Protocol Insight® announces MIPI M-PHY® Gear 5 UFS 4.0 Ready UFS Protocol Analyzer and Exerciser

[ad_1]

Protocol Insight is announcing availability of the new Falcon C Series of UFS protocol analyzers and exercisers.

The Falcon series offer unique capabilities such as Smart Tune™ equalization and Eye Monitor, Trace Validation™, and Events view. The Falcon exerciser models also offer link traffic generation with error injection to perform host emulation, stress testing and compliance/conformance verification.

Smart Tune equalization and Eye Monitor can be used to evaluate the MIPI® M-PHY link quality and tune the analyzer to ensure error-free M-PHY symbol capture.

Trace Validation is a patented Artificial intelligence (AI) tool that uses complex state machine logic to analyze traces algorithmically without user inference or discernment. Trace Validation can perform complex analysis of link traffic, for example UFS packet latency or UniPro Link Startup Sequences.

The traffic generation capability with error injection allows UFS host emulation and margin/stress testing and can be used to execute the JEDEC and UniPro CTS tests using Run Time Control.

The new Falcon C series will continue to offer these powerful capabilities and is also M-PHY Gear 5 UFS 4.0 ready. Customers who order the Falcon C series will be able to take delivery of their Falcon protocol analyzer or exerciser/analyzer now and upgrade to UFS 4.0 Gear 5 later when available.

Pricing, configuration, and availability:

The Falcon G400C UFS protocol analyzer and G450C exerciser/analyzer supporting UFS 3.1, UniPro 1.8 and M-PHY 4.1 will start shipping April 30, 2021. The Raptor M300 and the Falcon B series will go to limited supply at that time.

The Falcon G500C protocol analyzer and G550C protocol exerciser/analyzer and the upgrades supporting UFS 4.0, UniPro 2.0 and M-PHY 5.0 HS-G5 are expected to be available late Q4 2021.

Upgradability to UFS 4.0, UniPro 2.0 and M-PHY 5.0 HS-G5 is only supported with the Falcon C series and not with earlier models.
