World Class Eating Disorders Professionals Offer Perspective at International Virtual Training Event, November 13-14, 2020

Coming soon from iaedp™’s International Chapter is a two-day virtual training for eating disorders treatment professionals slated for November 13 (8:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. EST) and November 14 (8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. EST) delivered in Spanish only by a renowned collective of experts in the field. The International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp™) is a premiere provider of educational programs and training standards for eating disorder treatment specialists and other healthcare professionals.

The training is hosted by iaedp™’s International Chapter Chair of Mexico Dra. JulietaVélez-Belmonte, MS, PsyD, CEDS, NCC-OPCA with sponsorship from Neandi Psychological Specialities and Feelink digital Community and with support from the Ibero-American Commission on Human Rights. The theme for the training is “The Body, Land of the Image.”

Early registration is already underway for the International Chapter Professional Training and lasts until Monday, November 9, 2020. The cost for the two-day training session is $130 during early registration and $145 after that. A “Friends” group rate for two colleagues registering together will be $100 each.

The following are training program presenters:

Dra. Julieta Velez, MS, PsyD, CEDS, NCC-OPCA is a psychologist from the Universidad Nacional Autonoma in Mexico, masters in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, a specialist in brief psychotherapy from the Universidad Anahuac Mexico. She also is a doctor in Family Sciences by the Instituto de Enlaces Educativo with research in families. She is the Dean of the School of Psychology of the Universidad Anáhuac Puebla and a renowned international lecturer.

Dra. Juanita Gempler is a clinical psychologist at Universidad Javeriana de Bogota with a degree in Behavioral Cognitive Therapy from the University of London. She is a Fellow of the Academy for Eating Disorders and Founder and Scientific Director of Equilibrio, a program for the evaluation and management of eating disorders, mood and anxiety in Bogota.

Dra. Aridia Vasquez, MD, MS, RD is a medical doctor, registered dietitian and specialist in eating disorders and intuitive eating. She currently services as the medical director of Renovates by CPE, the first bilingual multidisciplinary treatment center for eating disorders in the Dominican Republic and serves as the iaedp™ International Chapter Co-Chair of the Dominican Republic.

Dra. Eva Trujillo, MD, FAED is Director and Co-Founder of Comenzar de Nuevo AC, former president of the Academy for Eating Disorders and clinical professor at the TEC Salud School of Medicine. She is also Vice President and Co-Founder of the Mexican College of Professionals in Eating Disorders.

Dra. Zuleika Morillo, MD is a child and adolescent psychiatrist from the Hospital Clinico de San Carlos, Madrid and a child and adolescent medical psychotherapist. She is a specialist in adolescent integral health from the Technological University of Sano Domingo and a specialist in Abuse, Neglect and Wellness from the Universidad de Salamanca, Spain while also serving as the iaedp™ International Chapter Co-Chair of the Dominican Republic.

Dra. Rosanna Mauro, MS, RD, CEDRD-S, NBC-HWC is a registered dietitian, holds a Master in Group Psychology and is a Certified Integrative Health Coach, through the University of Arizona and the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine. She is the International Chapter President along with being an iaedp ™ Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDRD-S) and Approved Supervisor.

Dr. Emmett Bishop, Jr., MD, FAED, F. iaedp, CEDS is a psychiatrist with more than 40 years of experience in the research and clinical practice of eating disorders, and the Co-Founder and former Medical Director at Eating Recovery Center in Denver, Colorado. He currently serves on the iaedp™ Board of Directors, past president and treasurer.

Dr. Antonio Tena, PsyD has a degree in Psychology from the Universidad Iberoamericana, Master in Clinical Psychology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He also has a specialty in Dynamic Psychiatry in Mexican Psychoanalytic Association and is a Doctor of Psychology from the Universidad Iberoamericana.

Dr. Rodrigo César León Hernandez, PsyD, has a doctorate in psychology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, CONACYT professor and member of the National System of Researchers Level I. He has a master’s degree in the Taking Control of Your Health program from Stanford University, as well as a master’s degree in the chronic disease management program from Flinders University Australia. He is a member of iaedp™ and of the risk factors research group and director of Centro Alianza para trastornos de alimentación y salud (CAPTAS).
