Ultrasound Industry Veterans Join EchoNous Senior Management

Their addition to the team signals our readiness to drive value and change in the global POCUS market.

EchoNous, leading developers of AI-driven products for the handheld point-of-care bedside ultrasound (POCUS) market, today announced the addition of three ultrasound industry veterans to its leadership team. Dave Willis has joined the company in the role of Chief Innovation & Strategy Officer, Graham Cox will serve as Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations, and Gillian Cox will join as VP of Marketing.

All three executives were key architects and builders of the first hand-carried point-of-care ultrasound product, SonoSite, and now join EchoNous to accelerate the global execution of POCUS 2.0 – defined by the company as the arrival of true diagnostic-grade, Ai-driven, hand-carried ultrasound tools. This new generation of POCUS is noteworthy for its applied use of deep learning and computer vision capabilities.

Willis brings more than 40 years of knowledge and experience to EchoNous, having formerly served at SonoSite as Executive of the company. A trained sonographer and graduate of the Wharton Business School executive program, he held leadership roles with ATL Ultrasound and Clarius – of which he was a cofounder – after departing SonoSite.

Graham Cox, who also brings four decades’ worth of experience to EchoNous, served at SonoSite alongside Willis; spending 13 years with the company, a stint that culminated in a role as Senior Global Distribution Executive. Following his tenure at SonoSite, he served as CEO of eZono AG, designers of tablet-based ultrasound systems.

“Both Dave and Graham were essential ingredients in building our previous company from a startup to a high-performing, high-value organization,” said Kevin Goodwin, CEO of EchoNous. “I am elated that they can join us again, now at EchoNous. Their addition to the team signals our readiness to drive value and change in the global POCUS market.”

Willis and Cox will be charged primarily with growing EchoNous’s newest offering, the KOSMOS platform. Approved by the FDA in March, KOSMOS offers AI-driven ultrasound in a hand-carried device. Focused on the abdomen and challenging areas to scan – notably, the heart and lungs – KOSMOS rises above the limitations of “quick look” handheld tools currently in the market, bringing diagnostic-grade imaging and functionality to bedside care.

EchoNous’s new VP of Marketing, Gillian Cox, was the cofounder of SonoSite Europe and then served as a global marketing executive at Sonosite before retiring. “I’m thrilled that Gill has opted to set aside her retirement to join our team and, once again, push the boundaries of ultrasound technology,” added Goodwin. “I couldn’t ask for a better marketing lead as we round out the next phase of our global execution.”
