring patients and their families have access to and receive quality health care across the United States,” said Dr. Kerry Fierstein, Practicing Pediatrician, CEO Allied Physicians Group and Executive Chair Adjuvant.Health.

The Adjuvant.Health Pediatric Independence Initiative includes:

Adjuvant.Health Partners Program, a recently launched program which is the foundation for Adjuvant.Health’s national pediatrician independence-focused initiatives. The Partners Program is a growing national network of independent pediatric practitioners and group practices that work together and leverage best-in-breed practice administration services, tools, technology, threat reduction strategies and profitability consulting support.

The Adjuvant.Health Pediatric Independence Retreat is a new and exclusive two-day event focusing on best practices to ensure independence. All practitioners who wish to remain independent and thrive should apply to attend. The retreat will be held in New York in early May of 2020. Location, dates and agenda will be announced in December 2019. For qualified practitioners and practices there is no charge to attend or for transportation. This event will feature nationally recognized speakers, practice management experts and practicing pediatricians. Sessions will cover profitability, technology and EMR integration, HR and employee engagement, office efficiency, patient experience and communication and threat identification. Practitioners will participate in peer-to-peer roundtable discussions with likeminded professionals and have the special opportunity to take a look into the future of ambulatory pediatric care delivery. Applications now being accepted. To apply for the retreat visit http://www.adjuvant.health/retreat.

Adjuvant.Health’s Practice Shield is a comprehensive pediatric practice threat vulnerability and profitability assessment service. With more than 13 years of experience working with pediatric practices of all sizes, Adjuvant.Health’s team has developed a proprietary pediatric practice threat assessment. This assessment identifies all potential physical, technological and staff concerns. The assessment is combined with tools and approaches which also uncover hidden profit potential in billing procedures, reimbursement strategies and efficient office operation. Using information from the assessment, effective policies, procedures and systems are established to eliminate threats, reduce costs, improve efficiency and enhance profitability.

“It is very clear that most pediatricians want to maintain their independence and keep control over the way they provide care. Many are demanding access to partners, services, technology and strategies that will protect them from hospitals, corporate health care providers and health systems. With independence, patients and patient families benefit by building stronger relationships with their pediatricians and this results in better care and outcomes,” added Dr. Fierstein.

Members of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery Elect 2019-20 Leadership

ASDS AM19 logo

Voting members of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) recently elected five leaders to the second largest professional medical specialty society for dermatology in North America. Their 2019-20 terms begin today at the 2019 ASDS Annual Meeting in Chicago.

President: Marc Brown, MD

Dr. Brown succeeds Murad Alam, MD, MBA, who became the Society’s Immediate Past President during this morning’s annual Business Meeting. He is the Director of the Division of Mohs Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology

and Professor of Dermatology and Oncology at the University of Rochester’s

School of Medicine in Rochester, New York. An active ASDS member since residency, he previously served on the Boards of Directors and has participated in numerous work groups, leading both the Audit Committee and Educational Exchange Work Group as Chair. Dr. Brown has authored 65 peer-reviewed publications.

“I’m passionate about making sure that ASDS members can continue to provide appropriate quality care for their patients by working with policy makers and insurance payers at the local, state and national levels. I also believe educating the public through the media is imperative to continue the message of the safe and effective surgical treatments that dermatologic surgeons provide,” said Dr. Brown.

President-Elect: Mathew M. Avram, MD, JD

Dr. Avram was elected to the office of President-Elect and will ascend to President in 2020-21. Previously, he served as Treasurer from 2015-18 and on the ASDS Board of Directors from 2011-14. Dr. Avram has also been actively involved in numerous committees and work groups for the past 10 years. He is the Director at MGH Dermatology Laser, Cosmetics and Dermatologic Surgery, as well as an Associate Professor of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School Department of Dermatology.

“We face numerous challenges in the current health care environment. My primary goal is to advocate tirelessly and effectively for the needs of dermatologic surgeons. I believe it is essential that we educate and lobby local, state and federal government; elevate the status and recognition of dermatologic surgeons among our medical colleagues and the public; protect the public from unskilled providers; provide outstanding educational opportunities at national, regional and online venues; and provide funding for cutting-edge research in dermatologic surgery to maintain our leadership in this field,” said Dr. Avram.

