Warehouse management system software developer Datex introduced a way for its clients involved with food exports to save time and labor using a new integration with the USDA PHIS Export Platform.

In mid-2017, the USDA launched the Public Health Information System (PHIS) Export Platform for food product import/export certifications, replacing the previous paper-based process. The roll-out of the new system worldwide began in 2017, continues through 2020 and handles the 9080-3 and 9060-6 applications, replacements and activity management for exporters. The USDA PHIS platform helps food exporters by consolidating export paperwork and certifications, streamlining communications and business operations.

To improve the efficiency of the process for food exporters, Datex has developed an integration with the USDA so that the manual process of creating health certificates is now automated, saving exporters valuable time and labor. The new integration also helps to ensure more accurate creation of health certificates due to the elimination of paper-based processes, handwriting errors and other inaccuracies.
