SmartyStreets Donates One Million Dollars in Services for Companies Helping with COVID-19

We are thrust into a new world where everything needs to be delivered to combat the pandemic. Lives are on the line. Finding that several addresses don’t exist, or were entered incorrectly, creates additional delays for already short-staffed companies.

As companies struggle to adapt to the new business logistics of the COVID-19 pandemic, SmartyStreets—a leader in address validation, announces today it is donating up to $1 million in services to qualifying organizations over the next 3 months. Organizations include state and county health departments, EMS first responders, non-profits, city governments, supply chain management, nursing care providers, delivery companies, and more.

“Pharmacies that have never offered delivery are now inundated with orders from the elderly or immunocompromised. They can’t risk leaving home for medication.” said Jonathan Oliver, Founder of SmartyStreets. “We are thrust into a new world where everything needs to be delivered to combat the pandemic. Lives are on the line. Finding that several addresses don’t exist, or were entered incorrectly, creates additional delays for already short-staffed companies.”

For immediate impact, SmartyStreets has created a short application and can qualify companies to use their services the same day in many instances. Applicants just need to visit SmartyStreets’ COVID-19 page for information.

“SmartyStreets has also employed additional resources to help onboard new users. This will ensure incoming companies are up and running quickly. We have users that are validating addresses within minutes of being approved. This speeds up delivery time by eliminating bad addresses.”

Kevin Cawley of the United Way is thankful for the support.

“During the COVID-19 crisis, we’re seeing an influx of new accounts. People are donating, requesting services, and volunteering. We would like to quickly ensure that our address formats are USPS-compliant in order to connect volunteers and non-profit partners with people in need.”

SmartyStreets recognizes that companies and agencies are working around the clock to provide essential services. “Those on the front line of this crisis – non-profits, government agencies, healthcare workers, relief organizations and delivery companies– need all the support they can get,” continued Oliver. “SmartyStreets is proud to show our commitment for the important work they’re doing by giving something that will help their organizations run more efficiently when every second counts.”

Donated accounts under the COVID-19 program will receive free, unlimited access to their address validation tools and APIs until July 1, 2020. For more information on the program, visit https://smartystreets.com/covid-19.