Vice President: Sue Ellen Cox, MD

Dr. Cox will ascend to President-Elect in 2021-22. She is the Medical Director at Aesthetic Solutions PA in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and serves as affiliate staff at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine’s Department of Dermatology and Consulting Associate at the Duke University Medical Center’s Department of Dermatology. She served as the Society’s Secretary from 2016-19; as a member of the ASDS Board of Directors from 2007-10; has chaired several ASDS work groups for the areas of education, membership and member engagement; and has been a member of nearly 30 work groups, committees and task forces.

“ASDS members have been instrumental in the creation and development of many procedures, and the Society is uniquely positioned to continue leadership in new technologies and improved patient care. The strength of ASDS is our members, the future with our younger members. We must navigate today’s challenges while we prepare tomorrow’s leaders and strengthen our efforts by encouraging member participation, providing a seat at the table and remaining open to new ideas,” said Dr. Cox.

Treasurer: Kavita Mariwalla, MD

Dr. Mariwalla assumes the role of Treasurer. The Secretary is appointed by the Board of Directors and serves a 3-year term. Dr. Mariwalla served on the ASDS / ASDSA Boards of Directors from 2015-18 and as the Resident Representative from 2007-08. She is currently Chair of the Tradeshow Work Group and has been a member of the Finance Committee since 2017.

Dr. Mariwalla has been very involved in the Society, participating in or leading several work groups; serving as a mentor in the Future Leaders Network (FLN); creating the Dermatologic Surgery Primer and Cosmeceutical Compendium; earning the Outstanding Service Award in 2012; and President’s Awards in 2009, 2018 and 2019.

Board Member: M. Laurin Council, MD

Dr. Council is an Associate Professor of Dermatology at Washington University in Saint Louis, Missouri and an active member of ASDS / ASDSA since her residency in 2007. She is currently Chair of the Journal Work Group; Co-chair of the Federal Affairs Work Group; Delegate ASDSA Representative to AMA; and Assistant Editor of the Society’s journal, Dermatologic Surgery.

“The practice of medicine is ever changing, and members of ASDS look to the organization to navigate the evolving healthcare system. Increasing regulations ultimately affect our ability to deliver cost-effective care. I will work tirelessly to advocate for dermatologic surgeons at the local, state and national levels.”

Board Member: Ian A. Maher, MD

Dr. Maher is the Director of Dermatologic Surgery and Associate Professor of Dermatology at the University of Minnesota. He created the Sun Safe Soccer Program while participating in FLN, which educates consumers on sun safety when UV exposure is unavoidable. He is Co-chair of the Patient Education Work Group; Co-chair of the Policy Priorities Work Group; Assistant Editor and Ad Hoc Reviewer of Dermatologic Surgery; Preceptor for the ASDS Resident Preceptorship Program; and ASDSA Representative to the National Coalition for Skin Cancer Prevention.

“As a member of the Board of Directors, I will continue to advocate for projects that strategically position us within the medical and regulatory communities and protect our ability to deliver the right care for our patients. I will help find new and innovative ways to deliver educational content in an impactful and convenient way.”

Board Member: Anthony M. Rossi, MD

Dr. Rossi is an Assistant Attending-Dermatology Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York and Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Weill Cornell Medicine/New York Presbyterian. He serves as a mentor in the Society’s Future Leaders Network (FLN) and chair and/or member of numerous ASDS and ASDSA work groups. He serves as a Delegate ASDSA Representative to the American Medical Association (AMA) and is passionate about advocating for and advancing the field of dermatologic surgery.

“It will be key for us to strengthen the organization and our membership by providing members with more web-based content; advocating for all types of dermatologic surgeons and their practices; and advancing ASDS as an organization and authority in dermatologic surgery through collaboration and expanded scope of education.”

Resident Representative: Katherine Ligtenberg, MD, PhD, MBA

The Resident Representative to the ASDS and ASDSA Boards of Directors holds a two-year term providing input and guidance to the Society and Association in their efforts to expand outreach and services to dermatology residents.

