Ultraviolet-C (UVC) light is produced by the sun, except it is different from UV known for causing sunburns and skin cancer. Unlike UVA and UVB, UVC is blocked by the earth’s atmosphere and does not occur naturally on the Earth’s surface. Hence, we rely on human-made sources of UVC light at precise accumulated dosage levels to destroy bacteria, viruses, and other dangerous pathogens that gather in homes, schools, and other communal areas.
