The Many Faces of Quality Measurement”

Whether Star ratings, HEDIS, NCQA, actuarial analysis and/or risk assessment, quality measurement cuts across many payer products and functions, I’m looking forward to exploring how payers approach finding the balance between their strategic and compliance requirements.

Verinovum, a data curation and enrichment technology company today announced they will host a webinar to educate payers on the evolving landscape of quality measurement in healthcare and the growing importance of clean clinical data to support a variety of government requirements, including Medicare Advantage and the emerging TEFCA legislation. The webinar, entitled New Truths for Health Plans: The Many Faces of Quality Measurement will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. EST.

This webinar is particularly timely as it follows the December 2020 Medicare Advantage enrollment deadline and also provides a prelude to the upcoming Medicare Advantage Leadership Innovations virtual conference later this month.

This informative session will feature industry thought leader, Larry Yuhasz (WebMD, Truven Health Analytics, IBM Watson Health), and former healthcare emerging technologies leader and innovator, Mark Marciante (CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield), who will discuss the diverse technical and operational challenges related to quality measurement, and explore some of the emerging best practices payers are implementing to advance both their quality measurement and business requirements. Attendees will learn about:

  • External market and regulatory forces that are stimulating ongoing changes to quality measures
  • Impediments to actionable data due to lack of interoperability, analytical standards, and contractual alignment
  • Diverse buy/build/partner approaches based on a payer’s portfolio, growth plans, size and scale
  • Demand for new technologies and data sources that can advance approaches to quality measurement, but also current workflow and business models

“Whether Star ratings, HEDIS, NCQA, actuarial analysis and/or risk assessment, quality measurement cuts across many payer products and functions,” says Yuhasz. “I’m looking forward to exploring how payers approach finding the balance between their strategic and compliance requirements.”

“There are some intriguing paths forward to help harmonize quality measurement approaches,” says Marciante. “Success in many government-driven programs requires the transformation of quality measurement competencies into a competitive advantage for payers and provider networks.”
