Integritas Communications, in collaboration with Global Education Group, is hosting a virtual educational program to advance understanding and management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

COPD Cases and Conversations: Preventing Exacerbations to Improve Outcomes is designed to educate primary care providers, nurse practitioners and other medical professionals involved in the management of COPD.

Imposing significant medical and socioeconomic burdens, COPD is associated with high mortality rates, rapid decreases in lung function, and poor patient quality of life. The COPD Cases and Conversations program is designed to equip frontline clinicians with both the critical insight and tools necessary to effectively improve treatment of COPD patients. Through an interactive face-to-face format, this online program will facilitate meaningful discussion surrounding not only common challenges faced when managing COPD, but also new strategies to overcome them. Key topics include longitudinal patient assessment, risk mitigation, evidence-based maintenance regimens, exacerbation prevention, and multimodal patient care.

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

Assess patients with COPD over time to characterize disease phenotypes, exacerbation risks, and treatment responses

Describe recent clinical trial data for combination maintenance therapy in COPD and updates to evidence-based guidelines

Tailor maintenance regimens for patients with COPD to reflect disease severity, minimize exacerbation risks, and account for comorbidities and patient preference

Engage patients with COPD on the need for appropriate physical activity, exacerbation avoidance, and treatment adherence