Obesity Rates May Be Increasing but so Is the Ability to Fight It, Says Dr. Feiz and Associates

https://www.prweb.com/

Is it the food that makes people fat or the hormonal drives that make food nearly impossible to resist.

Failing to lose enough weight to defeat obesity is not a sign of poor willpower and it’s definitely not a character flaw.

An October 13 article on Yahoo News reports on the increasingly alarming rate of obesity in the United States. According to the article, while no U.S. state had an obesity rate above 15 percent in 1985, all 50 states now have a population that is over 20 percent obese. The article cites quite a few reasons for this rise, including eating out more often (restaurant food tends to be significantly higher in calories), poor diets lacking in nutritious foods, and a lack of exercise caused by lifestyles that have become increasingly sedentary. Los Angeles-based weight loss center Dr. Feiz and Associates says that, while obese individuals should naturally be making a concerted effort to eat better and exercise, failing to lose enough weight to defeat obesity is not a sign of poor willpower and it’s definitely not a character flaw. Instead, the clinic holds the body’s own mechanisms as a primary offender in preventing people from achieving sustained weight loss. So far, the clinic notes, certain weight loss procedures have proven to be highly effective in circumventing hormonal efforts to keep obese people forever obese.

The primary chemical enemy of dieters, the medical group explains, is a hormone known as ghrelin that is believed to be responsible for creating sensations of hunger in the body. When an individual loses a large amount of weight, particularly if this loss occurs at a rapid pace, the body sends false alarms that the individual is not receiving enough calories and enters into a survival mode of sorts – trying to induce us to eat more calories as if a famine was coming soon. The clinic notes that these hormonally induced feelings feel essentially the same as real hunger and, over time, typically wear down even the most disciplined and strong-willed individuals. Dr. Feiz and Associates notes that there is no countervailing biological process in place that tries to reduce our food consumption when we are too heavy.

Dr. Feiz and Associates says bariatric surgery offers a significant boost in the fight against obesity. The clinic cites sleeve gastrectomy, which removes roughly 75%-85% of the stomach, as a prime example of weight loss surgery that can help patients lose and maintain their weight without being as radically invasive as older procedures. This surgery is particularly effective in that it removes an area in the stomach that appears to be responsible for ghrelin production alongside making overeating physically uncomfortable. The clinic says that by dramatically reducing hormonal hunger, patients are finally able to sustain their weight loss once they are no longer plagued by incessant hunger pangs. Dr. Feiz and Associates note that patients who come out of the sleeve gastrectomy typically lose significant amounts of weight and – even more important – are able to stave off the return of obesity over the long term.

Eden Formulations adds Cortexa (natural memory support formula for adults) and Natrofem (natural sexual health formula for women) to its established line of dietary supplements. Eden’s medical director and practitioner supervisor, Dr. Van J. Veloso, explains, “Years of research and development go into each product before it is ready to go to market. Eden’s roots started long before the first product released in 2011.”

In 2018, Eden Formulations expanded their product line with the release of Equalize, a complete multi-vitamin for adults. The next product launch debuts November 2019 with Cortexa and Natrofem.

Cortexa: for memory support. It assists memory performance, supports cognitive function, and encourages mental clarity and focus. Each bottle contains 30 capsules to be taken once, daily.

Natrofem: a female, natural sexual health formula. Natrofem supports overall sexual function, sexual desire, and boasts libido. Each bottle contains 60 capsules to be taken twice, daily.

Before the launch of Equalize, Eden Formulations traditionally offered three niche, adult supplements to its customers:

2.    Natrolex: a drug-free sexual health formula used to treat Erectile Dysfunction, boost stamina and libido, restart male growth, and to elongate sexual activity. Its non-GMO formula includes a propriety blend of 19 plant-based ingredients.

3.    ViProsta: a prostate support treatment used to relieve symptoms and encourage overall prostate health. Viprosta regulates urinary frequency, improves urinary flow, and supports prostate function. There are 33 potent herbs, vitamins, amino acids, and minerals in the formula.
