News Image

“The collaboration between Cancer Hope Network and ReVital meets patient needs and provides much-needed support. We are proud to recognize the life-improving work being done by Dr. Stubblefield and his team.” ~ Executive Director Cynthia Gutierrez Bernstein

There’s good news: People with cancer are living longer. In fact, cancer survival rates have improved more than 27% since 1991. (American Cancer Society, 2019) But as patients live longer, they often face complications brought on by the very treatments that saved their lives. That challenge is where the ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation program comes in.

From diagnosis through survivorship, ReVital’s team of specialized physical, occupational and speech-language therapists work to make life better and more fulfilling for cancer survivors. “We focus on improving function and quality of life through safe, effective, compassionate and comprehensive multidisciplinary rehabilitation services,” says Dr. Michael D. Stubblefield, an internationally recognized expert on cancer rehabilitation who serves as ReVital’s National Medical Director in addition to his role as Director of Cancer Rehabilitation at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation. “We help patients live well beyond their cancer diagnosis,” he continued. “Our mission to restore function and quality of life is very tightly aligned with the mission of Cancer Hope Network.”

This year, Cancer Hope Network is proud to recognize ReVital’s important contributions to patient care at Kessler with the Spirit of Hope award. The award will be presented Saturday, November 2 at the 34th Annual Chrysalis Gala.

“The collaboration between Cancer Hope Network and ReVital meets patient needs and provides much-needed support,” says CHN Executive Director Cynthia Gutierrez Bernstein. “We are proud to recognize the life-improving work being done by Dr. Stubblefield and his team.”

“Peer-to-peer and social support is invaluable during the cancer journey,” said Tiffany Kendig, PT, DPT, MPH, CLT, ReVital Program Director at Kessler. “Our ability to offer this resource through CHN empowers survivors and facilitates our dedication to providing comprehensive cancer care.” She discussed ReVital’s philosophy of care – which meshes so closely with CHN’s own. “We believe that all survivors should have access to comprehensive, high quality, specialized cancer rehabilitation services throughout their cancer journey. What’s important to our patients is important to us.”

While we are honored and greatly appreciate recognition for our efforts on the part of cancer survivors, we still have a long way to go in making comprehensive cancer rehabilitation services available to all of those who need them,” Kendig concluded. “Support and recognition by the Cancer Hope Network is a meaningful validation of our mission and a tremendous motivator as we work to get help to those who need it.”

MATE Inspiration for Innovation Receives Motorola Solutions Foundation

News Image

This funding will allow us to establish a regional competition program in Colorado, as well as to engage and support underserved students in South Florida and Southern California and inner-city youth in Chicago.

MATE Inspiration for Innovation (MATE II) announced it received a grant for $45,000 from Motorola Solutions Foundation, the charitable arm of Motorola Solutions, Inc., to further expand its reach of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education.

MATE II is a nonprofit organization that challenges students to apply STEM skills in an underwater robotics competition called the MATE ROV (remotely operated vehicle) Competition. Through these dedicated grant funds, MATE II will target underrepresented populations in specific locations in Southern California, Illinois and South Florida with the goal of providing resources to get them involved in the competition and expose them to careers that they might not have otherwise considered. Motorola Solutions Foundation awards grants each year to organizations, such as MATE II, which support and advance public safety programs and technology and engineering education initiatives.

”We are so pleased to have been awarded Motorola Solutions Foundation funding again this year,” said Jill Zande, president and executive director of MATE II. “This funding will allow us to establish a regional competition program in Colorado, as well as to engage and support underserved students in South Florida and Southern California and inner-city youth in Chicago. We are excited to introduce these students to STEM via the MATE ROV Competition, and to help them realize there are education and career opportunities available to them in STEM fields.”

The MATE ROV Competition requires students to brainstorm and engineer solutions to problems based on real world scenarios, from removing plastics from our oceans to maintaining healthy waterways and ensuring public safety. The competition challenges students from K through 12, community colleges and universities throughout four levels (EXPLORER, RANGER, NAVIGATOR and SCOUT) to design, build and test underwater robots to complete specified, simulated, real-life missions. Students also must organize themselves into mock companies, which encourages them to develop entrepreneurial thinking, innovate and work together to essentially manufacture, market and sell their product (a.k.a. the ROV).

