The Spine Center to Reach More Patients with HIPAA-Compliant Telemedicine

“We are thrilled to be able to provide a safe and convenient alternative for our patients to schedule appointments.”

On Monday, April 6th, The Spine Center, a private practice located in Park Ridge and specializing in Spine health, announced that it is partnering with the HIPAA-compliant telemedicine platform to allow patients to access medical appointments remotely.

Patients of the Spine Center will be able to use telemedicine— in this case, doctor and nurse consultations through electronic communication via the Doxy platform. Patients can access the platform on a browser without a download and without any extra fees. The platform is designed to be accessible from every device—desktop, tablet, and smartphone.

Prioritizing Patient Safety and Privacy in Telemedicine

In addition to provid- ing an easy-to-use experience, the Spine Center is committed to patient privacy. The telemedicine platform and The Spine Center adhere to HIPAA, PIPEDA, and GDPR data privacy requirements.

The video appointment platform will allow patients to access healthcare safely and remotely while social distancing. It also provides for more flexibility, as users can visit their doctors from the comfort of their homes. “We are thrilled to be able to provide a safe and convenient alternative for our patients to schedule appointments,” stated Dr. Christopher J. Bergin, M.D., a partner in the practice.

How to Join the Platform

Interested patients and potential patients are urged to call their insurance providers to determine if individual insurance plans cover telemedicine services. As a result of COVID-19, many providers are being lenient on restrictions.
