“Sterilex is a growing, family-owned business that’s mission-driven to keep essential workers across all industries safe,” said Alex Josowitz, President and CEO of Sterilex.

Sterilex, a leading developer of innovative solutions that improve food safety and enhance public health, today announced the launch of a community initiative designed to keep employees and customers of Baltimore small businesses and organizations safe and operational amid COVID-19.

Local small businesses, including restaurants, retail shops, and food companies, are encouraged to submit a brief application to receive a Sterilex Safety Starter Kit, which includes free disinfectant, a portable sprayer from FOAM-iT to apply the solution, and a guide to sanitation best practices from leading experts at Sterilex.

The company plans to donate nearly 20, 2.5 gallon kits of a proprietary solution that was among the first group of products included on the EPA’s list of disinfectant formulas approved for use against COVID-19.

“Sterilex is a growing, family-owned business that’s mission-driven to keep essential workers across all industries safe,” said Alex Josowitz, President and CEO of Sterilex. “Through these donations, we want to show small businesses in our community that we’re invested in their health and success.”

In addition to the call for applications, Sterilex will be supporting a handful of local nonprofits dedicated to increasing access to fresh and healthy food during the pandemic including the Maryland Food Bank and Moveable Feast.

“This community initiative expands upon Sterilex’s year-round efforts to ensure the safety of food manufacturing and protein processing facilities,” said Josowitz. “Our products are working each day to keep their essential workers safe. And by keeping those workers safe, we’re helping to keep critical industries operational.”

Currently, Sterilex is working with thousands of food manufacturers across the country to ensure they’re equipped to keep their plants running. The company is also collaborating with major meat processors to get their facilities back up and running in the event of an outbreak.