Competition consists of a network of 40 regional contests that take place around the world each spring with the winning teams advancing to the international championship. The 2020 MATE International ROV Competition, June 25-27, is expected to bring together more than 1,000 students as they descend in Villanova, Pennsylvania.

This year, Motorola grants will support programs that help more than two million students, teachers, first responders and community members around the globe. They have a specific focus on providing grants to programs that impact underrepresented populations, including females, minorities, people with disabilities, veterans and others.

“We are very pleased to support the work of MATE II,” said Monica Mueller, executive director of the Motorola Solutions Foundation. “We believe in organizations that foster innovation and drive change, and we’re proud to be part of the positive impact they are making in the community.”

MATE II, along with its sister organization the MATE Center, organizes the MATE International Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) competition and manages the network of 40 (and growing) regional competitions that take place around the world and feed into the international event. Ron Gordon Watch Repair

We are huge James Bond fans as well as Omega watch lovers.

Ron Gordon Watch Repair, the New York City leader in Omega watch repair at, is proud to announce a new post to its blog on the new Omega Seamaster Diver 300M. The new watch by Omega commemorates the brand’s relationship with the James Bond franchise and is launched in anticipation of the next film in the Bond series, “No Time to Die.”

“We are huge James Bond fans as well as Omega watch lovers,” explained Ron Gordon, proprietor of Ron Gordon Watch Repair. “Everyone here in the watch repair shop is excited about the forthcoming new James Bond movie, and the fact that Omega is doing a reissue of the Seamaster Diver 300M just builds on the excitement. We see many old and new Omega watches here in our watch repair shop, and urge anyone who has an Omega to bring it in for inspection, tune up, and necessary watch repairs.”Omega Watch Repair Midtown New York City

To read the new blog post, visit The post explains the relationship between Omega and Bond, and has a brief summary of the new watch’s features. Plus it contains outward links where persons who love Omega watches (or James Bond) can explore the Internet for more information. In his blog, Ron alerts the watch-loving community of New York City to upcoming events and developments that impact luxury watches. Omega is one of his favorite brands, and it is one of the most popular brands to be sold and thus repaired at the shop. Many New Yorkers have older or vintage Omega watches and bring them into the Midtown watch repair shop so that they stay in working condition.

“There is nothing more tragic than an Omega watch stuck in a drawer in a non-functioning state,” concluded Ron Gordon.

Located in Midtown Manhattan, Ron Gordon repair is a leader in luxury watch repair in New York City. While the company focuses on many brands such as Rolex watch repair (, Omega watch repair is one of its most popular categories. Many New Yorkers prefer the Omega brand because it is sporty, has a long and historical connection to outdoor activities such as scuba diving or snorkeling, and has built its brand on an affinity with the sleek machismo of James Bond. The Omega brand combines best-in-class watch technology with good looks and a sporty demeanor. That said, many New Yorkers do not have the latest Omega watch but due to the cost of the watches have older varieties. Indeed, many inherit their Omega from Mom or Dad, and then bring the watch into Ron Gordon for an inspection, tune-up, and – if necessary- thorough repair. Ron takes his passion for watches and turns that into an attention for detail. No detail is too small for Ron when evaluating an Omega watch. At the end of the repair process, the New Yorker receives his or her watch back in tip-top condition. Those who own Omega watches are urged to bring them in for repairs, and then wear them to the opening of the new James Bond film. The watches are great conversation starters and help the audience participate in James Bond sheer “coolness” as he fights the bad guys and brings them to justice in an elegant way, with an Omega on his wrist.

Ron Gordon Watch Repair is conveniently located at 280 Madison Avenue at 40th Street in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. The company specializes in the service and repair of high quality, luxury, watches, both modern and vintage, and repairs watches for those who wear the very best brands. The expert and namesake is Ron Gordon.
