NEW YORK (PRWEB)

Beau Mann, CEO and Founder of Sober Grid, the world’s leading digital Sober Living community, today announced the launch of a free online treatment service program for all African Americans, Hispanic/Latino Americans and other minority communities throughout the state of Ohio. The company recently secured the grant for the program from the Ohio Opiate Response Continuum.
The free program is a significant step forward showing Ohio’s dedication to taking minority health issues seriously. It provides much needed resources rarely seen by these communities along with state-of-the-art technology through its partnership with Sober Grid. Due to the current pandemic, minority communities have seen a disproportionate number of issues including those struggling with addiction and relapse. In order to combat this problem, Sober Grid is offering a digitally enhanced free peer coaching program that eliminates the barriers to access for these underserved communities.
“After nearly a year of unprecedented and tumultuous changes stemming from COVID-19 and the disproportionate impact it has had on communities and individuals of color, it is more important than ever to do all that we can to help those in need as we see the increased isolation’s effect on addiction and relapse,” Mann said.
In addition to Sober Grid’s free online minority addiction service program in Ohio, it is currently hosting multiple recovery meetings and support groups. It has also adapted 12 step meetings, sober parenting support, meditation and fellowship groups on weekends where members can hang out and play games virtually. During the holidays in particular, many are triggered especially with the increased separation from their support systems caused from the COVID-19 pandemic, so Sober Grid is offering marathon meetings on New Year’s Eve running until 4:00 am ET to help all those in need who can no longer turn to those close to them for help on the biggest drinking holiday of the year.
As Sober Grid expands access to support and connectivity throughout the Ohio minority communities, it is aiding in the reduction of relapse rates, combating isolation and helping to prevent the negative impacts normally seen in those struggling with addiction. The sober community thrives on having a safe and supportive environment and through Sober Gid’s advanced technology they are allowing its users to connect with their community for the support they need during this difficult time.
