Uncovering the Regulatory Advice Affecting OECD 443 Study Design and the Impact on Your Ongoing and Future Studies, Upcoming Webinar Hosted by Xtalks

These recommendations have resulted in the necessity to amend the design of ongoing and planned studies ultimately affecting resources, time and cost of a study which was already complex and costly.

The Extended One Generation Reproductive Toxicity Study (EOGRTS, EU B.56, OECD TG 443) has been the information requirement for reproductive toxicity under the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH, Annexes IX and X, Section 8.7.3.) since March 2015. In July 2021, an evaluation of Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) 443 studies led by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) revealed critical issues with study designs that had the potential to compromise data analysis and interpretation.

Resulting regulatory advice had an immediate impact upon the design of ongoing and planned OECD 443 studies. Recommendations emphasized demonstrating the highest possible dose level showing reproductive effects without severe suffering or deaths in P0 animals and provided clarity on expectations for histopathology of Cohort 1B animals and intermediate and low dose level groups.

This webinar will discuss a retrospective analysis of studies conducted at Labcorp comparing anonymized sexual maturation data to assess the relative merits of increasing the number of animals evaluated. These recommendations have resulted in the necessity to amend the design of ongoing and planned studies ultimately affecting resources, time and cost of a study which was already complex and costly.

Join expert speakers from Labcorp, Steven Renaut, Associate Director, Development and Reproductive Toxicology (DART); and Julie Passage, Study Director, Safety Assessment, Crop Protection and Chemicals, in a live webinar on Friday, November 19, 2021 at 10am EST (3pm GMT/UK) to learn about the relative merits and consequences of these recommendations from a practical perspective.

Over 17% of coding and CDI professionals recently indicated they are within 1 to 5 years of retirement. Harmony Healthcare recently conducted a survey of 1,300 coding and CDI professionals on their perspectives in the wake of the great resignation. Harmony Healthcare’s experience in solving complex labor challenges comes from a wide perspective, as they are on pace to deploy 1,000 consultants in 2021. Other critical findings from the survey include:

A diverse array of scientists, doctors, technologists and startup founders will keynote on the new concepts in health and wellness they’re busy inventing–shaking up everything from healthcare to higher education

The 2021 Global Wellness Summit’s theme is “A New New Era in Health & Wellness”–and the numerous keynote speakers announced today powerfully illustrate that we are indeed entering an unprecedented time of wellness disruption and creativity. A diverse array of scientists, doctors, technologists and startup founders will keynote on the new concepts in health and wellness they’re busy inventing–shaking up everything from healthcare to higher education.

Chip Conley, founder of the Modern Elder Academy, the first midlife “wisdom school,” will discuss the profoundly different future ahead for aging and new models that will make it healthier. Dr. Varda Shalev, director of Maccabitech, the innovative research wing of Israel’s vast Maccabi Healthcare Services, and co-founder of the startup, Alike Health, will explain how artificial intelligence (AI), crowdsourcing and big data can transform healthcare by delivering new preventative, personalized medicine. Abby Brody, founder of MYX, a 21st-century approach to higher education, will speak on how a new focus on purpose and wellness can transform the college experience.

Experts will explain how everything from circadian science to cryptocurrencies and blockchain to lighting technology will change human health and the wellness market. A dedicated Tech Pavilion will showcase the latest innovations from major industry players including fitness technology leader, Technogym; recovery tech pioneer, Therabody; and Mindbody, the platform that connects people to wellness providers.

The Summit takes place in-person in Boston, Massachusetts and virtually from November 30 to December 3. View the evolving lineup of speakers.

“We’re gathering an extremely wide range of thinkers and companies who are pushing wellness and prevention far beyond the usual categories–many using science and technology to do more than create another commercial wellness product, but rather solve huge health problems and do nothing less than change the world,” said Susie Ellis, GWS chair and CEO.

More on the speakers and their talks on the future of health & wellness:

Abby Brody is founder and CEO of MYX, a new approach to higher education that meets the needs of the 21st century by creating experiences for young adults to find their life purpose while also gaining essential skills for life success. He’s the author of five books, including New York Times bestsellers. He is founder of the Modern Elder Academy, the first mid-life wisdom school dedicated to transforming aging. Intelligent.com Survey Reveals 55% of Unvaccinated College Students Lie About COVID-19 Vaccine Status

Intelligent.com, a trusted resource for online degree rankings and higher education planning, has published a new survey report to gauge how college students are responding to vaccine mandates on campus. Researchers examined responses from 1,250 unvaccinated students who attend colleges and universities across the nation.

The study shows 55% of unvaccinated college students lie about being vaccinated at schools that mandate the vaccine. Nearly half of students who have lied purchased or created fake vaccine cards, and 15% said they made false claims of religious exemptions. Nineteen percent of students lie through verbal or written statements because their schools did not require proof of inoculation. Fifty-one percent of students also admit to lying about vaccination in social settings.

Key findings indicate that most students lie to avoid uncomfortable conversations. Sixty percent of respondents said they do not tell the truth because it prevents conflict with people who have different opinions about the vaccine. Students also cite other reasons for lying in public, such as avoiding pressure to get vaccinated, being shamed for not being vaccinated, or being excluded from social activities.

According to the report, male students are more likely to lie about vaccine status than female students, by 20%. Sixty-one percent of male college students lie about being vaccinated at school, and only 41% of female students fail to tell the truth. Lying is also more prevalent among Asian and White students. Sixty percent of White students and sixty-five percent of Asian students share misinformation about their COVID-19 vaccine status. Hispanic/Latino and Black students represent 48% and 40% of students who lie, respectively.

Intelligent.com commissioned this study to examine challenges with vaccine requirements at American colleges and universities. The survey was conducted via Pollfish, the online survey platform, on July 16, 2021, and distributed to students who are unvaccinated. Respondents were given a screening question to determine eligibility.
