The American Case Management Association (ACMA), a professional membership organization for nurses, social workers, physician leaders and other professionals in case management and transitions of care practice, announces the addition of two new members to its executive team. Brian Van Norman, CAE, has been named as Senior Vice President, and Marlene Bober, MHA, ACM-RN, will serve as Vice President of Practice Development.
As Senior Vice President, Brian will oversee the organization’s membership services, chapter relations, meeting/event management and public policy.
As Vice President of Practice Development, Marlene will be responsible for ACMA’s ongoing external partnerships/initiatives, standards of practice, certification services, and all professional practice content for conferences, education, simulation training and publications.

About Brian Van Norman
With more than 20 years of experience, Brian began his career as a Program Manager for Student Affairs with the American Academy of Family Physicians. He later served as Executive Director for Hotel Brokers International, Executive Director for Children’s Miracle Network at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Director of Chapter Relations and Membership for twelve years with the American Public Works Association in Kansas City and most recently the Chief Membership Development Officer with Shriners International, a 200,000 member organization.
Brian earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational communication and leadership from Southern Nazarene University and is a Certified Association Executive from the American Society of Association Executives.

About Marlene Bober
With more than 20 years of experience as an Executive Nurse Leader, Marlene’s career includes management roles in medical-surgical and oncology patient care, epidemiology/infection control, and quality and utilization management. She has served as Director of Nursing, Director of Clinical Informatics, and Administrator for Enterprise Care Management where she had accountability for the integration of all acute care management strategies for the Illinois-based Advocate Healthcare system. Her most recent role was that of Vice President for Integrated Care Management for Advocate Aurora Health Care’s 500 sites of care and 27 hospitals.
Marlene earned her Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Science in Health Services degree from the University of St. Francis. She has also earned a certificate of executive management and project management from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
“Marlene has a wealth of knowledge in case management, value-based care and strategic planning,” Cunningham said. “It will be her role to ensure ACMA’s Case Management and Transitions of Care standards of practice are represented in our products and services as well as lead external partners and content experts in helping define our future practice. She will have a great positive impact on our organization and members.”
