The Exceptional Women Alliance (EWA) announces that after an expansive search and in-depth interview process, Melanie Marcus, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer of Surescripts, was selected as a 2023 EWA.

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 2, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ –The Exceptional Women Alliance (EWA) announces the selection of 2023 awardee Melanie Marcus, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer for Surescripts. With over 30 years of experience working at the intersection of marketing, technology, and healthcare, her role of “chief storyteller,” helps people understand how technology unites our fragmented healthcare system. She also currently hosts Surescripts’ award-winning podcast, There’s A Better Way: Smart Talk on Healthcare and Technology.

Ms. Marcus has a robust background as a healthcare marketing, customer experience and strategic executive. She is a creative and visionary leader with a passion for building teams who deliver growth through innovations in brand, thought leadership, lead generation, sales enablement and customer engagement.

After earning her MBA from Boston University, Ms. Marcus built her career at McKesson, working in strategy, product, and marketing leadership roles for clinical decision support claims editing, case/disease management, and revenue cycle management software solutions. Before that, she held key roles in strategic planning and marketing for Sutter Health in Sacramento, California, and Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Today Ms. Marcus also holds Board seats with The Sequoia Project and The Brem Foundation to Defeat Breast Cancer. She also serves as the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) Foundation’s National Advisory Council Chair for the Role and Value of the Pharmacist.
