It is especially inspiring during the COVID-19 pandemic to hear from other leaders working through the challenges and finding success in these unusual times.

The Gildred Companies is pleased to announce that the company’s CEO, Gregg Haggart, is a finalist in the San Diego Business Journal’s CEO of the Year awards. The event recognizes significant achievements of local leaders within their companies, sector and in the community.

“I’m honored to be named among this group of CEOs who are driving business forward in San Diego” said Haggart. “It is especially inspiring during the COVID-19 pandemic to hear from other leaders working through the challenges and finding success in these unusual times. I’m proud to represent the achievements of The Gildred Companies on behalf of our entire team.”

Under Gregg Haggart’s stewardship, The Gildred Companies own and manage a portfolio of real estate in Southern California serving over 200 tenants. Recent accomplishments by the team led by Haggart include the development of a 50-megawatt solar project on a long held Gildred parcel in the Anza Borrego Desert. The project is designed to help San Diego achieve its Climate Action Plan goals and power over 20,000 homes without using carbon-based fuel and provide both clean energy and jobs in the region. The successful purchase and redevelopment of Ocean Point Tech Center in Carlsbad was led by Gregg, and most recently he is successfully navigating the COVID-19 pandemic while keeping the entire team intact.

This year the CEO of the Year awards event will be held virtually on September 30, 2020, from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. PDT, and attendance is possible by registering on the SDBJ website. Winners will be announced in various categories, such as public company, privately held company, nonprofit, government agency and education.
